Populate f4 values of a field based on value of other field

Hi,
I have created select options using WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS.For one of the fields ,f4 values should be based on value of another field in the screen.
How will i achceive this requirement.
I got a link about the same but that is not using WDR_SELECT_OPTIONS

Hi,
Using OVS you can achieve this.,  In OVS Event Handler read the value based on which you  want to display F4 for other field and populate the values based on the first field.
this link is fine., go through this: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/606288d6-04c6-2c10-b5ae-a240304c88ea?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
hope this helps u.,
Thanks & Regards,

  • Seeking Pdf form help - javascript formula to auto-populate fields based on data from other fields.

    Hi there, I am new to PDF form work, and am wondering if someone could help me with a javascript formula.
    I want to auto-populate the EXPIRYDATE field, as the same date as the entered AUTHORIZATIONDATE field, but 4 years later.
    So, I want to be able to enter 11/14/2014 in the AUTHORIZATIONDATE date, and have 11/14/2018 auto populate in the EXPIRYDATE field.
    Seems simple I know, but I've messed around quite a bit and can't seem to make it work. Is this possible??
    Any help would be very much appreciated!!

    And what have you done?
    This can only be done with custom JavaScript programing.
    The value of date type fields are text field and not numeric data. The first task is to convert the dates to a number on some type of number sequence that is a mapping to dates.
    Have you looked at the Acrobat JavaScript API Reference, the MDN JavaScript reference?
    I would use the Acrobat JavaScript util.scand to covert the date string to the number of milliseconds from January 1, 1970 midnight. and then use the getFullYear method of the date object for the year value and add 4 years to that value and then use the setFullYear method to set the year for the date object. Now you can use the util.printd method to format the date object as a date string with a specific format.
    // get the date value, format of date string and years to add;
    var cDate = "11/14/2014"; // date value;
    var cFormat = "mm/dd/yyyy"; // date format;
    var nYears = 4; // years to add;
    // convert date string to date object;
    var oDate = util.scand(cFormat, cDate);
    if(oDate == null) {
    app.alert("Error converting " + cDate + " using format " + cFormat, 0, 1);
    // add years to date object;
    oDate.setFullYear(oDate.getFullYear() + nYears);
    // display result;
    var cExpireyDate = util.printd(cFormat, oDate);
    app.alert("Authorization Date: " + cDate + "." +
    "\nExpire Date: " + cExpireyDate, 3, 0);

    your break is nt the better for this
    i think you can create a temporary table
    the fields salesman category and quantity
    insert and update for each record with a formula or create a new sql query and maybe use a matrix to show as you want

  • Display text fields based on value

    I have a form that has 7 text fields that are to be filled out. I have an ajax process that auto-populates those 7 fields with values based off of the return value of a pop-up dynamic LOV. Is there any way that I can hide the last 5 fields based on a certain value of one of the text fields?
    For example, my fields are:
    P1_Badge (LOV query)
    P1_First_Name
    P1_Last_Name
    P1_Title
    P1_Phone
    P1_Room_No
    P1_Email
    P1_Fax
    The LOV returns a Badge number and populates the rest of the values. But if the Last_Name = 'Smith' then I only want to display Badge, First_Name, and Last_Name and I want to hide the rest of the fields or make them disabled for editing.
    Is this possible without any kind of page submit?
    Thanks,
    Dirk

