Using fields related to another fields in PLD

HELLO EVERYBODY:
I got the following issue:
A customer needs the Storage location (In ther Warehouse) from the AR Invoice is made printer in its AR invoice (Due to a quick search in its Distribution Center for sales)
Fot this theme we (me and my customer) have agrred to use USER FIELDS in their item master data using the terms used in a Distribution center (i don't if these are the appropiate terms in english): Lane (Pasillo), Module (Modulo), Level (Nivel), Floor (Level)
Now, we want that the storage's location information appears in the PLD for the AR invoice, not only the Warehouse code but the Storage localization (Lane, Module, Level, Floor) that are contained in the item master data
For that reason, I have used the concept in the Database field's type: RELATED TO, to make the proper relationships in the database fields.
But the sistem make all the posibble combinations possible for the item... example: if the item master data has 2 warehouse where the item can be handled , but the AR Invoice has been made from ONLY from 1 warehouse (Always the warehouse code= 02) and we want the USER FIELDS (Pasillo, Module, Level, Floor) appears in each rows of the AR invoice but just for the Warehouse that the AR has been made
In the Print preview the system shows the storage location (eventough the rows  are repeated
CHOICE #1
Description:
Fields: F_171 (Item Warehouse: Pasillo)
           F_173 ( Item Warehouse: Modulo)
           F_175 (Item Warehouse: Nivel)
All in the Repetitive Area, visible, in their properties Fields in tab: CONTENT Have the RELATED TO: Field_087 (AR Invoice: item No)
CHOICE #2
I have tried to use a cross relationship but the storage location are not shown (even if they are wrong):
F_178: AR Invoice : Warehouse Code. In its properties Fields in tab: CONTENT Have the RELATED TO: Field_087 (AR Invoice: item No)
then
Fields: F_171 (Item Warehouse: Pasillo)
           F_173 ( Item Warehouse: Modulo)
           F_175 (Item Warehouse: Nivel)
All in the Repetitive Area, visible, in their properties Fields in tab: CONTENT Have the RELATED TO: Field_178 (AR Invoice:Warehouse code)
Both trials were made because we want the storage localization (Pasiilo, modulo, nivel, piso)  that the item has in the Warehouse from the AR Invoice has been made.
I have attached some graphical views for the issue that i'm dealing with, you can see it at:
http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0ARnf54JjFusUZHhyMnZrbl8yZzdzZmR6Znc&hl=en
WOULD APRRECIATE ANY COMMENTS REGARD THIS ISSUE
KIND REGARDS,
ANDRÉS GALLEGO
SAP BUSINESS ONE CONSULTANT

The UDF on the Item Master would not be good enough for printing.  You need to create UDF on the Marketing Document Row level.  Relate-to would only work if you have one to one relationship.
Thanks,

  • How to populate one internal table from another using field symbols

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem. I have to populate one internal table (sructure t_otput) from another internal table (sructure t_from) using field symbol.
    Structure for from table.
    types: begin of t_from,
             year(4) type c,
             ww(2) type c,
             site type marc-werks,
             demand type i,
           end of t_from.
    Structure for output table.
    types: begin of t_display,
             title(30),
             WW1(10),
             WW2(10),
             WW3(10),
           end of t_display.
The from table looks like this:
    Year | WW | Site | Demand
    2005 | 1  | OR1  | 12.00
    2005 | 2  | OR1  | 13.00
    2005 | 3  | OR1  | 14.00
The display table which has to be populated should look like this:
    Title  | WW1   | WW2   | WW3
    OR1    |       |       |
    Demand | 12.00 | 13.00 | 14.00
How to populate display table using field symbol?
    Please give code snippets
    Thanks,
    Gopal

    Gopal,
Here is the code, however I am not vary clear about the ORG1 and Demand display that you have shown in the display. I am sure with this code it should not be a big deal to tweak in whatever manner you want.
    TABLES : marc.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF type_display,
    title(30),
    ww1(10),
    ww2(10),
    ww3(10),
    END OF type_display.
    TYPES: BEGIN OF type_from,
    year(4) TYPE c,
    ww(2) TYPE c,
    site TYPE marc-werks,
    demand TYPE i,
    END OF type_from.
    data : t_from type table of type_from,
           t_display type table of type_display.
    field-symbols : <fs_from> type type_from,
                    <fs_display> type type_display.
    data : wa_from type type_From,
           wa_display type type_display.
    wa_from-year = '2005'.
    wa_from-ww   = '1'.
    wa_from-site = 'OR1'.
    wa_from-demand = '12.00'.
    insert wa_from  into table t_from.
    wa_from-year = '2005'.
    wa_from-ww   = '2'.
    wa_from-site = 'OR1'.
    wa_from-demand = '13.00'.
    insert wa_from  into table t_from.
    wa_from-year = '2005'.
    wa_from-ww   = '3'.
    wa_from-site = 'OR1'.
    wa_from-demand = '14.00'.
    insert wa_from  into table t_from.
    data : variable(3) type c.
    field-symbols : <fs_any> type any.
    break-point.
    Loop at t_from assigning <fs_from>.
    variable = 'WW'.
    wa_display-title = <fs_from>-site.
    concatenate variable <fs_from>-ww into variable.
assign component variable of structure wa_display to <fs_any>.
    <fs_any> = <fs_from>-demand.
    endloop.
    append wa_display to t_display.
    clear wa_display.
    loop at t_display assigning <Fs_display>.
      write :/ <fs_display>.
    endloop.
Note : Please award points if this helps you.

