Portal ESS use log / audit / control

Hi all.
Is there any way to have a log of all the changes the user does on their own personal data?? A registry for each change of familiar data, bank information... Any change done through the ESS...
Do you know anything about that??

Can´t find the way to use them accurately...
Security Audit seems to fits more to my goal, but far from it yet.
I need to find something I can show to the user like:
User: ess001
Change: Name = Roberw => Robert
The Security Audit seems very technical and shows the RFCs called, but not the content modified or anything like that...
Is what I want possible?? Does exist anything like I need??
Thanks.

  • Using the Audit Provider to log ejb security events

    I would like use the audit provider to log security events for ejbs that use container managed security. Specifically I want to record the name of the ejb being accessed, the method the user is accessing, the time of the event and the user name of the user who is accessing the ejb.So far I have created an ejb that has method-permissions defined in the ejb-xml file. I have a number of users with different levels of permissions and the security is working.I have also installed the example Audit class that is shipped with weblogic.I am getting Audit indo in the log file, but I do not get any ejb info being logged.Is it possible to use the Audit provider that weblogic provides to audit ejb security events? Do I need to do something special to make this work?Please help, I can not find any documentation about what the audit provider logs.

    Actually I never tried to login into the provider, but I understand you just need the keys.
    Try this code, it works for me (some pieces are missing, but this is the core)
            Provider provider=null;
         provider=new SunPKCS11(providerFile);   // providerFile is a String
         Security.addProvider(provider);
         KeyStore store=KeyStore.getInstance("PKCS11");
            char[] pin=pinAsString.toCharArray();
         store.load(null, pin);
            PrivateKey key=(PrivateKey)store.getKey(alias, null);
            Certificate[] chain=store.getCertificateChain(alias);
            .....Using this approach I managed to read all the information from the provider (aliases, certificates, ...). I'm not sure that's what you needed, but I hope it helped.

  • Error while Creating a basic portal application using JDeveloper

    Hi,
    I am trying to build a portal application using the following tutorial on JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.0 on Windows XP.

    The below message comes when you don't specify any default file for your webcenter portal application and this should not be any problem.
    Target Portal.jpr is not runnable, using default target index.html.
    Can you answer to my questions:
    1. Did you just created a new wcp application in jdev and ran it with out doing any changes? If you have done what are the changes?
    2. How did you ran your application? (right clicking a particular page or right clicking your portal project and selected "run" option?

  • Not able to get a link to the fron-end portal(ess) with back-end sap R\3 AB

    Hi,
       In the back-end i.e sap abap-hr , the required data (leave types) are available.But on front-end Portal(ESS) ,the drop-down menu in personal LOA forms shows only two leave types(personal & self-funded leave).i got struck in how to make few in remaining also viewable in the drop-down list.Can anyone help me on this?

    Bottom line,
    to configure the Leaves on your portal you have to do.
    1. Configure the Leave Types and all the customizing on T554S.
        opc. If you want to have quota deduction, and everything else you should check V_T559L, T556C, T556A as well.
    2. Configure the Leaves on the Portal.  This is done on the IMG path colleague replied:
    >Personnel Management
    >Employee Self-Service
    >Service-Specific Settings
    >Working Time
    >Leave Request
    >Processing Processes
       a. Create the Rule Groups - this step you just create them.
       b. Adjust feature WEBMO - The feature WEBMO is used to select the rule group. Most of the times based on MOLGA and Ctrl. Center.
       c. Define Processing Processes for Each Rule Group - define the processes such as how to record partial day leaves, details on to check PTREQ_HEADER tables for unposted leaves, and how to determine workflow's next agent (more info press F1 on each of these fields)
       d. Specify Processing Processes for Types of Leave - Associate the Leaves from T554S that you want to show on the portal. This includes Absences and ATtendances. Here you define data such as if you are allowed to create leaves on the past, present and future; field customizing, and other details.
    Since Time Management is an old part of SAP the F1 documentation is very complete so I really advise you to check.
    Also, check http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/LeaveRequestCustom+Messages

  • Errors Installing Portal Components using 9iAS Enterprise on 8.1.7 SE

    We are getting an error installing the Portal Components using
    9iAS Enterprise on a 8.1.7 SE database. The log indicates that
    the error is:
    ORA-00439: feature not enabled: Function-based indexes
    Errors encountered in the Install process. Installation Aborted.
    While I know that Function-based indexes are not supported in SE
    this should not prevent the installation of Portal.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thx, Paul

    Its also working in our case where we have used 8.1.7 Enterprise Edition. We installed 9iAS 1.0.2.0 on NT. So if you have any issues regarding this then let me know.

