Pixilated result in IE

Im useing a jquery script to slide between divs with a fade in/out effect between each div
this is the code
<script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/jquery-1.4.2.js"></script>
<script>
$(function(){
    $ds = $('.com');
    $ds.hide().eq(0).show();
    setInterval(function(){
        $ds.filter(':visible').fadeOut(function(){
            var $div = $(this).next('div');
            if ( $div.length == 0 ) {
                $ds.eq(0).fadeIn();
            } else {
                $div.fadeIn();
    }, 5000);
</script>
this is the Site
http://www.swcwebdesign.co.uk/index.html
The part of the site in question is the top right (next to the logo) where client comments are displayed
in any browser other than IE the transition between them is clean
but in IE as the divs are fadeing in/out the text becomes pixilated
i have sene the same problem when using IE propriatory filters such as text shaddow and blur
What is causing this

I'm not an expert on Netscape, but I would guess that you're problems are simply caused by the differences between IE and NS.
It is very difficult to write (functional) JS code that works perfectly between the two of them and I bet that JSTab isn't written in such a way.
You may want to try using your own tab object, we do this by creating a page for each tab and making the actual tabs be links to each page. This avoids the use of JavaScript.
Good Luck!!!

  • I am having trouble using reverb of any kind; it does not sound natural, but rather "pixilated." Does anyone have any ideas for a solution? I have used Silververb and Space Designer and am having the same problem...

    I am using Logic Pro 9 with two MXL 990 microphones in my piano and a Rode NT1A for vocals. I have tried recording with added reverb and keeping getting not a natural reverb sound, but a rather "pixilated" one that does not sound natural. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this issue? I have tried using Silververb and Space Designer, and both result in the same problems. Thank you!

    This is asking for the impossible! It does not sound natural because maybe it isn't and in judging so whats your reference anyway. If you are in dire need of some natural sounding room you can go and record it yourself. But even then, the chances that it sounds like you imagined it, are very slim.
    There are very decent sounding reverberation plugins, based on artificial reverb generators or convolution-style, the last one is said to sound more 'natural' then the first one. Be it as it maybe, it really is like cooking food. You got all the ingredients for this delicious taste at hand and believe it or not to reach a satisfying result this is not enough, because if you do not mix the ingredients in the right proportion you will end up with a different dish you thought you'll get. This is exactly the same when one would mix audio, I dare say.
    So treat yourself to some good ingredients and the rest is up to you, namely: taste and experience!
    And looking at some of my past music productions I always find the same plugins for the 'ambient' task:
    Altiverb by Audio Ease when I have acoustic ensembles (classical music mostly), the Sony Oxford Reverb in studio productions, Bricasti when I have to deal with drums and MMultiBandReverb from MeldaProduction for all-round stuff. Thats the base I start from, after that I can end up with dozen Reverb plugins which basically all are doing the same thing but just in a tiny different way.

  • PS opens vector smart object all pixilated

    I have this problem when using graphics from Illustrator as vector smart objects in Photoshop. I have followed tones of heated discussions on this but I haven't got any further. So here is what I do following the steps on the PS help: I copy graphics in AI and paste them in PS as smart object. A layer will be added that even has the name vector smart object but the graphic itself is all pixilated. Now the size of my PS-file is 150X150 Pixels with a resolution of 300. I need this size because I want to implement the file into my website and the layout requires this size for all my graphics. I would say it doesn't matter much what size the file is anyway since according to the PS help whatever vector smart object I place in Photoshop it won't change image quality when transformed. Therefor I'd say that not even the small file should be a problem here. But obviously there is something not working... because even when, to compare, I paste the graphic as pixel it shows the same result. Strange enough that I have used this vector smart objects before and it worked just fine... So I tried to paste the graphic in different ways, saving it as pdf in AI and then placing it in PS, insert it directly as smart object, making sure the file handling and clipboard references are adjusted, and finally after no success trashing the preferences in both applications. Still not closer to a satisfying result. I attach the graphics (first the AI graphic, then the vector smart object from PS) to show the difference and maybe there is someone out there that can tell what I am doing wrong. By the way I just converted the files to jpegs to post them here so the sizes might not match on the screen...

