Give your UL a width/height that matches the dimensions of
the rectangle
(style it with "position:relative"), then use
"position:absolute" to
position each one of the LI.

  • Positioning multiple images at bottom of Div Tag

    I want to position some images so they are side by side, at
    the bottom of a div tag. So far the only way i've managed to do
    this is by using a padding-top value. Is there a better way?
    I also want these images to be centered horizontally.
    Thanks

    Are these cosmetic in use? Make them a single image
    background.
    #foo { background-position: center bottom;
    background-repeat:no-repeat; }

  • How to place multiple images in batch with drop shadow effects on room backgrounds at the same position?

    I want to place multiple images of hand paintings with drop shadow effects on room backgrounds to make them look as if the paintings are hanged on the room walls. I know how to do it one by one, but that takes time and I want to do it in batch at once.
    I am quite a beginner for adobe photoshop CS6. I belive such an automated task is possible through 'Automated Batch' function and/or 'Create Droplet' function. Kindly share your expert opinion.

    If you want to go with Batch I would recommend creating an Action of more or less these steps:
    • set the resolution to the same as the background image’s
    • change the image from Background Layer to regular Layer if necessary
    • convert it to a Smart Object
    • add a Drop Shadow Layer Style to the image (do not use Global Angle)
    • place the background image (File > Place …)
    • move it behind the image layer
    • Image > Reveal All
    • make Selection from that layer’s transparency (cmd-click its icon in the Layers Panel) and use Image > Crop
    • select and transform the image layer to fit the intended position
    This would naturally work out best if the images had the same size and proportions.
    For the reflection on the floor duplicate the image, flip it vertically, move it in position and reduce its opacity to maybe 10%.
    Realistically you may have to hide it partially behind the pillows, a Vector Mask would be an option.

  • How do I stop iWeb outputting multiple image files? It makes my site slow!

    I'm a professional web designer (but don't let that put you off) who uses Dreamweaver and also handcodes HTML & CSS websites at work on a PC, but having got a new Mac for home use I thought I'd give iWeb a go for a personal site hosted on .Mac, showcasing my music and film efforts, that I didn't want to have to think about coding.
    I've built a short little site using the attractive 'Travel' theme, just 5 or 6 pages so far, and have not yet added any multimedia content. However, it seemed to take ages to upload it when I published it to .Mac. So then I went to view it, and it was soooo sloooow to download each page, even on my 4mb cable connection. I know it's a fairly graphically-rich theme, but still!
    I noticed that it was redrawing the navigation menu each time... and upon close inspection of the HTML code using Safari's 'View Source' to my horror I found out that that each page has a seperate '_files' folder that contains multiple versions of files that are also used in other pages - including navigation buttons and background images. I also saw that every element has styling applied to it 'inline' in the code, rather than in a single seperate style-sheet.
    To confirm this I published it to a folder on my hard drive and checked it all out. What a mess!
    As a WYSIWYG web page editor iWeb is great but it's an undisputable fact that the HTML markup and CSS code it produces is absolutely appaling. What's worse though is that it also renders whole swaithes of text as images and that it does create seperate folders for each pages content including images, CSS code and navigation buttons - so even though the same images and code are used throughout the site for the background and buttons and layout, they are written out as seperate files and have to be reloaded with every page!!!
    This means that the .Mac server must be getting hammered and webpages are very slow to download and slow to render in Safari - it's almost like dialup when I'm viewing my iWebsite, and like I said, I've got a 4mb cable connection!
    Looking at the code iWeb produces, it is good to see that tables are not used for layout, and that's one thing in its favour. But surely the whole point of providing 'themed' templates for users is that the same content is used across the site and therefore doesn't need to be created multiple times - one of the benefits of using CSS stylesheets. Why doesn't iWeb create a single stylesheet and make efficient use of repeated images instead of creating multiple instances of the same file for each page?
    Perhaps there is a setting somewhere I've missed. If so, let me know someone!
    It is a great WYSIWYG editor, but behind the scenes it's not efficient, it's not clean and simple and it's certainly not attractive - and I'm surprised at that coming from Apple! I know iWeb is a great tool for beginners and I'm a picky professional, but if I was Joe Public First Time Web Designer I'd be very annoyed by this.
    Clean it up and sort it out Mr Jobs!
    PS: Also, where does iWeb store the website whilst it's in production? I can't find it anywhere?

    Your iWeb Site is stored not on your iDisk, but on a file named Domain.sites in your ~/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ Folder.
    If , for whatever reason, you wipe your HD and/or lose this file (Get a new computer, Re-Install your OS, Stolen Laptop, Crashed HD, Etc.) without backing-up your Domain.sites file then you will have to re-build your iWeb sites from scratch again.
    Of course you can edit your Published HTML files in a different program such as Dreamweaver or even Text Edit. You just can't edit Published HTML files in iWeb. Not at this time at least.
    Use iWebBackup to backup your Domain file to a Blank CD or DVD. Backing up your Domain file to another folder on your computer is not fully backing it up. If your computer gets stolen you still lost the file but if you have your Domain file burned onto a CD you have a backup!
    Download iWebBackup Here
    You can use iWebExtender to automatically consolidate your files into one folder and delete multiple images.

    how to have multiple images on the same screen? like in the movies where you see several actions at the same time ....
    i don't find  a tutorial in adobe tv....
    thanks !!

    The short answer is that you'll put the source clip(s) for each inset on a different video track, all stacked up. Then use the Scale and Position effects (under "Motion" on the Effect Controls panel) to reduce their size and place them where you want.
    If the content of an inset will involve edited content (where you're cutting among various clips or just trimming out unwanted content from a single clip), then you'll probably find it easier to do all those edits in one sequence, then nest that sequence in the master sequence, where you apply the Scale and Positioning effects. That will save the step of applying the scale and position effects to each edited track item.

  • How do I add multiple images into one file?

    I'm sure this is something that's been covered in another post (or even in the help portal) but I think my wording in my search terms are not correct or... I don't know, because I just can't find what I'm looking for.
    I want to know how to add multiple images into one file/one image, both horizontally and/or vertically. To give you an idea of what I mean, check out :
    http://www.best10apps.com/apps/comic-story,531596060.html
    If you scroll down, you'll see a heading entitled : Screenshots of Comic Story. Notice how there's 3 pictures (divided by borders). 2 of those pictures are side by side, and 1 of them is below the first 2 pictures.
    I want to know how to add different pictures/images and put them into one picture.

    One way is to create template PSD files and populate them with your images using Photoshops scripts.
    Photo Collage Toolkit UPDATED June 12, added Picture Package Support via PasteImageRoll and BatchPicturePackage scripts.
    The package includes four simple rules to follow when making Photo Collage Template PSD files so they will be compatible with my Photoshop scripts.
    There are eleven scripts in this package they provide the following functions:
    TestCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to test a Photo Collage Template while you are making it with Photoshop.
    CollageTemplateBuilder.jsx - Can build Templates compatible with this toolkit's scripts.
    LayerToAlphaChan.jsx - Used to convert a Prototype Image Layer stack into a template document.
    InteractivePopulateCollage.jsx - Used to interactively populate Any Photo Collage template. Offers most user control inserting pictures and text.
    ReplaceCollageImage.jsx - use to replace a populated collage image Smart Object layer with an other image correctly resized and positioned.
    ChangeTextSize.jsx - This script can be used to change Image stamps text size when the size used by the populating did not work well.
    PopulateCollageTemplate.jsx - Used to Automatically populate a Photo Collage template and leave the populated copy open in Photoshop.
    BatchOneImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Collage templates that only have one image inserted. The Collage or Image may be stamped with text.
    BatchMultiImageCollage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with images in a source image folder. Easier to use than the interactive script. Saved collages can be tweaked.
    BatchPicturePackage.jsx - Used to Automatically Batch Populate Any Photo Collage template with an image in a source image folder
    PasteImageRoll.jsx - Paste Images into a document to be print on roll paper.

  • How to Watermark multiple images with different dimensions in Photoshop ?

    Is there any way that I can place a watermark on the right bottom of multiple images, no matter what dimension the images are? I have tried using Photoshop Scripts > image processor, but it works only for images of same dimension. I want to put watermark on multiple images of different dimensions. This is the output i got.
    For the first image the watermark got placed correctly, but for the second image watermark got distracted. As you can clearly see the dimensions are different. Please suggest me some solution.

    Open an image to watermark. We must have this open before we start recording an action or else it will keep opening this image and watermarking it over and over again.
    In Photoshop go to Windows >> Actions
    At the bottom of the Actions Palette you will see a little folder icon, click on it and create a new folder to hold you action in.
    Once you have a folder to hold your action we need to hit the Create New Action button (next to the new folder Icon we just used.)
    Give our new action a name and set a function key (if required.)
    If the record button is not already depressed which it should be by default, hit it now to start recording our action. (located near the folder icon again but this time to the left)
    Now that our action is recording go to File >> Place
    When the dialog box comes up navigate to your previously created watermark file.
    Hit the Place button
    Position the watermark as you would normally have it (default is dead center) and hit enter.
    Go to File >> Save as,navigate to where you want your watermarked images to finish up and hit save. DO NOT CHANGE THE FILE NAME if you do when you play the batch it will name all the files it saves the same over-writing each other.
    Close the image we just watermarked.
    when a save dialog comes up do not save the image.
    On the Actions Palette hit stop recording.
    Our Action is now recorded.
    To process an entire folder of images we go to File >> Automate >> Batch
    Select the folder in which your images are currently
    Select the folder you wish to save the watermarked copies too.
    Hit OK
    Photoshop is now watermarking all the Images in the selected folder for you.

  • Selecting multiple images to edit the source code

    Hi. Does anyone know if there's a way to select multiple
    images in a table and change there source code. The reason why I
    ask is that I recently decided to organize my assets folder by
    adding subfolders. Naturally, this makes my images appear as broken
    links. It's a pretty big site that I'm working on and I would like
    to know if there is a faster way than just selecting them one by
    one.

    If you would have created the folders within DW itself (file
    management), and moved images from one
    folder to the other, the links would have been adjusted
    automatically. Carrying out changes like
    this outside of DW will create broken links as you have
    found.
    Did you backup the original site, if so, and have a lot of
    broken links, it maybe worthwhile, going
    back to the original and use the file management to
    rename/create new folders and move your assets
    that way.

  • Bridge CS6 Script to Find Multiple Images in Multiple folders.

    Is it possible to have a script to find multiple images within multiple folders that is on a external hard drive?
    For instances I have a external hard drive assuming it's for a library of pictures.
    Inside this hard drive has folders named as below
    1-1000
    1001-2000
    2001-3000
    3001-4000
    If I had a perfect csv file for example that calls out for specific pictures for example 2, 10,1500 and 2000 (remember think big, it may be a larger list than this it could be hundreds or thousands of pictures); is there a script that would allow me to find these images and save a copy of them on to my desktop so that way I don't have to hunt for them in the old fashion way? I can read scripts but writing them is a different story.

    How can I remove people tags from MULTIPLE images in Organizer 13?  The strategy for removing keyword tags does not work. It appears that keyword tags and People tags are considered something completely different in 13.  I highlight multiple images, right click, and under keyword tags it says there are no keyword tags. There does not appear to be an option for people or other tags. Can anyone help? It is going to take literally hundreds of hours for me to do this one photo one tag at a time.  ??

    That CSS is complete nonsense. The correct way to remove borders from around links is here: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/417110.
    If you want to get rid of dotted lines, they are almost certainly caused by the outline property. However, outlines around links are there for a reason: it provides a visual "you are here" clue to people who navigate the web with the keyboard, either through preference or because of disability. You shouldn't remove the dotted outline without providing a different visual clue.

  • Multiple Images Dragged on a JPanel

    I am trying to add multiple BufferedImages to a JPanel. I can get one BufferedImage on there fine by creating my own class which overrides JPanel, and then in the paintComponent(Graphics g) method, I have a method with g.drawImage(image, npx, npy, null); to draw the image on the panel.
    So that works fine for one image. I have also implemented a MouseMotionAdapter so I can drag the image around. However I am having GREAT difficulty implementing it with multiple images. I cannot workout how to do this. I am aware I need to have an ArrayList containing all the images, but I cannot determine how I am to loop through each one, getting the correct image, then moving that one.
    Please help with some useful code. (I can provide mine if required).

    Hi pierrot_2,
    I'm not yet. I'm not yet, I was thinking I would just have to loop through the list of images, getting the correct image (by a method unknown yet) and then calling the drawImage() method, passing the selected image as a parameter.Kelvin, take your project one step at a time. The first thing I would do is try painting all four images first. You can do it quickly by having a Point[] array along side of a BufferedImage[] array. Lets's say the images are w=200, h=160 for now.
    BufferedImage[] images = new BufferedImage[4];
    Point[] locations = new Point[4];
    locations[0] = new Point(0, 0);
    locations[1] = new Point(200, 0);
    locations[2] = new Point(0, 160);
    locations[3] = new Point(200, 160);
    // paintComponent
    for(int i = 0; i < images.length; i++)}
      BufferedImage bi = images;
    Point p = locations[i];
    g.drawImage(bi, p.x. p.y, null);
    }Use something like the code above to get you started. Kelvin, there are much better ways to do this, but for now see if you can paint all your images on the JPanel first, using nothing but <tt> images </tt>and<tt> locations </tt>as described. Later, you may want to switch to Rectangles. See how the FOR loop will call<tt> drawImage() </tt>four times. See how the Point objects are being used to position the image being painted? Do this BEFORE you try to move them around the canvas. Call home if you have troubles.

  • Current position in image resets upon switching between images

    I have Adobe Photoshop CS3 on Windows XP.  Here's what happens:
    I have multiple images open at once
    I'm zoomed in real close on a picture, say somewhere in the lower-right-hand corner of the image
    I switch to another image (ie, go to Window->[Other Image File.jpg] or hit Ctrl+Tab) or I create a new image
    Upon switching back to the first image I find the viewing position has changed to the very upper-left-hand corner of the image (ie, pixel location 0,0).
    This forces me to scroll/navigate myself back to the original position of my image every time I toggle across multiple pictures.
    It's very frustrating as there are times I am cutting down an image for a web design or photo edit and have to switch between multiple pictures very often throughout the process.  It just wastes a lot time having to re-scroll to my original spot in the image.  Anyone else out there had this issue?
    - Tim

    Let me guess.  You're switching images by clicking on the filmstrip.
    The badges are "active".  Clicking one of them will do the action associated with that badge.

One image per post isn't going to cut it with these guys and they dont really have any photoshop skills!

    Hi Liam, thanks for your reply, my client is ok with the media manager and uploading multiple images. The problem however is that they are use to tumblr dynamically chaging the size and laying out their images in a nice 'thumbnail' style gallery on each different blog post.
    I am after a simple way to display multiple images via css as 'thumbnail' style gallery in a blog posts.
    If there isn't an easy way to achieve this, Is there a way to restrict the amount of css image classes in the image class name drop down so my client only see classes that are specific to laying out images?

  • Slicing images/Css

    Hello,
    I am working on a site with a number of large-ish photos (
    http://www.rosieroo.com/design_one_home.html)
    I was on this forum awhile back asking advice on slicing and
    positioning with CSS and since then I have been working through
    suggested tutorials. but I am still confused.
    Most of the tutorials I have come acroos seem to be around
    slicing/CSS image rollovers. I simply want the images to load
    faster no need for roll over functionality.
    I have also come across some sites saying slicing is a thing
    of the past and no longer needed.
    Can anyone offer advice on:
    1) Does slicing increase the speed a page is loaded or does
    it jus appear to load faster?
    2) With regards to my link above would slicing help this page
    load faster?
    3) If slicing is reccomended would it work to simply:
    slice images > export images only
    >Put the images piece by piece into a div (this is what I
    have done with the large images so i am assuming it would work with
    mutiple smaller images? I have not used any positoning other than
    inserting each piece -is that bad form?)
    4) or would it be better to position the images with CSS? If
    so can anyone reccomend simple tutorial that would help me achieve
    a fast loading CSS positioned page
    thank you,
    Shontelle

    Ok I understand now and thanks for the comments.
