Picture in "Sent" mail.

Was checking my "Sent" mail and noticed that there is a picture of me made with Photobooth or iChat (4 pics in one) that is attached at the top of every message I sent. I have no idea how it got there or how to change it or delete it. Where did this pic come from and how did it get attached to my mail messages and how can I change it?

It is NOT attached to your mail messages! It's just your user's picture. You can give all your contacts in Address Book a picture and if you receive mails from one of them their picture will also show up in Mail.

  • Removing Sunflower picture in Address area of Sent mail

My sent mail (mail application using .mac account) has a sunflower sent along with it . It is in the adress area (I have no signatures).
This can be increadibly inapropriate in certain circumstances. Serious e-mails should not have flowers.
Please, how do I remove the flower picture and prevent it from going through in my mail.
Thank you so much for any answers you can provide and taking the time to do so.

The message doesn't have a sunflower sent with the it.
When you view mail, Mail.app looks to your Address Book to see if the sender is known. If it is, it pulls the image associated with the address book entry and displays that.
However, this is all done client-side (i.e. on your machine). No remote user will see a sunflower alongside your mails - unless they have your image set to the sunflower in their address book.
If you don't want to see the sunflower yourself, change your Address Book entry to have a more appropriate picture. Otherwise, don't worry about it.

  • Can't Sync IMAP Sent Mail on E72 and other issues!

Has anybody any idea why Nokia felt it a good idea to release a phone with a mail client, that supports IMAP, but DOESN'T sync your sent mail? It is such a ridiculous omition that I am lost for words. I actually recommended the E71 to our IT department a few years ago but the mail client was so poor, we ended up getting 15 phones and 15 Profimail licences. The IT department have asked me to recommend the next phone as the E71 was a big hit and I asked them to get me this E72 to test. It is with great reluctance that I am going to try the iphone instead and recommend that as I believe the mail client on it is very good and the E72's is totally hopeless unless you go through the Nokia Messaging server, which obviously a corporate isn't going too. Before I knee jerk though, has anyone else had this issue and found a way around it?
Also, the predictive text is shocking now, the web browser is so buggy and closes without warning due to memory issues all the time.
Oh, the optical control pad is dreadful and totally useless and the select key also doesn't work in off-line mode, so the E72 is useless on a plane.
Nice to see that Nokia took the very good E71, played with it, broke it, made it far worse and buggy, stuck a new case on then released it as the E72. I remember the days that a Nokia phone worked from the minute you bought it, but now with firmware updates Nokia feel they can release half baked phones by the dozen, monthly. Pathetic.
Oh, and this is the latest firmware, too!
And one other thing, OVI Suite, PC Suite and the umpteen other applications that all do useful things....can Nokia not just release one main PC support app that works and has ALL the features under one roof? I have to installed them all on my PC as well as loads of other sync and office apps on the phone (like OVI Files) just to do the obvious things that you use a modern smartphone for.
Nokia, there is a very obvious reason why you are losing market share at the moment, and it isn't because people trust Google or like DRM and fruit pictures on their phones. Get a grip will you?
If anyone can help primarily with the Sent Mail sync issue in Nokia Email (without suggesting I route all my mail through Nokia's unreliable servers and divulge all my passwords), I would be very Grateful Indeed.

