Possible Bug: jsp:plugin (Oct. 11g release)

I'm trying to set the mayscript="true" property of Applet using <jsp:plugin type="applet"..., however in editor it is okay (shows in the intellisense popup) however at compilation, flags this attribute as an error.
Any ideas?

Liya,
Could you possibly test it with 903 -preview. Or else if you have a simple test case I can test it for you.
There have lot of fixes between 1022 and JDev RC2 and 903. Since it does reproduce in JDev RC2
I am quite positive that it would reproduce on a later version of OC4J.
( The OC4J in JDev RC2 is a much later version than 1022)
thanks,

  • Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

    I am beginning to wonder if there is a 'bug' in the SOA Suite 11g, BPEL, Java Embedding activity? Need some help as soon as possible – does the Java Embedding activity work in SOA Suite 11g?
    Have tried the following on Jdev 11.1.1.1 and Jdev 11.1.1.3 – get the same error message (see below for error message).
    Thanks for any help - Casey
    I created a simple composite app by:
    1.     Created a Composite with BPEL Process
    2.     Created a BPEL variable by the name of Variable and a Simple Type of string      ({http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema}string)
    3.     Added an Assign activity (Assign_1) and assigned the value of “Test Var” to the variable Variable using a Copy operation.
    4.     Then, after the assign activity, added a Java Embedding activity (Java_Embedding_1) with Java Version set to 1.5 and the following code:
    +try{+*
    String var;*
    var=(String)getVariableData(Variable);*
    System.out.println(var);*
    +}  // end try+
    +catch(Exception ex){+*
    System.out.println(ex.getMessage());*
    +}// end catch+
    Compiled and got the following error message:
    Error(23,34): Failed to compile bpel generated classes.*
    failure to compile the generated BPEL classes for BPEL process "BPELProcess1" of composite "default/Project1!1.0"*
    The class path setting is incorrect.*
    Ensure that the class path is set correctly. If this happens on the server side, verify that the custom classes or jars which this BPEL process is depending on are deployed correctly. Also verify that the run time is using the same release/version.*
    Code for the BPEL component is:

    Java Embedding bug in SOA Suite 11g BPEL??

  • Is Tomcat 4's jsp:plugin tag hardwired to 1.2?

    Is Tomcat 4's <jsp:plugin > tag hardwired to version 1.2 of the JPI?
    I was absolutely horrified today at a job interview when, proudly navigating to the page containing the 1.4-demanding applet I embedded in the page using <jsp:plugin ...> the plugin installation dialogue came up -- asking whether they wanted to install the 1.2 plugin (up until recently, I had the applet's object tag embedded manually... switching to jsp:plugin was fairly recent).
    As it turns out, the <object> tag generated by Tomcat was specifying the download path for the 1.2 plugin, even though I specified jreversion="1.4" in the <jsp:plugin> tag:
    <OBJECT
       classid="clsid:8AD9C840-044E-11D1-B3E9-00805F499D93"
       name="theApplet"
       width="550"
       height="400"
       align="middle"
       codebase="http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.2.2/jinstall-1_2_2-win.cab#Version=1,2,2,0">The "clsid" value can be changed in web.xml by changing the jsp servlet's "ieClassId" initParam, but as far as I can tell there's NO mechanism for changing the "codebase" value anywhere.
    Is the <jsp:plugin> tag (under Tomcat 4, at least) just useless for Applets that must have 1.4, or is there a configuration parameter somewhere to set the "codebase" value generated by the tag?
    I know I could always put the manually-specified code back in, but I'd prefer to stay with the <jsp:plugin> tag if possible just because it makes the jsp source cleaner. What's strange is that nobody seems to have complained about that problem on the usual places (Usenet/dejanews/Google, jguru.com, etc). Whether that's just because nobody writes applets that actually demand 1.4, or whether everybody who does just embeds the <object> tag manually, I'm not sure.
    In any case, I'm trying to figure out how to make <jsp:plugin> generate the right HTML for 1.4-using applets... or whether it's even possible.

