Portfolio and fill forms

Hi,
I have 2 questions,
1.
How do i fill the fillforms in a pdf attatced in a portfolio. I dont need to save it, just send the filld to an email or printer.
2.
How do i change autosave on pdf's. When fill out a pdf it autosaves it. I tryed writeprotecting the pdf but dident help.
i have tried it on a Samsung Galaxy tab 2, Galaxy s3, Xcover 1 and Xcover 2

Gaurav,
Looks like you would have to play around with the permissions to resolve this.
1.In the PCD, where you find the Project Management and Portfolio Management folder, right click and open permissions, ensure you add the everyone group there and have the enduser checked.
2. In the system administration-system configuration-system folder, check if you have any system created for the Project Management and Portfolio Management, right click and open the permissions, ensure you add the everyone group there and have the enduser checked.
This should help resolve the issue with out the super admin role
Good Luck,
Cheers!

  • Scan and fill form using Acrobat 6.0

How can I scan hardcopy of a form, save as PDF, open the form in Acrobat 6.0, and fill in the blanks (fields)?

    Thanks Dave.
I'm aware that my 6.0 acrobat is way out of date.  But I thought I created a fillable form a few years ago using it.  But in that case it probably was a PDF going into the process, not a scanned form.  Also, I was using vista at the time and now have win 7/64bit.
I'll try the OCR routine but your post suggests what I suspected, that I can't get to where I'm going from here.

As Acrobat 6 went out of support / obsolete many years ago you'll want to be sure the OS is compatible and the scanner software is compatible.
Use Acrobat's create PDF from scanner feature (review the Help file if needed, the Help PDF was installed when Acrobat 6 was installed).
So, you'll now have that PDF.
But, it is not yet a form PDF.
The scanner output is an image so you have an image / a picture as the PDF page content.
You may want to use Acrobat's OCR feature to provide a hidden layer of renderable characters.
Use Acrobat's form tools to build your form. As Acrobat 6 is long ago gone by I don't recall if it had a "form wizard". Check the Help PDF.
    Be well...

  • Editing and Filling Forms in PDF's

I looked around this discussions area and noticed one person saying that I can use Adobe Acrobat to edit PDF files. Will this also let me fill in forms? Here is my situation, I'm downloading several contracts in PDF format and it has blank spaces all over the place. Does Acrobat automatically know these are blanks to be filled out or do I have to go through and tell the application where I want text added?
Also, are there any free apps that will let me do this exact thing? Thanks.

The form boxes must be in the PDF document. If they are not, you can add them using the form tools in the full version of Acrobat. But the process is not automatic. You have to place them in the proper place.
Most image editing applications will allow you to put text boxes over an image file. This will work if you want to fill in those places yourself, but will not make a file that others can fill in.

  • How do I print a interactive form out? It allows printing and filling.

Hi, I'm trying to print out an interactive form that I filled out and then saved on my hard drive. The author allows printing and filling out of the PDF when it was created. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and have Adobe Reader XI (11.0.06) installed along with the current drivers for my compatible printer. Within the same PDF the first sheet "instruction sheed" is an all text flat form, which prints just fine. The problem lies when I try to print other sections of the PDF, When I try to print it all I get is the header and a footer that the author created, but all the spaces where questions/ text and my fill in answers don't show up on the print preview image or when the printed sheet comes out of my printer.
I have tried to print as an image without success. I don't think its an author issuse because it was released out of a California Department for several houndred/thousands of others. Please if you have any ideas or questions i look forward to any advice.

Sorry I forgot to add that the PDF is devided by a "Chapter" style cover face that devided multiple sets of forms in to categories. At the bottome of these categories is a "Print whole document" which can only be clicked once the whole thing has been filled out. Do to some information over lap some dates don't follow the (time line order) it requirest to fill in the data so two of the categories show up as incomplete. Take a look at the document yourself, maybe I NEED to rewrite the information and see if that works.
*Edit* Looks like I CAN print a blank form at the begining when it asked me if i want a blank form, will try to rearange dates so it will show as all COMPLET.
PDF file can be found at the California government website:

  • Any limitation on number of fill and print forms I can post on my website and have external users with Reader fill in, print and mail to me? (I don't need/want them to be able to fill and save data.)

