  • Date format MM/DD/YYYY

    Hi everybody,
The date format in the Portal MM.DD.YYYY when it should be DD.MM.YYYY. We are entering in english and if we enter in Spanish the format is correct. But it shouldn't depend on lenguaje only...
The User Profile in R/3 is DD.MM.YYYY but there are some transactions only in Portals but not in R/3, so we are not using the R/3 user.
Is there a User Parameter in portals that can be set to force the date format?
    Thanks in advance

There are 3 parameters to set in the file prtDefault.properties on the portal server, to force the date format.
    request.defaultcountry=gb
    request.mandatorylanguage=en
    request.mandatorycountry=gb
The first param above exists already, you just have to change the value. The last 2 params need to be added.

  • Regarding Date format in output text file

    Hi Frnds,
i am taking the data from vbak table into one internal table T_vbak, in that i am having vdatu field also, and after that using GUI_Download function module i am downloading that internal table data to one text file into presentation server.
But the date format is displaying in yyyymmdd format in the text file, but i want the format like mm/dd/yyyy in the text file, can anybody plz help me....

    Hey Bala,
You can use the following conversion routine for converting the date from yyyymmdd format into mm/dd/yyyy.
    data: l_date(10) type c.
    Loop at t_vbak into wa_vbak.
    CONCATENATE wa_vbak-vdatu4(2) wa_vbak-vdatu6(2) wa_vbak-vdatu(4) INTO l_date SEPARATED BY '/'.
    wa_vbak-vdatu = l_date.
    modify t_vbak from wa_vbak.
    Endloop.

    Chetan.

  • DATE FORMAT Conversion FOR SQL Reports

    Hi,
Am building a report and am stuck here where this piece of code that throws the following error
The conversion of a varchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
My query goes some thing like this
    DECLARE @StartDate varchar(15),

    SELECT @StartDate = '01/08/2014',
    @EndDate = '31/08/2014'

  • Date format in BEx Analyser / PreCalc Server

    Hi All,
First off, i have read many threads in this forum but none seem to solve our issue. So hopefully somebody will have a fresh view on this.
When i broadcast a workbook from BEx Broadcaster using a Precalc server, the date format displays as mm/dd/yyyy. We want it in dd/mm/yyyy.
    1. The BI profile (SU01) has the correct date format.
    - When the user runs the query in the portal or through BEx Analyser, the date format is correct.
    2. There isn't any issue with the query / workbook as we can broadcast it through a test pre-calc server and it displays in the correct format.
    3. Many threads have suggested changing the date format in the control panal of the precalc server. Not only have i done this for the logged in user, i've updated all users on the server through the registry. The precalc service is being run under the Local system user and this was one of the entries which i updated as it was still in US format. We tried restarting the service and also rebooting the server. But no change to the date format display. It is still in US format.
Has anybody any other suggestions for this issue. We want to apply it to all users for all queries if possible.  Should be an easy one but nothing has worked.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Georgina

    Hi Ravikanth,
    Thanks for your reply.
The first option won't work as i'd need it to be in the correct format when broadcast out by email to users in excel format.
I was hoping that this could be resolved without a custom solution, however the second option sounds like it could work but i have not worked with macros before and i'd imagine you'd need to know what you are doing to modify any of the modules behind the workbooks as it could mess them up.
If you have any suggestions or resources that you can point me to, that would be great.
    Thanks,
    Georgina

  • Data services with SQL Server 2008 and Invalid time format variable

    Hi all
Recently we have switched from DI on SQL Server 2005, to DS(Date Services) on SQL Server 2008. However I have faced an odd error on the query that I was running successfully in DI.
I validate my query output using a validation object to fill either Target table (if it passes), or the Target_Fail table (if it fails). Before sending data to the Target_Fail table, I map the columns using a query to the Target_Fail table. As I have a column called 'ETL_Load_Date' in that table, which I should fill it with a global variable called 'Load_Date'. I have set this global variable in the script at the very first beginning of the job. It is a data variable type:
    $Load_Date = to_char(sysdate(),'YYYY.MM.DD');
When I assign this global variable to a datetime data type cloumn in my table and run the job using Data Services, I get this error:
error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Invalid time format>.
However I didn't have this problem when I was running my job on the SQL Server 2005 using Data Integrator. The strange thing is that, when I debug this job, it runs completely successfully!!
Could you please help me to fix this problem?
Thanks for your help in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.
The ETL_Date is a datetime column and the global variable is date data type. I have to use the to_char() function to be able to get just the date part of the current system datetime. Earlier I had tried date_part function but it returns int, which didn't work for me.
I found what the issue was. I don't know why there were some little squares next to the name of the global variable which I had mapped to the ETL_Date in the query object!!! The format and everything was OK, as I had the same mapping in other tables that had worked successfully.
When I deleted the column in the query object and added it again, my problem solved.

