PL/SQL Functions Signature ODBC

Hi All,
I4m calling pl/SQL functions from ODBC. I have two functions with different signature:
PACKAGE pgtest
BEGIN
function f1(p1 OUT NUMBER) -- Function A
return NUMBER;
function f1(p1 OUT NUMBER, -- Function B
p1 OUT NUMBER,)
return NUMBER;
END:
I want to call Function B via ODBC, I4m using the signature with two function parameters. (SQLPrepare,
SQLBindParameter, SQLExecute)
ODBC ever fails, it just sees Function A and produces an error due to incorrect signature.
When I switch the sequence of the functions in the PL/SQL package, all runs well!
Does anyone know, why ODBC / PL/SQL acts like this?

Sorry, this is not mapped in the ODBC driver--none of the object types are. The spec doesn't really account for them.

Problem when calling a return type BOOLEAN SQL Function in a package

I am having problem when trying to call a SQL function in a package with return type BOOLEAN
The SQL function signature is as follows

I get the following exception, i tried changing the sql type(registerOutParameter) from boolean to bit but i still getting this exception.
But when i call any other functions with return type other than boolean they work perfectly fine.
Please can anyone help me fix this issue, i am not sure if its anything to do with vendor JDBC classes?

Calling function - SQL Developer works - ODBC error

Hello,
I'm trying to use a new function like this:
EXECUTE zUpdateUser ('xxyyzz-2205','SEAAN009','45SKNYE','E')
It works fine in Oracle SQL Developer but when I type the same command in DaFT or WinSQL that connect to the DB using ODBC I get an error message back:
[Oracle][ODBC]Syntax error or access violation.
I'm using the Oracle 10g Client and ODBC driver.
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

Error when connecting to SQL*PLUS via ODBC to Excel

When I try to connect to SQL*PLUS via ODBC to Excel with "connect scott/tiger@odbc:libro" I get the following error:
ORA-03121: no interface driver connected - function not performed

SQL Server objects are commonly case sensitive, so please surround the column and table names by double quotes:
SELECT "Type_PK_ID" FROM "dbo"."boundaries"@sqlserver
SIDE NOTE: Oracle is by default not case sensitive and all object names are stored in upper case. To get case sensitive objects they need to be surrounded by double quotes. In HSODBC case sensitive table names were commonly found even when not surrounded by double quotes as the gateway used internal SQL Server methods to find the correct table nameing - this method does not work for column names. So to be able to query a case sensitive column it needs to be surrounded by double quotes and the table name must be written as stored in the source database.

Error PLS-00306 during calling PL/SQL function from Java

I am facing a problem during call of oracle PL/SQL function from java using CallableStatement.
I receive following error message.
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06550: line 1, column 13:

As per above error EXPORT_HIST_ALARMS_FUNC in oracle has this signature.

I have run this function directly from oracle with three parameters and run successfully and finally it returns string.
But I am unable to figure out why it doesn't run from above java code.
Please help regarding this.

In Data quality there is no inbuild function for converting hijri date to gregorian date . we have the function for converting julian date to gregorian date.

SQL Function DAYNAME( )

Id like to use the SQL Function dayname, to extract items in my database which occur on a particular day of the week, e.g. all events on Wednesday....currently im using the jdbc:odbc bridge to MS Access...i get undefined function error...am i just limited because of the MS Access, or can i not use this function at all?
here is my test query, just to see if i could get the name of the day (i realize i am not querying for the dayname here, just trying to see if the function works):

Here's the value of your query before preparing it:
select * from cs_test where Start_Time < DateAdd("s",-19800,now()) AND End_Time > DateAdd("s",-19800,now())My SQL refererence doesn't have anything about functions called DateAdd or now. It might be Microsoft specific, in which case when your organization converts to another database your query is going to stop working. Don't use vender specific extensions.
Was your intention to call a Java method called DateAdd or now? Then your problem is a few missing quotes. Otherwise, I'm sorry I can't be of more help.

I am having a problem inserting/updateing date field of MS Access database with JDBC. I have tried several solutions. Serveral Field formats in the db and several methods with java. I will post my most recent attempt. I can read from the database I just can't write the date to the db, though I can write to any other field with a different datatype.

I can insert a new row and add all the fields (includeing date (as string)), but I have to use SQL statements. I cannot get the result set functions to work.
I can retieve a rs just fine and print all the contents of the rs.

Please not that I am insertin the query into a table called Query_list and the page item values into the table called Debug thru the pl/sql function which returns teh query.
Now I select the data from the debug tables.

Passing Multiple Values from a worksheet to PL/SQL function.

Hi All,
Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
I will try to explain the scenario:
We have a crosstab report that showing all the customer details, deposit sum of a customer in each date in a date range selected. With the customer details we are showing the Rank of a customer based on the deposit in the latest date selected. Filtering is based on the rank, ie Top50 or Top60 etc.( As I said rank is calculating based on the deposit in the latest date).This is working fine.
Now the new requirement is to : For example, in Top50 report, list all the customers, who were in the Top50 list, in any of the dates selected. We are able to display the daywise rank, but when giving a condition like daywiserank <= 50, the result becomes uncertain. Some blank lines, wrong amounts etc..
As a work around we tried to find out the rank in a PL/SQL function. But the issue there is : we have some multiple value parameters used in the worksheet.
Is there any way to pass multiple values selected in a worksheet to a PL/SQL function ?
Or any other work arounds for the scenario explained?

Yes the query we are using is correct. The output QUERY of discoverer gives correct results in Sqlplus.

Is it possible to show the results returned by a
PL/SQL function that returns a refcursor ?

I just wanted to bring to the ApEx developers something I just noticed... I use the Shared Components > Database Object Dependencies report to make sure all is well before moving applications into production.
The Parsing Errors feature of that report is WONDERFUL! But it seems to be overlooking buttons that use a conditional display based on PL/SQL Function Body Returning a Boolean.

I think the place is perfect, but I read once somewhere that "Bug" or "Bug Report" should be in the subject so that's easier to find for the Oracle guys.

Interactive report from PL/SQL function

Hello All,
i have a pl/sql function that dynamically builds up a sql query and returns it as a varchar2.
when i create a new report then i can use this function in the report like
return f_function(param1,param2,v('APP_ID'), v('APP_SESSION'));
and this works fine.
Except i cannot create an interactive report for this function, because it is not allowed !!!!
So how can i use the function in an interactive report ?

Another rather extreme approach would be to go all the way and make your function pipelined (that is not only build but also execute the query) and then select from it in your interactive report.
The disadvantage here would be that any supplementary filtering would act on the result set of the function (not as an addition to the where clause of the original query). But if you can live with that...
The advantage would be that there's less fiddling with column headers.
