Portal Users Login Time during a particular interval

Hello,
I have gone through many forums and blogs but didn't find any helpful comments on how do I get the list of users and their respective login times during a particular time interval. All my users are stored inside the portal only, I am not using a dual stack system. Please tell me if there is some way to find out the solution to this problem.
Thanks  & Regards
Ashish Patel

Dear Ashish
Have you checked the Portal DB Tables ?
For example this table WCR_USERSTAT  might be of use to you (but there are others).
But you might not find the information for "a particular interval". I believe you will have to do some development for that.
Kind Regards

  • Terminate Portal User Login with JSessionID or MYSAPSSO2 Cookie

    Dear All,
I know using Visual Administrator , we can terminate the session.
Is it possible for the administrator to terminate a logged in portal user with his/her  JsessionID or MYSAPSSO2 cookie value or User Id programmatically.?
Is it possible for portal admin to forcibly exit (logoutl) an active user login  without logging onto visual administrator?

The only complete mitigation for session hijacking is to run the entire site as SSL. This is Oracle's recommendation if you need a complete mitigation solution. And example of an ATG site running in full SSL is Dennis Kirk (denniskirk.com).
The problem with doing so is that SSL (a) takes more processing power in the system running the client's browser and (2) incurs latency that degrades the perceived page performance. This is particularly true for consumers running Internet Explorer, where speed-up measures like SPDY are either incomplete or don't work. And for a hard core eComemrce site, slower page performance means that you make less money.
Most sites, including those that you mention, use a mixture of SSL and non-SSL pages to overcome this. They use non-SSL for those areas of the site where penetration does not have a material negative impact. Browsing catalog pages as an anonymous user, for example. If someone hijacks my session and I'm browsing the catalog anonymously, they're welcome to it. There's nothing private in my session. Even robots can access that content.
Once I login or go to pages where private information is being exchanged, then you have to secure the session. That's where the protocol switcher servlet comes in. As you authenticate, you switch the user to SSL.
I've tried a number of additional mitigation steps. Unfortunately I can't discuss them here at this time.
And none of the servlets that you mention have any benefit with mitigating session hijacking.

  • Portal User Login History

I am looking for a way to create a procedure or use an api in order to return the last time a portal user logged in to their account. Any suggestions?
    null

I cannot think of any APIs in the PDK that will do this, but it is very simple to do via custom coding etc.
Create a table with a minimum of these base columns:
    PORTAL_USERNAME
    LAST_LOGIN_DATE
    etc.
You could create a custom login or logout portlet which uses the WWSEC APIs and also reference a function that adds or updates a row in the above sample table. That way you can keep track of this information. If you use a custom portlet, remember to turn off your page links as appropriate so that there are no ways to escape using the custom portlet!
It is probably best to do it on the login process and people may not log out properly, i.e., close the browser which means you do not get an accurate picture of log in times.
You then can in your custom portlets/apps etc. do a check against this table to do simple things like 'Welcome back John' etc. etc.

  • Same portal user logins when open in new tab/window

    hi all,
i've any issue, how can i use the portal with different logins (ie) in different tabs or windows. currently i've to logoff everytime to login as a new user, is something to do with ie settings?
    tnx,
    JB

    Hi,
Yes you cannot login into the portal with two different users in the same browser if you want to use another user you have to use another browser for example:say user1 has logged into the portal using IE in which you cannot login into the portal with another user say user2.
    Hope it helps.......
    Thanks,

  • Limiting user login time with logoutd

Hi, I wish to limit the time a user uses his session, and I found that the "logoutd" daemon can accomplish this, however, I could't manage to find the syntax rules for configuring it, it uses the next config file:
    /etc/porttime
    Any Ideas?
    =======================================================
Edit: I found out how to use it in the man page:
    man porttime
    pretty simple
    ========================================================
Hum, I did what the man page said adding a line for the /etc/porttime with the config I wanted, however I can still login, heres my conf:
    *:loise:Al1900-2100
I want that the loise user can only login from 7PM to 9PM everyday, and that the rest of the users can login at anytime. What should I do?

    Chris,
    Thank you for your response.
I am using Firefox version 2.0.0.20. When I add the security component into my ADF application, I just take whatever it has by default without any customization. That includes default login.html and error.html. Here is my experience,
    1) Execute my starting task flow activity inside the JDeveloper. This will invoke a new login page in my default browser Firefox.
    2) Login the application with user "abc" and do something. Keep this session open.
    3) Open another Firefox browser and enter login URL. and then Login the application with user "xyz" (or even "abc"). I got the error page.
To me, it should be basic web application behavior. I can do things like this in other J2EE application. This one doesn't make sense at all. I am not sure if this is the behavior I would see when I deploy it to a standalone WLS.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    John

  • User id login time control

    Dear Expert,
I would like to control some of user id which cannot use in particular time (e.g.: peak hour). Could you advice if there are any configure setting which can setup login time limit in particular user id? (e.g.: CUA, if yes. could you advice?) Thanks very much!
    Rdgs,
    Emily

    Hi Emily
Again I would be looking at which programs are causing the high server load and limiting them to specific times of day. If not, maybe you need to look at general system performance and tuning of system to improve server workload?
As mentioned, I don't believe there is anything SAP standard for this but it seems like you are trying to use security to fix a system performance issue. I've been in cases where accounts are locked for specific activities (like payroll) but that's been done manually via SU10 and then unlocked after activity.

