you can use more than one table in smartform for that first you mention all the tables in the form interfaces and you have to mention the variables that you want to caliculate in the global definitions.
For caliculation right click on ant text and in that we have flow logic option in that we can select which type of code you want to write and you have to create those inbetween two text fields where the values are there and the other one is where you want to display the result.
in that code in input parameters we have to mention the variables which you want to use for caliculation and in output parameters mention the variables in which you want to store the result. And then we have to write the logic what ever we want.

You can write a custom SQL query and map it to an object as needed. You can also use the Toplink query language "anyOf" or "get" commands to map two tables as long as you map them as one to one (get command) or one to many (anyOf command) in the toplink mapping workbench.

WHERE clause creating a join for two or more tables

The CS3 Dreamweaver book says that the WHERE clause can
create a join for two or more tables. The join was created, but the
data is repeating. I have searched the web and this forum and have
not found the answer.
My Master page filters the recordset by Style No and when a
customer clicks on a particular style, it sends him to the Detail
page. All the records are showing from all tables on the detail
page from the Dynamic List, except they are showing multiple times
(ex. Size table has 4 sizes and Color table has 2 colors - my Size
Drop Down list is showing 8 options and my Color Drop Down List is
showing 8 options) I have a Master Page with a recordset pointing
to a Detail Page using the same recordset.
Master page works perfectly.
Master Recordset SQL:
SELECT products.itemID, products.category, products.styleno,
products.name, products.description, products.ourprice,
products.imageTH, products.image, coloroption.color,
sizeoption.size
FROM products, coloroption, sizeoption
WHERE category = 'chefcoats' AND
products.styleno=sizeoption.styleno AND
products.styleno=coloroption.styleno
GROUP BY products.styleno

The Detail Recordset:

I tried using the GROUP BY on the detail page, but then it
only showed one size and color from the dynamic drop down list. I
tried changing the field name "styleno" in the other tables to be
unique, however, I was using the table identifer. I tried using the
JOIN command instead of the WHERE clause and that didn't help
either.
On the detail page, the customer is supposed to click on the
Size box and see sizes XSM - 6XL ONLY ONE TIME. and then be able to
click on the Color option and see White, Black, Red ONE TIME.
Is this possible?

Synchronizing Two Custom Z Tables Using Abap Program

    My requirement is Synchronizing two custom z tables using abap program me.
I have vendors in two tables, i have to select the common vendors from first which are existing in second table also.
In first table each vendor can have more than one supplier types in one field only. In second table these supplier types are divided into
different fields.
     My requirement is I have to check supplier types in first table and i have to pass X to corresponding supplier types in second table vendor.
I have to pass X value for each depending in Second table depending upon supplier type in first table.
. How to do it can any one suggest with code.

Hi,
Imho, you need to get (meaning, extract into separate fields) the different supplier types from Table1 first. Your key for Table1 is the vendor no, which is also the key in Table2 (or the key for Table2 is Vendor no & Type).
For better performance, better select multiple/all required entries from Table1 instead of doing a select endselect.
Depending on the format of the vendortypes in Table1, put them in a new itab (for our purpose named Table1New where vendor no & type are the only 2 fields. For example, if the type length is fixed to 2 chars, or divided by space,... use your coding accordingly.
Next step is to select all vendor no's in Table2 which you have selected in Table1. If in Table2, the vendor no is the only key (and the all vendor types are filled in a single record), then loop check the vendor types from Table1New against the types in Table2.
If the key of Table2 is vendor no & vendor type, then do a read table for the key.
The logic in pseudo-code:
Select from Table1 into table. If you'd like to limit the selection size, add package size statement.
     extract the vendor types in to itab Table1New.
     Select the vendor & types from Table2 by using the for all entries option (better performance).
     loop at Table1New
          check in Table2:
               if the unique key is vendor no: check all fields for the vendor type from Table1New
               if the unique key combo is vendor no & type: check by using a read table.
          If not found => add entry to Table2
     endloop.
endselect Table1 (when using package size)
I guess the most difficult step is to extract the types from Table1 into separate fields, all the rest seems straight forward. Please keep in mind the itab type definitions for a better performance.

Quering MySql DB tables using DB adapter in Oracle SOA

Hi',
I am trying to query MySql DB tables using DB adapter in Oracle SOA.
inside the weblogic server console I have created a data source and test is "success" MySql
Now inside the deployments > DBAdapter > Configuration > outbound connection pools
I am new outbound connection, however I only get one option by default "javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory".
which is default pointing to oracle DB.
If someone has implemented this earlier or some blog/document demonstrates this please let me know.

actually I tried changing the "platformClassName" to "oracle.toplink.platform.database.MySQL4Platform" in the existing connection factory.
I am able to update the DBAdapter successfully, however when I try to run the service created in JDEV which uses this MySql DB table it gives me below error.
I also have another doubt regarding "How can we create a new connection factory in weblogic console?"

