Ports used by APPS
Hi All,
I am Using Apps R12
RDBMS : 10.2.0.2.0
Oracle Applications : 12.0.2
Form Version : 12.0.14
How can I know what are the TCP Ports used by Oracle Apps.
Thanks
Regards
Sagb
You can get a list of ports from OAM as well:
1) Go to OAM Home page
2) In the Applications System Status table, click the link of the app or db server in the HOST column.
3) On the page Oracle Applications Hosts: <your_hostname>, click the "View configuration" button.

Porting a Workshop app to another J2EE server?
Hello all. I'm new to WL Workshop and have been reading abou the required Workshop
Runtime. Is this something that could be ported to another J2EE compliant server?
I noticed the PageFlow Portability Kit for the page flows... but what about the
Runtime engine itself?
Also, does anyone know what is contained in it or how it is deployed. If its as
simple as a jar that could be moved over that would be nice... but I doubt its
as simple as that. thanks!Blake--
The "Runtime Engine" that you mention is the Workshop controls
runtime. Carl Sjogreen addresses portability in a post in this
newsgroup from 9/24/2003. Instead of rephrasing his comments, I've
pasted them below and suggest the "Application portability" thread as
good reading.
Controls fall into the class of artifacts that can be built using
Workshop but which are not 100% portable today. This includes controls
like the Database Control and EJB Control. Remember, though, that
controls are often abstractions over standard J2EE technologies; in the
case of these controls for example, the underlying technologies are just
JDBC Prepared / Callable Statements and existing EJBs.
The portable version of Page Flows does not support controls, but it
does support all of the J2EE technologies such as JDBC, JNDI, EJB, and
so on.
Hope that helps...

::::: Application Portability from 9/24/2003 by Carl Sjogreen
John --
Good question. We're constantly pulled between delivering innovation
and value to our customers and ensuring that the applications we build
are standards based and portable. Here's what we are doing to address this:
1) You can always build 100% standard based applications in Workshop
that are as portable as any other J2EE application. Write Java files,
use EJBgen to create EJBs, etc.
2) Where we innovate, we innovate on top of existing standards. Witness
what we are doing with Pageflows, which is built on top of Struts. As
Web Services standards mature (JSR 109 in particular) we'll move JWS
files to support 109 deployment artifacts.
3) We are aggressively pursuing standardization, portability, and open
source for innovations we introduce. A few proof points:
* The key innovations behind JWS files are being standardized as part of
the Java Community Process in JSR 181. When this standard goes final
(early next year hopefully) you'll be able to take your JWS files to
other platforms.
* We will provide "portability kits". In SP2 (due later this year)
we'll provide a portability kit so you can take any pageflow file and
run it on other J2EE containers. This basically includes a set of stand
alone build tools and the few runtime classes we've added on top of struts.
* We've open sourced key technologies like XMLBeans. XMLBeans is now
being incubated as part of the Apache Software Foundation
(http://xml.apache.org/xmlbeans).
So I think you'll find that while not everything you build in Workshop
is 100% portable today, a lot is, and more will be down the road.
Any questions, please let me know.
Best,
-Carl

Raj,
Thanks for forwarding this on to your Product Managers.
Application portability is one of the big selling points for Java, so
it would be a shame if Bea did not have runtime licenses for deploying
the workshop runtimes on any J2EE certified app-server. I don't think
my company has any problems in paying for quality software, but they do
have problems when the "Write once, run anywhere" Java pledge is broken
(since that's what sold them on Java vs. .Net in the first place).
Having said that, I really applaud what Bea has done so far. For
example, Bea's donation of XmlBeans to Apache was a truly great thing.
Blake wrote:
Eddie,
The "Weblogic Workshop Internals" document also talks about the "Runtime Engine".
Here is a blurb from the top of the doc: "<contains> a runtime infrastructure
that supports application features; the runtime consists of J2EE components deployed
on WebLogic Server "
Later in the doc they mention some EJB's such as the SynchBean and AsyncBean which
utilize JMS. This is the info I need to provide my client if they decide to port
to another app server. We now know that the webapp is portable... its the J2EE
components that is the final piece of the puzzle. thanks!

I am trying to use the "App Store" on my Macbook Pro but it will not allow me to open the program. It automatically says, "App Store has closed unexpectedly." Whenever I tell it to reopen, the exact same messege pops up. My computer has all of the latest updates from Apple.
I tried deleting the program then running the software update to try to get the program again but it did not work. Where can I manual download the actual app store program, or fix the one that I have.
Thanks in advance.

How can I use Messages app on non-Verizon phone?
Hi. I have two phones: A VZW personal phone and a T-Mobile phone from my employer. I wish to carry only one device when I'm at work (my T-Mobile work phone) but I wish to be able to get texts from my personal VZW number on that phone. I know I can't forward texts, so I installed the Verizon Messages Android app on my work phone, but I can't set it up with my VZW number (I figured it should work because I was able set it up on my tablet at home and it works fine there).
After I install the app on the non-Verizon phone, I open it and I get a screen asking me if I want to use the app for my default messaging app. If I click no, the app closes without giving me a chance to set it up with my personal account like it did when I installed it on my tablet.
I also noticed after I installed it, it's called Messages+ instead of Messages. Are they the same thing?Hi, has this been resolved? I am in a very similar situation and need the app to work on my new Sprint LG G3 exactly the way it operated on my Sprint iPhone 5S. Here is how it worked on my Sprint iPhone: downloaded the VZ Messages app, followed the prompts to tie it into my work Verizon Galaxy S5 number, and started to receive texts sent to my S5 on my iPhone but in the separate VZ Messages app and not in the native iPhone messages app.
But when I install the VZ Messages app on my Sprint LG G3, it only asks if I want to "Change default message app? Use Message+ instead of Messaging as your default message application?" That is not what I want so I tap "Cancel" and the app closes. I am not prompted with the opportunity to tie it to my Verizon S5 number like I was on the iPhone. The ability to have the VZ Messages app on my Sprint LG G3 along side the native G3 messaging app, the exact same way it worked on my Sprint iPhone, is very important and the whole reason I switched from AT&T to Verizon for my work phone. -
i was using an app while the battery ran over, then when i recharged my ipod, i can no longer open that app anymore. Why?
No idea why.
What have you tried to solve?
Have you tried the basics from the manual?
restart, reset, restore.
Have you tried removing the app, tehn adding it back? -
My ipod 4th gen screen kept jumping this morning. Had to do a restore to factory conditions and it is working fine now. However, it originally had a factory installed Nike+ app on it and it did not install with the restore. I use this app daily with the running chip to log my workouts. Anyone know how to get this app back from Apple? Loading the Nike app from the app store is not the same thing as you need gps running continually for it to work (as with an iphone). Can't have that with my ipod unless I'm connected to wifi. Help?? Thanks.
If you go to Settings do you see an entry for the Nike app? There is no way to delete or hide that app?
Have you tired using the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find it.
Next would be to restore a gain. First from backup then next to factory settings/new iPod.
The Nike app you can download/install
Nike+ Running for iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad on the iTunes App Store
Does work on the iPOd. You just do not get all the information that GPS/cellular connection can get. You will still be able to get distance/footstrikes like the installed app an you do not need the shoe sensor.. It uses the built-in sensors on the iPod -
My issue is that I can't find a way to have the camera switched off when the app is open and so this means if I want the app open all day to receive calls then the camera is going to be on the whole time. Even if it didn't potentially drain the battery, or add to the CPU usage or whatever else may cause any problems whatsoever (wheel of death!), I just don't want the camera on as I don't see myself ever wanting to use the video call feature but I would use the audio/call multiple times throughout the day to make and receive calls. The camera being on when the app is open is enough to prevent me from using the app. Also ever since seeing that episode of criminal minds where if you saw the green light on above the screen then it meant the killer was watching you!
Basically I just can't believe there isn't a way to disable the camera whilst having the app running. I know when initiating an audio call the camera goes away, but I would like the camera away the whole time. To me it just would make sense that if you click the video option then the camera is on, and if you click the audio option then the camera goes off. It just seems waaaaay to basic a thought for apple to have missed... Let's face it, we're not all as pretty as the people in the apple adverts and don't want to see our ugly mugs staring back as us when we work all day at our macs!I have exactly the same concern. It seems it would be a simple fix for Apple to allow users to turn off the camera (and even the mic) while keeping FaceTime open -- especially now that it turns out FaceTime must remain open in order to send and receive iPhone calls on a Mac.
I like to think this new functionality of FaceTime will be baked into a future release of Yosemite, as the current setup has that not-quite-finished feel of a work in progress. In the meantime, there's nothing like a little piece of Post-It stuck over the camera to keep the NSA from watching your face as you type a post to the Apple Support Communities. -
How do I use iPhone apps on my Macbook Pro?
Okay, so I have always wondered if there are any apps that are used regularly on iPhones that can be downloaded onto my Macbook Pro. I tried to find an answer to this and discovered this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US which explains there is a way to download previous purchased apps on the computer so I followed the steps and downloaded some. Now this may be a stupid question, but does this just mean that I can now transfer these apps onto another device from my macbook, or can I actually use these apps in some way on a large, macbook monitor. If so how do I do this, and if not- I think it would be a brilliant idea for apple to make this an option in the future!
Thanks for any help, I'm still working out some of the basics as a first time Mac user!hi
you cannot, for example:
I had to buy a separate Pages, Numbers app on my iPad...
so there is an app for ipad/iphone/ipod and another for Macs....
so the answer is no... -
How do I use the App store with macbook pro and mac pro
I currently use the app store with the mac book, but want to buy (share?) apps and music with the mac pro.
I can't find anything that specifically outlines how this works.
I use SplashID with the macbook and an iPhone, and want to use it (and sync it) on the mac pro as well.
If you buy apps for a macbook, can you use them on a second machine, or do you need to buy it a second time?Your license from the MAS allows you to download and install the apps on as many Macs as you own or have under your control (institutional or employer supplied Macs.) The Mac should to be running Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or Mac OS X 10.7.2 Lion. Open the MAS app on the Mac Pro and sign into your account to have access to download all of your previous purchases in the Purchased pane.
Simple apps can also be dragged & dropped over a network connection from the MacBook to the Mac Pro. -
I've used "Moneypad" app to record my financial transaction for over a year and I got an update today. After updating all the icons where misplaced and there were a lot of bugs in the app. The update said "Restore original app icon". So I decided to delete it and reinstall the app but now i couldn't find the application in the itunes store both through my Macbook air and my iphone 5. What do I do now?? how can a purchased app go missing? Is it even legal to delete apurchased app from the itunes store?? What happened to my money and the worst part is my records cant be used in anyother application but "Moneypad". There were 2 version of the app in the store. One was free and the other One was paid. The free app is still there but the paid One is gone!! Please respond to this issue as soon as possible! I need it to record my daily transactions or it would mess up my work a lot! Thankyou.
I did buy it long back! and now,I downloaded the free version and it requires me to buy it again to make it pro. and NO I dont have a copy of the application with me! I juz have the backup of the app data with me! and "
MoneyPad√ " is the trial version. The original version which was Rs.220 in India when i got it was named "MoneyPad" without the mathematical symbol. Please is there any way i could get that application back?? I purchased the application and i've got all rights to own it! and what do you mean by "App developers can remove their apps from the store at any time"? So Can I upload some stupid app claiming to be something else and costing around $100 and delete it as soon as someone purchases it?? -
My iPhone 5 won't let me use my apps until I connect them with iTunes after downloading ios7. There's just a thing that pops up and says that in order to activate banners and push notifications I have to connect the app with iTunes. The thing won't go away no matter how many times I push ok, and it doesn't give me another option. Solutions?
Oh my gosh I had the EXACT same problem, and for ages I couldn't figure out how to fix it until today. Here's what I did:
First I went onto my computer, opened itunes, and un-installed tumblr, vine and kik. These were the apps I was having problems with (it said I had them on my phone but, like you, they didn't show).
Then I went to the itunes store, searched for each one, and it said I could update them so I did (just FYI: for tumblr a window popped up saying "please click ok to confirm you are 17 years or older", so I did that also)
When I went back to my phone and tried installing them again (still on my computer), it worked!
I hope this helps, because it was incredibly frustrating. Good luck! -
I can't get my apps to sync on my new iPhone 3gs. This happened on a previous iPhone and never was resolved. Could there be a conflict with some settings on my computer? I want to use my apps!!!
Click 6 here > iOS: Resolving update and restore alert messages
Could be your security software preventing the sync to finish. -
I want to use free apps on Ipad 2, but it continually asks me to submit a credit card in Itunes. I do not wish to purchase anything apps or music. I am only interested in free apps. If I were to make purchases, I would use a prepaid card like an itunes card or an app card, but NEVER a credit card. I can't seem to bypass this option of using a credit card and need to. I have another Ipad 4 and have never needed to use my credit card to migrate past itunes to use any apps. How do I get past this credit card request and still use my ipad 2. According to my Ipad 2, if I don't plug in a credit card, I can't even use free apps which is stupid.
You can create an iTune and App Store account without credit card details
1. Sign out of current Apple ID if you are sign-in to one (important)
2. Go to App Store and select a free app
3. Tap INSTALL APP
4. Create New Apple ID
5. Confirm Your Country
6. Agree with Terms and Conditions
7. Fill in your Apple ID and Password (you must create a new Apple ID; don't use your old Apple ID)
8. Create and answer your secret question
9. Select NONE for Payment Method
10. Fill in Billing Address
11. Submit application for new Apple ID
12. Wait for verification email
13. When email arrive, verify your account
14. Start downloading your free apps -
I am Timewarner cable, and trying to use their app in order to watch tv on my computer. (My cable box is broken) At timewarner cable, they say I need version 4 of firefox, but I have checked with my version and it says I am up to date, and it is version 30.0. What can I do? Thanks for your help!
Firefox 4 was referring to the old [http://website-archive.mozilla.org/www.mozilla.org/firefox_releasenotes/en-US/firefox/4.0/releasenotes/ 4.0 (four.zero) released back on March 2011] as the current version is [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/30.0/releasenotes/ Firefox 30.0 (thirty.zero) released June 10, 2014].

When I go to update my software using the app store download, it always asks for the previous user's ID, not mine (my IT guy at school's-I am a faculty with admin priviledges). I have signed in as me, have set the main preferences login user as me,and everywhere on the laptop I can use my apple ID except here. It always shows me a greyed out ID of my IT. How can I reset this to my ID? It doesn't give me an option to change the user ID, only a link to reset password. I reset it, but it did not change the problem. Can someone help me?
It's not an ID problem, it's an ownership problem.
When someone uses their personal Apple ID to buy and download content, the content is licensed to them and has their Apple ID engrained in it's DNA. It is an anti-piracy program. And when that personal Apple ID is used to setup a new Mac, it involves the Mac itself, the shipping OS and any pre-installed apps as well.
It's not the correct way to handle Macs that belong to a business or an institution. And had it been handled correctly they would not now be in this predictument needing a drastic remedy.