  • Using UCM data controls in ADF application

    Using *.6 Jdeveloper/UCM/Protal Application/UCM
    Calling all the experts in Webcenter/Spaces/UCM/ADF.
    We have a requirement to design search inteface for Documents stored in UCM for Webcenter Portal and Spaces application.
    Our approach is
    Design simple ADF application (no security/templates)
    Bounded task flows using fragments.
    Framents to use UCM data controls (provided by oracle)
    UCM data control definition is extended to use custom metadata.
    package the application.
    Added as ADF library jar to portal application
    Added as Shared Library to Spaces application.
    Question.
    Is this approach sound?
    Does UCM data controls provide all the functionality, for example if we want to read a option list for custom metadata or need custom metadata in return table?
    Can we add other methods to UCM data control provided by Oracle or should we create different one?
    Is there good documentation for such requirements. We have acces Webcenter developers guide which throws some light on UCM data controls.
    Let me know if more clarity is needed...
    Regards

    Hi.
    One of my last components was a custom "Document Explorer" and I used for first time JCR Data Control (Custom UCM Data Control provided by Oracle).
    Sharing my experience I did something similar to you:
    1) Create a ADF Bounded Task Flow and test it individually.
    2) Add generated ADF JAR Library to WebCenter Spaces shared-lib.
    3) Add your Task Flow to Resource Catalog.
    Challenges that I found using custom Data Control:
    1) When items retrieved are content/files all custom metadata can be retrieved OOTB.
    2) When retrieving folders don't provide custom metadata like files. I used RIDC with JCR Data Control to provide all the information relative to folders. If you don't need more information about folders than the name, URI and icons then is OK :).
    3) Using JCR Data Control registers in DataControls.dcx UCM Connection name used when generate JCR Data Control. After deploy your ADF JAR Library in WebCenter Spaces you'll have problems if you don't have a WebCenter Content Connection created with the same name. (Not talking about export UCM Connection with ADF JAR Library, Data Control uses a Connection name by itself :)).
    I added extra functionallity with RIDC (not extending JCR Data Control).
    I hope this help you.
    Regards.

  • Can I recover the database to the current time using a backup control file?

    Can I recover the database to the current time using a backup control file? How far can I recover this database?
    I have an Oracle 10g(10.2.3) database on RHEL4.3 system.
    I have lost all the current control files and all the online redo logs, archived redo logs and all other files are OK.
    Now I have to recovery this database using a backup control file.
    Can I recover the database without any data lost?

    If
    a) it was a Shutdown Abort or an Instance Crash (i.e. backgrounds died on detecting loss of redo logs),
    b) redo logs are lost
    c) data files are intact
    You'd have to
    a) Restore datafiles
    b) Do an Incomplete Recovery to the last available ArchiveLog

  • Multiplexing redo logs and control files to a separate diskgroup

    General question this one...
    I've been using ASM for a few years now and have always installed a new system with 3 diskgroups
    +DATA - for datafiles, control files, redo logs
    +FRA - for achive logs, flash recovery. RMAN backup
    Those I guess are the standards, but I've always created an extra (very small) diskgroup, called +ONLINE where I keep multiplexed copies of the redo logs and control files.
    My reasoning behind this is that if there are any issues with the +DATA diskgroup, the redo logs and control files can still be accessed.
    In the olden days (all those 5 years ago!), on local storage, this was important, but is it still important now? With all the striping and mirroring going on (both at ASM and RAID level), am I just being overtly paranoid? Does this additional +ONLINE diskgroup actually hamper performance? (with dual write overheads that are not necessary)
    Thoughts?

