Port forwarding to two devices with HH4

Having set up my IP camera with HH4 successfully, I've now got another one and would like to set it up as well. I gave it a unique, static IP address which my router can see fine. When I try to set up port forwarding, I get a message saying:
"The game or application you’ve selected conflicts with an application (IP Cam 1) you’ve already assigned to another device. Please remove the other application or select the same device."
I am not being given the option to select the same device.
I'm now wondering if port forwarding to two identical devices actually works in principle with HH4? Has anyone else done this?

If in the Home Hub 4 A you go to
Advanced Settings
Firewall
Port Fowarding
Manage Games and Applications
You get the following statement:
"Each game or application can be assigned to only one device on your home network"
I would think that the only way round your problem is to have each Camera running a different application or the same application with a different name.
Does the remote browser app need to know the application name  or just the device name ?
If you think about how Port Forwarding needs to function you need a way whereby  the remote user needs to be able to tell the Hub what Camera to talk to.

  • Port Forwarding To Two Macs with Port 22 limitations

This is another port forwarding/port 22 issue and I've look around and not seen an answer to my specific problem.  I work for a business that has an in-house ad system that runs on a Mac Mini.  I have been accessing that Mac Mini remotely because we set up port forwarding through the Linksys rounter that is at the business using port 22.  This is the only port that works for this connection to the mini and the software.
We are now adding a second Mac Mini to send the ads to a different set of monitors.  I can't set up port forward to the new mini on the same port so I don't know how to connect to this mini remotely.  Is there a way to get into the first mini through port 22 and then somehow communite to the second one through the first?  Is there another way to do port forwarding...or have the linksys router switch from one mini to the other when a request comes in?  There will only be one remote computer trying to reach either Mac Mini so there will never be simultaneous traffic coming in.  Any help would be appreciated!
The linksys router is critical to the business becasue a host of other devices are forwarded though it as well.
    Thank you.

  • Port Forwarding to two computers.

I want to open ports for an application that I use on two different computers. I have been able to forward the port to on (static) ip and everything works fine. But when I use the application on another computer the port is closed. On my previous router I could say port map to 192.168.0.* and all computers would have the port open, and the app would be fine on either computer. The AEBS does nor recognize the *.
When I set up the same port forward to two different ip addresses with the same ports open I get an error that the port mapping already exists. Is there a way just to have the port open for any computer on the network?
How would I allow incoming traffic to a specific port on either computer? Normally the application is only used on one computer at a time.

Look into using Apple Configurator.  It's the easiest way to "reimage" and Manage iPads that I know of right now.

  • Can I use iCloud to sync two devices with different apples Ids?

Can I use iCloud to sync two devices with different apple ID's

What do you mean by "apple ID"?  There's an ID you can use at the iTunes store to buy songs, apps, etc.  there's an ID you can use for your iCloud account - the two can be different or the same. So which service are you referring to when you talk about an apple ID?

  • Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?  For example: iPad and iPhone, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud), is this possible?

    Hello Apple Community,
Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?
For example: iPad Air and iPhone 5, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud).  Is this possible?
This way when I change from an old ipad to a new, I can restore with the ipad backup, and when I change from an old iphone to a new, I can restore from the
    iphone backup.
    Thank you in advance!

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.
    Read references for Home Sharing.
iTunes: How to share music and video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688 - about Music Sharing and Home Sharing
Home Sharing Support page - http://www.apple.com/support/homesharing/
iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4557 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

iTunes content can be commingled in the iTunes library on a computer and synced to iOS devices. The computer must be authorized to use the content from the respective Apple IDs in the iTunes Store menu.

  • Time Capsule: Port Forwarding Issue and DHCP with Westell 6100g Modem

Ok two issues as of right now, but more down the road i think... Anyways, number one, i would like to be able to backup my computer using time machine and my time capsule.. Right now it works properly when inside the local network, was wondering if there was a way to backup when outside the network... i travel a lot and always have my macbook pro with me.. Also, i have a USB hard drive connected to the usb port on back of time capsule but its not showing up anywhere... is that only for printers??? that's not such a big deal, but would be nice to have access to that hard drive from multiple computers... OK so part two of my issues is, i have a WESTELL 6100g modem for DSL verizon service, which is crappy, but that's besides the point, it is a modem/router, so i have the time capsule connected directly to that westell.. the westell only has one Ethernet port, so that's wired to time capsule and then my computers are connected wirelessly and wired through the capsule. It seems that the westell is distributing the IP's and is controlling the port forwarding and what not.. I have tried a few things to give control to the time capsule but that didnt work.. i followed these directions on the web page http://www.dslreports.com/faq/vz/4._Hardware#13600 but it didnt work properly, i couldn't log onto the web at all.. Maybe im doing something wrong.... Anyways, what i really want to do is control everything that the westell is controlling right now with the time capsule... i want to give out IP's and also control port forwarding with the capsule.. Any way of getting that accomplished would be AWESOME... I'm somewhat intelligent when it comes to computers so i should understand everything you are talking about... please help!!!

