Two or more table based forms on a single page

Hi,
Is it possible to have two or more forms fetching their respective tables on the same page ? I mean , to have two Automated fetching processes . I tried to change each page item source from ('DB Column' ... column_name) into ('DB Column' ... "TABLE".column_name) but is not working.
Any idea ?

Actually I am trying to give you a solution but not 100% sure what you exactly you want?
According to your subject, i understood that you have a page based on two more tables so if it is then
create a view on these tables and create a page on view and then create a trigger (Instead of triggers)
for insert /update into the columns related tables.

you can use more than one table in smartform for that first you mention all the tables in the form interfaces and you have to mention the variables that you want to caliculate in the global definitions.
For caliculation right click on ant text and in that we have flow logic option in that we can select which type of code you want to write and you have to create those inbetween two text fields where the values are there and the other one is where you want to display the result.
in that code in input parameters we have to mention the variables which you want to use for caliculation and in output parameters mention the variables in which you want to store the result. And then we have to write the logic what ever we want.

You can write a custom SQL query and map it to an object as needed. You can also use the Toplink query language "anyOf" or "get" commands to map two tables as long as you map them as one to one (get command) or one to many (anyOf command) in the toplink mapping workbench.

WHERE clause creating a join for two or more tables

The CS3 Dreamweaver book says that the WHERE clause can
create a join for two or more tables. The join was created, but the
data is repeating. I have searched the web and this forum and have
not found the answer.
My Master page filters the recordset by Style No and when a
customer clicks on a particular style, it sends him to the Detail
page. All the records are showing from all tables on the detail
page from the Dynamic List, except they are showing multiple times
(ex. Size table has 4 sizes and Color table has 2 colors - my Size
Drop Down list is showing 8 options and my Color Drop Down List is
showing 8 options) I have a Master Page with a recordset pointing
to a Detail Page using the same recordset.
Master page works perfectly.
Master Recordset SQL:

products.name, products.description, products.ourprice,

tried changing the field name "styleno" in the other tables to be
unique, however, I was using the table identifer. I tried using the
JOIN command instead of the WHERE clause and that didn't help
either.
On the detail page, the customer is supposed to click on the
Size box and see sizes XSM - 6XL ONLY ONE TIME. and then be able to
click on the Color option and see White, Black, Red ONE TIME.
Is this possible?

I'm trying to set up links from a table based form to another table based form; I created a new Item, with link pointing at the second form, but have no idea how to pass it the query parameter. The idea is having a "Clients" form, next to each client row there's a clickable label that pulls up the "Invoices" form, so you can see Client's Invoices. How do I pass the ClientID to the second one?

How to turn a table-based form into a master/detail ?

Hello, I have a form based on a table on which I have spent quite a bit of time adjusting presentation and adding dynamic actions.
Now comes the requirement to handle an open number of related records, ideally on the same page.
Has someone documented the steps needed to turn a record-based form into a master/detail one ?
I am using APEX 4..2.1

If you think your are missing something you could create the master detail pages for comparison. And delete these dummy pages when your done.
I finally got around to working on this. You got me on the right track Nicolette, so thank you for that.
I also had to fix bits in making processes conditional, and branching, too.
Mainly this has to do with the "delete checked" button which deletes detail records, and submits the page to itself.
One also needs to rename the REQUEST used in that case from MUTLI_ROW_DELETE to APPLY_CHANGES_MRD
(as this pattern will trigger an UPDATE for the master record)
All in all doable but one needs to be careful and generating a quick example M/D page for reference is useful.
In my case I reckon this was still faster than re-doing all the layout adjustments and DA's
(plus I got to better understand how this all works - there are a couple moving parts, all interdependent)

How does one simultaneously view two or more tables?

When viewing a table, a tab is created. How does one create a second tab with which to view a second table?
A related question - how does one enter and run two or more SQL statements to be viewed side-by-side (as in the above example with straight tables)?

1) For table click the thumb tack an pin it. Then the next one will open in a new window.
2) When you have 2 worksheets open drag the title bar to be on the left/right/top/bottom of that section. Then you'll have side-by-side worksheets.

Two SAPScript forms on a single page

Hello
Is there a way (in SAPScript) to have two forms (sapscript forms defined in SE71) printed in a single page ?
What I would like to achieve is to have several sapscript forms defined in the system and to be able to combine them in a single page dynamicallly - I mean: the printing program would decide which of them should be output.
I have one sapscript form which I want to output always - it contains some header and main window with some items. Apart from this form I need to print some additional information on the same page.
This additional information may be formated in a few different ways - depending on the case. I need to include this info at the top of the page - formatted in one of possible ways mentioned. The rest of the page is always the same (some header and main window with items).
I know I could just use windows definitions in a single sapsript form and let the printing program decide which of those windows to print. But my problem is: I would like to have different sizes of the information printed at the top of the pages - when I define a window I must declare height which will be occupied on the page - I'd like to have different height values for different cases.
Is there a way to achieve that ?

