Podcast Library, Where to Create One?

Where should my main podcast library be in order for it to be synced across all my devices?
Using an iMac, iPad, iPhone and Apple TV and I want them all synced.
I am only using iTunes and the podcast app.

Hi,
there are a lot of settings how you can implement your HTML content to the portal:
- use KM for display
  - content inside a cm repository
  - content inside the filesystem
  - content from a webdav repository
- create your content as a .war and deploy it as such
- have the content inside a .par
- external webserver outside WebAS at all
For indexing, i.e. the navigation in the portal, it is quite tedious (and error prone) to have for each html page an URL iView.
If you want to have a tight UI integration of the role/workset based navigation and your html index, you may want to preferably implement a navigation connector. The PDK (from SP6 on) already contains a navigation connector example that draws its index tree from an xml file. Such a navigation connector is realized as a .par.
Most of the parts of that navigation connector could be reused for your case.
A navigation connector can be role-sensitive also. The nodes that are provided by a navigation connector can be merged with those provided by the PCD (role/workset navigation). This is also realized in the PDK navigation connector.
As a yet different solution for indexing content you can also use taxonomies in KM.
There are still more possibilities, it depends heaviliy upon your specific needs/scenario.
So these are just some ideas/suggestions.

  • I am trying to transfer photos from my iPhoto library to a newly created one.

    I want to know if I'm doing this the easiest way.  I have an iPhoto library with 45,000 photos.  I just created a new library and want to take some of the photos and put them in the new library.  I created a folder on my desktop where I exported the event, switched libraries and imported to the newly created iPhoto library.  Is the is right steps to take or is there an easier one.

    That will work but there is a more efficient method.  Use the paid version of  iPhoto Library Manager to copy Events from the old library into the new library.  This will also copy any edited versions, keywords, titles, places, etc.

    Yes. Uncheck the Skip option. Highlight all of the podcasts in your newly created playlist and go under File (or right-click...I think on a PC?) and select Get Info. You can turn off the skip option there on all of the files at one time.
    Yes...set up this way, if you're shuffling a music playlist, you won't get podcasts mixed in. It will just shuffle the individual playlist. If you just choose Shuffle Songs from the main menu, where it shuffles every file on the iPod, then you might get a podcast.

When I double click on a rectangle, the image appears, but all the other rectangles remain empty - no image. How do I get images to appear in the browser rectangles? I am viewing this on a second computer (an older intel duo iMac), not the one I created the library on (a MacBook Pro). Both computers have Aperture 3.2.4 installed. When I return the external to the MacBook, all images appear in browser rectangles. What's happening on the iMac?

    You may have a problem with the permissions on your external volume. Probably you are not the owner of your library on the second mac.
    If you have not already done so, set the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag on your external volume. To do this, select the volume in the Finder and use the Finder command "File > Get Info" (or ⌘I).
    In the "Get Info" panel disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick, open the padlock, and enable the "Ignore Ownership on this Volume" flag. You will have to authentificate as administrator to do this.
    Then run the "Aperture Library First Aid Tools" on this library and repair the permissions. To launch the "First Aid Tools" hold down the ⌥⌘-key combination while you double click your Aperture Library. Select "Repair Permissions" and run the repair; then repeat with "Repair Database". Do this on the omputer where you created the library and where you can see the thumbnails.
    Then check, if you now are able to read the library properly on your iMac.

  • How to upload podcasts which are not in the iTunes podcast library?

    or how to create a playlist of podcasts?
    I have some podcasts as mp3 files I'd like to upload. These podcasts are not in the Itunes podcast library. I downloaded them from another source. What I do not understand is why iTunes makes a difference between podcast mp3 files and music mp3 files. If I put my podcasts into a playlist and try to synchronise the playlist with iPhone, the files are not uploaded. Actually I do not see the playlist listed in the page "Music" of my device "iPhone".
    Any ideas?

  • Is it better to create ONE form, for 25 different forms?

    We have a Telco Application (in Forms 10g) which has about 200 Forms which are called from the main menu. Out of that 200 forms about *25* are "file upload" type forms (shown below).

    As you can see this is small form. The functionality is as follows:
    *(a.)* Select a text file (which has data in tabular format) from the client PC.
    When file is selected, it is also copied to a directory in the DB server machine. File Name will show the full path of the file in the client machine.
    *(b.)* When user presses Load button, form calls a stored packaged procedure. In that we create a EXTERNAL table mapped to the file in the db directory and read the contents to a temporary table in the DB.
    *(c.)* When user presses Process button, the temporary table is read and our Telco tables are updated using this data.
    *(d.)* You can view the error records and correct records discovered while processing, with the View File option. This will display 2 Oracle reports.
    *(e.)* You can delete the temporary table contents using the Delete Temporary option.
    This story goes like this: Our application is in Forms 10g. Now, we want to upgrade this application to 11g Forms. One problem we encountered was the FileUploader bean which we use in the above forms. This does not work in 11g. Solution was found in using WebUtil. Now, we have to modify all 25 Forms (obviously).
    Now here comes the real important part: Our Managers think that in the future also we might have to do upgrade to these 25 forms (due to future problems/upgrades with WebUtil and so on) and they want us to create ONE form for the 25 forms. So, in that ONE form,
    (a.) We have a list box at the top where uses selects which upload function he wants.
    (b.) Then, the file is selected (and transferred to the DB directory).
    (c.) Now when the users presses Load button, we have to execute the load packaged procedure for the selected load file option.
    (d.) When he presses Process button we have to run the program unit for the selected file upload function.
    (e.) When user presses the View File button, he has to show the correct records and invalid records (found after processing) in 2 reports. The reports differ from function to function.
    (f.) He can delete the records in the temporary table using Delete Temp button.
    Is this is good idea?? My initial study tells me that it is not a good idea since we have one form with too much functionality. What are pros and cons of this approach and what is the best solution??

    So the forms are completely different, and yet you are asked to stuff them all together into one form? What sense would that make? That's like pulling forms which are using text_io together just because when text_io is changed you simply would need to edit one form. Well of course you would have to. On the other hand there is a pile of code necessary to seperate the parts you glued together in the first place plus the effort of pulling all those forms together plus the effort of adding stuff to one "part" of the form.
    Also think about version control: you'd create more frequent conflicts in putting those forms together when different developers edit different parts of the form. Conflicts causes work as developers are forced to merge more often plus developers can make errors when merging their changes. Also the log of your version control system becomes quite useless as it always will be the xyz form which is changed. If you would want to know what did change you would have to read the log messages carefully of each revission (given the fact that developers wrote them carefully) or do diffs between revisions instead of...looking at what files changed.
    And all that just because the only thing they have in common is that they are using webutil?!? Do your managers keep their Blue Socks and their Blue Cars in the same drawer because they are blue?
    If the issue here is that you need to edit many forms and this might cause errors then you should take a look at the JDAPI, because this would be the tool to do changes in forms in batch. The forms migration assistant can also be configured to change one built-in into another, and you wouldn't have to write one line of java code. But stuffing forms together because they use the same built-ins...I'd say no, but of course this is just my opinioin ;)

    When you say API, u mean a PLL, right???Not only, by API I meant Application programming interface; this might be a package in a library, a whole pll file, a database package, a java class, or a combination of all those.

  • Want podcasts in Playlist to play one after the other

    Friends:
    I want to have all the podcasts in my playlist play one after the other. I read in some other post about creating an on-the-go playlist using the "enter" button.
    Can someone please explain what this means and how to do it? I'm a bit lost with just that information.

    Well...repeat will make the entire list play over and over. I understood that you wanted a list of podcasts where you could start the first one and have the list play through without stopping after each one.
    Oftentimes, people will put their podcasts into a playlist and can't figure out why the first one plays and then stops, not automatically continuing on to the next podcast. The default on iTunes will set podcasts to Skip When Shuffling. So, if a user has a tendency to use the Shuffle feature, then their playlist is going to show 1 of 1, play one podcast and then stop. To avoid this, you need to select the podcasts and deselect Skip When Shuffling. (And make sure that Shuffle is turned off.)
    Does that make sense?

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
    Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't normally lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
    In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
    Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
    See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
    When you get it all working make a backup!
    Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
    Would you mind telling me which anti-virus package you use? It may be that it is disturbing iTunes when it tries to write out the fresh database, as it does after almost any activity with your library. I'm noticing more of this type of problem than usual and trying to see if there is any pattern. It may help to prevent a repeat of the problem if you look at the advanced options for your AV package and see if you can find a way to exclude the main iTunes library folder (and subfolders if possible) from any real-time scanning process.

    I had already tried that one and got this...
    below is screen shot of what is on the new mac mini
    and what is on the external drive now connected to the new mac mini..
    There are no media files on the mac mini just the library files and on external just media files..
    Do I need to copy anything over from the old mac mini ? xml files ? .. the itunes folder on old mini is about 840mb in size which looks to have artwork ect ? .. I am fairly computer literate, but this one has me stumped.. ?

    As long as you computer is authorized for that iTunes account, the songs will work with iTunes Match. The user does not need to be logged in on that computer.
    Husband's computer and husband's iTunes account signed in.
    Songs from wife's iTunes account on computer and computer authorized for wife's account. Songs from both will work with iTunes Match.

    Another easy way to fix this.
    What I've noticed is that upon upgrading your projects and events to work with iMovie 10, initially it will work... Until you quit iMovie and reopen it again. Any events with hashtags will show up without the star next to the iMovie event. SO, if you happen to read this, after upgrading to iMovie 10 from its predecessor, immediately change the event name to NOT include a hashtag/pound symbol.
    Otherwise, if it's too late, you can either do the above or this...
    Hold down option and click on iMovie. This will prompt you Locate, Create a New Library, Cancel this window, or Choose a different library. What you want to do is create a new library, call it whatever you want to, this will only be temporary. After the program opens, it should be a blank Library. Then go to File > Open Library > iMovie Library (your original library) and proceed to change the name of your events. Quit the program. Go into your Movies folder in Finder, delete the library you temporarily created, and your back in business.

    If you create a new ID for her, she will no longer be able to share the apps that you purchased with your ID - unless she signs out out of her account on the iDevice and then signs back in with yours if she want to use or update those apps.

    i created an Adobe Form for the CRM activity type task.
    Now the user is able to print his task or to save it as PDF which is fine.
    But if a user has a list of tasks the requirement is to create one big pdf document where for each entry of the table the PDF task is attached.
    The interface of my ADOBE Form has as input parameter the CRMT_OBJECT_ID, which is one single task.
    Could one of you experts please provide me the steps to create one big document for a table of CRMT_OBJECT_IDs? If possible without changing the adobe form and the interface.

    but now I wonder if that is so relevant to your problem as I though before. You said it you created the form, so you can change it in any way. The blog explains where and how to change the part of the coding and form design,but since your form is not standard SAP, you don´t need mostof the explanations.
    Back to your question: In my opinion you cannot use the same form template to create a "big form". You need to embed all the data from interface into a single structure, use it as a row of a table, pass a table of the objects into the interface and enhance all the binding within the form. You also need to embed all your current form design in a subform for "table of data" and "one row", because all your form content means "we are fields of the single row of the table".
    Seems easy for me, but I am afraid it is not that easy to describe it and I don´t know anything about your prior Adobe forms experience.