    Sigh. I found it. It's actually specified as the "iepluginurl" property of the <jsp:plugin> tag.
    <emotion:frustration variation="anger">
    Now I just need to figure out what *$%!# value to use for it.
    The JPI's developer guide has to be the worst document I've ever seen from Sun. Normally, Sun's documents are good. Often, exceptionally so. But the JPI guide... well, after reading http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.1/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/using_tags.html multiple times, I'm still not sure what #$%^&* URL corresponds to "The newest released JPI equal to or newer than 1.4.0". The only URL on the whole page that they even imply works is hardwired to 1.4.0, and in the same breath they imply that every other codebase URL on the page is wrong, hypothetical, and shouldn't be used... oh, and for that matter, the 1.4_0 one shouldn't really be used ether, because it might change in the future. Grrrrr.
    If there's a pattern to the following URLs (all used on the same page) that's supposed to illustrate something besides abyssmally bad editing and apparent indecision, I haven't seen it yet:
    http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,4,0,0
    http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/1.4/jinstall-14-win32.cab#Version=1,4,0,mn
    http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,4,1,mn
    http://java.sun.com/products/plugin/autodl/jinstall-1_4_0-win.cabHmmm. Let's see here. They're all the same up to http://java.sun.com/products/plugin, but from that point one diverges into /1.4/, while the others continue into /autodl/. But even past that point, two imply that the filename follows the pattern jinstall-1_4-windows-i586.cab#Version=1,4,x,* ... but whether developers who really, truly, don't care about the specific maintenance release should use "0" or "mn" is left up in the air.
    Furthermore, the ONE URL on the entire page that they come halfway close to implying will work is the last one I listed above, which itself goes totally against whatever hypthetical pattern they were trying to imply with the other three. For now I'll probably stick the last one listed as the parameter because it's the only one they actually come out and say will work, but I suspect the first one is probably the "right" one.
    Of course, there's always the matter of Macintosh users running IE. Or Windows users running Mozilla (which is technically Netscape, but uses MSIE ActiveX plugins). Does Mozilla get fed the value of "iepluginurl", or the value of "nspluginurl"? Sigh.

  • Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit)

    First of all my windows is not genuine, but on my friend's desktop oracle download and installation  worked fine, he chose "create and configure database" options, and it works very well on his desktop, though his windows is also illegitimate. In my case, when I select "Create and configure database" option and pressed 'next",
    (Go to my blog to see it with snapshots: Computer Science: Oracle database 11g release 2 installation problem on windows 7 (64-bit))
    it asks to select class, I select "Desktop class" and pressed "next". The moment I pressed "next", the whole setup thing disappeared like it was never started. I searched for all possible reasons for why its not getting installed on my laptop, I used registry cleaner s/w,  deleted 25 GB of data to create free space if it were the problem, increased the virtual memory to increase the space for RAM, I did almost everything to get this setup working, but I found no success with the "Create and Configure database" option
    and
    then
    I chose a "database software only" option and chose to store in a folder w/o spaces. This way, I got database s/w only and then later I found "Database configuration Assistant (DBCA)"  from windows START button and clicked to create and configure database manually. The steps are pretty much interactive and doesn't involve much brainstorming.
    The values I filled for
    1) Global Database Name :  orcl
    2) System Identifier : orcl
    3) I chose common password for both SYS and SYSTEM
    4) while on Enterprise Manager Configuration step, It asked me to create and configure listener in oracle home, so for that too, I typed "netca" in windows START menu and clicked it. There I added a listener.
    5) I chose a Storage area which was the Oracle-home itself i.e. where our installation files goes , in my case it is : C:\oracle_base\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\oradata
    6) Then after few more nitty-gritty clicks, we are set to go !
    Finally to write SQL code and to create your first TABLE , type "sqlplus" in windows "START" menu and click it when it appears. A command-prompt like window appears , which will ask you for username and password, so here they are :
    Username : sys/ as sysdba
    Password : (its the one you created in step 3 stated above )
    After this you are ready to write your first SQL command.

    Is this your solution to your original post at Oracle database 11g release 2 installation on windows 7 (64-bit) ?
    Pl be aware that you should not create any custom objects in SYS or SYSTEM schema - you should create any such objects in a separate custom schema.

  • Installation of Oracle 11g Release 2 on Windows Server 2008 R2

    Hi:
    When I tried to install 64-bit Oracle 11g Release 2 on a system running 64-bit Windows Server 2008 R2.
    One of the system pre-requisites failed with the following error message:
    Checking operating system requirements ...
    Expected result: One of 5.0,5.1,5.2,6.0
    Actual Result: 6.1
    Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed <<<<
    Problem: Oracle Database 11g is not certified on the current operating system.
    Recommendation: Make sure you are installing the software on the correct platform.
    I presume 6.0 is Windows 2008 Server and 6.1 should be Release 2.
    Does this mean that this version is not compatible with Server 2008 Release 2?