    One other thing to check...
    Are you viewing the display at 100%?
    Photoshop's OpenGL-based image resizing algorithms are smoother and fuzzier than they used to be (or than they are with OpenGL disabled).  What I'm getting at is that you may be perceiving fuzziness in the display that's not really there in the image.
    How does the fuzziness look if you zoom in a lot?

    Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
    However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD)  - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
    Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
    Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.

  • Problem with photo pixilation

    I've just switched to using firefox instead of internet explorer.
    Now on my Twitter and Facebook pages the photo pixilation is off resulting in bright green texturing in shadowed areas. Not sure what to do about it?

    That can be caused by a problem with the color profile for your display monitor or color profiles embedded in images.<br />
    You can disable color management to test that.<br />
    You can set the pref gfx.color_management.mode to 0 on the about:config page to disable Color Management.<br />
    You need to close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.<br />

  • When I insert photos into Premiere Elements timeline they become pixilated.  Has anyone a remedy?

    The photos I insert into the timeline in Elements become pixilated.  They looked fine in the organiser.  Has anyone a remedy to this problem please?

    Judie Sutton
    Thanks for the additional information.
    If rendering the Timeline content of those photos does not resolve the photo pixelation issue as per SG's question, then please read on.
    a. Do you have a mixed Timeline of photos and video? If so, what is the format of the video and how many of these
    2799 x 3500 photos are included? Do you get photo pixelation whether you have 1 or many of these photos on the Timeline?
    b. What happens to the Edit area monitor view of one of these photos if you right click the Edit area monitor, select Playback Quality, and then compare the choices of Automatic vs Highest Quality? If you right click the Edit area monitor and select Magnification, do you find the Magnification set at the default "Fit"?
    c. Have the photos been edited in Photoshop before being imported in Premiere Elements. If so, what was the extent of the Photoshop editing including effects applied and color profile?
    More later depending on your results and follow up.
    Thanks.

    My daughter's older Ipod Touch is having a problem with images becoming pixilated when taken from an e-mail and placed into her camera roll. ( She wants to put on Instagram ) Any help?

    I think that may be a consequence of the email provider she is using. Some services (AOL is one example) inspect and modify email attachments, particularly photos, resulting in reduced resolution compared to the email that was sent.
    The iPod does not do this. The resolution of the picture in the email she receives will be identical to what is imported.

  • Pixilation on final video (on dvd)

    Here's my problem - I am working on a video project on Studio 2. My mac had an operating system problem, and I took it to a shop to get fixed. Something with a missing startup file.
    But what happened was I lost some video. I was able to recover a lot of it with Data Rescue II, but some of it was missing. I had a backup on our network, and I stored it as Mpeg 4, per request of the IT department.
    So to fill in the missing video clips, I edited in the mpeg 4 (which was compressed) and when I run it through compressor and burn to DVD, the mpeg4 sections are really pixilated.
    I am trying the sharpen filter on the affected areas, and I'm not sure how that will work. I've also thought about editing the mpeg4 clips in DVD studio (not through compressor) and assemble the story in the timeline mixing the good, compressed footgage with the mpeg4, which has already been compressed.
    Any ideas on how to make all of this work without pixilation? It looks fine on the monitor, but its very obvious on a TV.

    You need to check the resolution of the source MP4 clips. Mpeg 4 can store resolutions that range from tiny to 1080p+. So while you can get a good result with MP4 sources, it certainly doesn't guarantee the result because there are so many other factors.
    Compressor can be your friend here, helping to upscale the source files a bit better than FCP, but honestly you're going to suffer no matter what. It's very very hard to put back information that's no longer there.

  • Windows/Status Bar/Icons = big and pixilated

    I unplugged my computer. When I turned it back on all the windows and everything is really pixilated and big. It's like everything is zoomed in. Except that it isn't. Everything in the system preferences seems to be normal, zoom is off, resolution is right, text size is normal. I don't know what it is? Can anyone help? Anyone know what it could be?

