Playing a dvd with TS files

NO PLAYER I've found for apple plays TS Files
Audio_TS and Video_TS
How do I play these dvds idvd doesnt work nothing days

VIDEO.TS is the only file needed for audio and video on DVDs. AUDIO.TS is for audiophiles keen on digital audio players. Last night I was watching 'Twilight'. It seemed very dark on DVD Player. Its display on Mplayer, however, seemed perfect.

  • How create 1 dvd with 2 file

how create 1 dvd with 2 file

As you probably know,  DVD creation in Compressor and FCPX is very limited – and it only accommodates single tracks.
But there is no reason why you can't put multiple movies on a single timeline in FCP. Separate them with inserted gaps and add chapter markers to provide some level of navigation among them.
    Good luck.

  • No sound when playing burned DVD with Windows Media Player

    Hello!
I made a 10 minute movie which I burned , tested and delivered today.
But it turns out that when playing the DVD with WMP, there is no sound.
I had tested the movie playing it with powerDVD, and it worked as it should. When playing it with a normal DVD player and TV it works allright.
But I had not tested it with WMP. And sure enough, when playing it with WMP there is no sound!
The ones who will show the DVD will do it from a computer to a video projector, and maybe they don't have a "proper" DVD program installed. But I heard that there was sound when playing with "VLC" which is a relief.
But I feel the need to get to the bottom of why there is no sound with WMP? Any clues?

In NTSC-land, one has but two choices: PCM/WAV or DD AC3, which is a particular "flavor" of MPEG. In PAL-land, one does have the option of MPEG (not DD AC3) as an option, but that seems to be falling out of favor.
When MS was re-tooling WMP, they wanted to add back the functionality of commercial (pressed/replicated) DVD's, but sought to limit any burned DVD's. Do not know what the mindset is now, so much could have changed with a few iterations of WMP. I have to admit that I just do not reach for it that often.
In the Project, or Disc, menus, one can tell En which Audio Transcoding to use. As John T, suggests, I would definitely do a test with PCM/WAV, and X my fingers.
If your client(s) is/are set on WMP as the player, there is hopefully a scheme that you can get to work. Also, remember that some older versions of WMP might not play the DVD at all, unless one finds the right plug-in, that basically hacked the intended setup in those older versions. Just like when delivering to a client, and not knowing their systems' calibration, or setup, trying to cover every base in a particular player software might involve a lot of work, and prayer.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Quiktime 7.7 plays no sound with .AVI files

Quiktime used to play sound for my .avi files, but no longer does.

After the install of Perian 1.1 drag the AC3 codec out of the folder it is in as Perian handles AC3. BTW AC3 is Dolby Digital codec for audio and not the problem with an AVI file.

  • Creating DVD with PDF files and web links

Hi all, first I'd like to say that these forums are a big help. I've spent DAYS scouring through topics learning. Of course, I know this opens it up for someone to post a link to a thread where my question has already been answered. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the specific help I need and would like to open a dialogue with experts.
I am creating a marketing DVD for a product. We produced a video for it, but the client also wants the audience to have access to a large amount of research in this specific field. This exists as PDF files and links to websites.
His previous Marketing CD was just that, a CD made with FileMaker and had the files and links and only worked in PC computers. I do not want to go back in that directions.
I want to make an informative DVD with the video and a few pages of selling points and cool tricks (I discovered multilayered menus working on this!) for those viewing on TV or Computer, and then an option for Computer users to click for more info.
How do I put PDF files on the disc and how do I put web links on there?
    Thanks,
    Byron

DVDSP uses a tool called DVD@Access. It enables a user to link to URL and call such documents as pdfs. The problem is that its never was reliable - especially on the PC side of things.
There have been many of posts in the last 2 days about its use. Do a search and you'll see.
DVD was not designed with the web in mind - it was conceived long before that time. linking to "outside" documents requires a third party tool to take over.
Just beware! - in fact if your client came to me I would refuse to do the job. I've seen the problems that exist doing work like this especially if your distributing to a large audience with different OS sets ups. If one of the users has Vista you can forget about it working at all.
My suggestion would be to design a menu that tells the user the file paths to your pdfs or URLs on the disc.

