Portal 11g Upgrade (11.1.1.6) with SSO (10.1.4.3)

I have just performed a Portal upgrade from 10g to 11g which is integrated with SSO (10.1.4.3) which is hosted on a separate host from portal.
All components start sucessfully but I am getting the following error in my SSO Apache error_log when I attempt to login.
[OSSO] E21: Communication with the SSO server failed. Unable to decrypt url parameter value.
I have raised an SR but I was hoping that someone may have encountered a similar issue.
Upgrade was as follows
In the process of upgrading Oracle Portal to 11g from Portal 10g (10.1.4.2.0).
Current configuration before upgrade is as follows
Infra structure stack
DB- 10.2.0.5 (GITO enabled, GITO version v1.0)
OID / DIP 11.1.1.6
SSO - 10.1.4.3
Mid tier stack
Portal - 10.1.4.2.0
Step 1 - Upgraded Mid tier stack to 11g
Tested all components, SSO login successful.
Step 2 - Upgrade Infra Structure portal schema, upgrade was successful.
Tested all components, now unable to login via SSO, only error detected in error_log of 10.1.4.3 SSO stack.
500 Internal Server Error displayed for address
https;//hostname:port/osso_login_success?urlc=v1.4....
[OSSO] E21: Communication with the SSO server failed. Unable to decrypt url parameter value.
Any help most welcome.

This article fixed my issue.
It has to do with the fact that the Osso Cookies are encrypted.
If you add this Apache directive to your httpd.conf it's solved:
OssoSecureCookies off

We are under doing upgrading assessment of Oracle Portal from 10g to 11g. After reviewed the 'upgrading guide', we still have some questions as below:
1. Whether the 'Instant Portal' feature remain in Oracle Portal 11g? If yes, how to migrate the Instant Portal 10g sites? If no, any workaround?
2. Whether the old 10g Page Group and Pages will be still available after 11g upgrade? Also can customer import the old 10g transportset into Portal 11g?
3. How about the customized Portal 10g objects (such as customized template, style, attributes) after 11g upgrade? Still be usable?
4. Customer use PDK to develop many portlets in 10g. Can they use JDeveloper 11g to migrate their old project to 11g automatically?

Maintenance of the Instant Portal can be done with the standard Portal tools. The Instant Portal tools are not available anymore.

Export/Import through transports sets has always been limited to instances of the same version. It is not supported between versions as documented in the Administration Guide :

Before exporting and importing content, ensure that your system meets the minimum system requirements, as described in this section.

How about the customized Portal 10g objects (such as customized template, style, attributes) after 11g upgrade? Still be usable?Customized objects get migrated as well. Certain types (e.g. PL/SQL item types) need to be checked after upgrade as the behavior of the PL/SQL code may differ between database versions. This is particularly of concern when the 10.1.4.x Portal uses a 10.1 database. A database upgrade to either 10.2, 11.1 or 11.2 is necessary as Portal 11g is not supported with RDBMS 10.1.
Customer use PDK to develop many portlets in 10g. Can they use JDeveloper 11g to migrate their old project to 11g automatically?Never done this, but the Portal framework is able to consume JPDK providers which are running in older versions of the toolkit. If the providers are running in standalone OC4J containers, you would be able to upgrade the framework and keep the providers in their OC4J containers. This will allow you to focus on the framework first and worry about your providers later.

We have completed to upgrade ERP database from 9.2.0.6 to 11.2.0.1 and also apply ATG 7 on Test instance.
And user finish testing , there is no issue after upgrade and application can work as normal.
On Test instance we didn't implement Single Sign On
But on Production we have Single Sign ON.
Now we plan to upgrade on Production instance. But we afraid that we will found any issue on Production relate to SSO. Becase we don't have a chance to test it.
My question is:
Are there any spacial step we need to do if we have implemented SSO After upgrade DB 11g and ATG 7?

There is no such thing as Weblogic Portal 11g. The latest release of WebLogic Portal is 10.3.2.