  • Data Maintain in a table form another table....using field symbols.

    Hi,
I am using dynamic table concepts.I am using field symbols.I need to maintain two tables of similar structure.
when i append data it will enter into both tables.when i unassign first table and reassign it ,i am getting back that data again into first table ..how to slve this problem.i need to start first table as fresh table and second table contain copy of the first table.

    Hi,
maybe you should clarify your problem a bit more by pasting some code and try to explain it a bit more in detail.

    Hi
    Hope it will help you.

    Field Symbols
Field symbols are placeholders or symbolic names for other fields. They do not physically reserve space for a field, but point to its contents. A field symbol cam point to any data object. The data object to which a field symbol points is assigned to it after it has been declared in the program.
Whenever you address a field symbol in a program, you are addressing the field that is assigned to the field symbol. After successful assignment, there is no difference in ABAP whether you reference the field symbol or the field itself. You must assign a field to each field symbol before you can address the latter in programs.
Field symbols are similar to dereferenced pointers in C (that is, pointers to which the content operator * is applied). However, the only real equivalent of pointers in ABAP, that is, variables that contain a memory address (reference) and that can be used without the contents operator, are reference variables in ABAP Objects.
All operations programmed with field symbols are applied to the field assigned to it. For example, a MOVE statement between two field symbols moves the contents of the field assigned to the first field symbol to the field assigned to the second field symbol. The field symbols themselves point to the same fields after the MOVE statement as they did before.
You can create field symbols either without or with type specifications. If you do not specify a type, the field symbol inherits all of the technical attributes of the field assigned to it. If you do specify a type, the system checks the compatibility of the field symbol and the field you are assigning to it during the ASSIGN statement.
Field symbols provide greater flexibility when you address data objects:
If you want to process sections of fields, you can specify the offset and length of the field dynamically.
You can assign one field symbol to another, which allows you to address parts of fields.
Assignments to field symbols may extend beyond field boundaries. This allows you to address regular sequences of fields in memory efficiently.
You can also force a field symbol to take different technical attributes from those of the field assigned to it.
The flexibility of field symbols provides elegant solutions to certain problems. On the other hand, it does mean that errors can easily occur. Since fields are not assigned to field symbols until runtime, the effectiveness of syntax and security checks is very limited for operations involving field symbols. This can lead to runtime errors or incorrect data assignments.
While runtime errors indicate an obvious problem, incorrect data assignments are dangerous because they can be very difficult to detect. For this reason, you should only use field symbols if you cannot achieve the same result using other ABAP statements.
For example, you may want to process part of a string where the offset and length depend on the contents of the field. You could use field symbols in this case. However, since the MOVE statement also supports variable offset and length specifications, you should use it instead. The MOVE statement (with your own auxiliary variables if required) is much safer than using field symbols, since it cannot address memory beyond the boundary of a field. However, field symbols may improve performance in some cases.

The syntax check performed in an ABAP Objects context is stricter than in other ABAP areas. See Cannot Use Untyped Field Symbols ad Cannot Use Field Symbols as Components of Classes.
    Effect
This statement declares a symbolic field called <fs>. At runtime, you can assign a concrete field to the field symbol using ASSIGN. All operations performed with the field symbol then directly affect the field assigned to it.
You can only use one of the additions.
    Example
Output aircraft type from the table SFLIGHT using a field symbol:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <PT> TYPE ANY.
    DATA SFLIGHT_WA TYPE SFLIGHT.
    ASSIGN SFLIGHT_WA-PLANETYPE TO <PT>.

