Pointers required in BW Reporting -

I need some help in setting up some unique requirements of my client.
1. How do I have exception color coding for a characteristic. I have the following - risk number ( KF ) and I need to show 1- "ATTN" / 2- "Normal" / 3- "HIGH" based on the risk value with color coding of red , yellow and Green. I understand I can have exception color coding for the risk number but how do I acheive this?
2. I have a requirement to have a RRI jump on single click. I did find an onclick provision in the web template - but is there any api for using the onclick functionality through javascript.
3. One more requirement is to have comments displayed in the template . my options are :
a. use an ABAP report
b. somehow show it in BW web template - the scenario is that the user( project manager) will give comments on project overruns and that has to be displayed on the template for everyone else to see - the size of the comment is restricted to 255 characters and stored in a table in R/3. How do i handle this?

Thanks for the reply but...
1. Exception reporting is for a KF and I have to highlight a Characteristic - This topic was also discussed earlier but am unable to find the thread.
2. If you select view source for a web template - you will have each value with a onclick=; which means that there is an API available for the same - I am trying to find the same. I can do it with crystal reports but it would involve changes to the setup we have with respect to EP Integration etc.
3. A dummy characteristic can accept only 60 characters , I have to show atleast 255 characters - and as of now the only available solution seems to be ABAP - any ideas on how to do it through BW - one option I read about was :
1. Split it into pieces of 60 each and then concatenate them in the cell definition in the table modify class - but this will not work if we are to have drilldowns - and with regard to using documents - the client does not want to click and get the data - h/she wants to see it on screen. Also how do I show documents for all values rather than only at the header level ?
2. Change the translation length or something like that to allow for 132 characters - but was unable to find the same.
Any other options ?

Dynamic Columns requirement in a report
Hi,
I have a requirement in my report:
Report takes Month &Year presentation Variable as a input and result should be dynamic 11 past months as columns in my report.
Eg: If i select September 2011, Report should have 11 coumns which should start from August 2010 till September 2011
If i select August 2011, Report should have 11 coumns which should start from July 2010 till August 2011
Please suggest the optimized way to acheive this result.

RahulThis is more simpler...think logically. Suppose, you take current month-yr i.e. Sept 2011, then you want to show data from Aug 10 - Sept 11.
Simply follow these:
- Create a simple report say 'Mid Report' with 2 columns. Change the fx to give something like 1109 for Sept-11 and 1008 for Aug-10
- This will give you 1 record with 2 values 1008 & 1109
- In your main report creata a similar FX for Year-Month and put a filter based on other report. One less than eqaul to 1109 and One more than or equal to 1008. This will give you results for:
1008
1009
1010
1011
1012
1101
1102
1103
1104
1105
1106
1107
1108
1109
This can be utilized to get any trend report -
Required application context reporting is not available
I've just installed HPM 11.1.1.1 (product: ESSBASE/foundation/planning/Financial reporting) and I'm now testing Financial Reporting.
I created a financial report as indicated in http://oraclebizint.wordpress.com/2008/06/07/hyperion-financial-reporting-getting-started
I can run this report in Financial reports (PDF view)
1. But I cannot run the report in HTML (Hyperion Workspace) : error "Required application context reporting is not available"
2. Besides I notice that in Workspace -> explorer the voice File -> Import -> "Financial Reports" is missing.
Maybe something was wrong in installation, but I did it twice .... and Diagnositcs reports no errors.
So, is there some more activity to be done on Workspace/Financial reports so that integration of these two products work correctly ??
(Note: installing on Microsoft windows 2003 server - deploying on Tomcat and IIS6 web server)

MarinaThis one has frustrated me to no end as well! One would think that when you install FR/WA they would automatically register themselves with Workspace as part of their configuration process (and one would be wrong).
The solution is to go back and run the configuration tool again. The only thing you have to select this time is Foundation Services... Workspace... Configure Web Server, then restart the two Workspace services. -

I did the 9.3.1 REPORTING ANANLYSIS installation and then applied 9.3.3 patches,
when i am trying to use reports in workspace it is throwing the below error:
Required application module reporting.HRRunDlg is not configured. Please contact your administrator.
I tried restaring and rebooting ,killing java.exe services, still it givng the error, it is bit urgent,

If neither work - then check the FR logs
If 8200 works and not 19000 you might try reconfiguring your web server using the config utility. And check the web server configuration.

