Picking Month from Date in ABAP query

Dear All,
I want to pick month from date in a abap query but it is giving error "BDTER" is not a valid comparison operator. comparison operator.
Where i am wrong my query is below.
SELECT SUM( BDMNG ) AS BDMNGT FROM RESB INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF IT_MRP
WHERE MONTH( BDTER ) = '12'.

Date fomat is yy/mm/dd (like 20071231) after your suggestion i have modified query.
SELECT SUM( BDMNG ) AS BDMNGT FROM RESB INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF IT_MRP
WHERE BDTER+4(2) = 12.
but while compiling it is giving error Field "BDTER+4(2)" unknown.
Please suggest.

Never mind, figured out there was a lock on SQL table which caused all the problems. Once I released the lock it PowerPivot refresh started working fine.

Restrict last date of month from date picker

Hi All,
I have a requirement to restrict the date picker.
I want to allow the user to select only the last date of the month from the following four months march, June, September and December.
I have googled about this i couldn't get related that except that restrict invalid days/months.
Please suggest to find solution for this.
My Jdev version is 11.1.2.0.0

Extracting 0CALYEAR from Calendar Year/Month From-To in a query

Hi all,
I have a high granularity query which is used in a large number of workbooks. This query has a key Calendar Year/Month input everytime it's launched. The thing is I'd like to support it with an aggregate containing the data from the year 2010. As there is no way to specify a value range for 0CALMONTH in the aggregate, the only way to specify the time range is through setting 0CALYEAR to a fixed vaule 2010. But then the aggregate is not picked up when the query is launched with the key 0CALMONTH = from 01.2010 to 01.2010. What should I do to force the aggregate to be used?
I know that one way is to add the 0CALYEAR as a key year to the query but I wouldn't want to force everyone to fill it everytime they run the report.
Is there any way to make the 0CALYEAR characteristic in the query definition get the year value automatically after the user has input the Calendar Yer/Month and to remain relatively transparent at the same time? I suppose I could make it using some user exit or so but can it be made more easily?
I'm using BI7.0 with BEx 3.x (for a couple of reasons)

A user exit variable, hidden and derived from the input for 0CALMONTH, is your only option to fill the 0CALYEAR and use the aggregate. However, you should be able to do this automatically in your data model.
My data models usually consist of a mutliprovider that contains multiple infocubes each segregated by year, (with a Constant value for year assigned), and each one cube compressed by 0CALMONTH. When you query by 0CALMONTH, this model causes the query to look at only the specifc year infoprovider, and the specific partition for 0CALMONTH. I believe this is the behavior you are trying to achieve with the aggregate. It is automatic with my model.

I have a query in Informix which get the month part of a date. Please help me in converting the same to oracle.
Informix query
select month(col1 - today) from tab1;
col1 is a date field, today will yield the current date and month function will get the month of the date.
In oracle, when we subtract two dates we will get a number value, how to convert that back to date and extract the month part.
Help me?????

from tab1;
This will return a decimal value representing the months and part month between the two periods. The later date should be specified first, or the result will be a negative value.

Extract a month from date hierarchy

I have ssrs report based on cube. I have a date hierarchy where. date hierarchy is Year-Quarter-MonthYear. EG
2014-Q2-May,2014. as labels display
Values is like this:[Date].[Year to Month].[Month].&[2002]&[7]. How Can I extract month number like 7 from here so that I can do less than or equal in IIF is ssrs charts.
I want to compare months with user input month so that I can restrict data in charts. If user select march,2014. I will display data from Jan 2014- Mach 2014 for actual.

How is the user selecting the month? Is month parameter a free text field? If you're using MDX itself to populate month values then selected month value would be passed in same format itself ie [Date].[Year
to Month].[Month].&[2002]&[7] etc

I have two date characteristics Start date and Pricing date. now i need to create a query, showing the month of start date and Pricing in two seperate columns.
suppose start date = 08/15/2007
pricing date = 10/20/2007
then in the query i need to have two columns with output

For m_product_id=1531, for example, why do you want

A report is required to be made fro all the Payments of the Customers Document Type DZ
Customer Number
Sales District
County code
Payment amount: WRBTR.
As we Know there are 2 tables for the Customers IN BSEG
1. BSIS
2. BSID
Condition being : Debit./Credit Ind. : H
                         Posting Keys : 15 & 19.
Is it possible to create a query report in one feild PAYMENTS(User-defiend say in extras) to dispaly.
WRBRT of both BSIS & BSAD.
Please guide me with the logic.

Use BSAD table. It has all the fields except sales district.
Standard reports
S_ALR_87012198   : click on dynamic selection, In documents section we have document type field enter DZ.
S_ALR_87012160   : select the only customer line items, in dynamic selection enter document type DZ.

Is there a way to exclude temporary people picker fields from a query when receiving the "List View Lookup Threshold" error.

My users require the ability to select a sharepoint group from a drop down list and then be able to select a user from a people picker based on the drop down selection.    The best solution I was able to up with, was create a people picker
for each drop down selection and set the Sharepoint group field to the selected group.  All people picker filed are hidden except the one that matches the drop down selection. When creating an entry from the sharepoint list this method
works perfectly.
However, when I add the list onto a site page using an "Listview webpart", then add an infopath web part and then finally connect the two parts, I get a "List View Lookup Threshold" error when selecting an entry from the list. I
understand from the error and reading that this error is related to the number of People pickers in the list.   Is there a way to exclude temporary people picker fields from a site page query, as they are only temporary fields to allow the users
to select a person and then assign the name to another field.

In SharePoint 2013, we could manually create a list for all users. Here are the reference:
Go to Site Settings > People and Groups > SiteMembers
Modify url
http://sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=8 to
http://sp/sites/tutu/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0 , now you will see All people in this site.
Change the view to List view, and copy the listview id in the url
http://sitename/_layouts/15/people.aspx?MembershipGroupId=0&View={viewID}
Go to Settings > List settings, copy the list id in the url
http://sitename/_layouts/15/listedit.aspx?List=listeid&Source=....
Now type the address in IE:
http://sitename/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?CS=109&Using=_layouts/query.iqy&List=[LISTID]&View=[VIEWID]&CacheControl , such as

Save the owssvr.jqy from SharePoint site
Now you could see the file in your desktop with all users, save it as allusers in Excel.

How to extract month from given date in bpel??

Hi friends hi need some information regarding dates in BPEL.. Here in these I taking date as input which type is also date type.Then required output is month in number format.. Here I used Assign activity and in assign activity,I took month-from-date and passed argument to this function.But it raised an error "internal Xpath error" Any one can you give me ideas please....

First convert you date into datetime and then use the month-from-datetime function.
