Plugin getting aborted?

I have a plugin that requires a fair bit of processing time to complete its task (between several minutes to several hours depending on data set size); however, the plugin seems to become unresponsive after a time. Illustartor is still functional; however, I can see CPU usage plummit as it stops processing the data and the plugin generated dialog boxes remain unresponsive. Durring this long process I am not making any function calls to the API and the debugger does not announce any errors or exits, it litterally just dies. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure your plugin hasn't just crashed? One annoying thing about Windows plugins is that Illustrator can be surprisingly resilient about surviving a plugin crash. Before we moved to using exceptions anytime we talked to the API, we used to get this kind of thing fairly often in MAPublisher. It can still happen if you feed something really stupid to an API, and its still possible to stomp on your own stack and sometimes just have the plugin die. In these cases, Illustrator seems to just terminate the plugin and carry on.
If you have a Mac version, repeat the steps there. The Mac Illustrator has zero tolerance for several kinds of bugs that aren't fatal (well, to Illustrator) on Windows.
If you don't have a Mac version, use printf()s as suggested. Most importantly at the start & end of your set of functionality. I wouldn't be surprised if you never saw the one at the end. Once you've confirmed that's the problem, you can start hunting for the problem somewhere in between (probably with more printf()s ).

I am developing an acrobat plugin for Acrobat professional 9 which will export all annotations in original document into an xfdf document.The plugin must get triggered on saving the original document after creation of annotation.For this i captured before save event(PDDocWillSave),the code works fine and creates the xfdf. The problem is that sometimes the plugin gets triggered on opening a pdf document or xfdf document and also on creation of annotation. I am unable to detect the problem so far.

I came across a post with the similar problem as mine.There it was written to register AVDocSave instead of PDDocWillSave/PDDocDidSave.I couldn't find AVDocSave but there is AVDocDoSave()method in the API. Can somebody plese giude me how to register the event to capture AVDocDoSave()?
I tried but my code throw error saying : error C2065: 'AVDocDoSaveNPROTO' : undeclared identifier.

Yes, this did solve the problem. But I had some trouble updating QuickTime. It failed, with the installer complaining that it did not have the required permissions to install the files it needed in the program directory. I got it to work by telling it to install the files to another directory. All seems well now - Thanks!

Hi,
Have you checked whether the deployment with the SDM directly works or not ? (not through NWDI).
Also, for the SDM deployment to function correctly, make sure of the following :
Please make sure to set :
- the P4 host to localhost in the Secure Store (setting localhost is a workaround if you have multiple hostnames (virtual/physical)
- the secure store should have the correct password for the j2ee_admin(in case of dual stack) or administrator(in case of java only) as SDM server takes the password from secure store for the login to j2ee engine as administrator which is required for the deployment.
- SAPLOCALHOST, SAPGLOBALHOST, and SAPGLOBALHOSTFULL value in the SCS &
JC profiles must point to the desired hostname/IP. If they don't exist
please create and set accordingly.
- in the sdmrepository.sdc file, the following
values are set expected with expected host :
      <mshost>
        *hostname**
     </mshost>
     <msport>
        **port -can be found in dev_ms file*
     </msport>
Please restart the cluster.
Try to deploy using SDM without the workaround.
If the deployment fails, please paste the exception/error from the lastest sdm log from SDM\program\log directory and corresponding exception from the latest defaultrace file from server0\log directory.

Installation of minisap gets aborted

Hi All,
I have been trying to install mini sap 6.1 in my machine.
When installing it asks for CD location. But the issue is i have both KERNEL and DATA copied on to my hard disk. if I proceed with the installation after giving the location in my hard disk say 'C:\Kernel'the installation gets aborted
I need to install this pretty immedietly, I will be thankful if some one can help me out of this situation.

Is this DC, if SO check that all used DCs are deployed.
One more reason of this exception is when there is name conflict between two projects deployed on the same server , eg say projects A & B have same application name, component name.
When I get this exception, I go to nwa, see logs to find out two conflicting projects and rename one of them and deploy again. It solves my problem.

Why do plugins get slashed out and stop working? how do i fix that?

using logic 9, my computer glitched a bit (i have a pretty full session running) and then some of my plugins and instruments had a slash through them and they wont play back now. how do i "un-slash" them if possible?

Restarting Logic and reloading the project should get them back - it sounds like you ran out of memory. Are you running in 64-bit?

