Playlists not syncing across

Weird one here that is rapidly annoying me more and more.
I ask iTunes (latest version) to sync across to my 1st gen iPod touch (latest software version). I choose some selected playlists and some sync across but some don't!
Also some playlists appear that I never asked to be synced across. As if that's not bad enough the music that only appears in playlists that don't sync across....make it across-it just doesn't have the playlist. Make sense?
Any help, tips or solutions?

Resolved with a complete restore as a 'new iPod'.

Photos will not sync across devices in iOS 8.1

I have iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad and my iPhone 5. After installing the new iOS and selecting 'iCloud Photo Library (Beta)' on both devices, the 'my photo stream' folder has disappeared and photos will not sync across devices. Everything was fine prior to installing the new iOS. Can anyone help me to fix this? Thank you!

If you are using iCloud Photo Library Beta there are some differences from what you may be use to. Please read over the attached article for information on how your pictures are now organized and for how you can turn it off if you choose to do so.

After downloading maverick, iCloud will not sync across my devices

Since downloading Maverick [10.9], iCloud will not sync across my devices. Mail is not working properly. I'm being asked for passwords from everything.
Also, every time I close and then reopen Mail, I get a message saying "Mail cannot connect to the iCloud account "iCloud", requiring my password, again!
Is there a solution to this? How can I find out if it's server related, etc.?

Games are not syncing across iOS devices

My games are not syncing across my iOS devices. Both my iPhone and iPad are running the same software and are linked to the same account. However my games don't seem to sync. Which is annoying if I'm playing a game on one device I have to start over on another. For example temple run does not sync. Anyone have any suggestions. I'm also having the same problem with infinity blade 2.

Game syncs only work for games that support iCloud. The game developer has to enable that feature. There are several games such as Jetpack Joyride and League of Evil 2 that support iCloud syncing of games. Unfortunately, other games like Temple Run don't do that since the dev never implemented that feature.

Voice Memos Playlist Not Syncing

I've tried all sorts of things, but I can't seem to get my voice memos playlist to sync to itunes.
My workaround has been to make a new smart playlist, and have it add all files that contain "iPhone" but I would rather have it work as it used to.
Anyone else having this problem?

I found the answer, at least it worked for me.
Here ya go:
1) open the Voice Memos app on your iPhone
2) on any memo: click the little blue arrow on the right
3) Click the next arrow in the top most box this will put you in the "Label" screen
4) From the "Label" screen: click the arrow next to "Custom"
5) In the Custom screen: give the memo a name (click Done)
6) Click the left arrow (top left) to go back to your memos.
You'll see that you memo as a name. I changed mine from "4:25 PM" to "Fishcakes".
7) Sync your iPhone and you are good to go.
NOTE: If for some reason this doesn't work, go back into the same "naming" list on your Iphone voice memos app, and try one of the standard labels instead of a custom one. With one that wouldn't sync, I changed it to "Memo" and then synced it again, and then it worked.

Iphone songs and playlists not syncing to itunes library

I have bought songs on on my iphone. However, when I sync the phone to my computer, these songs are not transferred to my itunes library. I have worked out that I can right click to force it to transfer purchases. Is there some setting I can change to ensure that it does this automatically?
My playlists are also not syncing (even though the boxes are checked). I have altered them on my iphone but all of these changes are lost as soon as I sync it to the computer. How do I stop this?

I thought I was doing something wrong as syncing iTunes with an iPhone was never a problem. However after upgrading to iTunes 11.0 on one of 5 Apple computers, we now are experincing the same problems as reported above. Playlists in iTunes 11.0 on an Apple iMac running OS 10.7.5 are not syncing over to an iPhone 4 running iOS 6.0.1.Even though specific playlist that have been checked to be transferred, they are not migrating over to the iPhone. We have not tried syncing to any of the iPods yet but I think the same issue may occur.
As to the work-around described above to create playlists on the iPhone, it is a viable option. But if you do this I would make sure to deselect music syncing because you may wipe your playlist on the phone until a patch is created to fix this issue as well as other reported bugs. (iTunes 11.0.1)

Smart Playlists not syncing correctly

All of my iTunes smart playlists are not syncing correctly on my 3rd gen. iPod touch. I have iTunes 9, and the latest iPod touch software (3.1.2) and nothing is correct.
For example on my "Top 25 Most Played" there are songs that I have listened to only once, and some, zero times! In the "Recently Added" playlist, there are songs that I added years ago!
How will this get fixed? I thought maybe 3.1.2 would fix it, but obviously it didn't. I remember this happened to me when I first got my first gen. iPod touch, but that sorted itself out in about a week. I've now had the third gen. iPod touch for a month now.

thanks for posting this link to Apple officially responding to this issue. although these are good workaround solutions, they are still just workaround solutions. it seems there remains a bug when the "live updating" option is selected for a smart playlist. this is one of the most obvious/major bugs I have seen in Apple software (and it's not that big of a deal, so that says a lot about the quality of Apple software).

"Sent" and "Trash" mailboxes not syncing across devices

My "In Box" syncs across devices, but the "Sent" and "Trash" boxes do not. How do I ensure that all my mailboxes are syncing across all my devices, so that conversations can move back and forth regardless of which device I am using at the moment?

Playlists not syncing correctly from iTunes to iPhone4

iTunes is not syncing my playlists consistently. As it is difficult to describe exactly what is going wrong, I'll also list the things that I did to test the issue. I am currently using itunes v10.6.3.25 on Win7 64-bit and iOS v5.1.1 and iTunes Match is not enabled. When I plug my iPhone into my PC to sync, everything appear to go normally, I am not getting any errors. When I look at the contents of my iPhone in iTunes (under the Devices category), it appears to match my iTunes content. However, when I use the Music app on my phone, the playlists/song have not been synced. Here are my attempts to figure out what's going on:
TEST: deleted playlists on iphone
RESULT: playlist deleted on itunes after syncing
TEST: deleted playlists in itunes
RESULT: playlist deleted from iphone
TEST: changed name of playlist in itunes
RESULT: removed *some* songs from playlist on iphone (but not in itunes)
TEST: added songs back to iphone playlist
RESULT: after syncing, songs added were removed from both itunes and iphone playlist
TEST: added songs back to iTunes playlist
RESULT: did not sync songs to iPhone playlist
TEST: added music to iTunes library
RESULT: music successfully synced to iPhone
TEST: added music to a smart playlist
RESULT: smart playlist synced to iPhone successfully
TEST: uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes
RESULT: issue persists
TEST: rebooted iPhone
RESULT: issue persists

I have just started to have trouble playing my playlists on the iPhone. It started to shuffle them and when I turned shuffle off, it would only play one song over and over again. You have to open the iPod and manually advance to the next song. That is obviously unsatifactory. I downloaded the update on the iTunes software today. That did not correct the problem. I also restored the settings on the phone. It wtill will not play a playlist in the order I have it. There is some problem here. I would also be happy to hear a reply on this issue.

I can't get certain playlists to sync correctly. Songs are being dropped even though they are all checked.

more info...i made a playlist on the phone, synced to mac then the playlist was much smaller on itunes, and even smaller on the phone.
Also, right clicking on a song and selecting "show in playlist" is not accurate.

My most recent playlists will not upload from iTunes desktop to the iPhone. Is there a limit on number of playlists that can be synced to the phone?
OR am I failing to complete some function related to this process? iPhone manual does not seem to contain data on this issue.

what are we all doing wrong, or have we identified a flaw in the 3GS? I've had mine about 3 weeks. The 'ipod' button displays the 'No Content' message and the iphone does not sync with itunes even though the computer say it has! I downloaded 'Avatar' from itunes yesterday...it will not pass to the iphone, i have even tried the restore option, and wiped out all my paid for apps, but still no transfer of information. There seems to be no section to cover this in any Apple 'expert' solutions links...very disappointed.

Newly created playlists not syncing to Nano

I'm creating a playlist in iTunes which is fully operational in iTunes buy for some reason it is not syncing (appearing) in my Nano playlists. The standard default playlists (On-the-go, Top Rated, etc.) do sync (appear). Anyone else experiencing this? Frustrated.

Yes, I just bought the 5th gen 16gb ipod and having the same problem....did you update the ipod sw to 1.02....i did and i think this may have caused it but not sure...i also can't get any movies or tv shows to sync over either....appreciate anyone's help out there

Why are my playlists not syncing from iTunes to my iPhone since updating to iTunes 11.0.2?

My selected playlists are not syncing from Itunes to my iPhone. As a music teacher this is extremely problematic as I use my phone as my primary music player. Anyone know why all music syncs but not the playlists?

First, you're not talking to Apple - this is a users' forum. Second, sync operations work one way - iTunes to iDevice; create and modify your playlists in iTunes, then sync them to your iPhone.

Smart Playlists not syncing correctly to iPhone/iPad with iTunes Match

My manual playlists are syncing correctly to both devices, but smart playlists are a mess. They don't seem to match any criteria that they are created with, especially song limits. However, smart playlists are syncing correctly in iTunes on multiple computers. This is really frustrating because 99% of my playlists I listen to are smart ones. Anyone know of how to fix this? Apple, do you have any information on this or when it would be fixed?

Guys, I might have our "life savior" solution!!! (not 100% sure yet...)
I activated iTunes Match this morning.
Everything worked well apart from my smart playlists which cannot be found on my iphone/ipad anymore.
And yes, they relied on other lists...
BUT
A few smart playlists remained!!! (although they also rely on other lists)
So, after a bit of soul searching, here's my conclusion.
Those smart playlists that remained were actually dependant on "folders" which contain lists!
SO
I havn't tested yet (cause I'm at work), but if you put a list you wish to refer to in a folder, you should then be able to refer the smart list to the folder and not the actual list; and hopefully the smart list should then get synced!!!

Collections do not sync across devices - bookmarks do ???

Hello. I am trying to sync my books & PDF's between my iPhone 4S & iPad2. Both are running iOS 5.0.1 and all apps are up to date. Both have "sync bookmarks", "sync collections", & "online audio & vidoe" checked. I am using iCloud and both devices are backed up nightly....
I have manually pulled books and PDF's to each device; what is strange is that when I bookmark on one devicee (say the iPhone), the bookmark is recognized almost instantly on the other device (iPad).... BUT, when I add a book or pdf to one device, it doesn't automatically sync to the other device.....??

Let me revise my last post - Books purchased in the library DO sync across devices; items I place in iBooks from email, etc.. do NOT sync.
