  • Adobe Photoshop Elements on high dpi screen

Using Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro with Adobe Photoshop Elements is not possible. The beautiful 3200 x 1800 dpi screen makes Elements unreadable. Adobe, we are in 2014, when will you fix this?

PSE 11 is unusable on a high definition screen such as my Samsung Ativ laptop's 3200 x 1800 resolution.  When will this be solved?

  • Photoshop Elements stopped accepting a change in printer properties

I am printing on PlainCards stock and found by trial and error that printing with a setting of plain paper and a 5 second drying time delay kept the black from bleeding into other colors.  That worked last Saturday (7 June 2014).  Today (Monday) Photoshop will not accept my preferences.  I am using a Stylus R2880 and in the print dialog box, I click "Change Settings", in that box, I click "Advanced Settings".  This brings up the printer's dialog.  I change paper type to "Plain Paper / Bright White Paper" and go into "Paper Config..." and change Drying Time to 5 second delay.  Click "OK" and nothing has changed in the "Change Settings" dialog.  If I change the paper type here, and then use "Advanced" to change the drying time, it thinks about it for a second and then changes paper type back to presentation matte.  It worked last week, what changed?

    >Will Adobe UK transfer my PSE 6 licence from a Mac to a PC, and how do I go about it?
No, not now. They do offer a crossgrade. but only if you have the current version. Since you only have PSE 6 and not PSE 7 there's just no point, since Adobe would make you pay the "upgrade" cost, and you can usually find PSE 7 for much less than the adobe price.

  • Using iPhoto and editing with Photoshop Elements 4

    Hello
I am new to Macs after many years using PC and I am struggling to set up my photo workflow. I shoot in RAW format and input into iPhoto from iPhoto I double click on the photo and which opens the RAW editor in Photoshop Elements. After making changes I open the file in Photoshop and then save as a TIFF.
My problem is I do not see the changed and saved file in iPhoto and if I double click on the photo again it opens back up in the RAW editor not as a TIFF.
Can any one point me in the right direction to solve this or is what I am trying to do not possible
    Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
What you're trying to do is not possible.
When you save as a TIFF you create a whole new file that needs to be imported into iPhoto anew. iPhoto will track an edit as long as you stay with the same file - so, edit your jpeg in PSE and use the 'Save' command and the change is reflected in iPhoto. However, you cannot Save RAW files, it's always a Save As... and so the resulting file has to be imported.

  • I purchased the Adobe Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere Elements and when I went to download it, only Premiere Elements downloaded.

I wasn't even given a chance to enter the serial number for Photoshop Elements. I ordered the product on the Adobe website so i don't have any discs. I already have Photoshop Elements 10 if that changes anything. Please Help!

You can download the latest Photoshop Elements version from https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html

  • Weird Cursor(s) in Photoshop Elements

Today when I started using my photoshop elements the cursors had changed, there are different ones that switch depending on what tool I try to use. For some of the tools the cursor almost looks like it is trying to resemble the icon for it but three times and in dots.
I have tried the following possible solutions (none have worked):
    *Checked the Caps Lock Key
    *Reset the Tools
*Reset preferences (Hold down Shift, Alt, and Ctrl at startup)
    *Checked Font Size
    *Checked Preferences (Preferences>Display and Cursors)
*Put my display back to the default of 100%
It is weird with the following tools:
    *Magnetic Lasso
    *Magic Wand
    *Text
    *Crop
    *Magic Eraser
    *Paint Bucket
    *Shape Selection
    *Straighten Tool
    *Lasso
    *Polygonal Lasso
    *Eye Dropper
    *Hand Tool
    *Zoom
    *Move
Any Ideas on how to fix this? I can't even resize images properly since it started doing this.
    Thanks!

  • Change image from 300 to 72 dpi with Photoshop elements 13?

Want to buy an image for a Kindle cover which is only available in the size required by Kindle as a 300 dpi image. Can I change It to 72 dpi with my Photoshop elements 13?

So, on a copy I made of the image I want,I did go to "file", Then "save for Web", and made the long size 800 pixels, and saved that as JPEG..
But in that particular window, I didn't see "Constrain proportions" anywhere.
Yesterday, with that image, I did go "image" and then "resize", and did have checked  "constrain proportions". That is, I'm presently working with a resized  image, that includes a few text inserts and one simple custom shape..
But do I have to start with a fresh, Unedited image?
You continue to be marvelous help. I'm so grateful.