  • How to Restrict same portal user from other node

    Hi
In my application, we charge customers for each portal user logins. But, i found that, they can share same user logins amongs number of people.
I don't want to allow the same portal user login into the application if that user is already logged in and it's session is still active.
    Here is the Scenario :
User A is logged in to the portal from terminal AA. Now, User A agin tries to logg in to the portal from terminal BB. I don't wnat to allow user A to log in from terminal BB bcuz user A has active session from terminal AA.
Can anyone know how to implement this??
    thanks in advance.
    Srini

    Hi Srini!
We have solved this problem with our own login portlet. Before the final login we've got to check (from the certain table) how many logins there are currently with that username.
But there is a problem. If the user closes the browser without logoff, the session remains active. There is a cleanup job, which removes those session in some hours. Still it is not very elegant.

  • Terminate service upon user login, batch script

    Hi there,
We have around ~100 computer that are solid state hard drive equipped. Also, we have ~50 computer that have regular 7200 hard drives.
I created a Group Policy that launches a batch script upon user login that terminates a particular service and attempts to "taskkill" a process. Here it is:
    sc stop backburner_srv_200
    taskkill /F /IM "3dsmax.exe"
The problem is that if a computer, a user logs in to, is solid state hard drive equipped, the above script does not run, or perhaps does not have a chance to run? because solid state hard drive is so fast?
    I am at a loss.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks,

    > sc stop backburner_srv_200
    > taskkill /F /IM "3dsmax.exe"
    sc stop backburner_srv_200 >>%public%\log.txt 2>&1
    taskkill /F /IM "3dsmax.exe" >>%public%\log.txt 2>&1

  • How can  I  restrain the user login portal once, in the same time ???

    Hi
I need to restrain the user can't repeat to login portal ....
    to reduce portal loading
How can I restrain the user login portal once, in the same time???
Which attributs in Identity Manager or amconsole I can do it to restrain the user ??

Does your portal support anonymous access? If so, make sure you are using the authlessanonymous mode. This mode only creates one session that is shared for all anonymous users. This is much more efficient than anonymous access, which creates a session for each anonymous user.
I have no other recommendation for limiting users to a single login. In general, web applications do not behave like this. What if a user closes their browser without logging out? Does the user have to wait until the session times out in order to log back in again?
The same thing is true for users that are mobile. If a user leaves their office without logging out and then attempts to log in with a laptop in the conference room, then access will be denied in your implementation. Users do not expect this type of limitation being built into the system.
If you are having problems scaling, then you need to look at your architecture and perhaps add some more resources. Also, make sure you are making efficient use of the authlessanonymous access mode as stated above.

  • How to get users' login logout time for user IDs for a specific date?

    Dear All,
There is a case I being requested to retrieve the Userid, User Name,
User Group, User Dept, Date, Login Time, Logout Time in a specific date, for example, 21.05.2009.
How should I retrieve the information? The user want to input specific date and user group then return the details that mentioned above.
I try with SUIM->Users->By Logon Date and Password Change... but I can't specific the date that I want ...
I try with SM19 (Security Audit Log), but unfortunately in my system this is not activated.
I've seek for SAP's advise, and they say need to ask abaper to developr a report in order to get such details....
Do you guys have any other methods?
Do you guys know which tables will contain the details as mentioned above?
    Best Regards,
    Ken

Unfortunately without the audit log, you're going have a hard time finding this information.  As mentioned, ST03N will give you some information.  If your systems daily workload aggregation goes back to the date you require then you'll be able to get a list of all users who logged on that day.  ST03N doesn't keep time stamps just response times.
My only idea is VERY labor intensive.  If your DB admin can retrieve a save of the database from that day then table USR02 will hold a little more information for you.  It will contain last login times for that day.  If your system backup policy happened to have saved the contents of folder "/usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/data" then you potentially have access to all the data you require.  The stat file will have recorded every transaction that took place during that day.  If that file is restored you could use program RSSTAT20 to query against it.
Good luck and turn on the audit log as it makes your life much easier!

  • How to get the total time spent by a Portal User for a given Date?

    Hello,
We need to develop a Daily Audit Track Report that displays
the Users logged into our System for a given day and the total login duration in Hours( should include all the
    Login-Logouts of a given date).
While Portal30_SSO.WWSSO_AUDIT_LOG_TABLE$ can help me get the Users login to Portal for a day, there is no Login/Logout periods in it.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Madhav

You may want to consult with the view WWLOG_ACTIVITY_LOGS. Not sure how your environment is configured, but ours includes two WWLOG_ACTIVITY_LOG tables (1 & 2). These tables purge themselves based on your configuration. In other words, Portal will log activity in WWLOG_ACTIVITY_LOG1$ for a certain period of time, then switch to WWLOG_ACTIVITY_LOG2$ while purging the first one. You can specify the purge timetable in the Adminster tab of the Admin page (under Global Settings). If you just key on just 1 log table, you're logs may someday go blank.
The actions used are 'login' and 'logout'. You can link the actions using the key_1 and key_2 columns of the view. From our current experience, Portal does not account for users that simply close the browser. In other words, we have not been able to get a log event for the action 'logout' for the same key_2 value if someone does this.