I need to insert multiple rows into a database table using the JDBC adapter (receiver).
I understand the traditional way of repeating the statement multiple times, each having its <access> element. However, I am just wondering whether this might be performance-inefficient, as it might insert records one by one.
Is there a way to ensure that the records are inserted into the table as a block, rather than record-by-record?

If we have multiple ACCESS tags then what happens is that the connection to the database is made only once. But the data is inserted row by row.
Why i am saying this?
If we add the following in JDBC Adapter..logSQLStatement = true. Then incase of multiple inserts we can see that there are multiple
<i>Insert into tablename(EMP_NAME,EMP_ID) VALUES('J','1000')
Insert into tablename(EMP_NAME,EMP_ID) VALUES('J','2000')</i>
Doesnt this mean that rows are inserted one by one?
Correct me if i am wrong.
This does not mean that the transaction is not guaranted. Either all the rows will be inserted or rolled back.

How does one simultaneously view two or more tables?

When viewing a table, a tab is created. How does one create a second tab with which to view a second table?
A related question - how does one enter and run two or more SQL statements to be viewed side-by-side (as in the above example with straight tables)?

1) For table click the thumb tack an pin it. Then the next one will open in a new window.
2) When you have 2 worksheets open drag the title bar to be on the left/right/top/bottom of that section. Then you'll have side-by-side worksheets.

Two or more table based forms on a single page

Is it possible to have two or more forms fetching their respective tables on the same page ? I mean , to have two Automated fetching processes . I tried to change each page item source from ('DB Column' ... column_name) into ('DB Column' ... "TABLE".column_name) but is not working.

Actually I am trying to give you a solution but not 100% sure what you exactly you want?
According to your subject, i understood that you have a page based on two more tables so if it is then
create a view on these tables and create a page on view and then create a trigger (Instead of triggers)
for insert /update into the columns related tables.

Multiple messages enqueuing into one table using Database Adapter

I am trying to fetch records from one table and insert into another table in the same database using two DB adapters each for one function.When trying for one record,it is working fine.But for more than one records using for-each loop I am unable to insert the records into the table.Can anyone suggest any solution.
For DB Adapter 1 and 2 I am selecting "Perform an operation on a Table".
Options being selected in case of both adapters:-
DB Adapter1-'select' and DB Adapter2- 'Insert'

Do not know the exact implementation how you have done but this is what you can do to narrow down the issue.
you can check out the instance to know whether you are able to fetch multiple records from the first table.
If that works fine then you can check the transformation whether the data is getting transformed in to correct format.
If that too works fine check out whether the invocation to second db adapter is fine or not.

How to make a field unique accross two or more tables?

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where we need to establish uniqueness for accross two fields of two different tables.
Consider the following example:
Table Table1 has Field Field1 and Table Table2 has Field Field2.
Table1>Field1 have the following values:
   Mnum_1
   Mnum_2
   Mnum_5
and Table2>Field2 have the following values:
   Mnum_3
   Mnum_4
   Mnum_6
Now we need to have the uniqueness defined in such a way that, adding Mnum_1 into Table2>Field2 should violate the constraint. And simillary adding Mnum_3 into Table1>Field1 should violate the constraint.
We should be able to add a new value, say Mnum_7, into either of the column, but after adding into one, we should not be able to use the same value into the other table.
We are using SAP MDM 5.5 SP06.
Please let me know if this is possible and how. Even if we could define it using some valiation it would be helpful.
BTW, Table1 is the Main table and Table2 is a Look Flat table.

this is not possible. Unique keys are defined for a table and we cant link this definition across different tables.
Even Validations work at atable level hence we can not check for the unique key violation using validations as they are in two diff tables.
consider introducing 1 more field in table1 or 2 for defining the uniqueness may be or revisit the data model.
Otherwise this can be controlled outside MDM. How are you maintaining values in these 2 tables- manually or via import. If this is via import and say the source files are excel then this can be checked in the excel sheet itself.

FTP Adapter polling lowercase or uppercase files using single adapter

Hello All,
I was wondering if we can use a single FTP Adapter to poll Lowercase or Uppercase files. For example either abc*.txt or ABC*.txt.
Does the FTP adapter by default support this option, because its not working in my Case and if its supported does it depend on the FTP server settings/security.

Populating SAP Database table using JDBC adapter

I have a requirement to populate a SAP database table say ZTABLE using XI. The Model is the table has to be populated through a file which will be processed by SAP XI. Basically this is a File to JDBC scenario. The database used is ORACLE. Kindly provide me some idea to go ahead.

I tried to place the MS access table in the shared folder of the Application server system but still it seems the table is not being populated.
did you check the log in your receiver channel? (/people/sameer.shadab/blog/2005/10/24/connecting-to-ms-access-using-receiver-jdbc-adapter-without-dsn)
The requirement is to update the tables directly as those are the custom tables.
i would still say that do not update SAP tables directly from XI/ PI.....this is not a standard architecture/ solution....