    It sounds like you are using an LCD monitor, correct? If so, you probably have the OS X display resolution set to something other than the monitor's native resolution -- if you do this on an LCD monitor, the result is a blurry screen -- photographic images (like your wallpaper) won't appear blurry, but icons and fixed-sized graphical UI elements will.
    Go into System Preferences -> Displays, select the Display tab, and make sure the Resolution is set to your LCD's "native" resolution (which you can find your monitor's manual).

  • Pixilation after compression

    I am exporting a dolby 2.0 file and mpeg-2 files with Final Cut Pro, set at "DVD Best Quality 90 minute- 16:9." And then importing them into DVD Studio Pro.
    Yet I get pixilation during the high action scenes of my film. Any way to change the compression rate in DVD Studio Pro? Any other suggestions to rid of pixilation?
    Powerbook G4 1.67   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   1.5 GB DDR

    Why are you exporting to MPEG? Try exporting to a
    quicktime. DVD Studio Pro can handle that.
    I was under the impression that I had to go to MPEG for best quality. True? This is for my master DVD of my film to go to festivals. Do you suggest another setting other then "DVD Best Quality 90 minutes."
    And I have exported to Quicktime using H.264 and had the same result. However, during this previous export the keyframes setting was at 24. Will trying this again at "all" solve my problem?
    Note: It takes me at least 6 hours to re-export on my limited system.

  • Pixilation / Blockyness on After Capture

    Hi,
    I've searched all over the web for an answer to my problem but to no avail. I think it's possible I'm searching the wrong things, so I decided to annoy everyone and just ask everywhere!  Here's my problem as concise as I can put it -
    I'm working with FCP 7.  I'm capturing footage that was shot on a Canon XHA1s (but in SD not HD, yeah, yeah, archaic I know) on minidv.  I'm using the same camera to log and capture it into FCP via firewire. The footage was shot in SD on the 25p setting on the camera. PAL.
    When I view the footage on a television it looks ok.  Not great, but I have a prob with digital anyways, never think it looks good.  Back to the point, it looks ok, not too blocky.  When I look at it through the Log and Capture window in FCP it looks the same.  So far so good.  But then I capture it...
    When I view the resulting clip in the viewer window (not even on the timeline, so no sequence setting prob) it looks really crap.  Block and pixilated.  As I said to my brother, it looks like I'm viewing it through one of those old 'moving pictures' you used to get as kids, the ones where you slightly change the angle and it looks like it moves.
    Anyway, I'll try attach a screen grab of both the Log and Capture window and the Viewer window so you can see the difference.  You notice it on the edges of stuff like the book on the table or the circular seats in the background.  I'll also attach a screen grab of the clip properties.
    I hope this is a really stupid mistake I've made and someone will be able to give me a simple solution, fingers crossed! I'm prepared to look stupid.
    Thanks

    >I am not familiar with that camera but you have said you shot to mindv tape using "SD." That's not eough information, really.<
    What more info do you need?  Ain't an expert (hence being on here looking for answers)  but if I know it I'll give it.  Shot on minidv tapes, standard definition, 25p, long play... can't think what else...
    >The original files on the camera tapes are imported directly and precisely into FCP as copies of the files. Unless you speficially applied a transcode or conversion process to the import, what you see is what came off the tape.<
    I havnt "knowingly" applied any transcode or conversion.  Not being a techie I just use the default log and capture settings that Final Cut tells me is right for my camera and media.  Under "Audio/Video Setting" => "Capture Presets" I use the DV PAL 48 kHz Anamorphic preset.  If there is anything within that setting that shouldnt be there I would love to know.  If I edit that preset it says the aspect ratio is "CCIR 601 / DV PAL (5:4)" whicjh sounds grand.   The Digitizer is "DV Video.  It acknowledges my camera with the correct name.  The Compressor (where I think things are going wrong) is "DV-PAL" with the Quality slider up at 100% and the FPS at "25"  all of which sounds peachy.  The "Limit Data Rate" radio button is unchecked so everything should work out fine, what I've seen on the tape should be in Final Cut but, hard to explain without being able to show people, but it's not.
    Didnt shoot H.264.   The Canon XHA1s is a similar pro-sumer camera to the XL2, except it has a non-interchangable lens and the ability to shoot in HD (which I didn't do).  I have an XL2 aswell, used it at the same event as the XHA1, shot with the same settings (SD, 25p etc) and it has the same problem when I go to log and capture, so the prob aint outside Final Cut.
    Thanks for your help, I know how much of a pain it is trying to solve techie probs at a remove, almost impossible, just thought someone else might identify with the prob and have a ready solution.