  • Photoshop Elements 8-Change of file format when saving deletes filename

I have been using Photoshop Elements 8 since last May and have always been irritated that when I add text to a photo it always defaults to PSD format for saving.  I have gone to the preference options to see if I can set jpg as the default and it does not offer that option.  This means that every time I save after adding text I have to manually select jpg to get the format to change.
Although this has been a pain, I have done it thousands of times as I have edited photos.
My problem is that suddenly from one day to the next when I change from PSD option to jpg the filename disappears and I have to go back and manually type in the whole filename.  The only changes to my computer settings that I can think of that might have affected this is that Microsoft Updates had 2 updates.  First was Definition for Windows Defender-KB915597 and the other was Unpdate for Windows 7 for x64 based systems-KB97690.
I saw a similar problem posted by sandwitch2 on Feb. 13th about PSE6.  99jon suggested the change to permissions of adding "everyone".  I tried this and it did not correct the problem.
    Any other suggestions are welcome.
I have found Adobe's insistance on saving as PSD irritating to say the least in the past.  The inability to change this in preferences has made me very unhappy, but the quality of their product has outweighed the hoops they make me jump through until this.  Their search feature in support is pretty much worthless.  It either brings up nothing if you keyword is to limiting or brings up 200 responses if it if too broad.
I have been a user of Photoshop Elements for over 6 years updating as new editions have come out. I am to the point that if I can't get this current problem fixed I am uninstalling Elements 8 and going to another software.  Adobe's proprietary requirements and poor support page are just too much of a pain to deal with.

I was told that if I save in PSD if I send the photos to share with others only those with Photoshop Elements can open the files.  That is why I try to use jpg.  Is that true?
Thanks for all the help from both of you,
    Bettye

  • Color space change when using photoshop elements plug in

When I select photo and edit with photoshop elements, Aperture makes a copy of the file as expected, but I can see the image color/hue etc. has changed, why?  Is there some setting I am missing?  The color of the image shouldn't change, should it? Just doesn't make sense!

Where do you see the color change of the copy?
In the thumbnail or preview before it is send to the external edtor?
When the image is opened in the external editor?
Or after it is send back from the editor?
I do not see any color changes when I use PS CS5; it may help to see a screenshot.

  • When I external edit an aperture photo using Photoshop Elements 9 and then get out, the changes are not reflected in Aperture when I return - this used to work for me but doesn't seem to have for some time - help please?

Have used Aperture for some time - at some point this stopped working - not sure when
    workflow:
click photo and elect to use the external editor (Photoshop Elements 9)
Copy of the photo is created in Aperture with the "O" badge and I am rolled out to Photoshop
Have to change the type to 8-bit in Photoshop to start making changes
When done and I exit I am prompted to save the photo
On returning to Aperture however the "O" badged photo does not get updated/reflect my changes
    Other Things:
I can find a changed photo sitting in the Aperture Library using finder or Photoshop itself - so I know changes have been made a new file saved (TIFF).
I am wondering if I am missing some (new) preference such that the changes are not proerly being saved for re-display/storage in the Aperture Library
I am running Lion OSX at the moment but the behaviour was the same under Snow Lepoard versions.
Current version of Aperture is 3.1.3, Elements is 9.0
    Any help/suggestions greatfully received

Try using psd.  Some rerports indicate some confustion between the apps with TIFF.  See:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15921933#15921933
I cannot confirm, nor test, since I use PS CS5, and not Elements.

I bought a new laptop (Macbook) but the current installation files I have of Photoshop Elements 12 is for Windows, how can I change this? Or do I have to purchase an all new photoshopset? I hope not because that would be really expensive.

Really? That's extremely unusual. Have you looked at all the discs? In any case you can download the mac version here:

  • Changes made in Photoshop Elements 4 not "showing up" in iPhoto

I just updated to Photoshop Elements 4 (from 3), and have selected PSE4 as my external editor in iPhoto. When I choose to edit a photo in PSE4, the changes are not reflected in my iPhoto library. Any ideas why? It worked in PSE3 just fine. I'd edit in PSE3, then I could see the changes when browsing iPhoto's library. Not with 4. What am I doing wrong?

    Figured itself out.

I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 plus I create PDF files for work some are scan pdf docs. When I install Photoshop Elements 10 it DOES convert all the PDF files to Photoshop Elements-10 Docs. it even changes and shows the PSE-10 Icon. So I am alway installing PSE-10 or uninstalling it. If I send the  PDF file that has been automatically converted to a PSE-10 the person I send the file to can not open it because they do not have PSE-10. What can I do to stop PSE-10 from converting my PDF files? Don't tell me to upgrade PSE-10 I tried their on-line program and  it is too advance for a hobby photographer like myself and their Help Desk is impossible to reach.