    Some of the decision will probably depend on your specific environment's data activity, volume, and throughput.
    Something to remember is that redo logs are sequential write, which benefit from a lower RAID overhead (RAID-10, 2 writes per IOP vs RAID-5, 4 writes per IOP). RAID-10 is often not cost-effective for the data portion of a database. If your database is OLTP with a high volume of random reads/writes, you're potentially hurting redo throughput by creating contention on the disks sharing data and redo. Again, that depends entirely on what you're seeing in terms of wait events. A low volume database would probably not experience any noticeable degraded performance.
    In my environment, I have RAID-5 and RAID-10 available, and since the RAID-10 requirement from a capacity perspective for redo is very low, it makes sense to create 2 diskgroups for online redo, separate from DATA, and separate from each other. This way, we don't need to be concerned with DATA transactions impacting REDO performance, and vice versa, and we still maintain redo redundancy.
    In my opinion, you can't be too paranoid. :)
    Good luck!

  • Audit control

    A new engineer in our SQA (Software Quality Assurance) department mentioned some mechanism for ensuring that test sequences run in production are the same versions of the sequences as when they were reviewed and approved by SQA.  He mentioned "audit control" and said TestStand has a way to generate a file containing some sort of hash value representing the approved version of all sequences, and that modifying any sequence would result in a run-time check failing and a note on the final report that the sequence isn't SQA approved.
    Can you help me understand how to implement this?  The Senior SQA guy's eyes lit up when he heard about this.

    Hi jcarmody,
    I believe that what you are trying to accomplish can be done through the Differ Application. I would keep one copy of the sequence file as a standard and always use a different copy of the sequence file to run tests.  Then you can run the differ application in order to make sure nothing has changed in the sequence file.
    Another option you could pursue is to create a user that only has privileges to run sequence files instead of editing and saving them.
    Thanks
    Thanks.  I'll try the Differ.  My question wasn't prompted because operators can edit sequences (I alone have access), this was from the SQA department that wants to ensure that I don't change anything outside of the formal change process.

    What to do if you use a segmented control in interface builder and it doesn't work ?

    The first thing to do would probably be to update your profile and/or signature so people will know what OS, language, and development system you are using, then perhaps include some additional information such as what "it doesn't work" means, and possibly a few other things like some error logs, what you have done so far, maybe a code snippet or two, etc.

    Good morning all,
    I am in desperate need of a trigger for audit control, that is who is doing what action (udpate, delete, insert)to a record, old value, and new value. Time and date wouild also be helpful.
    Problem -- and it's a big one. I don't know pl/sql. Trying to learn it, but in time for this project.
    Thanks all.
    P.S. If you have a link to a documentation that tells you how to do something like this, please let me know. Thanks again.

    Hi,
    The following example demonstrates a trigger that audits modifications to the Emp_tab table for each row. It requires that a "reason code" be stored in a global

    session and that each session has a separate copy of
    all package variables. */
    IF Auditpackage.Reason IS NULL THEN
    Raise_application_error(-20201, 'Must specify reason'
    || ' with AUDITPACKAGE.SET_REASON(Reason_string)');
    END IF;
    /* If the above conditional evaluates to TRUE, the
    user-specified error number and message is raised,
    the trigger stops execution, and the effects of the
    triggering statement are rolled back. Otherwise, a
    new row is inserted into the predefined auditing
    table named AUDIT_EMPLOYEE containing the existing
    and new values of the Emp_tab table and the reason code
    defined by the REASON variable of AUDITPACKAGE. Note
    that the "old" values are NULL if triggering
    statement is an INSERT and the "new" values are NULL
    if the triggering statement is a DELETE. */
    INSERT INTO Audit_employee VALUES
    (:old.Ssn, :old.Ename, :old.Job_classification, :old.Sal,
    :new.Ssn, :new.Ename, :new.Job_classification, :new.Sal,
    auditpackage.Reason, User, Sysdate );
    END;
    Optionally, you can also set the reason code back to NULL if you wanted to force the reason code to be set for every update. The following simple AFTER statement
    trigger sets the reason code back to NULL after the triggering statement is run:
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER Audit_employee_reset
    AFTER INSERT OR DELETE OR UPDATE ON Emp_tab
    BEGIN
    auditpackage.set_reason(NULL);
    END;
    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila
