Popup Portal Login / Authentication

I am having problems finding good examples of how to enable a portal login authentication portlet in a popup window. The scenario, is that I will programatically change a web service to require portal role base security. When this occurs the next time this web service is accessed, it should reject that access or block and pop up the portal login window. When I sucessfully log on, then it should return the results and I can close that login window at my leisure. I do not want to keep the login portlet displayed in the main page of the portlet, it should not appear until it is needed. This is a really urgent request if anyone can help me with this. I really appreciate the help!

Anyone that is still looking at this, I have figured out how to do the popup in the pageflow. I have collected a username and password and placed it in my formbean. Now I need to get that username and password into the header of a web service using the OASIS ws-security standard spec. There is an example of placing the username and password token into the SOAP header in the weblogic examples, but it uses a java proxy class to call the web service itself. I am currently using a java control to call the web service. I would like to adapt the code in the example called WebServiceBClient.java under the /workshop/samplesApp/proxyClient/WSSE/token directory to be able to perform this action but call the web service from a control.

ADF Application and Oracle Portal Login Page

We have developed ADF application and deployed it in Oracle AS 10.1.2 along with the custom JAAS module, which is working fine with the application custom login page. As a next page, I want to use Oracle Portal login page for the authentication and authorization.
How can I accomplished it? Any idea?

1. I created blank ADF project
2. I copied myreport.jsp file (this one was generated by Oracle Report Builder) under ..ViewController/public_html directory
3. Created directory 'lib' under ViewController/public_html/WEB-INF/lib
4. Copied reports_tld.jar file under the directory created in 3.
5. Created simple jspx page with the af:link (btw af:goLink does not exists in JDev 12c), set 'destination' to myreport.jsp
After the steps above I could not even compile the application, many problems too many to list here, Basically JDev is trying to build the project with .jsp file generated in Report Builder and is unable to.
So to be sure we are on the same page: I am trying to embed JSP report files generated by Report Builder into ADF project, then create EAR file and deploy on standalone WLS. Finally execute JSP web only report.

Not able to pass portal login page with valid credentials using WebDispatch

We are implementing SAP BillerDirect Portal. To make BillerDirect Portal available over the internet, we Configured SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination. We followed the steps mentioned in SAP Help Documentaion for SAP WebDispatcher with SSL termination.

We created certificate and send it to CA (TrustCenter CA). We received the CA response and we imported the certificate.
AS mentioned in the help document, we configured the SAP Web Dispatcher profile to support SSL termination
We tried to access our BillerDirect Portal over the internet using below link

We are getting login page, once we enter correct user ID and Password, portal is not loading (not going to next page) portal remains on same login page.
If we enter invalid credentials portal login page is giving u201CUser Authentication Failedu201D error.
If we try to access any portal login pages which brings a pop-up for login, login gets succeeded and we are able to see next pages

About login authentication in ADF Security

I have applied ADF Security in application which I learned from the Cue Cards example and I did it successfully but I wanted to change the login page.
So I created a PopUp which I learned from "Oracle JDeveloper 11g Handbook A Guide to Oracle Fusion Web Development" and instead of the Menu Button, I used a Go Link Button as I had done in the Cue Cards example.
But the problem is how to manage the login/logout authentication. As in the book I created a managed bean to handle login and the code is :

But as I run the page and click the login link, it displays the PopUp box but I think it can't get the username and password from the field inserted and displays the error message specified in the above code(ie in try/catch) when I enter the required username and password and click the login button. So is there something in the code, I ran the application TUHRA which I downloaded, which was an example in the book I specified. and it went well and the login popup worked well.
And I want to know that how to work the button by just pressing Enter key without clicking the button ? And also is there procedural change in the ADF configuration in jDev 11.1.1.1.0 and jDev 11.1.1.5.0 as I have jDev 11.1.1.5.0 installed and there was something different in following the steps specified in the book but I managed it by looking at the cure cards example. So is this the steps problem or something else?

