Pointbase database using java procedure in trigger

Hi,
I use Sun Creator to create my Single.war archive.
\src\db contains package db;
In it is public class braincreate;
Inside of braincreate is public void triggerInsert1 (aa,bb);
\src\single contains package single;
In it is public class Page1;
Inside of Page1 is code to create and execute Pointbase Trigger. The Trigger calls stored procedure triggerInsertxx, which in turn executes CALL which has \"db.braincreate::triggerInsert1\" declaration.
All other issues, including connection, settings and so on are resolved. When ran in debug mode the following error is raised:
"The external \"db.braincreate::triggerInsert1\" routine had the following runtime exception \"java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: db.braincreate\""
I also tried to put the method to class Page1, but it still did not work. I tried to change CLASSPATH to point to compiled Single.war, but it still did not work.
Question:
How to set the code so triggerInsert1 is found and executed? Maybe I need to put .war file or package in some specific place?
I tried to rename Single.war to Single.jar and put it in ...\Creator2ea\...java\lib\ext (does anybody know if it makes sense?), but it did not work.

  • Call RFC  using java procedure

    Hi
    How can I to use java procedure and call RFC for to access tables of SAP ?
    Thank You

    RFC? That term in the IT environment usually means "+Request For Comments+" and refers to Internet protocol and usage standards.
    Do you perhaps means RPC (Remote Process/Procedure Calls)? Or something else?
    Also, SAP is a company. Not a product. SAP has a product called R3. This runs inside a database.
    Connecting from Java to a database typically requires nothing more than a JDBC driver. So why can't you use a JDBC driver and need to call the database (and access tables) using another method?

    Here is a basic benchmark that illustrates the difference between maximising SQL, or doing it in PL/SQL instead.
    Care needs to be taken with such a benchmark in order for physical I/O not to negatively impact a test, and then have no impact in the second test as that data read from disk now sits in the cache.
    So I ran it a couple of times in order to "warm up" the cache. I also put the maximise-SQL test first in order to show that it is still faster, despite any physical I/O it may do (which will likely be faster logical I/O with the second test).
    Run on Oracle XE 10.2.0.1.

    The cursor-fetch-loop is almost 3 times slower. The more rows there are to process, the slower the cursor-fetch-loop will become, as it will create more and more context switching and copying data between the SQL and PL engines and back.

  • How to restore a mysql dump file to database using java

    hai friends,
    i'm developing an application. in that i need to back up and restore the database. i'm using mysql.
    in that i used a code to back up the db.. its working perfectly and the dump file is created perfectly..
    but while trying to restore the dump file nothing is happening...
    can anyone provide me a sample code to restore the dump to database using java code...
    thanks in advance...

    The first, biggest mistake you made in the code is that you didn't read standard output and error from the process, and/or you're ignoring exceptions. Because if you did, you would have read error messages that would have given you a clue what's wrong. (either that, or you ignored the clues, or didn't understand them and failed to tell us what the error messages are)
    The second mistake is that you invoked exec with the call that takes a single string, when that string includes whitespace not used as delimiters.
    The third mistake was that you used a terrible subject line for your post. Your problem is that you're having trouble with Runtime.exec. The fact that it's about mysql isn't relevent.
    The fourth mistake is that you didn't mention Runtime.exec at all until pushed. You should provide these details. When you try to self-diagnose something that you don't understand, and then hide information, you're just wasting everybody's time, including your won.
    The fifth mistake is that you're using poor spelling.
    The sixth mistake is that you still haven't said why you're doing this in Java.

    I asked a similar question once and the answer I got was - Don't.
    Instead, store the images on a drive somewhere and store the path in the database.
    But I'm no expert - that's just what I was told by someone who does this kind of stuff a lot.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can I create Oracle Database using Java ???

    HI ...
    Can I create a Database using Java... ? If yes can any one tell me how ? I mean provide some codeing help... ???

    If you mean a table yes, since the create table statement is exactly that, an SQL statement, if you mean an SID then I would have to say (AFAIK) no.

  • How do you query Oracle RDF database using Java program?

    Does anyone know how to get data out of the oracle RDF database using Java?
    I'm running the following java code and it returns basically null values. My guess is that the get_triple() function returns a dataset other than resultset. I've tried searching the Oracle web site. Am I supposed to be using CLOB object? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    sql = "SELECT a.triple.GET_TRIPLE() AS triple FROM family_rdf_data a";
    ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery( sql ) ;
    while ( rs.next() )
    System.out.println( rs.getString(1) ) ;
    rs.close() ;

    get_triple() returns an object, and the code would be different from the code of retrieving a string. Some sample code for retrieving objects is at http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/files/advanced/advanced.html
    get_subject(), get_property() return strings so the code below should work. get_object() returns a CLOB so different handling would be required and there is some sample code at the link above.

    How to set the system DSN for Access database using Java Code at runtime....???
    Replies are deeply appreciated...

