PopupManager causes caret to disappear

Hi, I hope someone can help me. I have a popup that I want to serve as a warning of sorts, without stealing the focus.
If I pop it up on focusIn for a Halo TextInput, it works as I want it to.
However, if I use a Spark TextInput, the caret seems to disappear. The TextInput seems to still have the focus, because it is still possible to type inside of it. The caret is just no longer visible for some reason.
Please let me know if I'm forgetting to do something important. Or if this is simply a bug with Spark TextInput, I'd be curious if anyone has found a workaround.

Basics of caret appearance/disappearance

I have a jdk 1.4.2 applet consisting of several complex visual components on the form. Each visual component contains some combination of JTextField, JButton and/or JTable. I'm trying to troubleshoot a program bug where each JTextField, either standalone or as part of a visual component, is capable of displaying a blinking caret independently, meaning several blinking carets could appear on the form simultaneously, even though only field has the keyboard focus. These carets are appearing because of the applet's logic in response to a user action. This wasn't by choice or design, but that's how it came to be. I also have a case where the entire form has no blinking caret at all. My goal is to have only one blinking caret present on the form.
I've gone through the code but so far haven't come across anything obvious. I should mention that the code is replete with all kinds of listeners (focus, action, key etc), their handlers, and some standard methods like isFocusable overriden. I'm trying to approach the issue from a different angle. The most basic answer I'm seeking is: what set of conditions must be present in order for (a) a caret to disappear at a textfield and for it appear at a different textfield (b) a caret to remain at a textfield while another caret appears at a different textfield, and (c) a caret to disappear from a textfield and not appear anywhere else?

what set of conditions must be present in order for....Every text component has a Caret associated with it. The default behaviour is that the Caret is made non-visible when the text component loses focus. Then when the text component gains focus the Caret is made visible again.
So there are no normal conditions that would cause the behaviour you describe. So you must have some custom code that is causing the problem. Maybe you are attempting to share the same Caret for multiple text components. Or maybe you are using a custom Caret that is not implemented correctly.

It seems my "passed" events in my calendar are not on my iphone anymore...Is there a setting I have changed that caused them to disappear? They do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my pc? How can I get them to show up on my iphone again?

Events that are in the past do not appear on my calnedar on my iphone. Have I possibly changed a setting that caused them to disappear? Can I get them back on my iphone as they do still appear on my Outlook calendar on my PC?

Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> in Calendar section change the Sync setting.

If you have a backup of your iPhone on either iCloud or iTunes from the time when those photos were on the Camera Roll, you can restore from that backup and recover those photos. Please use the following article for information on restoring from backups.

Toggling 3D or Continuously Rasterize switches causes comps to disappear forever?

hi all
this has happened to me a few times and it's driving me crazy:
if I toggle on/off the 3D or Continuously Rasterize switches, at times it will make the comp disappear, and reverting the switches to their exact previous state(s) does not bring the comp back. Any ideas on what causes this behaviour?

yes, I believe so;
I think I figured it out though, at least partially---when toggling, for some reason, the comp's position gets reset to the origin (0,0,0) and that is why it was disappearing;
really strange still, I wonder why that would happen

Setting width on a sprite causes things to disappear?

I'm a little confused as to what is going on when I set the
width of a sprite manually.
In the attached code, nothing shows up.
If I comment out the "width = 300" line, the circle shows up
as expected.
I'm not sure why manually setting the width of the sprite
causes its child to disappear.
Any ideas?

setting the width or height of a display object before
anything is attached to it causes the sprite to silently fail. When
you add a child to a sprite, the height and width are automatically
generated, so there really isnt much need to set height and width
before you add children. after you add the children you can set
height and width to resize the sprite as you see fit.

Stacking Shapes Causes Text to Disappear

I have 2 rectangle shapes that are .25 in height. Each has text that is a single word in a 9 pt font. When I stack the shapes the text in the top shape does not display. I have tried changing the inset margin but that did nothing. Is this a bug?