It is not possible.
But instead of creating sapscript, why dont you create different standard text and call in same sap-script based on condition.
You can create standard text in tcode so10. Its similar to editor in sap-script.

Struts : Validating two forms in a single page , on a single submit

In my JSP page, i have two forms, with modifiable feilds. I'm using submit button of the 2nd form to submit both forms (ie. <form action="someAction2.do" onsubmit="return firstForm.submit();"> )
Two forms have different actions which is specified in structs-config.xml. Validation(server-side) is done using validation.xml file.On success/failure, both these actions are mapped to the same (input) JSP page.
Problem is that, validation errors in second form only is displayed. This is because, as soon as 1st form returns validation errors, the second form gets submitted. How can i specify that 2nd form should be submitted only if the 1st form doesnot return any validation errors. I know its possible using javascript at client side, but i want this validation on server-side.
Can any one please help me out. Thanks

Off hand I dont know the answer to your question. But since no one answered your question, here are my 2 cents worth:
I suggest all your JSP pages have one and only one form tag. Re write your JSP page. Make sure all your variables your submitting have unique names. (no duplicate names). As far as I know, having multiple forms on a JSP page is not normallly done and makes it difficult to alter by another programmer after you leave the company.

I have 3 tables, all of these tables have one column(p_id) in common to maintain one-one relationship btw 1st n 2nd table and in the same way 1st and the 3rd table.
Using the 1st table I am creating a form on the 1st page, and I have created trigger with sequence for auto increment of the primary key value.
Now after clicking "Enroll " button(which does two things first is it increments the p_id(pk key) value and second is navigating to next page, and into the enter application I'm playing with this newly creating p_id value)
So this is what I have achieved so far, now I am creating two forms on next coming 6th page(both the forms on same page) and both the forms are design using two different tables(i mean to say 2nd and 3rd table, which I describe above) and both these table have one-to-one relationship with the 1st tables(1st page form).
Now I am aware about the limitation for of the automatic "row fetch" and "row processing" processes: they were designed to work with one table, hence as per the below link:-

I'm afraid I have to agree with Dan, I have lost track of the goal here. If you will permit the use of an idiom, you seem to be swimming against the current. My experience with Apex indicates that this almost always means you are doing something wrong (again, spoken from hard experience).
Please give this a try, invest an hour or so in experimentation and I don't think you will be sorry:
1. Take a piece of paper and lay out your complete page flow from beginning to end. Try to keep each step small and simple. Take 5 minutes, tops.
2. Use the Wizard page template to set up a basic set of pages, one for each page in your flow.
3. On each page, set up the fields you need to capture; just start with a few and don't worry about the layout or look and feel.
4. If you want to capture what a user has entered on a step, regardless of how far they made it through the process (say you want to find out where people are "giving up" on a work flow), create a pl/sql process on each page to log that page's data into a table and only execute the process when the Next button is pressed (you will have to deal with the case where someone is updating something that has already been saved one or more times).
5. On the last page, create a pl/sql process to "finalize" the flow and associate that with the Finish button. You can also clear the cache for all of the pages in the flow if the user clicks the Cancel button or after your "finalize" procedure is complete.
Unless you really need to capture where someone is dropping out of a flow, I don't see why you want to store each page's data in a table. You are just giving yourself something to (a) keep up with and (b) clean up later.

PS - I worked through a quick example and saw that misspoke in my previous post: the values for fields entered on earlier pages in a wizard are cached, not stored as hidden fields on the current page.

Can I have more than one section on a single page?

I opened an old AppleWorks file which has 7 thin columns in two sections, all on a single page. Pages turned it into a two page document. Is there a way to merge the two pages into a single page with two sections?

I am facing the same problem. Word had an easy way to have two sections on one page. I can't see that it is a problem. However, my problem was I wanted two sections on the same page. It appears that Pages handles this differently. It is called a layout break. Same drop down menu. I wanted to change from one to two columns and back on the same page. Hope this helps in your situation.

in the layout, i have defined a table with two headerlines one dataline and one datasection.
in the dataline i want to display some fields out of the outer table.
in the datasection, i defined a table with two datalines, in which i want to display fields of the inner table.
i did the bindings in every table, line and field as learned in BC480.
now i have the following problem.
if i set the trace level to 4 and watch the .XDP file, everything is right.
it looks like this:

It would be easier if you would supply a dataset we can work with. And I assume the queries are called within a other cursor which returns in_cust_id right?
The best/fasters way would be to say goodbye to nested cursors.

Of course you can do what you probable currently do. Open both cursors one by one and compare the results. But when you have 10000 in_cust_ids you start 20000 queries and you have a lot of code.
This method I'm showing need these roles coded as well, but you'll have ONE single query and that will be as fast as ORACLE can be. And I believe it's easier to read too. (But not simple!)
If you need more help, try to supply an example we can work on.
