when i start my i pod touch(3rd gen) screen appears to shake first while starting what should i do to repair this ?
I really do not understand your problem. Here are the standard fixes.
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

My IPod touch froze and its not responding at all what can i do to fix it?
my IPod touch froze and its not responding at all what can i do to fix it?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. -

This happened to me aswell, but it happened to me when I plugged it into the PC but same problem. what you have to do is move the 'Hold Switch' to put it on hold and then move it back again and then hold both the 'Menu button' and button in the middle of the click wheel. then it will turn off and then come up with the Apple logo and then it will work fine and you can try again. (P.S: If it doesnt show the Apple logo just try pressing any button

My iPod nano 3rd gen went mad then all the songs were gone can I get them back
My iPod nano 3rd gen wiped all my music can I recover it
If it's no longer in iTunes or stored in a backup anywhere, I"m afraid you are out of luck.
For music purchased in iTunes, you can redownload it again no cost via iCloud if you live in a country where this service has gone live. See this article for more details.

As for music imported from outside of iTunes, you'll need to rerip those into iTunes if at all possible.

Itunes 10.5.2 Freezes when i sync my iPod touch 3rd gen on ios 5
Hello everyone!
I have to questions that i hope a member of the apple community can hopefully help me with here they are.
1. I need a solution that is proven to work either by you or a video of some sort to help me with this issue.
I have a 3rd gen Ipod Touch (As it says as my title) its currently running ios 5 and itunes running 10.5.2. When i try to Transfer Purchases the Itunes Freezes completely. And as a result i have to open task manager and end process.
2.Also My Ipod has chosen to freeze every now and again it basically freezes in the state where it looks like i have locked my screen so it like i have just pressed the lock button. So i try pressing the lock button again to see if that works which it didnt after i tried it with the home button and still no luck however it will randomly go back to normal as if it never happened.
Please could someone answer these two questions it would be apprecicated.
Regards.
P.S thanks in advance- You will never get a proven solution since there are many many causes of your problems. Wait, there is a proven solution. Puchase a new Mac and a new iPod.

Please help me get my 3rd Gen talking to XP
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to this, and i'm sure this has probably been covered before but i am completely stuck.
A friend gave me his 10gig 3rd gen iPod for Christmas (he has upgraded to a touch). It is MAC formatted at present, but i am a PC user.
I planned on following the restore and update option, and connected it via one of the usb ports (i bought a USB cable as the PC does not have firewire), but windows just displays a 'unrecognised' message and iTunes doesn't see it at all.
It also knocks out the BT wireless adapter i have plugged into one of the other USB ports.
Things i have tried so far;
1) several restarts
2) Using diff usb ports
3) connecting cable and iPod to my works laptop. Herein lies the irony...Connects up fine to the works laptop, however...the locked network settings mean that the laptop cannot access my home router, so this is just a test option.
4) trawled through pages of support on the Apple pages.
Can anyone help me?
Specs for reference;
HP 1.8 Celeron with 700+ RAM (can't remember the exact number)
iTunes 7.5
6*USB 2.0 Ports.
BT USB Wireless network adapter
Windows XP Home SP2 (fully updated with ALL fixes/patches etc.)
Please help,The 3rd Gen iPod can only handle restores/upgrades/etc. through FireWire. They can only charge via FW too.

Need help registering iPod Nano (3rd Gen) into iTunes
Got the 3rd Gen iPod nano for Christmas, but I'm having difficulty setting it up.
The manual says I need to wait for something known as a "Setup Assist" to come up. Nothing ever did.
Also, in iTunes, it tells me (when I click on the iPod icon under "devices") that I still need to register the product. It takes me to the terms and conditions sheet, and as is typical, tells me to "agree to terms" and then... I click "save." it asks me to save an rtf file onto my computer. I do so, but nothing ever happens. And my iPod still won't work.
Am I saving it somewhere wrong? (I've saved it in My Documents, as well as the iPod and iTunes folders in My Programs)
Any help is appreciated, and Merry ChristmasOkay! I found out what to do.
What you're going to have to do is go into the Control Panel on your computer.
Go into "Appearance and themes." You're going to have to change the screen resolution. 1280x600 or so should do the trick.
Go back into iTunes and you should see the "continue" button on the far right. (Very scrunched up and annoying, I know. But it works!)
I hope that helps you out. -

The iPod was working fine, then after about 45 minutes of use i looked as if battery drained.
I charged it fully again (until green light) and then turned it on, green light and then orange light blinks five times...
I can't play /pause, or turn volume up or down from the remote... tried with original Apple earphones, and two Bose MIE2i (original and sports models)...
Any ideas of what can be wrong? or how can I fix it?
Already tried restoring it to factory settings.... it didn't solved the problem...Hey there PakoArreola!

Ipod touch 2nd gen home button does not respond
I have tried restarting my ipod several times but my problem still trmains.
The home button does not respond. I can get to the screen with all my apps, but once I get into an app, I cannot exit it. What can I do?See:
fix for Home button
Fix a broken, unresponsive or sticky iPhone Home Button
You can also go to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn on Assistive Touch It adds the Home button to the iPod's screen.
Yes, if you get it fixes, the iPod will likely be erased. Apple will not repair your old iPod, they exchange it for a refurbished one and do not transfer data.