    You can seach the net for solutions like this one http://appletvvpn.com/how-to-connect-apple-tv-2-to-vpn/ another idea is to use a PC as the control and fit that with a wireless card and set up a ad hoc wireless network that the Apple TV uses.

  • Refresh of Data in Xcelsius from Web Intelligence Results

    Hello,
    I am new to the forum but not to Business Objects/Xcelsius.  I attended the SAP Sapphire Event last May and spent time in the Business Objects lab.  Two Product Managers demonstrated how I would be able to refresh the data in an Xcelsius dashboard using Live Office by retreiving results from a Webi document without refreshing the Webi query.
    For example, my Webi document contains 100,000 result rows.  I want to be able to select a dropdown in my dashboard and have Live Office retreive only a subset of the 100,000 rows.  This being done without having the Webi query being refreshed from the database.  The Webi query would be refreshed nightly.
    The Product Managers advised that this functionality would be available in Service Pack 3 or before.  As of now I cannot find out how to make this work.  Any help or information would be appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hello Charles,
    WebIntelligence Input Controls are a way to enhance and customize user experience with report filters, they are therefore based on report filters and the feature is more focused on user interface & experience rather than exposition outside web intelligence.
    Anyway, AFAIK, report filters are not available from Live Office report parts, you can only filter content with prompts, which requires the document to be refresh from the database, which has a direct impact on performance and scalability for consumers.
    However, if you are with WebIntelligence XI 3.1 SP2 you have the alternative to publish from WebI Rich Client, report elements (any table or chart) as web services (called BI Services).
    This tool is based on Qaaws technology, and share some of its features (main being that is uses the same Xcelsius Data Manager connection), it exposes a large part of WebI interactions to external consumers (esp. Xcelsius) : report filters, drill, prompts.
    Besides this tool provides a set of call input parameters to tune web service consumption for best performance and scalability, enabling to leverage WebI document management features like scehduling, publishing and refresh, so consumers can balance performance with real-time data.
    More information is available from WebIntelligence Rich Client user documentation from section sharing webi content with other web applications.
    I recommend you install the latest fix pack (SP2.5 and above), as some initial fixes were required to ensure full compatibility with Xcelsius.
    Hope that helps,
    David.

    Firefox allows to select part of a word. You can select a word with a double click and use Shift + left click to set the end of the selection, so you need to click at the end of the last word instead of in it.

  • Sales Analysis Report - Items -- blank result

    Hi,
    I'm testing a setup and running the sales analysis report. It works for the Customer version but I get no results when running on Items.
    I'm on SBO 2007A SP01 PL07. There are open and closed invoices for inventory items; no credit memos have been posted. All Item type invoices.
    When I run by Customer, I get the correct data - open and closed invoices for that customer.
    When I run by Items, I get no results. The date range is the same for both reports.
    When I run the purchase analysis on Items, I get data for the same items I am trying to see in the sales analysis.
    Any ideas what could be causing this?
    Thank you,
    Heather

    HI Gordon,
    I left the default settings:
    - Annual Report, Invoices, Individual Display, No Totals
    - Posting Date:  whole fiscal year
    - Main selection:  left blank/default (group = all, no properties)
    I have double/triple/quadruple-check even the Secondary SElection to make sure there's nothing there.
    I have also run it on Due Date instead of Posting Date, still no results (if run on Items).
    As I mentioned, the selection criteria is what I want but for some reason that one version, Items, does not work. The other 2 tabs work with the same selection.