  • Importing from DVD with TS files

I have iMovie '08 (7.1.4). I want to edit a new iMovie from an existing video on a DVD disc.
My problem: I cannot import the finished video from the DVD. The video will play on my computer, and the DVD player attached to my TV, but it does not import to iMovie.
If I click on the DVD disc icon, to open it on my desk top, I see two data folders: (1) Audio TS, and (2) Video TS. How can I import the finished video to iMovie for editing?
    Thank you for your help.

How can I import the finished video to iMovie for editing?
Normal multiplexed MPEG2/AC3 or MPEG2/PCM files such as those found on DVDs compatible with most commercial DVD and computer media players are not edit compatible with the QT structure. Since you cannot edit it in this format, iMovie '08 will not allow you to import it. Thus, to make it edit compatible, you must convert VOB files to one of the compression formats that are compatible with iMovie '08 using an MPEG-based, third party application. My personal preference is to use the free MPEG Streamclip application from Squared 5 together with the $20 QT MPEG-2 Playback component from Apple. This combination allows you to export to all known iMovie '08 compatible audio and video compression formats which usually means you can optimize your source files for greater quality than with other work flows that restrict you to only one, two, or even three output formats. For ease of conversion the free iSquint (file level conversion) or HandBrake (DVD level conversion) are more handy but limit you to MPEG4/AAC or H.264/AAC compression formats which produce smaller files but less quality than DV or AIC compression. Other options include FFmpefX (donation-ware), Visual Hub (pay-ware), MPEG2 Works (pay-ware), etc. to name just a few.

  • Making DVD with downloadable files.

Is there any way you can upload audio files onto a DVD and then have the viewer download them from their home computer? With video going on.

I want to add a folder of jpegs to the dvd so that the user could download the pics to their computer.
I clicked on the DVDrom button, browsed to the folder of pics and selected it. When I built the DVD, I couldn't find the pictures. I just saw the Video and Audio folder. What am I missing here?
    Thanks in advance

  • QT won't play back audio with MPEG2 files

I've upgraded to Pro and have added the MPEG2 plugin. QT plays the video fine, but I don't get audio. Have checked the files with another application (VLC) and the files play fine. I've using files from a new Sony hard disk digital camera. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem may be?
    Thanks,
    --Mike

I've upgraded to Pro and have added the MPEG2 plugin. QT plays the video fine, but I don't get audio.
Since you did not specify your particular "playback" work flow here, it is difficult to determine your specific problem. (I.e., did you drag and drop the file to an application that would automatically attempt a "transcoding" of the material which the MPEG-2 component cannot handle.) Then too, the Sony MPEG VX format in itself is proprietary and the technical specifications do not appear to have been pubished for general public consumption. (I.e., we don't know the specifics of the format. For instance, is it an AC3 audio format, was it VRB encoded, etc.) See MPEG-2 FAQs
However, since you already have the MPEG-2 component installed, have you tried playback/conversion in an application like MPEG Streamclip? It may allow you to convert the file to DV for editing or directly to other QT/iPod compatible formats with audio if no editing is required/desired.

  • I want to play a game with the file extension .iso? is it possible to run it on 10.6.8

i am downloading assasins creed revelations from torrent , the file has an iso extension.
    i have also played creed 1  & 2 & brotherhood.
they work fine but had dmg file.
kindly tell how to lay with iso file

You can mount a .iso disc, but if the game comes on a .iso disc then it's not intended for use with a Mac or it would be a .dmg.
If you downloaded this from somewhere other than the developer or a legitimate vendor, then you have an illegal copy, and we cannot help you further when that is the case.
If you mount that disc in your Mac and look at the files that are on it, the executables will most likely have a .exe extension which is indicative of use on a PC running Windows.