    I found a 3rd Party MS Access JDBC Driver from a Google search. I downloaded and tried the free trial version. It worked fine but we opted not to purchase the full version and went a different route. If you don't find it, let me know and I'll see if I can track down the name of the product we tested.

  • How to pass xml data as objects into Database using store procedures

    Hi All,
         I don't have much knowledge on store procedure,can anybody help how to pass the xml as objects in Database using store procedure.
    My Requirement is I have a table with three fields EMPLOYEE is table name and the fields are EMP_ID,EMP_TYPE AND EMP_DET,I have to insert the employees xml data into corresponding fields in the table.
    Input Data
    <ROWSET>
       <ROW>
         <EMP_ID>7000</EMP_ID>
          <EMP_TYPE>TYPE1</EMP_TYPE>
         <EMP_DET>DEP</EMP_DET>
      <ROW>
      <ROW>
         <EMP_ID>7000</EMP_ID>
         <EMP_TYPE>TYPE2</EMP_TYPE>
        <EMP_DET>DEP2</EMP_DET>
    <ROW>
    <ROW>
         <EMP_ID>7000</EMP_ID>
         <EMP_TYPE>TYPE3</EMP_TYPE>
        <EMP_DET>DEP3</EMP_DET>
    <ROW>
    <ROWSET>
    So each row values has to inserted into resp fields in the table.

    Do you have a similar structure in your stored procedure ?
    In that case you can simply call the procedure from soa using db adapter and do a mapping to assign the values.

    hi ! i am working on database project i want to create a database using java frame or applet where it asks user to select the location for database to be created , after user have specified the path then the programs creates the database, again i want that database to be read and write by another frame or applet but as user select the path how do i make the connectivity. i just have basic knowledge on java. please give me idea how can i process further.
    thanks a lot

    While duffymo is correct in regard to most major database products, it's my understanding (warning! wild-ass guess coming) that the Hypersonic DB is more "application-centric" and the dynamic creation of databases is part of its design. It's pure Java database software, and therefore is not appropriate for all database projects, in particular those that require extremely high-performance.
    See http://hsqldb.org/
    I've not used it yet (but soon though), and I can't really advise anyone about it.
    However, I'm wondering if you phrased you question in a way that is confusing us. To most of us in casual conversation, a "database" is both (1) a large organized collection of data and (2) the software that is used to organize and access it. However, the phrase "create a database" usually means creating a (1) database (a collection of data) using an already created (2) database software, such as Oracle, MySQL, DB2, HSQDB, etc., etc. If you'r question is, how do a create some new database software using Java, the answer is that this is a very very big and hard thing to do for the general case and probably not something you want to be doing.

  • Possible deadlocks with in-memory database using Java

    I've written a completely in-memory database using the Java API on BDB 4.6 and 4.7 for Windows and Linux (x86). The completely in-memory database means the database content and logs are entirely in-memory and the overflow pages will not be written to a disk file.
    The database environment and the database are configured to be transactional. All database access methods are specified to be auto-commit by setting the transaction argument to null. The environment is configured to be multi-threaded (which is the default when using the Java API).
    When run with a single-threaded client, the application works correctly on both Windows and Linux for BDB 4.6 and 4.7.
    When run with a multi-thread client that uses two thread for the database access, I run into a deadlock inside the call to the Database.delete method about half the time.
    I am assuming that in the "auto-commit" mode, a deadlock should not be possible.
    Any reported problems with using Java with in-memory database?
    Thanks.
    Hisur

    Hi Hisur,
    If you are using transactions and multiple threads, you will have to deal with deadlock. In this particular case, it's likely that a delete is causing two btree pages to be merged (called a "reverse split"). Auto-commit makes no difference in this case -- the application must retry the operation.

  • Inserting a record in database using Java

    Hello All,
    i have connected a Java Application to the SAP BO Database using DI API and would like to insert a record in the demo database without using an SQL Query "Insert into table1...." but using the following snippet though i dont know if am using the right classes :
                                    ICompany company = conn.getCompany();
                                     IItems items = SBOCOMUtil.newItems(company);
                        items.setItemCode("124");
                        items.setItemName("VXC");
                        items.setItemsGroupCode(1);
                        items.setItemType(0);
                        items.add();
    What i am trying to do here is insert a new record but i dont know where i should mention the table name for e.g. there is table called OITM in the demo database from BO where i would like to create a new Item.
    Could anyone help me here.
    Regards,
    Amit Hingher

    Hi Amit,
    You don't need to reference the destination tables as there is a class for each data object in the DI API and the data tables associated with the object are hardcoded in the class.
    The Items class is the correct one for adding item master data (ie data in OITM, OITW etc).
    I'm not very familiar with these Java objects but I think the add method should return an integer value (as it does with the COM objects used by .NET). If the return value is zero then the add was successful. If the add failed then you'll get a non-zero value which is the SBO error code.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen
