Positioning an image which is a link

Using Oracle 11.2, Apex 4.1.0.00.32, Windows 7 Enterprise, IE 8, Theme 17 Sapphire with unmodifed Reports Region and Standard Reports templates.
I have a report region of type SQL Query.  (I hope that's the correct way to identify it.)  I have controlled display width and padding for various items in the report using an HTML Expression like: [span style="padding: 8px 0px 0px 0px; width: 60px; display: block; white-space: normal;"]#RUN_DT#[/span] for the RUN_DT item/column.
Note: I've substituted [ ] for the &lt &gt brackets in the above.  This approach has worked well for all but the first column of the report which is the pencil-paper image for Edit.
Question:  What do I put in the Link Text or Link Attributes to position the "EDIT" image as I have positioned the other data items?  In Link Text, I have: '[img src="# IMAGE_PREFIX #e2.gif" padding="50px" border="0" ]'.  The link works but the image is not positioned on the line so as to align with the other items.  Of course, I have tried many variants there and in Link Attributes.  The only thing I am able to effect is image width.  I found no combination of "padding," "cellpadding," or "padding-top" which had an effect on position.  There is so little documentation on the Link Text field (that I am able to access), that it's hard to know what attributes can go there or how to format them.
Has anyone had success changing the position (up/down, left/right) of the edit image on the data line?
Thanks,
Howard

I am able to adjust the padding-top of regular items but have to use some other technique with items which are LINKS.  I tried putting "padding", "padding-top", etc. into the Link Text but with no effect.  This the wrong approach or the attibute is being overridden, I suppose.
(bump - This is probably easy but how to "know" which particular technique will work escapes me.)
Several issues there.
On the APEX side of things, inline link styling and other attributes to be applied to column links are entered using the Link Attributes property in the Column Link section of the column attributes, not any of the other attribute/class/style properties on that page.
In the CSS, center is not a valid value for vertical-align. The inconsistent value middle is used instead. However, both a and img are inline elements, so vertical-align: middle won't do what you want anyway. To achieve vertical centering of the link within the report row, this has to be applied to the report table cell using a style sheet in the page Inline CSS property:
#bps-runtm .report-standard td[headers="ROWID"] {
  vertical-align: middle;

    does an image which is linked to an illustrator file have to be scaled correctly in size, or will it automatically rescale to itself to the placeholder image size?

    Consider using the report generation tools.  If I remember correctly they're available, in limited form, in all LabVIEW editions; the optional add-on makes it possible to generate reports in Office, but since you don't have Office installed that's irrelevant to you.  It makes it easy to generate a printable report.
    Also, there's no need for the sequence structure in your block diagram.

  • How Do I Combine Several Images Into One Image Which Contains Links To A Series Of Web Sites?

    How do I combine several images into one such that the combined image contains a series of web links? In particular, I’d like to create such an image and put it into my Outlook email signature. At present, as per the image below, I have at least six separate images in my email signature with each image containing a web link. Is Photoshop the best tool for this job? Or would it be easier to do this in some other package? I have three packages at my disposal: Photoshop, Ilustrator and Dreamweaver. Can someone please explain in detail how I would do this? Or perhaps someone could direct me to a link that explains how to do this. Thank you.

    Thank you for that correction, Hobotor. I admit I hadn't thought about an image map, in the context of someone who doesn't seem to know HTML very well...  My thinking was running along the use of the Photoshop Slice Tool to get most of the way there...
    To expand on the above, if you were to slice up your image using the Slice Tool, say like this:
    Save for Web & Devices will create the HTML and save all the sub-images.
    Then you edit the HTML and add a (hypertext link) elements surrounding the various images.  Only thing is you'll have to set the border-style of the images to none.
    For example:
    <!-- Save for Web Slices () -->
    <table id="Table_01" width="554" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <img id="Sig_01" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_01.jpg" width="554" height="56" alt="" /></td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
      <td colspan="10">
       <a href="http://www.GrahamsWebSite.com"><img id="Sig_02" style="border-style:none" src="images/Sig_02.jpg"
            width="554" height="43" alt="" /></a></td>
    </tr>
    etc.
    A full copy of the HTML and images can be found here...  View Source to see it as an example:

  • Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support image which has been converted to a PDF to be edited?

    Hi,
    Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional support the content of an image which has been converted to a PDF file to be edited?
    Sometimes when I try to edit the content of a PDF file which was created by converting an image into a PDF file, I notice that Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional tells me that this Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional cannot support this content.
    On the other hand, even if Adobe Acrobat professional could edit a PDF file, I notice that there are far too many restrictions to edit the content, for example, if your new editing words are more than the old then the line goes out the page instead of going to a new line. In addition, if you reached to the end of a line, and then you press 'Enter' to let the rest of words of the last line be written  on the next line, you notice that the words  writes on the words of  line which follows the line which is being edited. As a result, the text would be quite crazy.
    Any comments would be highly appreciated

  • Images disappear out of Links palette

    I have an InDesign document, one of several that were created from scratch. I just discovered that in this document over half the images are now not listed in the Links palette. I placed the images (tifs) originally using Place.
    Clicking on images, which appear normally on the page, using either selection tool does not make the name appear in the palette.
    If I use the Package command, it does not copy the missing images. The Preflight command does indicate that there are "embedded" images (but of course doesn't give me the names so I can't easily go back and find/relink them!). There ARE 11 images in the document (Tifs and a few .psd images) that are appearing as normal in the palette.
    So far none of the other similar documents I've worked on over the last month or so have this problem. I tried resetting the prefs and removing/recreating the Cache files. (house/Library/Cashes/AdobeInDesign.
    Any ideas 1) how to fix; or 2) what happened, so I can avoid having it happen again?
    How come this stuff always happens when you're on a big deadline?

    >Only if your network is unstable. For most groups, it's not only
    acceptable but in fact is the only way to work especially if there's an
    InCopy element to the workflow.
    This will always come back to bite you eventually. Maybe not today and maybe not even this year, but eventually.
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jnack/2008/06/filesaving_issu.html
    Why not set up a good system to deal with file check-outs instead? We link directly to all of the graphics across the network, but the actual InDesign files that are going to be edited and saved are all edited locally after check-out.
    Just my $.02 on the matter...
    EDIT: Oops, I see you tried the INX export already! Were these files perhaps pasted directly into InDesign? If so, you can copy them out and save them as graphics and relink to the graphics, but otherwise they are just a part of the file.

    You cannot. But you can prevent it from tiling with CSS.

    It's not necessary to have it on both the <a> and the
    <li> tags.

  • Lightbox 2 -size & position of  image

    By default, the new image opens in the centre of the page and
    is cropped to a default size. How can I adjust the code so that it
    opens at a specific location and expands to specific size, please?
    I want to use the code for single images of same size and to open
    always at the same location..

    thanks. they have a forum, named huddletogether, but that is
    pretty well useless. Although same problem has been posted many
    times, the developer and others have not replied.... Apparently,
    the developer is TOO BUSY to attend to trivia like replying to
    questions about his OWN product. Pretty poor... I say...Not
    everyone wants the box to open in the centre of the page..:-((
    Hence my post here, in hope that someone might have the solution?
    UPDATE at 16.00gmt. I have played around with the code in the
    lightbox.js file. Line 237 has a line :
    this.lightbox.setStyle({ top: lightboxTop + 'px', left:
    lightboxLeft + 'px' }).show();
    I have added couple values, which position the image exactly
    where I want it. As:
    this.lightbox.setStyle({ top:160+ 'px',
    left:(-100+lightboxLeft)+ 'px' }).show();
    However, I am still looking for the code which gets the
    image's dimensions.... Maybe, there is no such a thing, as the
    enlarged images are always shown the same size; they are
    increased/decreased to the default value...
    Any ideas, please?
    UPDATE: That's all sorted. But as a result, the 'close' and
    'load' images are now showing far, far too big and in wrong
    position...

    I wanted the image rather than the link to appear on my page. The link is from my database which is

  • Positioning an image in an AP element of an editable region

    This is the current scenario:
    <div id="graphix">

                </div>
    Is there an elegant CSS method of positioning the image instead of using <br>? I tried putting a <div> around the image to control its position. It seemed like a good idea  but that utterly failed.
    Any suggestions or should I just stick to the primitive but effective <br>? It at least works, not pretty but does the job.
    Branko

    Once you have one image in place the next one down will take its position according to margin-top: XXpx; (see inline css example below style="margin-top: 60px;")
    <img src="image_1.jpg" width="600" height="450" />
    <img src="image_2.jpg" style="margin-top: 60px;" width="600" height="450" />
    EDIT: You'll probably need to use display: block as well (see below) if your container which holds the images is more than twice the width of the image. If you don't the images will just line up side-by-side until no more space is available at which point they will start another line.
    <img src="image_1.jpg" width="300" height="220" />
    <img src="image_2.jpg" style="margin-top: 60px; display: block;" width="300" height="220" />
    <img src="image_3.jpg" style="margin-top: 80px; display: block;" width="300" height="220" />

  • How do you link images that have no link to begin with?

    Im working with a file created by someone else.  I have seen this before but there are no links in the links window for a lot of the images that I click.  I have found this can happen when doing a copy/paste of an image from a website, photoshop, etc...  Is there a way to give these images an actual link so I dont have to go through and drop in the actual image and resize it all from scratch to make it fit with the non-linked image?

    It's not quite that bad... you can script this. For instance, this oneline script:
    app.selection[0].graphics[0].place(File.openDialog())
    operates on a selected image (such as one copy-and-pasted, though it would also work with a properly placed image) and opens a file dialog and lets you select a new image which is then placed in it, preserving the scale. Can't do anything about the crop though.
    Does that help? Do you need more automation? Or explanation how to use it?

    Give your UL a width/height that matches the dimensions of
    the rectangle
    (style it with "position:relative"), then use
    "position:absolute" to
    position each one of the LI.