  • DVD with Digital File?

I was doing a research to buy the movie Wall.e. I discovered a version (DVD) that Include what they called "Disney File Digital Copy". Does anyone have seen this before? is it ATV compatible? how it works??
Since Wall.e is not released yet, and I don't know of any other movie that has that, I am not sure of what exactly this is... Too bad they don't have this on their blu-ray...

To save you a lot of time and headache, open the dvd in the parking lot, make sure the "code" is inserted in the packaging. (This is NOT the same code as the Movie Rewards insert). Lots of dvds are showing up with missing codes.
Thanks to the wonderful customer care at Disney, the most they can offer those without the codes is a .pdf file to print out, fill out, make copies of your proof of purchase and receipt, scan it or fax it back to them. Once they receive it, it will take about a week or 2 to receive the code. Hardly worth the extra money or time if you ask me. You're better off buying the single disc for $15 and then getting onto iTunes and buying Wall-E for ATV/iPod. It's the same price and it's a lot less headache!

  • Compression applied thrice on a LIVE CD/DVD(with .cmg files)

To provide greater than 2GB in DVD or 800MB in CD, can the process be applied thrice?
    Edit: readon......................

    i389;
The referenced .cmg files are added to a burn of KnoppixLive CD(no change to it) with a modified mkisofs command and the .cmg files are 50% pre-compressed and are burned on the DVD after the Knoppix data.
This enables a fuller use of the media space on a given disc.
The cmg files are accessed by command line.  The Knoppix is still 680+MB and bootable.  The remaining DVD space up to 4.4GB is useable by .cmg files.
I haven't tried the system but understand that it does work.
The Knoppix and .cmg files are placed in a common file to be processed by the mkisofs procedure before a k3b burn to DVD as I understand the system.
The original KnoppixLiveCD format is not disturbed (same compression as before) and a second series of compressed files(.cmg) are added.  Thus a second compression system is initiated on the same DVD.  Result is two compressions on the same media.
The DVD+R/W would allow experimenting with .cmg with a KnoppixLive CD.
I would expect the same system to apply to other LiveCD's.
Some software is required to prepare the .cmg files of applications to be provided by .cmg.
EDIT:  Some Live CD's are only 20 to 50MB in size.  Adding .cmg files would enhance the use of CD burn space as well.  Not limited to DVD as far as I can tell...

  • How do i burn a playable dvd with these files?

.vob .bup and .ifo files. which program should i use??
    thanks.

It appears that you already have your DVD in the needed format.
You could put a burnable folder on your desktop, add two folders: VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS and place all your files in the VIDEO_TS folder.
Please note that you will need both folders (even though AUDIO_TS stays empty), and the folder names have to be all caps and include the underscore.
You will then be able to open that burnable folder, insert your blank DVD and click Burn.

I'm stumped. I don't know what to try next.
    Any help appreciated.

I believe this forum is appropriate for your question.
Your symptoms sound like an issue with negotiation of segment size and fragmentation. Path MTU Discovery is generally used in setting up a TCP connection to discover the largest frame that can be sent without requiring fragmentation. However there are things that can prevent PMTUD from working properly. Most especially there are some networks that block the ICMP response of Fragmentation Required but DF Set. So the end stations do not find the optimum frame size. If the end station sends a maximum frame size (as most would) and somewhere along the path the frame needs fragmentation, then the packet will be dropped.
Your symptoms sound like in trying to go to those sites you open the TCP connection, the first several frames are relatively small and succeed, so you see the initial message from the site, but then are sending large frames which get dropped.
One way around this is to configure ip tcp adjust-mss and set a smaller size. I have encountered symptoms like yours, have set the size to something around 1360, and had things work very well. I suggest that you give this a try and let us know if it helps.
