Place... Function LR5 where is it ?

Do I am searching wrong?
Where is the "Place ... " function that before was at file menu?
Thanks
Roberto

There is a "Place" menu item in Photoshop and Elements but NOT in Lightroom.

  • Places function no longer works on iPhoto.

    My Mac has OSX 10.6.8 and iPhoto 8.1.2.  The Places function no longer works.  I can select Places that I used on earlier photos, but it no longer locates new Places on the map.  I have read other people's discussions of this problem on the web, but I am not technical and do not understand much of what they say.  Any suggestions for a no-technical person would be welcome.

    I have this same problem on my new MacBook Pro. The biggest problem is that the embedded Google will NOT find most things that Google Maps finds. For example, the Oberoi Amarvillas in Agra India.
    I also can't move the pin for any of the places it already knows. I wonder if this might be related to trackpad settings? I can't find one that looks like it might help.
    I can find locations using their map coordinates (for example, 27.168647, 78.049150) and then go back and rename the place to something more helpful. But I can't fine tune the size of the location, which makes it hard to have highly localized places. And it gets the name of the state wrong, which makes it hard to find locations by general location.
    This puts a damper on processing photos right away, if I can't record them while I still remember their locations.

  • How do you make the 'places' function work in iphoto

    `i have just imported a lot of old photos from my 2007 macbook onto a new macbook pro with ilife 09. `i am trying to make the places function work but can't get it to work. The 'i' icon does not appear in the bottom right hand corner of the events main photo as it's supposed too. Any suggestions?

    Simply open an event; select 1 or more photos and select the i in the lower right corner of a photo thumbnail. You will get the Geocoding window. Start typing the address/place/country in the location area. For detailed addresses you select new place. You can resize the window. Maps from google appears and you select the place it finds. You can even drag the pin to a specific area. Press ok and your done.

  • Clarification on using function in where clause of oracle sql query

    I have an issue in regarding function using where clause of sql query..
    We are facing performance issue while executing query, so in what ways to improve the performance of the query which i have posted below.
    select col ,case when my_function(parameter)
    from tab1 a ,tab2 b,tabl3 c
    where a.column1=b.column2
    and b.column3 =c.column6

    Dinesh,
    remind that when you use a function in the where clause it normally will get started for each record in the table.
    So your answer is two-fold:
    1. make the function only start when needed by adding a function based index on the table (this will make inserts and updates slower)
    2. make the function faster by adding the DETERMINISTIC clause if possible. this will make Oracle "cache" the result of the function.

  • Can't have aggregate function in WHERE clause clause

    Dear all,
    I've created object in BO XI 3.1 Designer with following criterias:
    http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/833/20111201124314.th.jpg
    It is a simple number - 1,2,3,4,5.
    Now I need to use this object as a criteria for WHERE function in another object.
    http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/1543/20111201124717.th.jpg
    I receive an error "Can't have aggregate function in WHERE clause <clause>"
    How can I overcome this?
    P.S. I'm sorry in advance if such topic already exist - I didn't found one.

    Hi,
    You will have to use Sub query to achieve this. Give more details on what is available and what you need then i could help you out with the complete solution.

    In below query i'm calling function in where clause to avoid COMPLETE status records,due to this query taking 700 secs to return result.If i'm remove below function condition it's returning results with in 5 secs.Can you some one advice to any alternate idea for this?

    One thing you can test quickly is to put the function call in it's own select ...from dual.
    This might make a difference.
    However, only you can check this, I don't have your tables or data.
    So, what happens if you use:
        paper_code,
        cand_lang,
      (select mark_entry.get_ia_entry_status(:v_year, :v_month, assessment_school, subject_option, lvl, cand_lang, component, paper_code) from dual ) AS mark_status
      FROM
        (SELECT DISTINCT ccr.assessment_school,  --<< is the DISTINCT really needed?
          ccr.subject,
          ccr.subject_option,
    ...Also, try to find out the purpose of that above DISTINCT, is it really needed or is there some join missing?

    Not sure about the GROUPBY function referencing the "crd." .

