Pivot table formatting

Hi,
i've a request composed by 3 union. It returns following results:
Description Value
Desc1 8,7
Desc2 9,4
I've created a pivot table. I've applied formatting to Column Description clicking on section "Formatting headers" with a background color = blue. In this way formatting it has been applied both to column Description both for first row and for second row. Can I apply a different formatting for each single row? Thanks
Giancarlo

  • Question about exporting FBL3N data in Pivot table format

    Dear all
I have a question about the "exporting file" function of ECC 6.0.
We started to use ECC 6.0 system, and it appears that we are no longer able to export "FBL3N data" to a local PC in pivot table format.
Is there a way to do it?
We used to be able to do so when the system is 4.6.
    I appreciate your support!
    Kind regards

    Dear:
You can do that. Execute report FBL3N with desired GL account in it. After when report has been executed right click on it. There will be an option Spread Sheet. Select all available format. In drill down select 08 (Excel in existing XXL format) and press OK. There you will get pivot table option for downloading., Hope this will help you resolve your query.

  • Customizing Pivot Table format in answers

    Hi,
I have some questions about formats of a Pivot Table.
    1) I want to change the position of row headings in Pivot Table view, show them on the right side of the table. Is there any way to do that? The reason is to show "results" column (sum on the columns in results tab) only for one part of the table, like | data | results | data |, combining two reports with the same rows edge to edge. Maybe it's a bad idea, but I don't know better way...
    2) In the report we make links on values in the table grid to another report (detailed). But while exporting to Excel they became not numbers (and not summable), because it adds a space after a number. Overriding the default format by "number format" is not helpful. Can I control format while exporting?

I'd make sure the default compound view has only the objects you want to show (ie pivot, title), Remove the table and your all set. That should do it.

  • Possible to do conditional formatting in pivot table?

    Hello,
I would like to do color row or column values based on certain conditions in my pivot table. I noticed the field tags in the pivot are not your standard <?value1?> but rather they are structured like <?./H?> or <?./M1?>
Is it possible to do this? As an example, if a row = '001' i want the entire row green, or if a single measure value in a cell = '0' i would like to color it red.

Check the blog http://blogs.oracle.com/xmlpublisher/2010/03/new_skool_crosstabbing.html for explanation on those fields and try to format them accordingly.

  • How to export the created Pivot table by using Power Pivot into separate excel file in the same format?

    Hi PowerPivot experts,
I have created more than 60 pivot tables in multiple sheets by using PowerPivot work book. now i want delivery all the pivot table in excel document to my end user by email.
I want send only the Pivot tables which i created using PowerPivot data model instead of sending the whole model file since its very heavy.
I have tried with export option in Excel 97-2003, its works fine but not getting exact pivot format which i created and its displays as value.
My aim to send pivot table that i created format but not whole file with source data.
I would be really grateful if advise me to fix it out.

    Hi Robert,
I don't think it is a good idea to deliver all PivotTable report to end user via E-mail, and SQL Server PowerPivot for Excel doesn't support to deliver PivotTable report to end user without PowerPivot data inside in the data model. For example, I suppose
we create a PivotTable to display the SalesAmount of US in pervious years(eg:2012, 2013, 2014), how can we dynamic show the value based on end user selection without PowerPivot data model data(The PivotTable report don't have data source)?
So, one workaround that we can create a shared folder to store all of PowerPivot report for all of end user in the domain environment, and then inform end users to copy the PowerPivot reports what they want via E-mail.
If the end users aren't in domain environment, we can implement the VPN soltion to achieve this.

  • Problem with format displayed in output while using Pivot table

    Hi All,
I am using Pivot table in 10.1.3.4.1 version for displaying dynamic type data. Data is coming fine but it is coming in very strange format. I have following two tables in my RTF Template.
    Table1 using Pivot table
    !http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2570/4092137243_924cca92ca.jpg!
    Table 2 - A normal table
    !http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/6651/table3p.jpg!
In the output PDF, “Table 2” shows data fine but “Table 1” shows very strange kind of behaviour if the columns exceed more than 5 in “Table 1” . If columns in Pivot table output are more than 5[at present according to my Table1 size] then columns more than 5 are shown on next page after Table 2 instead of displaying inside outer table “Table1“. Anyone has any idea what is the reason behind this strange behavior and how can I avoid it ?
    Thanks

    Hi All,
I tried including following piece of code in RTF as mentioned here: [http://winrichman.blogspot.com/2009/05/cross-tab-by-limiting-number-of-colums.html] but as a result it showed blank page in report. Nothing else.

    17     1016     Red Green
    15     3456     White
    19     8644     Grey
    12     41605.886     White
    10     52647.007     White
This is possible only through pivot table whereby country and period dimesions have been put in pivot.
Also there is a requirement to paint the background colour in Red Amber Green ... and for that I ahve to create a new column where after comparing i can put the status as Red ..Amber ..Green and based on the cross column conditional formating I can paint the fact value like 21.00% (shown above) .
But when I am importing that table in pivot view all the backgrounf colour vanishes. since cross column conditional formating is not supported in pivot.
Is there any way out to achieve this requirement .
    Thanks

  • Formatting pivot tables (obiee 11g)

Hi, I'm trying to find good ways to format pivot table results in 11g. Can someone help answer the following questions? Note that I'm putting the "measures" label into the row position, which allows me to format measures differently from each other.
    1. I'd like to put blank rows into the output to space the report. I tried creating a dummy "spacer" measure and then setting display:none in the CSS style. However, this leaves an ugly blank spot that has a gray color in the output. Is there an easier way just to add blank spaces between rows?
    2. The default grid lines on all pivot tables are really dark. If you're a Stephen Few afficianado, they really interfere with reading the numbers. Is there a simple way to default pivots to have less obvious grid lines?
    3. Is there a way to turn off the "word wrap = TRUE" for everything? I've tried setting default number formats for all items to have word wrap turned off...I don't know who would EVER want minus signs wrapping around in numbers...despite this, any new metric I create ALWAYS seems to have stupid word wrapping turned on. If anything, I'd like the default to be off for all items.
    Thank you very much!

