Placing an alert call from MIDlet or server

Hi All:
I am working on a project where I need to alert the user of the MIDlet by placing a voice call automatically.
Say, user of MIDlet A sends files to user of MIDlet B through our server using http protocol.
As you very welll know, the IP address of a phone is not known to our server unless the MIDlet makes the http connection by itself.
Therefore, we need to worry about some way of alerting the user of MIDlet B about the file that is waiting for him at our server which he can pick by launching his MIDlet and opening http connection.
One possibility I am suspecting could have value is placing 'missed call' alert.
I am kind of stomped on this one and appreciate any pointers on how to solve this.
SMS is not an option.
regards,
Sambo

I am working on a project where I need to alert the
user of the MIDlet by placing a voice call
automatically.
Is making a voice call part of your project or just a possible way of solution you are thinking(by missed call)????
Say, user of MIDlet A sends files to user of MIDlet B
through our server using http protocol.
You can just set a flag on your server and design client midlet to check respective flag on regular interval n take the actions. This should be the best n easy solution to notify users. With these approach even large number of clients can be served quickly (within limited resources) as compared to (resources) making voice call(missed call).
Please let me know your views on this....
thanks & regards :)

    I am trying to run this batch file from my web server.I can see nothing on my browser.I can run the same program from my machine but unable to run from web server.what should I do?

    I am making my question more clear...
    I have a Windows batch (*.bat) file that echoes some html, then calls a java program the output of which is html as well, then echoes the final html.
    To make sure that the java program gets properly executed, I set the necessary environment variables (e.g., JDK, PATH, CLASSPATH, etc.). The script looks something like this:
    setlocal
    set JDK=path_to_JDK
    set PATH=path_to_java
    set CLASSPATH=path_to_java_classes
    echo ^<html^>^<body^>
    call java foo
    echo ^</body^>^</html^>
    endlocal
    The idea, of course, is to call this script through a browser, on a web server.
    Curiously, both echo lines return to the browser just fine, but any output from
    the java program (which just writes html to STDOUT) does not make it back.
    Can someone explain to me why this is happening? How do I set things up so that the output (STDOUT and STDERROR) from the java program make it back to the browser?

  • Socks proxy call  from a weblogic server across the firewall to an external program

    Hi,
    From our weblogic server, we are trying to connect to an external

    tunneled through a socks proxy in the DMZ. (We have not yet made it
    work so far. Currently, we are trying to make it work)
    From the weblogic bean, we are doing the following
    System.setProperty("socksProxySet", "true");
    System.setProperty("socksProxyHost", "w.x.y.z");
    System.setProperty("socksProxyPort", "1080");
    Not that weblogic bean is the initiator of the connection and it talks
    to a program outside our firewall.
    My question is, will this kind of system level setting in the weblogic
    server have any negative impact? This is because, RMI is over sockets
    and weblogic might be talking to its internal components through
    sockets.
    Is it advisable to have such socks related setting the weblogic bean
    level?
    thanks,

    Hi,
    How can I display an alert message that is called from a database procedure.
    I've tried the following code:
    l_al_button NUMBER;
    l_al_message VARCHAR2(80);
    l_al_id ALERT;
    Set_Alert_Property(l_al_id, alert_message_text,l_al_message);
    l_al_Button := show_alert(l_al_id);
    When trying I receive an error that says that the word ALERT need to be declared.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    leave the procedure without error handling.
    This is what you can do:
    1.Inside the database procedure-
    BEGIN
    RAISE_APPLICATION_ERROR (-20001, 'The chosen length of the Public Key Exponent ....');
    END;
    2.Into your Form -
    BEGIN
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    IF sqlcode = '-20001' THEN
    Display Your Messages.
    END IF;

  • RFC with Multilevel Hierarchy call from Server Proxy

    Dear Experts,
    We would like to call BAPI inside a server proxy.
    PI has created an interface structure exactly identical as the BAPI structure, but while generating ABAP proxy, system has added additional controller structure for each hierarchy.
    Now our ABAP team is facing the difficulty to map Proxy structure with BAPI Structure as now the structures are not identical any more due to control structure .
    Also since the BAPI has multilevel hierarchy and to fill the bapi structure from proxy structure (which is having the same structure as bapi but with control records) there are lots of loops required.
    Please share your thoughts on how to get rid of looping on proxy structure when both the structure are identical but only control structure has been added to proxy structure.
    Also would like to know if we can restrict the control structure generation during proxy generation process.
    - Shri

    Yes, you have to read and map the abap proxy structure to bapi structure.

                snr.SendNotificationResult.SubscriptionStatus = SubscriptionStatusType.OK;
                return snr;
    Can anyone suggest me what els i should do to get notification client to get called.