    Hi,
    The best thing for you to do is start over. Start as small as possible, then take baby steps.
    Pick one of the tables; fcr perhaps, and write a query that just uses that table, like this:
    SELECT    *
    FROM       apps.fnd_concurrent_requests     fcr
    WHERE       fcr.actual_start_date          >= TRUNC (SYSDATE)
    AND       fcr.actual_start_dt          <  TRUNC (SYSDATE) + 1
    ;(I think this is what you meant to do when you said "... LIKE SYSDATE".)
    Make sure this little query gets credible results. When that tiny query is working perfectly, add another line or two. You can cut and paste code from what you posted, if that helps you.
    If you get stuck, post the last version of your code that worked perfectly, and the latest version (only a line or two bigger) that has the problem. Describe what the problem is. If you get an error, post the complete error message. In any event, post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for all the tables and columns needed to run the query, and the results you want to get from that query.
    When you post any code, format it, so that how the code looks on the screen gives some clues about how it is working.
    When you post any formatted text on this site, type these 6 characters:
    \(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after each section of formatted text, to preserve spacing.
    If you going to use the AVG function in the sub-query, then you probably need to do a GROUP BY in the sub-query.
    If you're not using any aggregate functions (like AVG) in the main query, then you probably don't want to do a GROUP BY in the main query.
    I know this is a lot of work.  I'm sorry.  If there was an easier way, I wouldn't ask you to do all this.

  • Using function in where clause

    I have created a function as follows
    create or replace FUNCTION get_codes RETURN varchar2 IS
    scodes varchar2(50) := 'A1,A2';
    BEGIN
    scodes := '('''||REPLACE(scodes,',',''',''')||''')';
    return scodes;
    END;
    this function returns ('A1','A2')
    now i want to use this in where clause, both below statements fetches no rows
    select * from tablea where code in (select get_codes from dual);
    select * from tablea where code in get_codes;
    but the following will fetch rows
    select * from tablea where code in ('A1','A2')
    how to use function in where clause
    Thanks

    Hi,
    The code that works:
    where code in ('A1','A2')is testing whther code is either of two 2-character strings, A1 or A2.
    The ones that don't work, such as:
    where code in get_codes;are comparing code to one 9-character string: 'A1','A2', where characters 1, 4, 6 and 9 are single-quotes. (The function can only return one value.)
    You can use dynamic SQL to embed that 9-character string in part of your query, where it will be interpreted as two 2-character strrings.
    [Oracle Base|http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/misc/DynamicInLists.php] and AskTom have good pages on the subject of dynamic IN-lists.
    Of you can use INSTR or LIKE:
    where INSTR ( get_codes
                , '''' || code || ''''
                ) > 0

  • ABAP Function Module where-used in BI-Transformations

    Hi,
    we have developed some ABAP-Z-Function-Modules. These are used in several BI-Data-Transformations and work fine and performant.
    The problem we have now is to find out in which transformation a Function-Module is used.
    The where-used-list in SE37 doesn't report any BI-Transformations althought I check all categories.
    Got anyone a solution for our problem?

    see this code for function module where used list only for transformation . i used the same code as bhaskar specified..but little modification..here u used "date_get_week" function module..

  • File:Place Function Bug in Snow Leopard (CS4)

    Hi all. Have any of you experienced this bug when running Mac OS 10.6.7 (Snow Leopard)...the File:Place function no longer works for text.  I can place graphics/photos, but when I try to place text nothing happens.  Any thoughts about this?  I'm using InDesign CS4.
    Thanks!

    I'm a Windows guy, so I'm shooting in the dark at this point. Happens in all files? How about in a new user account?
    What has changed recently ont he system? New fonts? Any software updates?
    Do you run a font manager?

    Is there place in Aperture where a photo can be given  a different look, like a painted canvas, cartoon look, or other effects?

    Only by sending the photo to an external editor or using a plug-in, like Toonit (see ToonIt! For Aperture (Digital Anarchy)).
    The effects in Aperture (see the are very basic. Some simple effects Quartz Filter effects can be added by using Automator services, see my user tip here:

  • My iPhone 4s no longer has sound for any of the applications but it does have sound for phone functions.  Where is the setting for app sound?  I have gone to the multitask screen and the volume bar is empty.

    I recently found my phone outside in light rain (it had been there about 20 minutes).  It had some glitches at first, however after letting it rest overnight it seemed to mostly recover.  The one problem I am having is that I no longer have sound for any of my applications.  I do have sound for phone fuctions, and I am able to use the speaker for phone functions.
    When I am in my applications, including music/videos, the only way I can hear is if I use my earbuds.  I am able to make a video and it will record sound just fine.
    When I go to the multitask screen, the volume bar is empty and I cannot adjust it using the side buttons (even though in settings I have that feature activated). I completely reset all of my settings tonight and that did not make a difference.
    Is there a setting I am missing, or am I just SOL?  I am trying to avoid having to get a whole new phone but it is very frustrating to not have sound with my applications.