Click on both objects to select them. Click on the Wrap inspector, then uncheck Object Causes Wrap. Problem disappears.

Sqldeveloper causes display to disappear

I downloaded and installed the large kit (for systems without Java SDK release 1.5). I doubleclick on sqldeveloper.exe, and everything on my display disappears except my mouse pointer. And when I say everything, I mean the screen goes black - no desktop, no exception/core dump message, just the mouse pointer. And I can still move the pointer around. I've waited for several minutes, and nothing else happens. It seems my only option at this point is to hit the power button, whereupon WinXP does a graceful shutdown.

Section 1.2.2 says I need Sun Java J2SE JDK 5.0 (Update 5 or later). I installed that, but it doesn't help.

Update your display driver. You can also try updating to java 1.6, although that is a long shot. If neither of those work, try googling your display driver and java as there may be a solution on the web for the issue.

Backup caused contacts to disappear. Why can I not get them back?

I was asked for my apple password to complete a backup. After I entered the password my contacts disappearred and I am unable to get them back on my iPhone from either the Verizon website or from the Apple iCloud site. How can I get them back without having to reenter them from scratch.

If you generate a new sync key then all data stored on the Sync server is reset, so you can't retrieve it anymore.
The sync key is used locally to encrypt your data before sending it to the sync server, so you should always backup this key to a safe location.

Depends how they were transferred. If you used Migration Assistant, a new user was created. Look there in your documents folder. If you used Setup Assistant, look in your documents folder.

Rejecting no longer causes picture to disappear

Hello.
All of a sudden when I hit 0 to reject a photo it stays put. It used to immediately disappear and go to the rejected photo section. Now it stays in the project. It does have an X in the corner signifying its rejected state.

I would check your filter or search/find function. It probably has been changed to accept all images rather than just those defined as no rating or above. You find this looking for magnifying glass icon..and it varies a bit as to which window you are working with. If you select the view of just the thumbnails (second one to the left in the right upper corner, the magnifying glass is right underneath it.

Web Object causes background to disappear

I've noticed that, when going into a slide containing a Web Object, the background disappears for a moment. This just happens when published as HTML5 (and happens on both a Mac and an iPad). Is there any way to prevent this from happening? It looks very unprofessional.

Zooming article causes everything to disappear

Hi there,
I have some PDF-type articles containing multi-state objects. If I pinch and zoom (in the preview app) everything on the page disappears...is this a bug? Is there something I can do to prevent this (either with the zoom working, or by disabling it)?

There was a bug in v23 that I thought was fixed in 24. Make sure you have version 24 set for your folio.

Removing separator causes callouts to disappear

Hi. I'm using Visio 2010 to modify a cross-functional flowchart that I created in Visio 2003.
I added a new sheet, and created a process diagram with 11 steps, each step having a call-out with a fair bit of text included. I added a separator to represent an external event.
I decided the separator was not needed, so I deleted it. When I did so, all my call-outs instantaneously disappeared.
Does anyone know why this happened?

Hi,
Do you add a “call-out” on a separator? If so, the label and the Separator shape as a whole, they can’t be separated. When you delete separator, the label is deleted too.

Applying LiveFont causes text to disappear

When I apply a livefont to my text, the text goes invisible? Anyone have this problem? i've even soloed the track and still, no text. i've moved down the timeline to various locations on the text and still no text.
Is it possible the LiveFonts are not loaded on my machine, even though they're displayed in the library?

Stephen, you still around? I'm having another issue now, when I apply a live font to text, it seems fine for the first 100 frames or so, then the first letter pops off (disappears). i've tried different live fonts with same result.
I also went through every tab in the inspector and scrubbed the timeline from where the first letter is visible to where it disappears and can't find anything that's changing over time.
ugh. pulling hair out now. not enough time to debug this stuff as I'm on a deadline.