If you have Back to my Mac (available online service from Apple's MobileMe), then you can perform the following actions with your Time Capsule remotely,
    1. Remote disk access to both the Time Capsule disk and a compatible disk connected via the Time Capsule's USB ports.
    2. Remote configuration.
Also, i have a USB hard drive connected to the usb port on back of time capsule but its not showing up anywhere... is that only for printers???

  • WRT160Nv2-Problem with Single Port forward to multiple servers with same internal port numbers.

On my network I have 3 systems that I've set up as RDP hosts.  And need to get to all three of them externally.  So I'm trying to do the following single port forwarding.
    RDP 1   Forward 4000 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.11
    RDP 2   Forward 4001 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.12
    RDP 3   Forward 4002 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.14
When I hit "Save Changes" I get the error "Port range already exists".  So it's good that it won't let me overlap ports generally, but at the same time, I'm trying to send them to different IP address.  There should be no overlap in this case.  Please advise
I'm trying this on the WRT160Nv2 with firmware 2.0.02, which I had just bought this weekend.

    kevj,
Thanks for your suggestion.  I have now upgraded the firmware to 2.0.03 build 7.  But I am still seeing the error message
As I mentioned previously, I'm trying to single port forward to multiple machines in the following way:
    Machine 1:   Forward 4000 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.11
    Machine 2:   Forward 4001 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.12
    Machine 3:   Forward 4002 to port 3389 for 192.168.1.14
The error appears to be generated by the fact that 3389 is selected for multiple external port numbers, but the same internal port number.  The router I believe isn't taking into account that the similar internal port numbers aren't taking into account the different internal ip address I'm trying to send this to.
This would be a standard sort of practice for running a live HTTP server on one machine, and a new beta HTTP server behind the router on a secondary machine on the same internal port, but different external port numbers for test purposes from the outside.
    Please advise
    Thank you.

  • How to set Port Forwarding for video chat with AIM user?

I'm trying to setup video chat between my Mac in the US (with iChat 3.1) and my friend's PC in Japan (with AIM). I need to know what ports needs to be forwarded on my friend's router, and/or on my router.
Right now, when I attempt video chat with my friend (in Japan) at my home network, the invitation only works one way (me -> friend). And when I try to do it at work, it doesn't work at all.
    Help appreciated,

    Hi,
I am also having a similar problem that perhaps others can help with.
I'm using an iMac G5 with iChat here in the States, and am trying to connect to my parents' PC running AIM 5.5 on Windows XP sp2. To complicate matters, my parents have a Belkin wireless modem/router that they use to connect to the Internet.
Currently, I can text chat with my parents, and send files to them via iChat. However, whenever I try to initiate a video chat, I get an error saying that "Phil Waymouth" (i.e. my computer) isn't responding.
This is where we are at the moment:
    - Internal firewall on my G5 is turned off. I can port scan login.oscar.aol.com fine for both TCP and UDP.
    - XP firewall on my parent's computer is on, but has UPnP Framework (ports TCP 2869 and UDP 1900) set up as an exception.
    - I've gone through the stages on http://portforward.com to set up Port Forwarding on my parents' Belkin router. In addition, we've enable UPnP on the router and restarted it. However, if we use www.myip.dk to get the IP address of one of their computers, and attempt to port scan it, it fails.
It feels like it's still either their router, or some ISP issue that's the problem?
I apologise for re-hashing the same problem, but perhaps someone here will have a lightbulb moment!
    Any help is much appreciated,
    Phil

  • How to authorize just one of two devices with one account.

    My friends,
I really don't know what forum to post this question: in iPhone, iPod Touch or iTunes.
Well, the problem is simple. I have one Apple Apps account, one iPhone, mine, and an iPod Touch given away to my cousin. Both share the same iTunes library and I've synced in his iPod some of the apps I've bought. The problem is that I don't want my cousin to access less buy Apple apps by himself. I've made him clear that he shouldn't try to access, but he is a rebel boy and insists on accessing and therefore he blocks my account every time he tries guessing my password. How can I remove his iPod Touch authorization to access my account?????
    Desperado!!

