Please,
what does 'String[] args' in main is set to in a normal no parameters static main function??
I have a frame with a static main function in it, in the main i want to do one thing if the function got parameters and another if it didnt.
if i check for (if (args[0] == "Load") i get an exception
and args is not null, i know, how do i know if the array has parameters??

args[0].equals("Load");

Hai all, i had a small doubt regarding the usage of String args[] in main function. When we are not passing any parameters to the program also, we have to give this String args[]. why should we do so. I mean when we pass some arguements to the program then there is the usage of String args[] but when we are not passing also, we have to give String args[] in the main function. why is it made mandatory?

There is only one method signature that the JVM will call. This is part of the Java specification.
The String[] args parameter represents the command line arguments. If there were none, the array will be empty.
Think about it: imagine there were two versions, one with and one without the String[] args parameter, and your application doesn't expect any command line arguments, so it implements only the version with no parameter at all. What would happen if the user decides to provide some command line arguments just for fun?

Advice please - what does Quick Time Pro do?

I'm thinking of buying Quick Time Pro for Windows.
I have video files in the following formats: .mov (from my iphone4), .AVI, .mp4 (AVI files converted via Handbrake for itunes), plus some older low quality files in .3GP and .MPG.
I want to the do the following:
1. Convert all the files to itunes so that I can view on my ipod and Apple TV.
2. I want to merge some of the files to make longer video clips
3. I want to add title menus for the clips and chapters within them.
Can I do these things with QuickTime Pro or not?

1. Add the file to your iTunes Library and use its Advanced menu to make iPod and Apple TV versions. No need for the "Pro" upgrade of QuickTime Player in most cases.
Muxed file formats (MPEG 1 and 2) will play in QuickTime Player (extra $20 software required for MPEG-2) but audio can't be extracted or exported. Use MPEG Streamclip instead.
2. Joining files is copy/paste simple with the Pro upgrade. Save As will place all of the tracks into a .mov container but no export of the file is required. This makes it very fast and doesn't require re-compression of already compressed tracks.
You can adjust the dimensions after adding mismatched tracks in the Movie Properties window.
3. I don't know what you mean by "title menus". You can import image file formats and add them to any supported format.
QuickTime Player Pro can import "text" which can be added to a file as both text over video and chapter tracks.
QuickTime Player Pro is also an authoring application. Two of my pages as examples:

removing volume control doesn't work for me. please don't try. I tried because i have replaced my LCD before and it is easier for me to do so. Removing your LCD will cause whole lot more issue, such as damage to your WIFI antenna, power and volume button, LCD, and all kind of issue.
The only solution that "experts" can tell you is to restore via DFU mode and this WILL NOT solve the issue, or restore with save SHSH, which i believe most of you don't have. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME AND GET A DEVICE THAT YOU CAN REALLY "WIPE" AND "RESTORE".
So far there is no solution to fix the "Restoring IPAD firmware" or "Updating IPAD firmware". I really don't know why Apple is adding the check after IOS 7 which is causing so many issues for ipad 2. I guess the reason behind is because the warranty expire and perfect time to force ipad 2 user to buy new ipad, which I personally don't feel like much improvement. WHY WE NEED APPLE approves when restoring the device that we already paid FULL price for?????
It is ashamed that the issue caused by update or restore are not covered by warranty too. so stay away from new IOS and it will only brick your device and force you to get new device. it is opened secret that new upgrade for any device will ONLY slow down your device and force you to buy new one, especially when new IOS is not making your FLY.

When ever we use PNP LDB in the program attributes all the fields on the selection screen are referred like that: pnppersg,pnpabkes, pnppersk etc.

Error code - 1407 what does it mean?

I have just bought new LaCie Hard Drive, formated it to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) -
I thought in this way it will sync with Mac better and connected it via USB 2.0 to my Airport Extreme Base Station.
I can see the disk in Airport Utility under disk tab and in Finder Go>Network
Unfortunatelly my problem is that when I drag something into my new disk I get *Error code - 1407*
_Can you tell me please what does it mean and what can I do?_

"Error code -38" is a file error - the file is not open, when it should be played. There must be a problem with the audio file format of your voice recording.

What does this log mean? Fresh os install still can only safe boot

*My head is about to explode.*
*Last night, I pulled my old hard drive. put in new one and did fresh install.*
*Ever confident that this would magically fix my computer.*

*I ran AHT. everything passed. I have reseted every thing and reset logic board. yes only one push of the magic button*

thank you thank you for taking an interest. this is so frustrating.
i only have apple keyboard, mighty mouse, and 20 inch cinema display connected. this morning took out memory and tried to boot up with individual pairs in the first bank. first the (2)256, the (2) 1g, and then the other (2) 1g modules. everytime I get the weird fuzzy wheel under the logo after a while, black screen flashes, then grey apple logo fuzzy screen then black forever.
I ran tiger updates this morn. still will only boot to safe mode. then tried to run leopard disk to install it
will not boot from leopard disk.
tried safe boot, then doulble click install leopard, restart, then the saga repeats with the pixely red square around the wheel.
these are fresh drives with only what came on instll disk loaded.

i love this system(well at least i did). I want to install leopard on my powerbook too but am terrified to do so right now since it is working and I have work to do. Can't afford to have no computer to do my work on...self employment is great?!

If the Time Capsule is operating normally, the light will be green.
If the amber light is blinking, something is not adjusted correctly, or there may be an update available for the Time Capsule.
Do you have the device that was used to set up and configure the Time Capsule there? Is this a Mac? If yes, we need to know what operating sysem it is using.
If you are not sure, click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....