  • Data format in pivot table calculated item

    Hi All,
I've got a pivot table with a dimension on rows and a dimension on columns and a measure. I have a "new calculated item" based on the dimension on the columns which does the following: ( ($2-$1) / ($1) ) *100
I want this calculated item shown as a percentage like 1,2% but the measure must stay a whole number like 1234 (no decimal places or percentage symbols) any suggestions on how to achieve this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Gilles

    Hi Kishore,
It is not helpful, I mean, it doesn't solve my problem. But nice post!
What I have is the following:
    --------C1------C2-----C3
    R1|--123--|--345--|--678--|
    R2|--124--|--346--|--679--|
    R3|--125--|--347--|--670--|
What I want is the following:
    --------C1------C2-----C3---------calculated item
    R1|--123--|--345--|--678--|--(($2-$1) / ($1) ) *100)
    R2|--124--|--346--|--679--|
    R3|--125--|--347--|--670--|
the column results must remain in the same format, but the calculated item must be in the format %9.99 (to see the percentage change)
    any other suggestions?

  • Conditional Format in Pivot Table

    Thanks in advance...
I created report like below in pivot table
    _____Year 2009
    ______Period 3
    Name Mark
    Aju__ 100
    Alex_ 75
    Mick_ 80
    Rabi_ 90
    sam_ 80
from this report I need to highlight the entire row of 'Alex' and 'Sam' ...
but its work in 'Compound Layout'
How could I do this ?
    Regards,
    Selva

    Hi Selva,
Conditional formatting is bit difficult for your requirement in Pivot table, because there some limitations in conditional formatting of pivot table.
You can select the entire Pivot table and apply the conditional formatting but..conditions will only format specific Cells .. and can not format entire row.. (for exmp. it will highlight only cell of alex. and not entire row of alex)
    Hope this will help..
    Thanks.

  • Above Average Conditional Formatting in Pivot Table off Row Total

I have a pivot table where the months are column labels and the actual issues are Row labels. This is inverted from a normal pivot table where the months are usually the row labels.
Basically I want the table to look at the value in the Values cells to look at the row Average instead of the column Average. Is there a way to do this?
I've highlighted all my Value cells (showing the sum of the issue for a specific month) and then applied the Above Average conditional formatting selecting 'All cells showing "Average of #of Tickets" values for "Issue" and "Month".
This works where the cells' value is greater than the columns average, but I want it to look at the row average instead.
Is this possible? I thought it be simple, but I can't figure it out. The table will grow every month width wise and possibly adding new issues each month.

Hi Vetsrini, thanks for the reply. I'm using the crosstab feature of BI Publisher template builder in MS Word to create the pivot table. I have a field called ACTIVITY as the row, and I want to bold the font and set the color as red if the ACTIVITY equals to certain text (such as if ACTIVITY = 'A' then bold & red). Can you please tell me how that can be achieved? I tried using the conditional formatting feature of the template builder, but it only works if I use it in a table, and not in pivot table.
    Thanks a lot.

  • Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel

I have a simple report built using pivot table ( OBIEE 11.1.1.5.0)
1 Metric and 1 dimension using pivot table. and I duplicated the metric column and change it to % column.(Show data as % of column). SO far so good. Below is the snapshot
    http://tinypic.com/r/2s14xa9/7
Now i download the report in excel and all the % values are messed up . Below is how it looks
    http://tinypic.com/r/bede90/7
I tried messing with data formats etc..nothing works.. I cannot add a custom column format to the metric column since it will impact the derived % column.
Is this a bug ?Any pointers ..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Follow up this SR:
SR 3-5060435331: Calculated Percentage Columns in Pivot Table loose formating in Excel
Workaround: (not sure may be give a try)
also give a try like below one then try to download it may work.
In that % column -->add the below statement in the Custom CSS section of the column properties:
    mso-number-format:"\@"
    Refer snapshot here:
    http://i53.tinypic.com/a09kqv.jpg
This will treat the data in the column as text while downloading to excel, hence retaining any leading or trailing spaces.
    Thanks

  • Formatting metrics in a pivot table differently based on a unit of measure

I have a generic metrics table with columns for METRIC NAME, UNIT OF MEASURE, ACTUAL VALUE, BUDGETED VALUE, and PRIOR YEAR VALUE. Each metric has a unit of measure associated to it, and I need to be able to format these metrics differently in the same field based on that unit of measure.
For example, I may have an actual value for a "cost per unit" that needs to be formatted in dollars to 3 decimal places (Unit of measure = USD3) while another metric may be a simple "number of items" that needs to be formatted as numberic to 0 decimal places (NUM0).
Has anyone ever formatted the same column in OBIEE with different data formats depending on the unit of measure needed? I know I can conditionally format the cell with colors or images, but I haven't figured out how to change the data format in a table or pivot table.

    Hi,
I've read all the tips that are offered in this forum. I tried all the solutions provided here, but I can not get the grand total formatted conditionally, what I get is the following error nell'answer:
DXE compiler error. No table 'GTGT' found in DXE. Source name: DxeAPI. XML: None
    Error details
    Codici di errore: YV3KVTDM
    Location: saw.hypercube.dxeApi, saw.httpserver.processrequest, saw.rpc.server.responder, saw.rpc.server, saw.rpc.server.handleConnection, saw.rpc.server.dispatch, saw.threadpool.socketrpcserver, saw.threads
I'm use the version: OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2
Anyone have any ideas for me?!
