How to create sql database using java frame or appelet?

hi ! i am working on database project i want to create a database using java frame or applet where it asks user to select the location for database to be created , after user have specified the path then the programs creates the database, again i want that database to be read and write by another frame or applet but as user select the path how do i make the connectivity. i just have basic knowledge on java. please give me idea how can i process further.

It's pure Java database software, and therefore is not appropriate for all database projects, in particular those that require extremely high-performance.

However, the phrase "create a database" usually means creating a (1) database (a collection of data) using an already created (2) database software, such as Oracle, MySQL, DB2, HSQDB, etc., etc. If you'r question is, how do a create some new database software using Java, the answer is that this is a very very big and hard thing to do for the general case and probably not something you want to be doing.

If you mean a table yes, since the create table statement is exactly that, an SQL statement, if you mean an SID then I would have to say (AFAIK) no.

You are essentially asking how to write an IDE (Integrated Development Environment). This is a big question. You might start by looking at existing IDE's (JBuilder, Forte...) and see how they do it. If you want source, there is probably an open source IDE you can lift most of your code from.

Is there a way to create SQL Databases (not just tables) from inside LabVIEW??? This sould be fairly easy...

All I know is what is in the SQL Server help file. There is the SQL command "CREATE DATABASE". An example is:

You have to have the correct permissions in order to do this and the server itself has to exist. I'm assuming that you already have the Database Connectivity Toolkit, LabSQL (http://www.jeffreytravis.com/lost/labsql.html), or are using your own ADO routines.

Of course the documentation assumes you've completed the first five minutes of Computer Admin 101 and so realize you should include the directory that has the executabale file. In this case, your PATH should include $ORACLE_HOME/bin
So, what have you tried? What result did you get?
And why are you citing a reference for a old, unsupported version of Oracle?
And why the reference to SQL Developer in your subject line? This has nothing to do with SQL Developer.

Generating next number from the SQL database using java

Hi friends, I have a problem and need your help. I am working on a project about submitting claims form through the adobe PDF file and SQL database. I have problem working on a web service (written in java) that will generate the next Invoice Number from the SQL Database table. The field type for the column is text(var char). *Example: I first need to get into the table and search for the last Invoice number in the table and if the last invoice number in the table from the database is 3, i would want to generate the next number which is 4 and filled it up in the PDF file through web service that i am implementing. Can you all provide me some guidelines on how to implement this method in my web service?

Suggested method to get the max value in the column is NOT secure, unless you lock the entire table for update before you do so, which is a severe performance penalty.

Labview configuration files are very easy to use and can hold any type of information you wish. There are functions in the File palette ready to use for configuration files. A configuration file is similar to a registry entry. You can have sections and keys. So you can create a section called "Data1" and keys called "Name", "Age", etc. Create the same for a new section called "Data2", and so on. The functions are useful for writing the config file and reading from the file. To read a certain piece of data, just supply the section name and the key name. So you could ask for section "Data20", key "Name", and you would get the 20th name in the database (config file). This way you don't have to write code to search the database for certain items, the functions do it for you and they are already written. Look into config files. They are very easy to use, very useful, and very underused even by the most experienced LV programmer.
