Podcast / Vodcast combo possible with XML?

I don't seem to be having any luck generating a good feed when I added a video podcast ("vodcast") to my feed. Is having both the mp3 and m4v formats in one XML file not allowed? Maybe I messsed up the coding somewhere?

The links to the files are dead. Either the URL is incorrect, the file has been removed or the filename is incorrect.

[Table access] RFC with XML

Hi everyone,
The idea is to be able to read/write a table in the backend system (would it be R/3 or BW) from the Visual Composer.
In a first attempt, I managed to do it by creating 2 RFCs: one for reading the table, another for modifying it. It works quite well.
Problem
1) Let's say I want to do it for a large number of tables: Do I have to build as much RFCs as there are tables ?
In other words: Is there a way to do it generically ?
-> I did it in BSP but it is much simple since we can use reference (TYPE REF TO DATA)
Bad idea
1) Concatenate all fields in a string
-> Read: a lot of actions have to be performed to display the string in the tableview
-> Write: ok as long as there is only string fields but as soon as there is something else, it a nightmare
Good Idea ?
1) Let's use XML to wrap fields up. It will be quick and easy by using CALL TRANSFORMATION on the backend
Question: How do we transform our XML to fit into the VC tableview ?

Hi Guillaume,
I had the same problem a few months ago. There is no way to use a generic structure in VC. A workaround was my solution. I added a structure in SE11 with several strings. Each string for a column with values. This is not the best solution, but another isn't possible atm.
XML is an alternative, but I never read something about using it in VC with tables. I think there is also the problem with the generic structure. At designtime VC doesn't know the structure of the XML file. When you use queries you can use define/test data service -> execute -> generate for each model.
If somebody knows, if it is possible with XML, please give us a hint. I hope Mario will read this thread.

A CLOB can store much more than this, so it's necessary to buffer the output as shown in +{message:id=4497571}+

Is this possible with Boxes?

Hi,
I am currently using a Horizontal Box to group a JLabel, 3 JTextFields and a JButton in a row. (it is a date entry field, with a pop-up calendar that is activated by the button.)
It looks exactly how I want it, EXCEPT that I need to make an exact replica of those objects, so the top fields will be used as a date search function FROM X date and the bottom fields will be the TO X date.
However, I cannot find a way to move the "search TO date" fields one line down or below the "search FROM date" fields.
Is this possible? Because right now my GUI looks rather silly with 10 objects horizontally spanning my screen.

PDF form with XML data connection comes up blank at run time

Hello All,
I am a newbie to ADOBE Livecycle 9, but am very proficient in C#. I would like to request for your guidance on the following issue.
We have a desktop application in C#, WPF, Sqlserver. The requirement is to launch a Livecycle form from the application for the user to read/edit/save data
I have done this much so far -
Downloaded trial version of Livecycle 9
Developed a interactive PDf form
Created an XML based data connection. Generated fields on the form using the fields from this connection.
Set the .XML file as preview source for the form
the controls on the form are boumd to the xml data source
In design mode, the form works fine, it displays my data correctly
I have created a WPF form with a button. On click of this button, I call the Process.Start(pdf-file-path). My pdf is launched properly
I have added a combo box to my WPF form. I select a parameter from this, then call a stored procedure which returns me a datatable depending on parameter passed
Using the returned datatable, I have used the datatable.writexml and datatable.writexmlschema to create my XML and XSD files. as mentioned above, this xsd is used to create the data connection for the PDF and the XML for the preview source
This is what I want to do -
Launch the PDF from my WPF form, pre-populated with the newly created XML data from my WPF form.
So basically, as the user changes the selection criteria from the combo box, the XML file data will change and the PDF file will be launched each time with new data.
The XSD format will always be constant
Problem -
My XML and XSD get created properly, my PDF launches, but it is empty
If I change my selection criteria and run the WPF application, and then open the PDF in design mode, it asks me whether it should refresh the XML source. This means that the PDF form is connecting correctly to the XML source
So why then, does the form come up empty at run time?
What link am I missing?
I have found some sites that help using Web applications, but nothing for desktop applications. It would be fantastic if you could point me to some help for developing Livecycle forms with C# / SQLServer

Oops, something happended with the above post. I will try again... I have tried your suggestion but I still get the same garbled XML (with data repeated and some values "cut in half". Here is what I get after decode-service and extract-to-XML-service. This is just the first barcode, the others are similar, sorry for the poor formatting, but I get a CDATA tage infront of the "istensen" value. I have tried using a custom .NET component (ClearImage) for reading the same form (with the barcode) I get the correct data out from the barcodes. Mapping with xml-schema XML-data to relational tables

Hello,
is it possible to map data from xml documents to relational tables with xml-schema?
I mean not in nested tables but in relational tables with primary and foreign keys!
With SQL Server 2005 it is very easy, I dont believe that Oracle couldn't do this!

indeed, oracle does this for xml schema based xmltype data, however, these underlying tables are not accessable to the application. Maybe It should for next version, so folks who like to use relational model can use it without mapping it manually.
Actually, nested tables, are the same, their underlying tables (segments) are indeed relational tables, oracle manages them internally and not visiable to the application. You can find them in the user_segments, user_objects views though.

Oracle Reports with XML output showing data as asterik character

Hello,
I'm trying to create an Oracle report with xml output. Here is the issue I'm having some of the columns in my report are of datatype number. When I run the report and generate xml file the values for those columns(datatype number) are showing as (*) character, other columns are showing fine. But when I run the report as text output then data is fine. I don't understand why this is happening.
The property of column is Column Type - Database Scalar, Datatype - Number , width 0,-127.
Does the width has to do anything with this?
I'm using Report Builder 6.0.8.11.3, DB version 10g.

Populating dynamic values in the combobox with XML form Builder.

I am trying to populate dynamic value in the combobox with xml form builder. I see the document saying create property group and document property Id with respecitive values. I am able to create the property group with system admin -> System config
-> KM -> CM -> Global services -> property Metadata -> groups with new button. and I am trying to create document property Id with value. I am not able to find the way to give value in the property. I am using EP 7.0 Sp 14. Please let me know how to sovel it

You can create new property metadata with System Admin > System Config > KM > CM > Global services > Property Metadata > Properties > New. Specify the values for this metadata as the ones you need to have in the combo box. Use allowed values parameter of the matadata to sepcify the values. Each metadata property will have unique property ID and you can map this property ID to your combo box in xml forms.
Give it a try.

I would start as simple as possible, for example with
something like

There's no real rule-of-thumb whether to use elements or

The problem doesn't lie with your feed, although it does contain an error - you have given a non-existent sub-category. You need to stick to the categories and sub-categories listed here:

Subscribing to your feed from the iTunes Store page work as such, but the episodes throw up an error message. The problem lies with your episode media files: you are trying to stream them. Pasting the URL into a browser produces a download (where it should play the file) of a small file which does not play and in fact is a text file containing (in the case of ep.2) this:

You must provide a direct link to the actual mp3 file. Streaming won't work. The test is that if you paste the URL of the media file (as given in the feed) into the address bar of a browser it should play the file.

Help with XML - AS 3.0

Hello everybody. I decided to start working with XML since it allows me to load assets externally and edit my applications later very easily without having to edit the fla file itself. So today I watched and read a few tutorials and now I'm trying to build an Event Scroll, all through XML and AS 3.0 code. Basically what I want is to have several events inside a movieclip which I will incorporate into a scroll pane when I'm done, for now I'll focus on extracting data from the XML file and parsing it with AS 3.0. The layout is simple: a thumbnail image on the left, and beside it on the right there is the title of the event, its date and some info about it and all of these should have a dark grey background while the text is in white. Each two events are 30 pixels apart and there are 5 events for now.

oh I've just noticed one little problem, in my info field, the text doesn't break and start a new line, it just keeps going horizontally although I've set it to multiline and gave it a width and height... so what shall I do to fix this problem? here's the code:

Issue with XML encoding

Hi,
I am querying an SAP instance for data, and I am getting back the data in an XML document...to which I need apply XSL transformation.
The instance is an German one... so I am getting a few strange characters because of which, the parser is uanble to apply the transformation.
I wrote a small java program to get more info on this particular character causing the problem, it turns out to be an ISOControl character. The properties (got by using the Character class API) are as below.
1. Character 1:
The getDirectionality is:0
The getNumericValue is:21
The getType is:2
The isDefined is:true
The isISOControl is:false
The isMirrored is:false
The isSpaceChar is:false
The isUnicodeIdentifierPart is:true
The isUnicodeIdentifierStart is:true
The isWhitespace is:false
2. character 2:

The getNumericValue is:-1
The getType is:15
The isDefined is:true

These characters appear to be white space in normal text editors...

I have tried to use "UTF-8", "ISO-8859-1" and other encodings, but in vain. Appreciate any pointers on this...

How to fill combo box with list of all SQL server

Ok, I know how to find all SQL servers that I need, I have code for that task, and I have Array of all servers.
My problem is ...
I made setup project and do a huge work, and in the end this task appear!
I used ORCA tool to change TextBox (A) template in visual studio (2008 by the way), and I transform first TextBox to ComboBox.
Now, the little part that I'am missing is how to fill this combo box with a result of my function for listin SQL servers?
Can I somehow send combobox object to myMethod:

or

Hi Valerij,
The ComboBox control in an MSI dialog uses the ComboBox table to populate the items in it. To get what you want, you need to update the ComboBox table in the MSI package with your application and run the MSI package. The following KB article describes how to dynamically populate a ListBox control in Windows Installer:

This method introduced in the above KB article also applies to populating a ComboBox control in Windows Installer.
I don't think it's possible to run the application as a Custom Action from within the MSI package because the application will modify the content of the MSI package which is currently running. So you need to launch the MSI package from within your application after updating the ComboBox table. In short, when installing, just run your application which updates the ComboBox table and install the MSI package.

Generating layout with xml

I want to make a graphical user interface with xml.
Is that possible?
For example:

</JMenu>
</JMenubar>
I automatically want to create these menu.
But this xml could be more extended, and then the layout must also made automatically.
The problem is, that you don't know how many JMenu's en JMenuItems there are.
Anyone has an idea how to work with this?

One way to do this is just to use XMLEncode & XMLDecode, so a nice example for you, to run this, first
java Test -c test.xml
It will ask some questions, fill 'em in.
then
java Test -l test.xml
and it'll create a frame based on the XML file created by step one.

I would like to send an HTTP Request with an XML File in the body to an SAP System
I have the target URL and the a XML File.
Now the question is. Is it possible to use something like the HTTP_POST FuBa to send an url post request with an xml file?
If yes can anybody give me a hint?
I have a php script which exactly do this coding. But to integrate it all in one system it is necessary to transform it into ABAP and call it there.