    How are you testing this ? Are you just creating posts in the Public Folder or is the folder mail enabled and your sending email to it ?
    Are you getting the heartbeat notifications ?
    Have you tested your endpoint is accessible from the Exchange Server ? are you getting any error logged see
    http://www.infinitec.de/post/2009/06/21/Troubleshooting-Push-notifications-failures.aspx
    Your only subscribing to the NewMail event on public folder I would suggest at least for testing you subscribe to the CreateItem, MoveItem, DeleteItem events as well to see if other event fires when you create and delete Items in the folder. You might also
    want to test something like
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/emeamsgdev/archive/2012/12/20/ews-push-notification-sample.aspx which is a basic sample

    But I need to call the same procedure with MS SQL from a linked Oracle server, I'm trying to do it through openquery for a while, but no success yet.
    Can someone tell me what is the right syntax for that query in OPENQUERY?

    Have you tried configuring Oracle Heterogenous Services/ Transparent Gateway? This would let you link Oracle to SQL Server via a database link which should solve your problem.

  • Web Service call from Documaker Server?

    Hi folks,
    We have a process where we'd like to create a document, and import (via AddMultiPageBitmap rule) an existing external document to send with the newly-created document. This external document is stored in FileNet. We could use a Java application to read our input file, call an Webservice utility to retreive the necessary documents and put them onto the server that we'd run the Documaker engines (GenData/GenPrint) on, where they could then find and import them from. However, rather than develope a new java application to do that, we're wondering whether we can call this webservice utility from within Documaker to retreive the documents from FileNet, and either do so within the AddMultiPageBitmap rule (eliminating the need to actually place the document on the server by just returning the bitstream to the Rule in lieu of telling it the file location), or whether we can at least do so prior to the AddMultiPageBitmap rule and put each document onto the server just before calling the AddMultiPageBitmap rule.
    So basically, Is it possible to do a Webservice call from GenData when running in batch on Linux? We're currently running 11.5.
    Thanks,
    Gregg

    Gendata does support custom code, so you could, in theory, write a custom rule that calls a WEB service and writes the TIFF(any supported bitmap) to disk. After this the base Add..Bitmap rule can just pick it up and work as usual.

  • Calling EJB deployed on Weblogic 10.3 from WebSphere Application Server 6

    Hi,
    We are trying to call an EJB(2.1) deployed in Weblogic 10.3 from WebSphere Application Server 6.
    The problem is that the jars containing Weblogic's initial context factory are compiled with JDK5. (Client jar was built as per [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15051_01/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html] .)
    WebSphere is still running on JDK1.4.
    Therefore when trying to get the InitialContext to lookup up the bean we get major/minor version errors because of the compiler level mismatch.
    Has anyone faced a scenario like this and come up with a solution?
    Are there 1.4 jars for Weblogic 10.3 out there?
    Any help?
    Thanks

    Hi Dan,
    Yes I am using EJB 3. I saw this thread earlier also but :
    1. In my case I am not calling the EJB 3.0 methods directly. I am using a java client (Cataloged as a Java Class Library) which does the lookup and calls the EJB methods. (I am not cataloging and calling the EJB 3.0 methods directly).
    2. It is working perfectly fine when the EJB is deployed in Weblogic 10.0 or 10.2.
    I am very much new to this so please bear with my small and silly questions! Thanks a lot for you help !
    Cheers !

  • What the best way to call twenty tuxedo domains from one weblogic server use WTC

    I need to call twenty tuxedo domains from one weblogic server use

    Hi,
    I have a question on the second case. When the client doesn't care of which
    Tuxedo domain it is hitting. What happens if one of the Tux domain is down ? What
    happens to the client request to that domain ?
    Another question is lets say i have a Tuxedo configuration as MP mode( Multi
    machine mode) how does WTC load balance between the Tuxedo domains.
    Thanks,

    Hi xcjing,
    One way to handle your needs is to use local service name to remote
    reservice name translation. For instance,
    (in 6.1,6.0 WLS)
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOUPPER1" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM1">
         <RemoteName>TOUPPER</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOUPPER2" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM2">
         <RemoteName>TOUPPER</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOUPPER3" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM3">
         <RemoteName>TOUPPER</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    etc
    With this configuration if your client have to call "TOUPPER" service
    in
    TUX-DOM1 then you code your client to call "TOUPPER1" and the request
    will be routed to TUX-DOM1. The same way for request has to go to
    TUX-DOM3, your client calls "TOUPPER3" service and WTC will route it
    to
    TUX-DOM3. In this remote name translation you may have to write 20 EJB
    although they are almost the same. However, if your EJB can analyze
    your client input to decide which Remote Tuxedo Domain to send the
    service request to then you probably only need one EJB.
    In the case that your client does not care which remote Tuxedo Domain
    provides the service then adding
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOLOWER" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM1">
         <RemoteName>TOLOWER</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOLOWER" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM2">
         <RemoteName>TOLOWER</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    <T_DM_IMPORT ResourceName="TOLOWER" LocalAccessPoint="WTC"
    RemoteAccessPointList="TUX-DOM3">
         <RemoteName>TOLOWEr</RemoteName>
    </T_DM_IMPORT>
    etc
    Will load balance your client "TOLOWER" service request among your 20
    remote Tuxedo Domain.
    However, there is a bug in WTC that causes the Remote Service Name
    translation functionality not working properly. It is fixed in the
    upcoming release of WLS.