  • Deriving 1 Value from 2 Fields Based on Values in Fields

    I have a query that needs to return 1 of my values based on the values from 2 fields from 2 tables. However, the value should only be returned in 1 field and one of the fields should be evaluated first. If this first evaluated field has a certain value ('Y') then the other field is ignored.
    To be more clear, per the normal query below, what I want is to somehow, if possible, combine the case t2.el_contr and case t1.contr_type statements so that one field, say: mbr_contr_type_desc returns a value.
    So that if the value of t2.el_contr is 'Y' then 'SUB CHILD' is returned. It is important that this field should be evaluated first (If the value of it is 'Y' then the other field evaluation can be ignored). If this is not 'Y', then t1.contr_type should be evaluated and the values as listed below also returned to mbr_contr_type_desc.
    I know the following isn't correct, but it might better illustrate what I'm trying to do (the normal query is below this)
    case t2.el_contr
    when 'Y' then 'SUB CHILD'
    case t1.contr_type
    when 'A' then '1 PARTY MALE SUB'
    when 'B' then '1 PARTY FEMALE SUB'
    when 'C' then '2 PARTY MALE SUB'
    when 'D' then '2 PARTY FEMALE SUB'
    when 'F' then 'FAMILY MALE SUB'
    when 'G' then 'FAMILY FEMALE SUB'
    end as mbr_contr_type_desc
    In an Access query I would do the following in a column:
    iif([el_contr]='Y',"SUB CHILD',SWITCH([contr_type]="A","1 PARTY MALE SUB",[contr_type]="B" etc.))
    *NORMAL QUERY*
    select t1.ssn
    t1.type,
    t1.grp_id,
    t1.contr_type,
    t2.el_contr,
    case t2.el_contr
    when 'Y' then 'SUB CHILD'
    end as mbr_contr_type_desc_2,
    case t1.contr_type
    when 'A' then '1 PARTY MALE SUB'
    when 'B' then '1 PARTY FEMALE SUB'
    when 'C' then '2 PARTY MALE SUB'
    when 'D' then '2 PARTY FEMALE SUB'
    when 'F' then 'FAMILY MALE SUB'
    when 'G' then 'FAMILY FEMALE SUB'
    end as mbr_contr_type_desc_1
    from member_elig t1
    inner join grp_master t2 on
    t1.grp_id = t2.grp_id

    Perfect!
    Thanks, didn't know that existed. Still learning my way around pl/sql..
    One other (unrelated) question..when i hit the CTRL+LEFT ARROW* button in my SQL window, it will not tab back. This is really annoying! I have looked through PREFERENCES-EDITOR and can't seem to find any setting that will allow this. Do you know of any way to change this so I can tab backwards/fowards through code in the SQL window?
    Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Update/Insert into two fields based on value of one.

    How would I do the following in ADDT.
    Example:
    I have a database about dogs. When user completes form they make a selection from a recordset feed drop down box of breeds. Lets say they select "PUG" based on the selection two fields are populated from the same recordset size="small" and color="brown".
    I hope I've explained this well enough

    I think I understand. I'm using two forms One to select the item from a list. I'm passing that items value to the next page where I'm placing that value into a query which will give me the options available based on the query results?
    >>
    what I meant, is first have the user insert the new record and let him specify the desired "breed" already there -- the following page(s) will need to make sure that he´s going to update the newly inserted record with additional values, that´s why you should use the "SELECT dog_id FROM dog_table ORDER BY id DESC LIMIT 1" - query on page 2. However, once this new record had been clearly identified "by id", you can add whatever options available in the secondary table which are related to the "dog_id" (breed) that has been stored when inserting the new record. Maybe *I* don´t get it, lol ;-)
    >>
    I currently do this the dropdown value to a case statement that takes the value of the dropdown and determines the correct values for the database update

    OK, but when each dog just has one option
    (thought it were two ones: "color" and "size"), isn´t your existing dependant dropdown enough for specifying that "based on breed" option without having to use a hidden field at all ? Ah well, have you ever used ADDT´s / Kollections "dependant drop-down" wizard -- that should do it for one option
    >>
    hidden field that I need to update value based on what the value is above
    >>
    humm -- updating the value of a hidden field in the very same page then ? Never heard of this being possible apart from using some hand-made javascript.
    Guess I gotta ask my dog what it thinks about all that :-)

  • APEX 4.1 show hide fields based on value of checkbox/radio

    I am trying to successfully hide and show fields based on the value of a clicked checkbox.  I am using a dynamic action, but it isn't working.
    I followed the sample at Does Oracle Apex 4 enable the following AJAX features? (ie without the dev writing the Javascript) - Stack Overflow
    I even tried a radio button, but it didn't work.  I cannot uncheck the radio button.  What am I doing wrong?  Thank you for any help you can provide.