    ... LIKE LINE OF s
    Addition 7
    ... TYPE tabkind
    Effect
You can define the type of the field symbol using additions 2 to 7 (just as you can for FORM parameters (compare Defining the Type of Subroutine Parameters). When you use the ASSIGN statement, the system carries out the same type checks as for USING parameters of FORMs.
This addition is not allowed in an ABAP Objects context. See Cannot Use Obsolete Casting for FIELD SYMBOLS.
In some cases, the syntax rules that apply to Unicode programs are different than those for non-Unicode programs. See Defining Types Using STRUCTURE.
    Effect
Assigns any (internal) field string or structure to the field symbol from the ABAP Dictionary (s). All fields of the structure can be addressed by name: <fs>-fieldname. The structured field symbol points initially to the work area wa specified after DEFAULT.
The work area wa must be at least as long as the structure s. If s contains fields of the type I or F, wa should have the structure s or at least begin in that way, since otherwise alignment problems may occur.
    Example
Address components of the flight bookings table SBOOK using a field symbol:
    DATA SBOOK_WA LIKE SBOOK.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <SB> STRUCTURE SBOOK
    DEFAULT SBOOK_WA.
    WRITE: <SB>-BOOKID, <SB>-FLDATE.

  • How to use Field exit

    Hi,
Our consultant wants to use field exit as a way to validate a certain field in a screen for tcode MB1B.
I tried to follow the steps below to create a field exit but it seems that I'm missing a step or two because it doesn't work.
    1. Run program RSMODPRF in se38.
    2. Enter the data element and the number of field exit
    3. create and activate the function module
After this I run tcode MB1B but it seems that it did not pass through the field exit.
Do I need an extra step to make the field exit work? And how do I assign a field exit to a certain screen?
Hope to hear from you guys soon.
    Thanks!

    Hi Jackie,
    1.Enter the tcode SE38
2.In the ABAP Editor enter the program name RSMODPRF
    3.Execute
4.Then you will get a screen with Data Element and Number of Field Exit
Here enter the Data Element(for example MATNR for material no.) and
enter 0 to 9 or A to Z in the second field(I am taking 0 in my example)
    5. Execute
6.Then you will be navigated to the Function Builder screen(se37) with FM name FIELD_EXIT_MATNR_0
The FM name contains the Data Element(MATNR) and No. of Field Exit (0) (in this case)
    7.Then click on CREATE.
8.Give the Fun. Grp name and SAVE
9.It will take youn to the Source code wherein ypu have to write the code asb per your requirement
    For Example:
    FUNCTION FIELD_EXIT_MATNR.
IF INPUT BETWEEN 125 AND 150.
MESSAGE E000(ZMM) WITH "Material not allowed".
    ENDIF.
    ENDFUNCTION.
10.Then if you try to enter the values in MM01 for Material no.,this effect comes into picture
If you enter Material no between 125 and 150 you will get "Material not allowed".
Follow the above procedure with your requirements(data element, screen name)
And to assign a screen name and program to a Field Exit:
In the 'Field Exits for Data elements' screen, in the application tool bar you can assign the Program name and Screen no. by clicking Assign Prog. /Screen.
You will get the above screen by
    1. goto tcode CMOD
    2. Enter PRFB in the command prompt and press ENTER
Another procedure for implementing the Field Exit:
One more way to do this is goto tcode CMOD.
Enter PRFB in the command prompt and press ENTER
In the screen select the menu Field exit --> Create and follow the same procedure as above.

I have a scenario where my Cred.lim.used field which is a %age value is not getting updated in fd32
when I go to fd33 for a customer my Credit limit is 1,000,000.00
and Credit exposure is 1,138.28- but the %age is 0.00 %.
    any suggestions
    thanks,

    Hi
Think logically how it will show the   credit limit used in percentage just calculate
credit limit used*100/ total credit limit
    1,138.28*100
    1,000,000.00
will come to 0.11 % so system wont show it will consider only if it is more than 1%
    regards

  • How to display the fields in ALV Output without using Field catalog?

How to display the fields in ALV Output without using Field catalog?
Could you pls tell me the coding?
    Akshitha.

    Hi,
u mean without building field catalog. is it? I that case, we can use the FM REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE.
data: itab type table of mara.
    CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_FIELDCATALOG_MERGE'
    EXPORTING
    i_program_name = sy-repid
    i_structure_name = itab
    CHANGING
    ct_fieldcat = lt_fieldcat[]
    EXCEPTIONS
    inconsistent_interface = 1
    program_error = 2
    OTHERS = 3.
*Pass that field catalog into the fillowing FM
    call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
           exporting
                i_callback_program      = gd_repid
                i_grid_title            = 'REPORTING'
                is_layout              = gt_layout

  • New formula field in PLD

    Hi All,
I created a new field in PLD, that is when customer exceeds balance Rs.1000 it should be printed in the PLD like "Please pay your debit-Rs1000, and when customer balance is below Rs1000 it should not be printed.
First I created a text field that is "Please pay your debit"
Second I created a database Field, Table "Business Partner"
and Column "Account Balance".(Unique ID is F_138).I linked this database to formula field.
             Third I created a formula "Field_138>=1000".(Unique ID is F_141).
But it displays in the PLD, even if the business partner balance is less than Rs.1000. Please explain what is the problem.
    Thanks
    Pratheeviraj