I would like to post fillable only forms to the public but not give them the option to save or email the filled in form. If they want a copy of what they've filled in, they must print it.
I believe I can do this by just creating a fillable PDF and posting it without adding any reader extension capabilities. I also believe there is no limitation, as there is for fill and save forms as per this other post I read: Adobe Acrobat X Pro * Enable Reader users to save form data.
My IT department is telling me they will not allow me to post fillable PDFs online due to a "license limitation" so I started researching this myself, and the above link is the only thing I've found. While that post specifically outlines the limitations on saving filled in forms, I'm really looking for something that specifically tells me that there is no limitation on fillable, non-saveable (yes, I know that's not a word...) forms.
If anyone can provide additional information for me, I'd appreciate it. Or, if I'm completely wrong in my belief and there's a limitation either way, feel free to set me straight. I'd rather know the correct answer than be right!
    Thanks!!

If you don't Reader-enable a document, then there are no licensing restrictions involved. Note that Reader 11 and all versions of Acrobat are able to save non-enabled forms, unlike previous versions.
The question should not be whether a form is savable, but rather whether you used Acrobat to add usage rights to the form AND you (the licensee) plan on receiving filled-in instances (including hardcopies) of it. The simplest way is to not Reader-enable the form and convince your users to use Reader 11 (or Acrobat) if they want to save.

The add annotations field shows as not allowed in the security options. So how do I send this form back with the changes??

I think you you need to click 'save' first, then it is saved to acrobat, where it will prompt to send.

  • How do I edit a "fill and print form" using Acrobat XI?

We recently upgraded to Adobe Acrobat Pro, version 11. We have some staff who previously created "fill and print" forms with Adobe Acrobat 10. However, now when they try to use version 11 to edit the form, they receive the following message: This form cannot be edited in Acrobat. Please use Adobe LiveCycle Designer to edit this form.
If I remember correctly, version 10 (or some package suite) use to install LiveCycle along with version 10. This doesn't seem to be the case with version 11. So... How do we obtain LiveCycle Designer? Is it still available to install on a desktop or is it only available in the cloud?  Or, preferably, is there a way to edit the form using Acrobat Pro version 11?
I don't work with Adobe forms myself, so any information you can provide will be extremely helpful. Thanks.

LCD forms can only be edited in LCD. However, Adobe stopped distributing LCD together with Acrobat. You need to purchase it separately now, but if you had a previous license you can get it at a large discount, I think. Try the LCD forums for more info about that.

  • I just downloaded a pdf form and need to open it and fill in blanks but can't figure ohow to find the file

I just downloaded a pdf form and need to open it and fill in blanks but how can I find the file in Adobe so I can open it??
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi Steve Odem,
If you downloaded the file from a web page, it most likely went into a Downloads folder on your computer. If you don't know where that folder is, the easiest thing to do may be to use the Find feature of Mac OS or Windows (whichever you use), to search for the PDF form. Once you know where the file ended up, you can easily navigate to that folder in Reader. (Choose File > Open in Reader, then navigate to the file in the Open dialog box.)
Please let us know if you have additional questions.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Problems with filling out/going back and editing filled out information and signing forms