There will be multiple errors in the log for the consolidation failure. If you dig in farther, you eventually locate one that will implicate what part of the rules has the error.
With that said, any recent rule changes? Generally when things break, its courtesy of new functionality. If you were not the one doing the rules and no one "knows", use WinMerge on a older rules file and the current rules extract. That should at least get you a starting point.

CS5 won't allow me to update to allow Nikon D7000 Raw, needs 6.3 plugin, Gets error message and won't allow

CS5 is a couple of years old and no longer being updated or supported. That means the updater is not compatible with the new updating scheme.
If you still want a permanent license, upgrade to CS6 for $200. At least you will have access to the latest Adobe Camera Raw, 9.0 as of now, and it is currently supported.

Some Incoming calls to IPCCX 8.0(2) getting aborted

My Customer take report and verify that there were 09 calls aborted. What type logs in the RTMT (CUCM and or UCCX) is possible verify the reason why this calls was aborted? I am attaching the report. The Customer informed too that there was Agent Available and the call stuck in the queue

Please pull the abandoned call activity report , identify the time of the disconnect and then pull the CCX engine logs for the same time , and you will be able to see the reason for disconnect.

Why is the flash player (plugin) getting slower?

I just upgraded from the current release of 10.1 to a beta that I downloaded last December. A vast improvement!!
The platform is Windows XP SP/3, the host is an Acer AR1600 (Intel Atom 230 + nVidia ION LE). The content provider is Hulu.
The video is displayed at 1080p on a 96" screen via HDMI - this isn't a laptop.
My grandson, complained about the jerky picture, so I upgraded to the latest (16.Nov.10) and while I cannot say it was worse, it definately was not better.
I have fixed the problem by going back to a 10.1 beta I downloaded last December - it has a P1 in the installer's name.
I have no performance problems with Silverlite (Netflix) or Video LAN (VLC) - just Adobe Flash.

Things to try:
check that you don't have any old modules in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
update the device drivers for your graphics/video/display adapter
enable or disable Hardware Acceleration (Flash Player Settings)

How to get the destination path in an photoshop sdk export plugin when using a batch action?

I've written an exporter plugin (not save-as) that exports a given file to a custom format.
I was able to open a file selector dialog and choose a path that is then transported to the saving location.
Now my problem is: Another intended use is batch exporting many files. The user records an action with the export step and then applies a batch on it.
The PS batch window allows you to select the destination to be a directory where the exporter should write the data. Fine.
Now how do I get this path? When running in batch mode the silent flag is set for my plugin so I do not spawn a file selector dialog to annoy the user.
But I am also unable to obtain the path which was selected by the user in the batch window.
The SDK automation plugin Getter has some code to retrieve the path of the file and even that fails as it cannot obtain anything.
PropertyUtils.h has some PIGetWorkPathIndex and PIGetPathName functions but I always get 0 when asking PIGetNumberPaths, and get -1 with PIGetWorkPathIndex.
I would be thankful if somebody could hint me how I can retrieve directories.
It even seems impossible for me to get the path where the file is actually saved. The filter plugin called Propertizer utilizes a function called PIGetDocumentName but this only outputs the file name, not the full path.
(Just to be sure: The file on which the tests run is already saved to disk, if that matters)
Another fun part is: When I record an export step, what is the directory I am exporting into?

Ok, after lots of reading the sdk sample outbound I've realized that or plugin is broken.
When recording an action the outbound plugin stores the current path to gAliasHandle which is then recorded as a scripting parameter. Now when I execute the action I get the alias handle.
However how is this supposed to work with an export plugin and batch processing with a "destination" set to a target? Is this even possible or do I need to double click the export step in the action and "reset" the location even if that causes the entire exporter to run again?

Firefox on linux gets confused when both 32bit and 64bit plugins are found

On a CentOS6 machines, 32bit plugins get installed to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins and 64bit plugins get installed /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins. If both locations have the same plugin installed, such as libflashplayer.so, then 64bit firefox seems to randomly find one first and fail when it sees the 32bit version first. This results in Flash working for some users and not for others .
I can run "strings -a ~/.mozilla/firefox/*/pluginreg.dat | grep usr.lib" and see which users will have it fail because the 32bit path to libflashplayer.so is listed first for them. For the users where it works the 64bit version in /usr/ilb64 is listed first.
I see no way to make 64bit firefox ignore what is in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins as this seems hardcoded into the binary. I also see no way to make the /usr/lib64 path take precedence as I have MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH=/usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins-wrapped
The output I see on the stderr is:

It seems to me at least that plugins in a user set MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH should always take precedence over those in a hard coded path like /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