    Hi Sridharan,
Yes, I gone through the E-Learning for PLD, from that only I created a formula for scenario which I mentioned above and the formula is "Acc_Balance>=1000" and the system message is "errors were found in the formula field: Acc_Balance. Do you still want to save".
Because of this problem only I post a new thread for formula creation, which you have answered.
And in the E-Learning demo I am not understanding properly, in that the unique ID is mentioned as cond1 I don't know how to create cond1 in unique ID, and they links this unique ID to database, formula and text fields, this is not understanding for me.
That's why I post new thread.
    Thanks
    Pratheeviraj.

No, you will need the data in an internal table to use ALV.

  • Contract and Purchase Order Release using field REVNO

Can anyone explain how to use field REVNO  in both the characteristics and class so that any change in the version number requires the document have the release status blocked?

On the Addnl data tab in the characteristic (TCode CT04) you can create a characteristic for REVNO for both PRs and POs using the following table and field names.
    PRs
    CEBAN-REVNO
    POs
    CEKKO-REVNO
Then you assign these characteristics to a class and set the revision values or range of values in class values.
    Hope this helps.

  • Delete row from internal table using field symbol.

    Hi friends,
I created dynamic internal table using field symbol. I want to delete some data using where clause.
for example. i want to use like,
        DELETE <FS> WHERE KUNNR = WA_KNA1-KUNNR.
Like the above statment it won't work. How i can use delete with where clause in field symbols.
Hope any one can help me.
    Thanks and regards
    Srikanth. S

    hi Srikanth,
I think you have to LOOP through the whole internal table and check each line and decide to delete or not:
    LOOP at <itab> INTO <wa>.
ASSIGN COMPONENT 'KUNNR' OF STRUCTURE <wa> TO <field>.
    CHECK <field> IS ASSIGNED.
    IF <field> EQ WA_KNA1-KUNNR.
    DELETE ...
    ENDIF.
    UNASSIGN <field>.
    ENDLOOP.
    hope this helps

  • Using Fields from PDF when saving

Im looking on how to use fields in a pdf form when saving the form.
    ex. Incident Report
Staff open up the form. Put in the information. Want it so when they save it puts the clients name and date in the save as. So they open Incident_Report.pdf when they save it would be Incident_Report_ClientsName_Date.pdf Yes the staff could type that in that way but want to make it as easy for everyone involved.

So let's say you have the following fields in your file:
    Incident_Report
    ClientsName
    Date
You can then add this code to the file's WillSave action (under Tools - JavaScript - Set Document Actions):
    var newFileName = this.getField("Incident_Report").valueAsString + "_" + this.getField("ClientsName").valueAsString + "_" + this.getField("Date").valueAsString + ".pdf";
app.response("Please copy the text below and use it as the new file-name:","", newFileName)
Of course, you can adjust the message to the user, and even the format of the file-name, although I've used the format you specified.

  • How to set item values without using fields in branch's ACTION block?

Okay, I will try to say this in a easy way so it is not weird.
I have created a button, SAVE, that has a Branch of branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page. This is my code for the branch:
    if :P2008_NAP_SUPPORTING_MATERIALS = 'Yes' then
    return '2092';
    else
    return '2040';
    end if;
The code for this type of branch is stored in the ACTION block of the Branch page. The ACTION block for a Branch of branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page is different than the ACTION block for a Branch of branch type: Branch To Page Or URL.
I need to set some item values with some specific values, which I can do with a branch type: Branch To Page Or URL. This is not possible with the branch type: Branch To Function Returning A Page. The ACTION block is totally different.
How can I set some values on say Page 2040 from Page 2008 without using fields in the branch's ACTION block?
    Thank you in advance,
    Maggie

    Andy and Scott,
I love seeing different perspectives in solving problems, it opens my eyes to new ways of looking at/using the tools (reserved words and 'Function returning a Page', etc.).
One of my pet peeves has been that on branches I was limited to only 10 variables to be passed (I know, who would want more - but there was an instance where I had to pass more), and an even more frustrating time when using report Column Linking, which limits me to 3 variables.
At least with the Branch linking I can use your suggestion Andy and add the variable setting statements into the function. I am assuming of course (and I should be able to) that I will be able to set more that 10 variables in a IF condition prior to the RETURN statement. This method will be much more understandable, for me, when looking through the branch at a later time to see what is happening, than an URL link where all the variable are strung out 'in a line' so to speak.
I will still need to use URL Target branching on Links contained within a Column Attribute when I need to pass more than 3 variables, of which I have several places where I do this.
