Plug-in 1.3.1_01a works, 1.3.1_07 doesn't

We have been using plug-in 1.3.1_01a for a while now from IE 6.0, and want to move to JRE 1.3.1_07. We are using the Netscape signtool 1.1 and a Verisign certificate. When I try to run an applet under 1.3.1_07, the new plug-in installs, and I get ExceptionInInitializerError: java.security.AccessControlException on the first call to System.getProperty. When I access the plug-in control panel, it indicates that no certificate is loaded.
Why would such a seemingly minor change in JRE versions be causing this much trouble? Does anyone have an idea what to do about this? I tried loading the certificate into the browser, with the same results.

have you ever used a self-created test certificate created with signtool 1.3 and signed a applet with it ?
We used signtool 1.3 to sign a applet but when it was loaded in IE 5.0/NS 7.02 with Plugin 1.3.1_04 then we got the following exception:

We also used jarsigner with a self-created certificate but got a AccessControllException in NS (NOT in IE) read a file from disk (see my post here: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=63&thread=370731 ).
Do you have an idea how I can sign my applet with signtool 1.3 ?

All the video tests passed with flying colors.
The sniffer rename trick fixed the problem.

Since I updated to firefox 5.0, the windows media player plug in for firefox doesnt work anymore :(

Ok I recently upgraded to firefox 5.0, and then when I went to a website that uses windows media player to watch videos and news reports, it said I needed to download the windows media player plug in for firefox. And yet I had already done that in the past. So it directs me to the plug in for windows media player 11, I download and install and it doesnt work. Website repeats the same message, you need to download plug in. It was working fine with firefox 4.0! I use the OS Windows 7, 64bit. Any help please?

Yes I did, at first it identified it as already there, so it gave the option of repairing it, etc, so I uninstalled the Windows Media Player, then Installed it again, and it still doesn't seem to work! I have the same problem with several other plug ins, in the add ons and plug in section of Mozilla tools, I see that say, "incompatible with firefox 5.0" but as days go by those add-ons, that are built by those other websites seem to be repairing it, but I wanted to know for something as important as windows media player plug in, am I the only one getting this problem? :/

Third Party plugs don't seem to work on nodes

I've got a node working with Logic 8 and it works great with the Logic plugs. I've tried several third party plugs and none of them work: Ozone, Trash, Vintage Warmer, Airwindows Iron Oxide. The manual says ". . . some Audio Unit effects may not support the Node functionality of Logic Pro." So do the developers now have to redesign their plugins somehow to make them work with nodes? Has anyone been able to get a third party plugin working on a node?

The manual specifically states that third party plug-ins are supported. So Matrixx, it looks like you're using a G4 as your node which is what I was doing. Perhaps I need a more recent version of Vintage Warmer. Are you also using Logic plugs on the tracks that have VW? I'm wondering whether you can mix and match third party with logic plugs on the same track. Well, this is encouraging. I really want the Airwindows stuff to work and I've got the most recent versions there. Do you have Iron Oxide? have you tried any Airwindows plugs?

Plug-in container has stopped working. No printing from web

Went to print a receipt from a web page and got firefox 'not responding'. Then error message after I click to close..."plug-in container has stopped working". I have reset ff, i have uninstalled and reinstalled. flash is up to date. I have EWPS plug in (I have an epson printer) and E web page plug in.
When I checked in my pc for the ewps, it doesn't open but says it needs plug in container and to re download e-web print. did that. No better.
Not an epson issue as other stuff prints.

Are there other pages on the site (same host name, e.g., www.example.com) that do not lock up Firefox? If so, please open one of those pages and then switch all the plugins to "Ask to Activate" for the site. Here's what I mean:
Click the padlock or globe in the address bar and then click "More Information". At the top of the Page Info dialog, click Permissions. Then, in the plugins section, click "Always Ask" for each one and close the dialog.
The next time you visit the problem page, Firefox should show a bar telling you which plugin needs to be activated. Actually, this might not kick in until after you exit and start Firefox up again.

ATtempt to power off your device and power it back on, if that doesn't work reset all settings should resolve it for you

Can someone help me any of the plug-ins I download for imovie are not in their.

the plug-ins aren't working and I have tried again several hundred times and I have searched for the right folders, but no matter where a put them they don't work. So if someone could just go over what you have to do exactly to download a plug-in to make it work with imovie it would be much appreciated thanks to anyone who helps me out.

It sounds like a setting change on the computer and iTunes synced the iPod. Yo can only sync with one iTunes library, if yo switch the iPod gets erased and its contents replaced with what is in the iTunes library of the computer.
Go to iTunes>Preferences>Devices and make sure that the box that says "Prevent iPods.. syncing automatically" is checked.

Looking at the details for this mic, it appears that the app has to have the option to use the internal specak when a mic is plugged into the headphone jack. Specifically:
NOTE: When MityMic is plugged into your iPod/iPhone you won’t be able to use the onboard speaker for sound output. You must remove the MityMic then play back your recordings. (The Skype app has an option to enable the onboard speaker even when the mic is plugged in, so you could use MityMic for placing Skype calls. However most other apps do not have this function.)

I'm having serious problems with Lightroom plug in for Facebook not working on my iMac. Help!

It started about a month ago with LR4. I kept getting problems with not being able to publish to Facebook because of problems with the plug-in which had been working perfectly up to then. I had a run round that worked by disableing and reloading the plug in. I upgraded to LR5 but the problem persisted and in fact just became worse. I can no longer publish to facebook from LR. I deleted the LR app in facebook as someone advised but now I cannot re-authorise with Facebook. When I go to the "connect" buton nothing happens. This is a serious problem that may make me reluctantly abandon Lightroom if I cannot find a solution. Can anybody help?

According to the Lightroom Facebook page, Facebook broke it and Facebook has to fix it- there is no ETA.

Wired to laptop works, wired to Airport doesn't

I've been having a fair bit of trouble lately with my Airport Express and I can't work it out. I have a router connected to cable Internet. If I plug an Ethernet cable into the wired router to my laptop I can get the Internet. However, if I plug the same cable into my Airport Express it doesn't see it. I get the flashing amber light and nothing happens.
This hasn't always been the case, up until last week everything had been fine for as long as I can remember.
At first I thought it was my supplier until I realised if I plugged in direct to my laptop it worked ok. So then I thought maybe it's my Airport Express, after a factory reset I have the same issue. And I even have the same issue with a completely different Airport Express.
I just can't work it out. My supplier says if the wire works fine to my laptop then it must be my wireless router, but if both aren't working I seriously doubt that - what are the odds with that?
I'm really confused and my web supplier is no help, they say replace the wireless, but I don't want to spend more money if so far 2 routers have the exact same problem.
Anyone had this? Any help would be really really welcomed.

When you plug the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) into the existing router, you have (by default) two routers in your network configuration. Typically, you would want to reconfigure the second or downstream router as a bridge. When you reset the AX, it defaults to being a wireless router ... so you would need to use the AirPort Utility to reconfigure it as a bridge. (ref: AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode))