I had a number of problems setting up Google Apps with my phone. Mail, Calendar and Tasks were not syncing.
    Mail
Ok here is the solution to your sent mails problem. I have spent far too long setting up google apps to sync properly with my new E72 (latest software installed). It really is a superb phone but if Nokia is not going to fully support integration with Google Apps with a simple app then Android and Blackberry will simply take over for Apps users. It really isn't up to Google to solve this its up to Nokia. Are you going to move from Google Apps or change your phone????
I have gmail and  business google apps accounts and both are now syncing properly with what seems to be pretty good Nokia email software on the phone. This is allowing me to receive, send, view attachments, view sent mail etc. Here are the steps I took from the beginning.
    1. Enable IMAP for the google accounts. Couldn't get anything to work otherwise.
    2. Follow this instruction https://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=78887
    3. Your inbox should now be working however you now need to map the folders you want to see on your mobile. While at your inbox go to >settings>mailbox settings>what to sync>folder subscriptions.
    4. Click on Gmail and highlight the folders you want to see
    5. Go back to your inbox and go to the dragdown list of folders and highlight 'More Folders'. Under 'Gmail' you will find your sent items along with attachments etc. Problem solved. Its not a pretty solution but at this stage like me you just want something that works.
    Calendar
This was a nightmare and I am now running a third party app called Googasync which is working fine. In 10 days time I will need to buy this so if someone knows how to setup calendar syncing properly without it please let me know.
    Tasks
Googasync will not sync Tasks and I don't know if there is any app out there that will. If someone can help please let me know. Surely this should be pretty simple!?!?!
By the way I mailed Nokia support last Thursday on the above but have not received a reply.
In summary its a great phone and I've moved from a Blackerry Bold to it but I shouldn't be spending days finding workarounds!!

  • How to send a project containing multiple pictures by e-mail?

I have previously used Photoshop Album 2.0 on PC, and have just purchased an iMac and the PSE 6.0 for it.
I have a leisure-time project at hand, where I would like to send some 30 pictures for review for some people.
With Photoshop Album, I could in similar cases include all the photos in a collection and then make a small slide show out of it. the size was circa 2 Mb, with music included. Now when I try to do the same in PSE 6.0, the file size is 38 Mb. That is WAY too big to be sent my e-mail.
What do you suggest - how could I send multiple small resolution pictures by e-mail? I do not want to use web gallery. The pictures do not need to be of high resolution, but something more than thumbnails still.

    Responding to "is it safe"...
With Flickr or JAlbum you upload your images to a web host and provide a link so another person can view those pictures. Both programs have built-in ftp functions so they upload for you.
I can't think of anything about either that would be unsafe, but your images could be viewed by complete strangers if you don't mark them "private". Normally, you wouldn't care who views your images.
Google Flickr and JAlbum and follow the steps to set up the program. Both very simple. These are just two suggested ways to put your images up for review by other people. There are dozens of other ways to do it. These two are free and simple to use.
If you do want to work in Elements, and send the results as an attachment to email, then a slideshow saved in the .pdf format is the best solution.
If your images are 2mb, then you are trying to send images that are about 2000 px x 3000 px right out of the camera. That's a 10" x 6.5" image at 300 dpi. Your viewer doesn't need that large a file to see the image.
Resize those images to, say, 500 px on the longest side and your viewer will still see the same image in the same detail on his screen. The file will be just over 100 kb.
Save your original in the 2mb size, and use Save As with a different file name for the reduced size images you'll send.

  • My picture in outgoing mails

When I sent an e-mail there is a small picture in the mail which the receiver will see. How do I change this picture? At this point it is an illustration that I have chosen when I installed my new computer but I wish to change it to a picture of myself!

If I understand you correctly, that picture is not one that is actually attached to the e-mail, so nobody else sees it. It is the picture associated with your e-mail address in the Address Book, so Mail displays the picture when it shows the message.
If you want to change this picture, you can do it by double-clicking the square with the picture in it on your card in the Address Book.

  • My picture in outgoing mail?

Hi, I´m a brand new iMac (or any Mac for that matter) user and I need some help.
When I was setting everything up I had the choice to take my picture with the computers built-in cam (to be my profile pic). And so I did, but just now I realized that that picture gets sent out with every outgoing email. Is there anyway to prevent that? Not that I´m hideous or something, it´s just that I don´t want every person that I send mail to to know what I look like. :-p
    Thx for any help!
    /Anna

    Welcome to the Mac !!
You can change your picture if you want to by going into System Preferences, Accounts, Click on the picture. You will then get another chance to take a picture of yourself, or I just picked out one of the standard icons that they have to select from (no, not the cute kitty cat).
    Enjoy!