ADF with Oracle Portal 11g

One of our customer has Oracle Portal 11g. We want to create a portlet using ADF taskflow and consume it in Oracle Portal 11g. Is it possible?
I know how to create ADF task-flow and how to expose it as a portlet. But I don't know how to access them in Oracle Portal 11g.
Also they want portlet to be secured and should work with SSO (OAM) configured. Is it also possible? If yes, can you please let me know what changes I need to make in my ADF application.

its not a published example. The way it works is that you create a entry for OID in the jps-config.xml file (note that the three entries below need to get into the right place in the jps-config.xml file - which is not hard to spot)

Oracle SSO 10g with Oracle WebCenter portal 11g (11.1.1.8)

My client is having an existing Single Sign On solution (SSO 10g) and now we are implementing webcenter portal 11g (11.1.1.8).
The client is going for OID 11g for the new implementation and wants old SSO to be used for single sign on.
Here's the stack:
1. Oracle SSO 10g - existing one and client is not interested in upgrading to OIM/OAM 11g.
2. Oracle OID 11g - new install and client is ready for migration.
3. Oracle WebCenter 11g - the custom portal whose build is in progress.
We want to bring the new portal implemention under the SSO umbrella for authentication and authorization.
The questions are:
1. Is this discouraged by Oracle? I mean, if you are using 11g for WCP and 11g for OID why not migrate to OIM/OAM 11g ?
2. Can I configure my new portal for this old SSO? if yes, is there any documentation for it? Are there any limitations/demerits in this approach?
3. Is there any other bettter way out there which I am not aware of?

Is not displayed portlet with ADF on Oracle Portal 11g

Hi!
I’ve tried to create a portlet by means of JSR 168 Java Portlet Wizard in Jdev 11g. On step 3 “Content type and Portlet modes“ I choose “Generate ADF-Faces JSPX”, and added an adf calendar to my jspx page, deploied the project to the weblogic server, that provided by JDeveloper 11g. Then I’ve registrated a WSRP2.0 provider in Oracle Portal 11g. My portlet have appeared in portlet repository, and I’ve added it to my page, but when I view this page, I have an error: “Error: Could not get portlet markup. Try reloading the portlet or the page.”.
In “Developer guide for Oracle Portal 11g” I’ve read, that I have to add “ADF bindig filter” to my web.xml, but error stay.

Is there anything different or a particular way you are developing objects and using the jquery framework? I am looking for a sort of best practice approach - where to put the jquery script call, and where to put the html (dyn page portlet vs items vs.....).
In regards to some of my previous problems, I think I found where the performance problem was - not sure why. Besides using the jquery framework, I was also trying to use the jquery validation plugin.

I am using the proper calls <script> tags from a HTML template, and the DOM (atleast the elements I will act on) is generated from a dynamic page portlet (that calls a procedure). When I use the validation plug-in and submit the form, there is a noticable delay in calling the plug-in to perform some sort of field validation. It doesn't error out, but instead takes about 5 - 10 seconds to complete.
If I remove portal from the picture, and upload the html directly on Apache, this performs fast as expected. I do not understand why the javascript is taking so long to act, since I would have expected this to be handled on the client side.
Instead of troubleshooting further, I am planning to avoid that plug-in and just create the validation myself.

Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 Vs. Oracle Portal 11g

I have a basic question on the latest release. We have BEA (now Oracle) WebLogic Portal 9.2 and need to upgrade. Should we upgrade to Oracle WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 OR Oracle Portal 11g? Am I comparing the two correctly?

WebLogic Portal 10.3.6 is the last version of WLP, you can upgrade your application from 9.2 to 10.3.6 with tools provided by Oracle.
Oracle Portal 11g is a complete different product.

Using Page/Portlet level BackingFile based approach in Oracle Portal 11g

Hi,
I have a portal application that is running on Weblogic Portal 10.2, which is based on portlet/page level backing files. We are looking to upgrade to 11g now.
I installed the Oracle 11g instalation (with web center) but that does not support any of the weblogic's backing file based portlets.
I am not sure if i needed to install Oracle Portal 11g or is there also a separate weblogic portal 11g that we can upgrade to?
If Oracle Portal 11g is what i need to install, then is thre a way we can continue to support the weblogic backing file based portlets in Oracle Portal 11g?

The new WebCenter portlet container does not, by default, directly support WebLogic Portal-style .portlet files and their corresponding WLP-specific features (i.e. backing files, WLP-native IPC, forked render, etc.) However, the WebCenter portlet container is a full java portlet 2.0 (JSR 286) and WSRP 2.0 container. Many things you could do with backing files and WLP-specific technology can be done with JSR 286 java portlet classes.
Additionally, WebCenter portal framework, spaces, and ADF contains a WSRP 2.0 complaint consumer. So, you can keep your WebLogic Portal server and application running, and consume the individual portlets into a WebCenter webapp over WSRP. Unable to log into the portal-After Upgrade from NetWeaver 7.0 to 7.3EHP1

1)We are suspecting this issue is related to the theme issue.How to update the theme in the upgraded portal(have a backup of themes)
2)Want to know if we update a theme where it stored at the operating system level(in NW 7.3 EHP1 as well as NW 7.0)

9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch problems.

We got some problem with Portal when tryed to apply
9.0.2.6 Upgrade. Could anybody give advice on this issue:
Initial configuration:
Solaris8, Portal 9.0.2.2.14, Oracle 9iAS R2 v.9.0.2.0, RDBMS 9.0.1.3. The infrastructure and midtier work on different SPARC-servers.
Accordingly upgrade procedure we succesfully applied:
a) Infrastructure: 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server
migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core.
b) 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core, Portal 9.0.2.6
patch.
After this we needed to make just one last step:
Portal 9.0.2.6 Repository Upgrade Patch (2981297) for
changing Portal's repository schemes. It worked but
like a result we got the next errors after patch upgrade
was done:
a) "The following invalid non-Portal objects exist in the Portal Schema: INDEX ABC (the name of portal object), PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL, PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "," when expecting one of the following: (-+case mod not null <an identifier>,...) The symbol "null" was substituted for "," to continue.)" See upgtmp/nonportal.log
b) "ERROR: 1 invalid objects remain; ERROR: Failed while updating the new portlet IDS..."
c) "ERROR: ORA-01407: cannot update ("PORTAL"."WWSBR_URL$"."URL") to NULL.
d) Two package body of packages at PORTAL scheme became invalid: WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL. About 20 package body of packages at PORTAL_DEMO became invalid (It seems like initial portlet ID's disappeared

Like a result after 9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch application we lost the possibility to edit user's
profiles at Portal and other nesessary features. It seems
like some portlet ID's just dissapeared from Portal scheme. Could anybody had the same problem with Portal Upgrade 9.0.2.6? Quite possible that we missed some important element at during upgrade but ,really, we didn't wait so unlucky result. Advice something, please...

Igor,
Since you've encountered undocumented errors, your repository upgrade has failed. You'll want to leave the repository as is for troublshooting, if at all possible, and log a TAR with support if you haven't already. They'll ask you to upload your upgrade log file and your upgrade tmp directory.

Facing issue with SSO communication after Upgrade to SAP EP7.31

Hi Experts,
This is happening post upgrade of system from 7.0 to 7.31. We are using SSO to connect ECC(back-end system) in two ways, logon Ticket and User-Mapping
Issue:
When we click on a tab, lets say "A tab/ User Administration Tab" which uses User-Mapping to communicate with back-end system and clicking on another tab say, "B tab / Content Administration Tab" in portal which uses Logon Ticket to communicate with back-end system.
When both the tabs are clicked one after the other the SSO communication should be different, but in our case it uses the same SSO communication for all the back-end communication, which does not delete the cookies / uses the different SSO mode of communication when clicked on the other tabs.
Kindly help to solve this issue.