Plz help me i need it very urgently....I always put code in the when-validate-RECORD trigger to ensure fields are entered, rather than setting the property. That way, the user can enter other fields within the record, and then gets a message that the field is required only when leaving the record.
...of course, if the date item is the only field in the block, then the when-validate triggers will not run unless the user at least types a space in the date. In that case, you need to check in the key-commit trigger. -

As per query, if you want to display sums automatically when you report is displayed for the first time, you'll have to modify your field catalog a bit.
To acheive this, you need to identify the field for which the totals are calculated ex- for every new material num, or for every new documnet number etc.
once you have this info, you identify the field that has to be totaled.
then while building your fieldcatalog, set this parameter :
l_wa_fieldcat-do_sum = 'X' for the field that has to be totaled.
and when you build a sort table then set this parameter:
l_t_sort TYPE slis_t_sortinfo_alv.
l_s_sort-subtot = 'X'. for the field for which totals are calculated.

To migrate your essential documents subsequent to erasing and reinstalling Mavericks read: OS X: How to migrate data from another Mac using Mavericks and follow the procedure under Time Machine or other disk migration.
When doing so, select only your previous User account and do not select "Applications", "Computer and Network Settings" or "Other files and folders". De-select those choices. Subsequent to using Setup Assistant, you will need to reinstall the essential software you may require, once again remembering to install software only from their original sources, and omitting all non-essential software. -

But I want to show like below. i.e the value for current month is a cumulation(sum) of values of all the previous periods. And I cant use multiple key restricted keyfigures here. I can use only one keyfigure and it has to be only in one column as I am using this in visual composer.

Hi.. I m developing an APO object for the first time. It's a Report.
Please explain me the logic... it's an APO development.
First answer a few questions of mine, before getting into the logic.
1. how do we fetch data from APO database? Using normal SELECT query, or.. ?? Please give an example.
2. what does " Characteristic ZTIL for MPOS ZB_TRL STRUCTURE: /BIC/VZB_TRL2 " mean?? It's given in the Source System Table column of Func. Spec., from where I have to Select the field ZTIL.
3. Can u give me a comparison of normal R/3 dbase, and the APO database? And, in what fashion the data is stored.
4. Please give me useful links that will help me in APO development.
To explain you a bit about the Data Element Cross Reference section of the report..
There are 2 tables given for each field, one related to RL and other related to TC planning area, except those fields whose Source Table is " Characteristic ZTIL for MPOS ZB_TRL STRUCTURE: /BIC/VZB_TRL2 ". So, the Data Element Cross Reference section is a combination of fields that come from 2 tables each & and fields that come from " Characteristic ZTIL for MPOS ZB_TRL STRUCTURE: /BIC/VZB_TRL2 ".
Q: Can u tell me why 2 tables are given for a single field?
Q: How do we work with a single field from 2 tables?
Now, coming to the logic of the development..
Logic required wherein IDENTICAL Material numbers in both RL / TC planning areas are flagged as exceptions.
The logic has to be written for a field, which comes from two source tables. In the output of the report, this field should show 'RL' if it comes from the table related to RL planning area, and should show 'TC', if it comes from the TC planning area table. Now, we have MATNR in " Characteristic ZMT for MPOS ZB_TRL STRUCTURE: /BIC/VZB_TRL2 ". So, what logic should be applied so that it shows identical MATNRs in RL and TC rows, in output??

The functional Consultant is saying that MPOS is not a table, also, the terms which I had referred to as TABLES in my post, are not tables, it seems. These are Live Cache data, he says.
Do you have any idea what Live Cache is, and how to deal with it(access data from it)?
When I searched for Live Cache access related info today. I found out that, to read data from Live Cache, you need to use SAP delivered Standard BAPIs. Please share some knowledge about it.