  • Ichat Image in Sent Mail

I recently started using iChat but now find the little picture (basketball) associated with my iChat account is showing up on all sent mail (using Mail).
What have I done and how do I get rid of it?
    Thanks, Phil C.

    Hello Phil,
You have not done anything. Only you see the image of the baseball. Not the recipient.
To eradicate it ( if it still bothers you ) try here...
Blue Apple > System Preferences > Accounts > Picture > Edit.
    Hope that helps some.
    Regards.

  • ICloud not showing sent mail from my iMac

Hi all, if I go to iCloud mail and send an email the recipient receives it. However it doesn't show up in my iCloud sent mail. There is sent mail present but that looks to be just emails sent from my BB or iPad. While researching this issue I found this : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3390316 So I went to Mail and yes that "store sent mail on server" was not checked. I then checked it as implied in the above link, but the sent emails still do not show up. Could anyone advise please? TIA, Terry.

I am currently running Mail.app on ML.
My Mail.app and iCloud webmail settings were already congruent with those recommended regarding saving a copy of the Sent emails [Store sent mail upon the iCloud server].
Despite this being the case, I have found that Sent messages were not been getting saved reliably in Mail.app or upon the iCloud webmail interface.
Some did get saved though - rather odd.
I don't want to call my reported email problem as fixed but it seems hardly coincidental to me that once I had chosen to unflag Store deleted messages [Trash section] upon the iCloud mail server that such messages as were sent form my two iCloud addresses messages began to be saved reliably.
Surely this is indicative of some underlying misconfiguration with the iCloud server itself as Trash messages clearly aren't Sent messages and yet messages only began to be reliably saved once I had chosen to unflag Store deleted messages. As previously stated, I already had my mailbox behaviours set to Store Sent messages upon the iCloud server, but this proved to be of no avail until I chose to unflag Store deleted messages.
See attached picture for Mailbox Behaviours.

  • Picture in my Mail messages

I just noticed in my Sent Mail messages that there's a picture in the upper right corner of the message. I've been looking all over the Mail and Systems Preferences to find it to remove it with no luck. Your help with this is most appreciated. Thanks in advance- Pete

That picture is set on your card in the Address Book.  I'm honestly not sure how to remove it, but you could replace it with something else, including a plain white rectangle.  Note, though, that it is not actually attached to your messages, it is only displayed there on your machine as a visual indicator that you sent that message.

  • Sent mail in wrong folder

I use my Virgin Media mailboxes on two devices: a Windows 8 PC using Windows Mail and an iPad, both configured to use IMAP.  The messages I send from the PC show up in the "Sent Mail" folder on both devices but the messages sent from the iPad show up as "Sent" on the iPad but in the "Sent Messages" folder on the PC.  How can I change this so that all sent messages from both devices show up in the "Sent Mail" folder?
I'd be very grateful for any help.

I received a helpful reply on the Virgin Media forum which solved this problem.  If anyone else has the same problem, you need to make the following change on the iPad.
    Settings
    Mail etc.
    select account
    click Account
scroll down to Advanced and click
click Sent Mailbox and choose Sent Mail

  • Sent mail going to inbox, all replies as separate emails

downloaded thunderbird to new computer. three big problems: 1 - address book has been lost 2 - all sent mail is going both to sent mail folder ans also to inbox 3 - all replies and conversations are showing up as separate emails instead of being part of one email thread. i.e., it is a total mess. I have configured the settings correctly I believe. what is going on?

Hmmmm...... perhaps if you took the time to read instructions.
Did you save the add-on XPI file and install it in Thunderbird like the instructions said. Or try and install it in Firefox, get the inevitable failure and complain here that it is not compatible. The web site offers instructions. Perhaps if you read these. http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html That add-on works with the current version.
"You don't recall any read only" Right click any file you copied off the DVD. Select properties and there you have a read only flag.
Do you have anti virus software running? Disable any part of it involving SPAM, TRASH Phishing and email.

