Portal version 9.0.2.41.0

Hi,
We are currently experiencing problems with the Portal version 3.0.9.8.0 -
The Bug Number is 1844002 titled " REPORTS: MAXIMUM OF 10000 ROWS ARE DISPLAYED " in Portal.
Oracle Support in Australia explained to me that the new version of Portal 9.0.2.41.0 will have this issue eliminated.
Could you please let me know when this version of Portal becomes available.
Thanks & regards
Rosa Kamenev

Rosa,
Version 9.0.2.41.0 is an internal build number and is not a production release. The production version of Portal that shipped with 9iAS v2 is 9.0.2.2.14 and will definitely include this fix.
Thanks,
Todd

  • Migration tool Usage - Source & target portal versions

Central note for portal migration specifies that the source portal should be in SP2 Patch 5. However the note is not clear about target portal version. The situation is that we have our current portal in EP6SP2 Patch 4 and we are evaluting Netweaver portal features like collaboration with Stack 11 since Stack 9 (SR1) and Stack10 are having few problems. We obviously want to migrate portal contents in to Stack 11 to avoid upgrade down time.
1.Can we use the migration tool to migrate portal contents from SP2 Patch 5 to Stack 11 portal?.
    2. Why the source EP6Sp2 portal should be in Patch level 5. Is migration tool using any specific features of Patch 5?.  ( Since we are in EP6SP2 Patch 4, we need resources to upgrade to Patch 5, test the contents after patch 5 and live with "known issues" of patch 5 for some time before migrating).
I am sure that i am not the only persion in this situation ( Upgrade to Patch 5 -> Migrate Contents to SR1 -> Upgrade to Stack 11) . is anybody having any shortcuts to reduce the complexity of upgrading the portal to Netweaver environment?.
    Arul

    Hi,
Currently the flow you have descibed in the bottom of your post is correct. the source system must be at least EP6 SP2 Patch5.
The target system should be NW04 SR1 (no additional patches and no additional SPs). To this version you can run the migration. After the migration is done, one should upgarde to SP11.
Unfortunately, currently there is no shortcut...

Yes, we were able to resolve it.
Try first identifying if you are facing the same problem or not. So login into your portal schema on sqlplus, and see if you get any rows for the following:
    select * from wwc_version$;
If you do not see any rows, then it means that the portal user is not granted Select on wwc_version$. if that is the case, then grant it. and then try to run ptlconfig again.
    hope that helps.

  • Link to learn step by step Oracle 9i AS portal version 902

    Dear All,
due to limited budget on memory, I want to study Oracle 9i AS Portal version 9.02.
Does anybody know the link to learn how to develop portal on oracle 9.02 step by step?
    help me plz....
    Regards
    Erie

1)Portal is an integrated component of 9iAS. You need to download all of 9iAS and select the minimal install option.
2)We haven't tested this configuration, but as long as you set up apache appropriately to use different ports than the existing software it should work.
3)Portal requires 8.1.6.2 Enterprise edition or 8.1.7 Standard edition. Personal Edition will not work.

    Hi Raj Reddy,
You should have SAP market place id to get the EP versions and patch release dates. These are all available in the form pdf documents. In some documents we have to convert the weeks to corresponding years and months to guessestimate the dates.

  • Enterprise portal version file not found

During sapinst the following error message popped up:
CJS-00328 Enterprise portal version file not found. DIAGNOSIS: The enterprise portal version file was not found at the expected location (6.0.9.0.0). SAPinst cannot check for the required version <#1>. Your enterprise portal software might be too old. Solution: Update the enterprise portal version to <#1> or higher.
Where should I find this version file?
    I'm running NW04 SPS16 (Installed from SR1, and successfully updated to SPS16).

SAP Note 847491 is the solution for the problem:
    From the note:
Copy the portal version file from its current location to the place where the system copy tool looks for it.
    To do so:
    Copy the directory:
    \usr\sap\<XXX>\SYS\global\portal_versions\*.*
    to
    \usr\sap\<XXX>\JC<XX>\j2ee\portal_misc\versions
if you are running on a Unix platform make sure that all the files are owned by the j2eeadm:sapsys owner.

  • Where can I check the SAP Portal version is EP 7.0 or not?

    Hi Friends,
Where can I check if my SAP Portal version is EP 7.0.
I tried to look in Component Information: http://<hostname>:portnumber/sap/monitoring/ComponentInfo for this information but cannot track any specific information.
Can you please guide me in identfying the exact component and details associated to look out for,

I'm not looking to download just the update (I've already done that). I want to download the whole thing, in order to make a self-sufficient bootable full reinstallation flash drive for my 2011 MBA.
Yeah, you are supposed to be able to use internet recovery, if the worst happens. But there are even more worse case scenarios for which it is infinitely desireable to have an independent resource, such as a Flash Drive with all the tools one needs. I have this for my 2010 MBA, as the older 11A511 build works fine to create a complete flash boot/reinstall drive.

  • IMPORT Target Portal does not match the Source Portal version

    Hi,
Executing the import via the command line gives me the following error: Error: Target Portal does not match the Source Portal version
    Cannot proceed with Import
Checking the output of the script tells me that the portal source has version 9.0.2.6 and the target 9.0.4.0.
Does this mean that there is no backwards compatibilty?
How should I continue from here?
    Best Regards

Portal Export/Import utilities are designed only to work between Portals which are at the same version level.
For more information, please see this section in the Portal Export/Import FAQ for 9.0.2.6:
    http://portalstudio.oracle.com/pls/ops/docs/FOLDER/COMMUNITY/OTN_CONTENT/MAINPAGE/DEPLOY_PERFORM/9023_EXPORT_IMPORT_FAQ_0308.HTM#question_5
OracleAS Portal allows you to upgrade your existing content to the latest release of Portal.
What you need to do in your particular case is to upgrade your existing portal installation from 9.0.2.6 to 9.0.4 before using Portal Export/Import between your two portal instances.

  • Latest JVM 5.0 breaks Portal version 6.0

Anyone out there have experienced with the new Jvm version 5.0 for wintel platform against Portal version 6.0 (117284-07,PS6.0PC7). I Have a few keeners that installed it on a win2000/xp and they were unable to use the netlet after that. So far the fix is to rollback to a previous jvm version.

Ouch, that hurts, especially now that "java.com" and if you "auto-update" java, it will just go and install/download 1.5.0_02..
Actually to add to that, there is a known issue with IE and java 5.0 with Proxylet with JES 2004/Q2 as well. So far JES 2004/Q2 portal netlets seems to work ok with java 5 for me.

  • PDK Struts Portal Version

I understand that the Struts PDK is avaliable within version 9.0.4 and above of the JPDK, however, are there any Oracle Portal version limitations? In other words, does this only work with Oracle 10gAS Portal or will it also work with Oracle 9iAS Portal?
    Regards,
    Jack

Yes, you can register your 9.0.4 Web providers with 9.0.2 Portal. You have to deploy your Web provider to OC4J 9.0.4, though.
Also, the 9.0.4-specific PDK features will not work.