I didn't design the login page but I just created a PopUp window and in the popup window I inserted two Input text fields for username and password.
And i set the 'value' of the username field as "#{login.username}" and the 'value' of the password field as "#{login.password}"
Also in the login button the "action" set to #{login.performLogin}.
And the button which I use to display the popup is a Go Link button, the "Destination" is set to "#{securityContext.authenticated ? "/adfAuthentication?logout=true&end_url=/faces/home.jspx" : "/adfAuthentication?success_url=/faces/home.jspx"} ".
I inserted the popup inside the Go Button in the structure window.
And Added the managed bean in the adfc config.xml with the following properties:
Name as “login”
Class as “inventory.controller.LoginHandler”
Scope as “request”
If I don't use the popup and login with the default generated login form , the login is successful
And also when i removed the ADF security configuration, the meta data didn't go away and when i reconfigured the security some error is diplayed in the log details as cannot create or something like rewrite the users.
Please help I don't have much time to complete my project. its an emergency.

Portal Login Broke after Db Upgrade to 9.0.1.3

Hi -- My portal web page login doesn't work after upgrading my portal database version from 8.1.7.1 to 9.0.1.3. All the scripts I ran (Note 159657.1 and Chap. 7 of 9i Database Migration Manual) ran ok. I also applied whatever patches/fixes required to get Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 working with database version 9 per the certification matrix pages. I am still using Oracle 9iAS 1.0.2.2.2 on the middle tier and have only upgraded the database version. Also, I am not using LDAP for authentication.
After the database upgrade, the portal web login page comes up fine, but after I execute a login attempt I get a "Page Not Found" in my browser. This error shows up in apache's error_log:

Everything worked fine prior to the upgrade. There are no invalid objects causing this and I can log into the portal database fine through a sqlplus session. Does anyone know why portal login is broke after database upgrade? Has anyone upgraded their portal database versions in place with this issue afterwards?

Thanks for your reply. I already had a working 9iAS Release 1 with a 8.1.7.1.0 database. All I did was upgrade the database from 8i to 9i on the database server. I also applied the jdbc patch on the 9iAS app server so a connection with the 9i database could be established. As far as I know, there's no portal configuration assistant step here because I already had a complete fully-functioning portal install before the database upgrade to 9i. Is there something I'm missing about your suggestion?

J2EE_ADMIN login authentication failed everyday

Hi,
I went to http://host:port/nwa and log in with j2ee_admin. it says authentication failed though we did not change the password before.
I went to config tool, key storage,... to reset password for j2ee_admin and then sync it with j2ee_admin in ABAP end. restart j2ee. It worked. I could log in.
however it happened again this morning. I can't log in with j2ee_admin with error "authentication failed" in http://host:port/nwa or any portal login. I can't reset password and restart j2ee everyday. I want to fix this error.

9ias portal login customizing

Is there any way to customize Portal's login screen to make your own that will still provide regular login authentication, plus additional features? (w/o using the Page features...unless those can somehow be integrated with user defined templates)

How to set up local server to use a remote server for login authentication?

Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
We are trying to set up a "sub-network" (dont' know if this is the right terminology) using a 10.4 Server OS, to manage a set of clients... the trick is that the client login/home directory information is on a different remote server, and shall remain there, for the most part.
To make it easy to understand here's the environment:
*Local Server:* 10.4 G4 Server Quicksilver 1G dual--we have total control of this one
*Main/remote server:* 10.5 Xserve.. don't know which vintage--we have very very very little input on this machine.. effectively at the mercy of the sysadmin of this system who is very conservative in changing anything (hence the need for a separate server to install applications and client machine-specific profiles, etc since the Xserve admin refuses do it). This serves MacBooks/MacBookPros and few iMacs. (no Windows PC.. as that group of comptuers have their own server)
client: ~20 eMacs/iBooks all running 10.4.
use environment: elementary school-->very low network demand (no e-mail, just running local apps linking to server(s) for licensing and login, and some file saving small files on remote server, user preferences, etc).
The remote server (the Xserve) has all the login authentication, as well as the home directories. every school year, the directories get updated as new students enroll and old students graduate. Currently all the clients are directly linked to the Xserve via LDAP while we bring the local server on-line.
the local sever (our G4 Quicksilver) will have few network applications that will support the client machines. We also will be setting up computer accounts and groups for our clients so that we can properly set their environments (the Xserve admin will not do this on the Xserve, so currently all the clients are connecting to the server as a "guest computer" from what little I understand watching what was done)
now, what is the best way to approach this type of set up with minimal "inconvenience" of the Xserve admin?
I am pretty experienced with standalone UNIX and macOS X administration, but a novice to this whole Server and network setup thing. Any suggestions, instructions, pointers to URLs with how-tos is much appreciated. I am not afraid to use Terminal (grew up on UNIX before GUI), etc., and willing to try safe but unconventional setups if that is what's needed...