  • Iphone 3, sync'd with Exchange, sent mail goes to draft folder

Sent Mail (Exchange Account), is going to the drafts folder

NOTE: This also applies to Exchange 2010
You may want to check that you are getting Event ID 15002 or 15003 logged to the Application event log first before making this change.
    See this
    ExchangeServerPro article for reference.
    Also, see this
Krudler blog post for shortened version.
Please ensure if you are modifying the
"PercentageDatabaseDiskSpaceUsedHighThreshold" value in the EdgeTransport.exe.config file, you should take into consideration the percentage value notified in the Event Log.
    See this
MS Technet article for more technical information.
I had the same error as Shimon1 when using the MailFlow Tool in Exchange, however I did not have event 15002 in my Application Event Log. I resolved this problem by:
Modify the TCP/IP network protocol settings using the following commands
netsh int tcp set global chimney=disabled
netsh int tcp set global rss=disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
netsh int ip set global taskoffload=disabled
I noticed when viewing individual messages in the queue in Exchange Management Console Queue Viewer, they had this message:
"Error: 4.3.2 432 STOREDRV.Deliver; recipient thread limit exceeded"
This was resolved with the help of this
MS blog on Exchange SP1 improvements.
I made the following addition to the EdgeTransport.exe.config file.
        <add key="RecipientThreadLimit" value="2" />
        <add key="MaxMailboxDeliveryPerMdbConnections" value="3" />

  • Mutt/Offlineimap Sent mail is showing up in Gmail Inbox

    Hi,
I am just starting my journey with mutt and quite like the interface thus far but I am having trouble with sent emails showing up in my Gmail inbox.  It is a little annoying to always have my sent emails appear as unread in my inbox.  In my search for a solution I have found that this behavior sometimes occurs if you have Gmail filters that are set to never send to spam, I checked and do not have any such filters.  This could also happen if I had $record set, but I have specifically unset record.  My muttrc and offlineimaprc are as follows (I used several tutorial sites to help create these) (I have hashed out some personal details):
    muttrc

I use msmtp to send the emails (and they do send) but as far as I know that program should have nothing to do with my folder labeling.
What happens exactly:  When in mutt, I press 'm' and compose an email and send with 'y'.  Oddly enough, the email appears in my gmail inbox (the webmail) even before I sync mutt with offlineimap (I don't automatically sync).  Once I sync, I see the email in both my sent mail and inbox.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated

I have a requirement to update/ append the sent mail like a trail.Since i am sending mails using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1, how can i update new contents to sent mails using this RFC???Please help me.

  • Mail indexing and lost sent mail

since yesterday, mail has been repeatedly indexing, always getting stuck on one particular email and taking over 1/2 an hour each time before allowing access to the program. Finally, I was able to run a search and delete the offending email before the indexing hung. I assumed this would resolve the problem. But no. It still gets stuck at the exact same point.
On the next pass I selected rebuild mailbox on the sent mailbox as this is where the particular email was. Now all the sent mail foir that account is gone. Yet indexing still reports as stuck on the very same email as before.
How can I get my sent mail back? How can I stop this endless indexing?
    G4/400, G4/dual 867   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

I am having same/similar problem with Mail 1.3.11 on 10.3.9. If I even open the Sent Mail box I just get the text that Mail is 'sorting messages' and in the right of the bar I get the spinning segmental timer but nothing happens. It says I have 400+ messages in the Sent folder but never lists them.
I cannot quit Mail either and have to Force Quit all the time. Sorry to say that I have started using Thunderbird with no problems but Mac Mail is my default mail app.
I click the segmental timer in top right of bar and up comes a list of active processes that are currently running. I click the big red Stop icons on this list but this doesn't stop them - things just grind to a halt. Mail doesn't quit/hang but just freezes.
    Any ideas very greatly welcomed!