  • Date Format in Portal Report

    Hi,
I have created a SQL Report with following select statement. Looks like portal has default format mask for date type as 'DD-MM-YY'.
If I put DD-MM-YYYY or DD-MM-RRRR in Format Mask field in Column Formatting screen, the reports generates 04-10-0002 . It should
    be 04-10-2002.
    select process_id, last_update_date
    from obm
    where process_id like (:process_id)
I tried to use the to_char function as following. But it errors ORA-06502:PL/SQL:numeric or value error. Even though it works fine in
    my sqlplus session.
    select process_id, to_char(last_update_date, 'DD-MM-YYYY')
    from obm
    where process_id like (:process_id)
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Which version of portal are you using? The error with to_char comes in 30984. This is a bug. The bug no is 2567445. A one-off has been issued. Please look in metalink for it. And for the date formatting in the column formatting section the formatting should work fine. Please check the data in your table.
    Thanks,
    Sharmila

  • Date format in Maintain capacity of iSupplier portal

    Hi,
In Maintain capacity under planning tab of isupplier portal page, when we select a row and click on Maintain capacity,we get a detail page.In that page we r asked to specify the capacity/day for the given date range. This date field doesnot support the format dd-mon-yy/dd-mm-yy but takes date for eg 3-jul-02 but not 03-jul-02(or) 30-jul-02.
    kindly help.

The date format is calculated using country and language settings.
Check SAP Notes 947081 and 1164528 which deal with this topic.
If you use an R/3 based store (UME User Management Engine) in the backend system to keep your user data please ensure that you have not only maintained the language setting but also the country setting. Both in combination determine the NetWeaver Web Dynpro locale and in consequence the calendar date format that is used, e.g. DD/MM/YYYY for Australian English and MM/DD/YYYY for USA English.
    Thanks,
    Shanti

If you have a date column, converting that to a timestamp isn't going to magically add more information to the date.
Date data types hold time information (not to the fractional precision like timestamps, but up to the second) ... if you are having a problem seeing that information, it's likely because of your NLS_DATE_FORMAT setting (whatever client you are using to view the data isn't showing you all of the information, but it's still there).
So basically, this boils down to your code not "making sense" at the moment
    Cheers,

  • Wrong Date format in SQL Server

    Hello All,
I have an asp page with a hidden field that holds
    <%=Date()%>. Because the
Session.LCID is set to UK this value today would be
    12/03/2007 (UK format).
When this hidden field is fed into an INSERT Stored Procedure
    in SQL Server
in my testing environment, the date format that is inserted
    into the
database is the same as the value in the hidden field eg
    12/03/2007, which
    is what I want.
Now though, the site has moved to a production web server
    with SQL Server.
When I perform this exact insert using the same webpages and
    (from what I
can see) the same SQL Server configuration, the date inserts
    as 03/12/2007,
US format. This is causing me big problems as the website is
    complete but
the wrong dateformat is producing some undesirable results.
    The whole site
is set up to expect the original format and I cannot see why
    this is
    happening.
Does anyone have any suggestions and more importantly how I
    can change this
    please.

There is a real issue here and it has nothing to do with the
    way that data
is formatted on the way out.
msSQL does seem to always assume that numbers entered in the
    format of
00/00/00 follow the pattern of MM/DD/YY which is American
    format. So the 8th
of March entered in UK format of 08/03/2007 ends up being
    intrepreted by SQL
as 3rd August. However it only does this up to the 12th of
    each month. If
you enter the 13th of March as 13/03/2007 SQL stores it
    correctly.
The workaround does seem to enter the number in the
    YYYY-MM-DD format as
    Julian has suggested.

  • Date Format in Portal

    Hi all,
Iam working in Portal 7.2 and I need to change the date format in portal. Is there any path in System Administration -> System Configuration any properties that i need to change the format.
    Any help/advice/suggestions highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
The Date Format depends on the Browser Language and also the Language set to user in User Administration of Portal.
    Check the threads below:
How to set default language for Portal?
    Issue with Record Working Time.
Check the SAP Note : Note 947081 - Locales, languages, date and time formats in Web Dynpro
It will give you info of what has to be changed.
    Hope this helps.
