PLD mistery field

Hi,
In Print Layout Designer there is a fiel called "Next Segment" in the Content Tab in Properties Field.
Do anyone of you know how this field is for?
It is really a mystery to me. Have test it in many ways, but... not way.
So, I would be really grateful if you could throw some light on this.

What version you are using now ?
By definition in manual file :
Use this field when a validation of two or more key records is required, for example, the field BP Bank Country and the field BP Bank Code.
To make this double validation, select the unique ID of the next key record field in this field.
The field with this unique ID is used as the secondary validation key record.
Additional info,
next segment is one of options that create a link dependency where Link Dependency - This dependency is created by the Link To option located in the General tab of the Properties window.

Dear, Experts
for eg I have two fields in pld Field_A and Field_B
Field A Contains values and fieldB also have values and 0.00 values as well.
I need to fetch the value to Field C from Field A where Field B >0

Hi Sudatta,
Your solution seems to be correct, but I am not getting the point of keeping some of the fields visible.. You can make field Z in your example invisible.
To make the right formula in PLD you need an extra field, the formula fields in SAP allways give back an 0 or an 1.
So if you have Field_A and Field_B and Field_C, you also have to create another field (eg Field_D)
Field D should be typed as a formula field and contain Field_B > 0 or Field_B != 0 or Field_B > 0.00 (just the exact value when you don't want field_C to be filled.
Field_C should be marked as a formula aswell and contain Round(Field_A,2) in this 2 is the ammount of decimals.
Then you have to make a connection between field C and D on the general tab (as mentioned before). So Field_C should be connected to field D.
You can make field_D invisible so it won't be displayed on your lay-out.
After that it should work.

I have desinged all static fields first, and when i came to the repetitive area iam not able to find the "A/R Invoice-rows" option, what would be the problem and what is the solution.

PLD Text Fields in Collection Report

Can someone please tell me how the data is populated for the Repetative Area() of the Collection Report?
When I look at the System Collection Report all of the fields in the Repitive Area() are listed as Free Text. I'm looking to modify/add some fields from the A/P Invoices but can't figure out how these fields get populated.

What you are seeing in the collection report is the data that is published dynamically based on your selection criteria. The Free Text has no relevance and connection to any data type.
If you want to add values from other tables you can add a database type field and use the link to area in the field properties to speficy what this new database field links to.
But the fact is it seldom works well.

Additing Field to Query Report in PLD

Hi
We have created a user query. Created report though Query Manager. Edited report through Query Print Layout.
If we add another field to the original query, even when we add the field to the report in PLD the field does not print.
Any suggestions?

This is the tricky part with QPLD.
Once you create the report from a query the query does not get refreshed into the report. The query itself is saved in a table and the same is referenced each time you run the QPLD.
therefore if you change the query you need to create a new QPLD layout for the changes to take effect.
So try not to create a QPLD before you are completely sure about the data

System (AGE3) 'Customer Aging Report' does not print BP Ref. No.

Hi Experts!
I have a question about the PLD for the Customer Aging Report (AGE3 = Collection Report). This system print layout does not print the BP Ref. No. in that field.
And when I went into the PLD, that field (and the other repetitive fields) are text fields. How do I get the BP Ref. No. to print in the field?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Marli,
If the PLD is of System report , then you have to heck that in ocrd table what is the field name of BP ref no. and try to convert that text field into database field and give the ref of ocrd BP ref no.
However the chnces of working fine for the above sol. is very low as we will not prefer to change the system report.
You should go for QLD or Crystal report for that .

Check Confirmation Window No Longer Appearing (2005A SP01)

Hello,
What changes in either Document Settings or Print Preferences or Checks for Payment PLD would result in the Check Confirmation screen no longer appearing after the printing of Checks for Payment? We have tested all of the layouts, including the system default layouts, for checks, and now none of them will result in the Check Confirmation screen.
The payment is created using the Outgoing Payment screen, and the check is printed using Document Printing. Worked until about a week ago. Checks still print with the correct numbers, but by default are now confirmed in the system, and there is no way to report a damaged check.

Thanks for the suggestions. However, the Print on Blank Paper boxed is unchecked on the Check for Payments window. The Printing Preferences settings is not set for blank paper checks or overflow. The Paper Type in the House Bank Account is set to Default.
They have changed the check form with PLD (moved fields around but allegedly have not added or deleted fields) and have reduced the maximum lines in Print Preferences to 12. However, regardless of what form they use, the confirmation still won't show up.
I'm still stuck. They have a playground company which mirrors their data as of 5/01 and the check confirmation works there, so they've changed something in the production company that has disabled the confirmation.

How to make Draft Watermark bolder or bring to front

Anyone know how to make the Draft watermark in PLD's more pronounced so it is either bolder or brought on top layer instead of background?

Try this
Add database field OINV. Draftkey on your PLD, suppose field name is F_500
Add one formula field, suppose F_501 and place a formula " F_500 == -1 "
Add one text and let it text be "Draft Documents" Suppose F_502, link this with F_501
This is way you can control that documents is Draft or other status

How to add field in existing PLD

Hi expert,
I have some problem,
Due to the crystal report can not automatically print in journal voucher ( Need to fill the docKey@ ) , So i decided to print preview using PLD system. The problem is in the existing PLD i want to add profit center,project, and 2 udf which i get the information from table BTF1.
I have add and save it. But when i print preview the sap become out of the memory or error.
Do you know how to solve it ?
actually i also use the related feature. but it's fail.

Hi Rahul,
i have already try to use in CR. But in CR i face a problem.
The CR doesn't automatic print when i print for example journal voucher no 1. i have already select the record in journal voucher no 1 but when i click print preview , the CR ask me to fill the dockey again. It is not like the other document which always automatic print. So, in Journal voucher can not automatic print , if i use CR. This issue i have post in this thread. Passing parameter Journal voucher to Crystal report. But still do not find the solution.
Because i don't have any idea in CR. So i move to PLD.
In PLD , i just add some field from the existing PLD system. But i also face another problem.
I can not add profit code, project, and 2 UDF. Actually the fields is in table BTF1. ( Journal voucher row) i just add beside the Credit field in PLD. But until now i still can not print preview using PLD.
Do you have any solution ?

New formula field in PLD

Hi All,
         I created a new field in PLD, that is when customer exceeds balance Rs.1000 it should be printed in the PLD like "Please pay your debit-Rs1000, and when customer balance is below Rs1000 it should not be printed.
         First I created a text field that is "Please pay your debit"
         Second I created a database Field, Table "Business Partner"
     and Column "Account Balance".(Unique ID is F_138).I linked this database to formula field.
         Third I created a formula "Field_138>=1000".(Unique ID is F_141).
        But it displays in the PLD, even if the business partner balance is less than Rs.1000. Please explain what is the problem.

Hi Sridharan,
               Yes, I gone through the E-Learning for PLD, from that only I created a formula for scenario which I mentioned above and the formula is "Acc_Balance>=1000" and the system message is "errors were found in the formula field: Acc_Balance. Do you still want to save".
       Because of this problem only I post a new thread for formula creation, which you have answered.
       And in the E-Learning demo I am not understanding properly, in that the unique ID is mentioned as cond1 I don't know how to create cond1 in unique ID, and they links this unique ID to database, formula and text fields, this is not understanding for me.
       That's why I post new thread.

User defined field insertion problem in Stock Taking Report (PLD)

We are creating one PLD for one of our customer for Stock Taking Report by modifying the existing sytem report. We will insert two user defined fields (Rack & Bin) from OITW table and link these with the warehouse code field which is at report header as there are different warehouse for the item and material is kept in different rank and bin in different warehouse. But after inserting these fields we found that repetative area becomes blank in the report.
So please let us know how to overcome this problem.

Hi Aloke,
This PLD is one of the hard coded PLD. You are not able to add UDF freely. I believe you may only add UDF from OITM table. Try you own report instead.

Problem with long text field in PLD

Hi all.
I´m doing a layout for A/R invoices. I have a user field of text type. When I try to display this field and the text is too long the PLD make a new line. but in the first line cut me some characters. How can I fix this issue?

Adding data field in query print layout designer (PLD)

Dear Experts/Gurus,
I would like to add data field in query PLD in repetitive area1 but it can't. The query I made excluding sequence no., so I think I must use datafield for that. I use textfield in the repetitive area header1. is it correct what I have thought, I mean is it really datafield can't be add in the print layout designer if it is from query ? I appreciate your answer. TIA

No you can't, you will have to recreate the query with the missing field and recreate a new print layout for this. Is still a flaw in SAP B1.
If you go to the service market place under education you can get the flashbook for the print layout design and the query manager and wizard, study them, they are of great help to understand the technology behind the PLD and the queries in SAP B1.

Using fields related to another fields in PLD

HELLO EVERYBODY:
I got the following issue:
A customer needs the Storage location (In ther Warehouse) from the AR Invoice is made printer in its AR invoice (Due to a quick search in its Distribution Center for sales)
Fot this theme we (me and my customer) have agrred to use USER FIELDS in their item master data using the terms used in a Distribution center (i don't if these are the appropiate terms in english): Lane (Pasillo), Module (Modulo), Level (Nivel), Floor (Level)
Now, we want that the storage's location information appears in the PLD for the AR invoice, not only the Warehouse code but the Storage localization (Lane, Module, Level, Floor) that are contained in the item master data
For that reason, I have used the concept in the Database field's type: RELATED TO, to make the proper relationships in the database fields.
But the sistem make all the posibble combinations possible for the item... example: if the item master data has 2 warehouse where the item can be handled , but the AR Invoice has been made from ONLY from 1 warehouse (Always the warehouse code= 02) and we want the USER FIELDS (Pasillo, Module, Level, Floor) appears in each rows of the AR invoice but just for the Warehouse that the AR has been made
In the Print preview the system shows the storage location (eventough the rows are repeated

The UDF on the Item Master would not be good enough for printing. You need to create UDF on the Marketing Document Row level. Relate-to would only work if you have one to one relationship.

How to create a new field in a PLD.

Hi,
We are trying to add some new fields in the collection report PLD.
How can we add a new field called "Customer/ Vendor Ref No." in the repetitive area of the PLD.
We need to mention all the PO numbers of the customer when sending the ageing report to them.
Please advice.

Hi Jyothi,
I believe you want to create a new database field for one of the SAP's Standard report PLD. If so you can go to that reports PLD and create a new field but you can't display the value as PLD works on the basis of Active Screen, meaning it will only display values which are there in the Active Screen.
So i would suggest you to go for Query and create a print layout for that, or XL Reporter or using Crystal Reports also it is possible.