    hi xcjing,
    You don't have to write 20 beans or deploy 20 beans because there
    are
    20
    remote Tuxedo TDomain you need get the service from. Of course, WLSand
    WTC does not prohibit you from doing it though. Whether you need20
    beans or not depend more on you architecture.
    To access 20 remote Tuxedo Domain from one single WLS with singleWTC
    you can configure 20 remote Tuxedo Domain in the BDMCONFIG (6.1,6.0)
    or
    from the console (7.0). You import 20 services one from each remote
    Tuxedo domain. You write one bean, and deploy one bean. Your WLS
    clients will be able to access THE ejb, the EJB will access the WTC
    service, and WTC will load balanced the service requests among the20

  • Can I call a Java program from a SQL Server Trigger?

    Hello,
    I want to encrypt some data in a database column in SQL Server. Today I am using java code to encrypt the value and store it in the database using JDBC.
    Now I want to use a VB client to store the encrypted value in the SQL Server DB. Since the encryption is handled by a java class, can I write a trigger in SQL Server that while inserting the raw data, calls the java class for encrypting the value and then inserts the encrypted value into the column?
    In general, is it possible to call a java class from a SQL Server trigger?
    Thanks
    Bipin

    Here are 3 examples of code for insert, update and delete:
    CREATE TRIGGER [PLI_INSERT_TRIGGER] ON [dbo].[PLI]

         Select @code = PLI_K_COD, @list = PLI_K_LISTINO from inserted
         Set @cmd = 'java mirrorDb.Copy PLI INSERT ' + @code + ' ' + @list
         EXEC master..xp_cmdshell @cmd
    CREATE TRIGGER [PLI_UPDATE_TRIGGER] ON [dbo].[PLI]
    FOR UPDATE

         Select @code = PLI_K_COD, @list = PLI_K_LISTINO from deleted
         Set @cmd = 'java mirrorDb.Copy PLI DELETE ' + @code + ' ' + @list
         EXEC master..xp_cmdshell @cmd
    you must go "sql server entreprise manager" right click on the table you want to add triggers and select: all activities, manage triggers.
    You have 3 examples: for an insert, for an update and for a delete
    ON [dbo].[PLI] specify the table on which you want to setup trigger.
    FOR DELETE, INSERT, UPDATE specify the event.
    The Declare statement create the variables in which I want to put some values to pass to the java program, for example which table, which event, which key fields.
    the "Select @code = PLI_K_COD, @list = PLI_K_LISTINO from inserted" set the variables with the value of the columns of the table I am interested to read from my java program, for example the variable @code receive the value of the column pli_k_kod (is the key) of the table PLI.
    The "Set @cmd = 'java mirrorDb.Copy PLI DELETE ' + @code + ' ' + @list " prepared the variable @cmd with the java command followed by the package.classname and parameters.
    The EXEC launch the command to the operating system.

  • Service Call documents can't be read from B1 DI SERVER

    Dear All,
    Service Call documents can't be read from B1 DI SERVER using B1WS (wsdl) for service calls (OSCL) which has column/ field "IsEntitled" = "C".
    Based on REFDB.chm, SAP B1 Technical Documentation, field IsEntitled can only be filled  by two values:
    "C" = Valid contract exist
    and
    "N" = No
    But ... in wsdl B1WS file, ServiceCallService.wsdl only allows "Y" and "N" values. The XML is as below:
         <s:element minOccurs="0" name="EntitledforService">
                  <s:simpleType>
                    <s:restriction base="s:string">
                      <s:enumeration value="tNO" />
                      <s:enumeration value="tYES" />
                    </s:restriction>
                  </s:simpleType>
                </s:element>
    Consequently, Service Call which has IsEntitled value "N"  CAN be read because tNO means "N" ("N" and "N" are equal). Coversely, "C" CAN NOT be read because tYES means "Y" ("C" and "Y" are not equal).
    We looked at the DI Server log, the problem occurs when DI Server receives getByParam commands which retrieve service call with "C" value on its IsEntitled field. So, the problem happens when we read from the DI Server, not when we update the service call. (the error message is Invalid valid value 'C' in Enum 'BoYesNoEnum', the valid values are 'N', 'Y')
