PLEASE HELP - duplicates in my playlist
hi all, I have recently had to re-install my computer and reinstall everything. I have somehow managed to install duplicate songs into my itunes (up to 5 copies of each song). Can anyone tell me how I can remove the duplicates or suggest any other remedies.
Also I foolishly forgot to de-authorise my old itunes, before we did the system restore and had to reload everything back on. Is 5 the maximum you are allowed? Are there any ways this can be overcome?

Or are there only 5 duplicates in iTunes?
If you copy the iTunes folder (and delete what is on there now) from the backup you made before reinstalling, it should work okay.

5 is the max you can authorize at any one time. When you de-authorize, you can then re-authorize other computers.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone can tell me how i can put songs onto my creative vision M with the same name or is it not possible? It just comes up with skip track or replace track, and i dont want to skip it or replace the existing track with the same name. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks 4 ur time!
I actually have quite a few songs that have the same name, so I had to add a - or other acceptable character to the end of the title. That's the only thing I found that worked for me.

I'm so new to this forum and if this post was in a wrong place, please forgive me!
I recently added a lot of songs into my Ipod. But today, I found that those songs weren't on my playlists, so I add them again (I don't know why?). Unfortunately, the songs I added yesterday WERE IN MY IPOD but not in Itunes (even in My Ipod Icon in Itunes). So I have many duplicated songs in my Ipod but only one copy in Itunes. Now I want to remove those duplicated songs and ones that present in Ipod hard drive but not appear in Itunes. Please help me to do so.
(I don't have Itunes Library in my computer since it takes too much space. I found this problem when I use a software to detect duplicated files. Many other songs that I didn't add today but already in my Ipod, and I want to remove those also!)
This is my 2nd Ipod and I know how to update firmware, adding songs... Please help me to solve this problem since it took about 3GB of wasting space on my Ipod!

Firstly, with Ipod's tiny screen, are you going to browse one by one to see which songs are duplicated in about more than 300 duplicated files?
Secondly, And if you found it that way, what can you do in the Ipod itself? Ipod doesn't allow you to delete songs directly from itself. And when you plug it in the computer, run Itunes, those songs are disappeared (I said it didn't show on the Itunes). How can you delete it?
Thirdly, Those songs are not displayed in Ipod and Itunes! I only can found some duplicated songs via another software which only search for duplicated songs. And for songs that I didn't add in the second time, there's no way that I can find it.
In this case, I think there's only one solution that having a software to check the intire Ipod's database to find if there's anysong that present in Ipod's hard drive but not in Itunes.

I don't agree with you about this. Mp3 is collected from many sources. Many of them only have "Track 1" or "track n" in the title, and "No artist" or whatever artist etc... When we add it into Ipod, we have to rename it or correct it the way we like.
And look at the picture below, will you still think that Itunes doesn't remane them when they are put in the Ipod?. In this images, you'll see a long list of folders that stored music in your Ipod. The problem is any song that recently added into Ipod can be stored in folder F00 through Fnn.

And in this picture, a list of my music added into Ipod. Do you have your music named as 1584, HGNC or something like that? No, I don't think so and I don't think anyone on this earth could name thier music files that way. So, it's clear that Itunes DOES rename those song in it's own way and it's not a good way to handle music!

Please help. Trying to create external xml vidoe playlist. Desperate!
I was given an assignment to create and external video playlist using an xml file. I have never used flash before, know nothing about encoding and all that was given to the class in terms of instuctions was a short tutorial that has no resources for troubleshooting. We were given everything; the external playlist file equipped with the video skin, the video list, actionscript that loads the xml and the xml file. We were told that all we need to do is change the names of the videos in the xml file to match the names of our videos. I did that. We were also told we needed to "name target", but we were not informed on how to do this. I have tried everything, visited every tutorial and I cannot figure out how to get this damn thing to work. I cannot even get flash to load the xml file. PLEASE HELP.

I tried placing the full address of the xml file in, along with the file address of the videos, but again it did nothing. Everything is located in the same file, and the videos in a sub file in that file. I tried taking out the sub file and putting all the videos in the same file, but it did nothing. iTunes wont open for me. it keeps saying "the Disc "untitled playlist" cannot be read. An unknown error occurred (-69)." don't know how to get it to work. Please help

How do I transfer my checked songs from one computer to another - tried exporting library playlist etc but no luck! Please help! I have 26,000 songs - 17,000 are selected and I can't run down the list on my new computer and re-check 17,000 songs! Thanks!
Make a smart playlist of your whole library but only checked songs - #4 on http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1801
Highlight all files in that playlist, then drag to the other drive. This isn't preserving any playlists or whatever, just copying files from one drive to another.
You might want to delete the smart playlist this once you are done because it will probably gobble up resources with that many files. -

Whenever I connect my 4th generation iPod thouch, all of the playlists on my iPod get deleted. This is very frustrating. Someone please help me? I searched the settings on iTunes and couldn't find anything.
Also, when I go on to safari, another alert pops up that safari cannot verify the identity of the website, anything that I type in to as common as google.com. It gives me 3 options to either cancel, look at details, and continue. I've looked at the details of the website of Google and it is legitimate the site. Any help?

My PC computer was wiped (virus) including itunes. How do I transfer the many playlists and music on my ipod to the new re-installed itunes?? Ipod is synced to old itunes. I have all original music files on external hard drive. Please help?
New itunes is trying to wipe the ipod. But have many many playlists (many hours making) which I want to save. Any help would be appreciated.If you want to just extract the playlists from your iPod, plug it in iTunes. When it appears under devices, right->click on it and choose Export Playlists. Save them to a location such as your desktop and them import them into your library once you have copied and imported all of your music back into it.

Trying to create HTML5 Video Playlist in Edge Animate - I can't get it to work. Please help!?!?

I am creating an interactive site through Edge Animate and am in the process of trying to create a HTML 5 Video Playlist to function within Edge Animate.
Current Process - Example:
I have 3 videos that need to be played on a certain page.
I created a symbol and dragged the videos to the stage and hidden them within that symbol's timeline.
I then use thumbnail images in a side playlist to either .remove(); .hide(); a video and .show(); the next.
However when I do a hide / show option, the video continue to plays in the background if I don't also create an if/else statement to pause it.
My concern with pausing it is that it will continue to load and dramatically slow down the load time of the site.

I have been working frantically to implement your solution to get this working. I used the 'change src' method.

Issue #1:
I am having major problems with loading the 'closed captions' track element.
Everything I click for the video to change source / to the next video, the closed caption track adds to the video and doesn't 'unload' the previous one. You then end up with multiple different subtitle tracks on the video screen
- The closed captions / subtitles are not showing up in Google Chrome either?
Issue #2:
I can't get the event listener in edge animate to work for 'playing' and 'ended'. Can you please help and point me in the correct direction??

I just gave my daughter my 8 year old daughter my shuffle and i created a new playlist on itunes 10. I transfered it over and it was great. I upgraded the iTunes software to 11.0 and made changes to her kid friendly playlist on MacBook and deleted the playlist on the shuffle and wen to transfer and I could not transfer. It was very easy to do on iTunes 10 and now I need some help in figuring it out. Photos in Photo Library are the ones that you've synced from your iTunes to your iPad. To free up space, you should delete these photos on your Photo Library since you already have the copies on your computer: Connect your iPad with your computer > Launch iTunes > click your iPad and navigate to Photos window > check Sync Photos from > select an empty folder and click Apply to carry out the syncing. After then, all photos in your Photo Library will be deleted.
As for photos in Camera Roll on your iPad, you should copy them to your computer for backup and deleted the copies on your iPad:Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support