The iTunes account that is available on an iPhone and iPod Touch is transferred to the device via the iTunes sync process - with the iTunes account that iTunes is logged in to when syncing the device with iTunes.
The only way to resolve this and remove your iTunes account from the Touch is restoring the Touch with iTunes as a new Touch followed by not syncing iTunes content with the same iTunes account. Let your rebel cousin fend for himself with his own iTunes account followed by purchasing and downloading his own iTunes content. That way when trying to be a rebel by purchasing iTunes content with someone else's account and not respecting your wishes - especially after giving him this Touch along with free iTunes account purchased with your iTunes account, he needs to learn what consequences can mean when not respecting you and your wishes. Or take the Touch away from him. I believe it sounds like it is time for some tough love.

  • Port Forwarding to Mac Pro with 2 different internet connections

I have my Mac Pro connected to the back of my cable modem. I have given this service the name "Cable" in my network preferences. The details are:
    IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.100
    Subnet: 255.255.248.0
    Router: xxx.xxx.xxx.1
I have the other Ethernet port of my Mac Pro connected to the back of my Airport Extreme which runs ADSL+ from another ISP. I have called this service "ADSL". The details for this connection are:
    IP: xxx.xxx.xxx.188
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
I run a calibre server on the Mac Pro and on my PC (the PC is directly plugged into the back of the Airport Extreme). I have a Dyndns service that works on the address of the Airport Extreme base station.
I can access the PC's calibre server via the mobile network but NOT the Mac's. Even though I have port forwarding to the Mac's reserved IP address of 188, I can't access the server. I can access it on my iphone/ipad via WIFI but not from the mobile network.
If in my Network preferences I change the order of the services i.e. make the ADSL the top service and cable the second, I CAN access the server from the mobile network. It works as it should. If I change the order so that the Cable service is on top, I can't access the server again.
Why does this happen? Can I fix this? Do I need to set up another Dyndns service on my Mac Pro?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to post this as a new post as well because I'm not sure whether the people that were so helpful last time will know that I have updated the post.

Just installed TeamViewer and we're using that. Works great.

  • Can i use two devices with one itunes account?

I share a laptop with my husband.  We have had "sync" issues in the past with his contacts and my contacts intermingling on our separate iPhones.  Can I create two different iTunes accounts for us to sync independently?  What should I do about this?  With the advent of iCloud, we're both going to be autosyncing...right???

This won't be a problem, iTunes will see the new device as a separate device, it will have its own settings under iTunes, you can set it up to sync the same content or different content to the first device, it will have no effect on how the first device syncs with iTunes.

  • How to use the find Iphone app on two devices with the same itunes and apple id number?

I have two Iphones connected to the same apple id . I am unable to use the find my iphone app on both devices. It only works on one!! Please help! It is driving me crazy lol!!

The app should locate both phones if they are using the same iCloud account and the app is signed into the account.  If they are using different account, sign out, then sign back in with the other account to track the other phone.
If one of them isn't showing and you're signed into the correct iCloud account, go to Settings>iCloud on the phone in question and turn Find My iPhone Off, then back On.

  • Port forwarding between two servers from Same subnet

     Hi,
We have a Cisco ASA 5520 Version 8.4(3). There exists a site to site VPN tunnel between us and a client and the client sends us the data to our local host/server 10.x.x.20 on port 52944. So 10.x.x.20 gets data on port 52944. We want to forward this data to a test server 10.x.x.21( same subnet IP) on port 52945. so basically I want to forward traffic from 10.x.x.20:52944 to 10.x.x.21:52945.
Is this possible. I am a new bee to the networking and still learning. Excuse me if this sounds silly.
I know we can add one more ACL in the VPN tunnel and add this test server IP in the ACL. but, then I have to ask the clinet to change their ACL too. I dont want to do this. So I want to wrok around it. Any help or suggestions is much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance :)
This is my first ticket in the support community.
    cs

VMs have nothing to do with it, as long as there's network communication between the servers.
As I said, there must be a service or application listening on that port for it to respond. For example, try this:
    C:\> telnet
When the telnet prompt opens, type in:
    open mail.messaging.microsoft.com 25
If it works, you should see this:
    220 CH1EHSMHS035.bigfish.com Microsoft ESMTP MAIL Service ready at Thu, 7 Feb 2013 00:57:33 +0000
That means that Microsoft's mail servers are LISTENING on port 25 and it responded. And note, telnetting to port 25 is a non-default telnet port, because port 23 is the default telnet port. When you type in a space and then a port number, you're telling
the telnet client to use that port.
That is the SAME THING if some sort of application or service is listening on port 8444 on that other server you're trying to telnet to. If there is no app or service listening, it will just time out.
And no, installing the TELNET service on that sercver will NOT answer to any port other than 23. The telnet service by default, uses TCP 23, unless you specify otherwise.
So once again, what service or app on that server is supposed to be listening on 8444?