    Hi,
         create a dynamic action for page load to hide the item which you wanna hide
         now create another dynamic action
         event : Click
         Selection Type : Items
         Items : P1_Check_box(name of the check box item)
         condition : equal to
         value : return value of the check box item (if you click the check box and the return value is 1 then just add 1)
         in true actions
         Action : Show
        Selection Type : Items
         Items : P1_Text_field(name of the field)
         uncheck fire on page load
         create exact opposite false action, that's it.

    I cannot seem to execute the trigger as I get the message "ORA-

    Is this the correct way to achieve what I wanted? Or is there
    another way?
    Appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance.

    Appreciate your feedback. Thank you in advance. I'm not sure what you mean when you insert a value into a
    record, but if you are setting a value in a column of the same
    record using a trigger, then it's easy.
    :new.COL2 := ....:new.COL4...
    :new.COL3 := ....:new.COL4...
    The trigger must be 'INSERT or UPDATE' and 'FOR EACH RECORD'.
    If you are setting a different record in the same table, the
    solution is much more difficult.

  • Require field be filled out when other field values change

    I tried to search on something I need to do but couldn't come up with a combination of words to find much.
    I have a situation where, when certain field values on a form are changed, I need a comment field filled in. So if one of the designated field values change and the comment field is NOT filled in, I would like some kind of message indicating that the comment field must be filled in when that field is changed. This would preferably happen when the 'Update' button is pushed on the form. And this would need to happen before the data is submitted.
    This seems to be somewhere between a validation and a Dynamic Action. I'm not sure how to go about creating what I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Hopefully I have described the scenario well enough.
    Thanks!
    John

    This did the trick! I created the hidden item, then created a dynamic action that would set the value of the hidden item to 1 if the field changed (action = 'change'). Then I created a validation on my 'comments' field to check if it was NOT NULL when the 'Apply Changes' button was pushed, with a condition of the hidden item = 1.
    One thing extra - I had to set the dynamic action so that it did NOT fire on page load. Otherwise it would set the hidden item to 1 when the page loaded after clicking the "Apply Changes' button.
    So, thanks!
    One other question - I have a lot fields on this form. All of them have this requirement except for a few buttons. Is there any way to list the fields NOT to look for a change. In other words, in the Dynamic Action section, in the WHEN section, is there a way to designate items NOT to look for a change?
    Thanks for the help!

    the problem with div is that I have to put it inside a <tr><td> otherwise it doesn't work. This makes the field look aloof from the rest of the page, and is also not aligned with the other fields.
    Is there anything other than <div> that can be used? or is there a way to correct the look of the field inside a div?
    Thanks

    You shouldn't have to put it inside a <tr><td> to get it to work. I've done what you are trying to do with <span></span> and it worked fine. I haven't tried it with a <div> but I can't image why that wouldn't work. Maybe you could post your code.

  • For the Primary Key Field with the combination of other fields

    Hai
    I Have a problem in creating trigger for the following
    the problem goes like this..
    i have a table with the fields
    fld1 (varchar2(6) fld2(varchar2(20)) fld3 (number)
    the fld1 is a primary key.
    here in this table i am inserting the values ..
    At the time of inserting the fld1 should get the part value of fld2
    say if new value for fld2 is "SAM & CO" then
    it should take the first letter and then followed by the sequence..
    i.e., the fld1 is the combination of a
    letter + firt letter of the fld2 + sequence
    fld1 fld2 fld3
    CS001 SSSSS 324234
    CP001 PPPPP 5345435
    CS002 SSSS 53543543
    Here the Sequence should vary depending on the alphabet of the fld1
    if P the the Sequence should be the next number of fld1 to P
    i.e.,
    if i add the value like this
    insert into tname(fld2,fld3) values('PQQQQ',34343)
    then it should be inserted as
    CP002 PQQQQ 34343
    I need the solution for this..
    Thanx

    There are not enough details to be sure since you have not provided the mappings. From just the error, it looks like you are using the tableC.tableA_ID field as the foreign key in the ManyToOne relationship to A, but have marked it as insertable=false, writeable=false, meaning that it cannot be updated or used for inserts.
    Either make it writable (set the settings to true), or add another basic mapping/attribute in the entity for TableC that maps to the field which you can use to set when you insert a new tableC entity. A simple example is available at
    http://wiki.eclipse.org/EclipseLink/Examples/JPA/2.0/DerivedIdentifiers