I first thought of creating URL Iview and passing the user id and other required details as parameter to that URL Iview.
Then reading your mail i thought of creating a web dynpro java application and then pass all the required values to the url in the application only but i am confussed how i will call the dot net application.
If you have a better suggestion please let me know how to do it.

Redirect to Portal Login page from portlet

We have lots of applications on the portal and many of them need the logged in user information to provide the right display context. For example, "My Notes" where notes are stamped with the user's login id. Our portlet applications show exception messages when the user id is unavailable. Pressing a refresh button takes them to the portal login page.
Does anyone know how to redirect to the portal login page? Here is how I would like it to work: A user has the application up beyond the session timeout period and does something that causes the page to submit. At the application server we look for the logged in user ID which is missing due to session timeout and we send them to the portal login page.

 I fear this isn´t possible to do with ADDT, as it will - when using its Restrict Access To Page behaviour - always redirect to the page you specified in the Control Panel.
 
 However you can help yourself with a simple custom PHP redirect script
(place it @ @ line 1 of your document) which checks whether the "kt_login_id" Session Variable is set, and if it´s not set, redirect to a different login page:

 Hint: users who login via a different login page will still be redirected to ADDT´s default login page when logging out

I'm trying to connect through the FTP client Filezilla. When I try to login with the wizard, it gives me a "503 Failure of Data Connection" reply; when I attempt to login myself, it gives me a "530 Login Authentication Failed." HELP!!!

Now before anyone points out the obvious: my username and password are correct. I've already gone through changing them so I know they are.
Additionally, I've pretty much tried EVERYTHING I've read online, from messing with "terminal" (and subsequently the FTP and STFP options) to changing the sharing options and turning on file sharing/remote management as well as just turning off my Firewall completely.
Now I've used Filezilla before when I first published my site and everything worked fine. My site is published through Wordpress so most of my editing was done through simply logging into my "wp-login." I recently changed the theme and in order to change the header image in that theme I have to do it through my "wp-content" folder, which means I need to use Filezilla. I feel like a complete moron right now considering I've had my site for about a year and can't even doing something this simple.
I've read that the newer version of Lion/Mountain Lion don't support automatice FTP anymore, which (as I mentioned prior) I attempted to fix through Terminal. However, nothing I do seem to do works.
Can someone walk me through fixing this? And I do mean 'walk me through'. I'm not a tech-savvy nerd who knows all the lingo, I just know the basics so sorry if my ignorance offends you.

First be sure login and password are OK. Sometimes the address starts wit "http://..." and sometime starts with "ftp://...". Try both normal FTP access and Scure FTP access (SFTP). At the end, contact the site's provider.

How can I set up SSL login authentication on one domain for multiple domains

Our site currently runs in 22 countries with 22 different
country domains:

etc
We want to use SSL on our login pages but realise that the
cost of certification for every domain is expensive. One solution
would be to channel all login activity to a single domain, eg:
www.mysite.com/login.cfm?site=fr which would then redirect to
www.mysite.fr – this is how Google do it
But, currently we are using encrypted cookies for login
authentication so we would have the problem of having to transfer
the cookie info across domains securely. Is there any way of going
about this?
Any other suggestions would be great, too. We do plan to move
to session management for logins but this is a longer term project
so we are hoping to sort out the SSL prior to that.

Can you not pass the values you need as URL parameters?
Encrypt them befor you send them and then decrypt them on the new
domain. Then add them to whatever place you need (cookie, session,
etc.)?

I want to display some text information in the SAP Portal login page.Is it possible to display dynamic text in the login page?