Users cannot fully fill out, edit and save forms--
the forms were set up in InDesign CS6, then edited in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for all the form info and after that was set up the forms were saved as extended pdfs to allow adobe reader users to fill them out and sign.
The users are having all kinds of issues with the forms and its been difficult to pin point the exact cause.
    Here are 2 errors:
This document enabled extended features in Adobe reader. This document has been changed since it was created and use of extended features is no longer available. Please contact the author for the original version of this document.
The security settings on this document prevent adding text and/or placing a signature on it from Adobe Reader. To fill out and sign this document you need to print it out.
---I've checked the security on the form and there is no security not allowing them to fill it out and I believe that originally they were able to but the form was saved and then they went back and were unable to edit it. I need to know if its something I need to do on my end or an instruction I need to give to them--steps to filling out and saving programs vesions to use etc..
sorry for some of the holes in the info. the form was created for a client and they sent it out to their employees so I do not have direct contact with the people having the issues just two screenshots, and I have not been able to find an answer that works--this is what I thought would help but it didnt:
    It should solve the signature/adding text  issue—From : http://forums.adobe.com/thread/987256
Your user should go to Extended pane in Reader to apply a digital signature to the Reader extended PDF.
The user is probably trying to use the Sign pane in Reader which has some options disabled according to the document permissions. The new Sign pane in Reader is an integration with Adobe EchoSign service in the sense that it enables an end user to fill-up documents, electronically sign and then send a PDF document, without having the need to print them. The Sign pane provides two options to the user:
1 - Fill and Sign: Here the user can place text using 'Add Text'. Users can add arbitrary text to a PDF, eg. in documents where Reader cannot interact with the document even though the document looks like a form, in forms where user cannot save the filled-up form. In such cases the only option a user has is to print the form, fill it and then fax or fedex the filled up document to the author or scan it and send it electronically. Using the Sign pane in Reader, a user can add text and also electronically sign the document (this is not the same as digital signature) using an image of their signature. He can create a 'signature' from a scanned paper which has user's handwritten signature and place it on the PDF.
2 - Send for Signature: Here the user is sent to EchoSign for collecting signatures from others.

You will get that first message when the document has been changed in a way that invalidates the internal digital signature that's applied when a document is Reader-enabled. Certain changes are allowed (e.g., filling fields, commenting, signing) and will not invalidate the signature, but others are not. The exact cause of the change is often hard to track down, but it can be due to font problems, some type of file corruption, or something that Acrobat/Reader attempts to correct when the file is opened/saved. You will also get the message if the users system time is not correct and is currently set to some time before the document was Reader-enabled. It seems best to use the most recent version of Acrobat to enabled the documents and recent versions of Reader to work with them.
It problem is probably not related to the user using anything in the Sign pane.

  • Fill and save form in Acrobat Reader + checkbox problem

I use Acrobat Pro X to create fillable forms and then save the file as Reader Extended PDF - Enable Additional Features, and when I want to open it and fill it in in Acrobat Reader, I get a pop-up saying I can only save it as a blank document.
Another issue I'm having is that when I fill it in Preview and save it, everything saves except the checkboxes, they are always blank.
Could this be because I'm using Mac OS X Lion?

I'm sure I open the one that I save as enabled version but it does sound like the file is just being saved as a regular PDF. Here is the screenshot below of the security settings, I'm not sure exactly what the enabled version is supposed to show.
And here is the message I'm getting:

    Hello Graphicsguy123,
You would need to first create the form ( or Widget in EchoSign) first to generate a url which you can paste it in the email being sent to customers. You would need to make sure you have a Document Cloud Enterprise Premium account in order to create a Widget. If you don't have the account, you can use the trial version to test it. • I am living in a country where there is no credit card system. Though I have opened ID, whenever I sign in, it always says that I need to review my account. If I bought iTunes gift card and filled the form, will it be OK?

If I buy iTunes gift card and fill the form, do I still need to fill credit card information and will I be able to access iTunes and apple store?

    Look for a None option in the Payment Methods;
If you do not have one you will have to supply a bank card or redeem an iTunes Gift Card.

How do I do this - is it at all possible with adobe?

Those requirements are go way beyond what PDF forms can do and are meant for, some of them would require involving other programs or are mutually exclusive and contradictory. You are wasting your time even thinking about doing this as an "offline" PDF form. Simply sign up for an online forms/ survey service like FormsCentral or Surveymonkey.