    I was just hoping there was an official release date and I just couldn't find it.
    Is there any information about features in 11gR2 for Windows available yet?
    Or can you maybe tell me if it will be possible to mount the new "database filesystem" like we can do on linux?

  • Expressions not evaluating properly in jsp:plugin tag

    Hi there, running OC4J as Oracle9iAS (1.0.2.2.1)
    In the JSP1.1 spec dynamic expressions in the jsp:plugin <param> tag are clearly specified as below:
    <jsp:params>
    [ <jsp:param name="parameterName" value="{parameterValue | <%= expression %>}" /> ]+ </jsp:params>
    Unfortunately, attempting this in OC4J, the expression is simply displayed as a static String, for example the following JSP source:
         <jsp:params>
              <jsp:param name="rootSubAssembly" value="<%=rootSubAssembly%>" />
         </jsp:params>
    Would output "<%=rootSubAssembly%>" as the parameter value, rather than the dynamic value specified in the JSP above.
    Any ideas? We'd like to benefit from using the plugin tag over object/applet if at all possible.

    Hi,
    May I know why you need to start admin server in both the physically separated server. If you want to achieve HA solution for admin server, then do the clustering in such a way that Admin server will run in Active-Passive mode.
    You can refer the same document that you have mentioned.

  • Is there any possibility in LABVIEW to Create a release mode EXE like VC++

    iam krishnaprasad. iam new to LABVIEW.
    i have 1+year experiance on VC++6.0.
    Is there any possibility in LABVIEW to Create a release mode EXE like VC++ .
    if there please suggest me how to create  it..
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    First, you must include you VI inside a LV project. This can be done automatically by selecting New Project from the Files menu in that (any) VI.
    LV will ask you whether to include any open VI to be added to this newly opened project. Click Add & thats it. Now save this project in a location of your preference.
    Then, in the Project Explorer window, right click Build Specifications >> New >> Application (EXE) or Installer, as per your requirement.
    The former will create you an EXE only while the latter will bundle all that needed for an installer (mainly LV run-time engine of the version under use).
    If you create the EXE alone, then you need to install the LV run-time engine of the corresponding version manually in the target PC first, before trying to run you application (EXE). Else, it will throw error & wont run properly.

    The beta is unlikely to have any bugs that would affect a student type usage. The fact that
    it's now in Beta would lead me to believe that the full release is not far away - after all,
    it is the same codebase - they just take things out!
    You can deploy, distribute and even sell your apps developed on XE.

  • Forms 11g release 2

    Anyone know when Forms 11g release 2 will be released? Thanks,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan,
    Is there any improvement or bug fixes you're waiting for ?
    I didn't test it enough (almost nothing....) to see bugs (except that you can't connect to an xe database. required is 10.2.0.4 or higher), but what I'm waiting for a R2 is a separate install for developer machine and servers.
    for servers the actual install is quite hard to achieve on some OS ( I was lucky to succeed it the first time on XP), and this has to be improved.
    but for developer machine I think we need a lightweight installation with small memory usage et something equivalent to the standalone oc4j for local testing, instead of a complete AS with weblogic administration and enterprise manager etc...

    Thanks & Regards,
    Suryakant.

    Here are some ideas:
    1) Write a custom tag.
    2) Use some sort of templating method at the time you deploy your jsps (or later). For example, you could perform xslt pre-processing of your jsps. Some servlet engines can do this automatically (Resin applies xslt transformations to .xtp files to generate a resulting .jsp).
    3) Use some sort of filtering method at the time you deploy your jsps. In our environment, we use ant for builds/deployment. Ant has tasks for copying files to a destination location, but also can use a filterset structure to perform simple substitutions within the files (a parameter placeholder must appear in the source, such as @IEPLUGINURL@). Among other things, we use this to globally configure which version of the plugin should be used on all of our applet pages.

Can someone else try something similar and see if they get the same result - I think I read somewhere that v11 is not available on Windows yet, so I cant compare what happens there
    I've imported all our CD's into iTunes, and we've set up several Smart Playlists (SP). Using the Rating setting for the songs, we can break them up into groups, eg
    Rating 0 = not yet processed
    Rating 1 = not interested in listening to again
    Rating 2 = kids songs (for our children)
    Rating 3 = christmas songs
    Rating 4 = songs i like, but my wife probably wouldnt
    Rating 5 = songs we both like - good for background music etc
    Using Home Sharing to our iPad's rocks !!
    Now, onto the bug.
    Using the SP that has just songs with Rating 0, I could play any song, set the Rating to whatever, and naturally once set, that disappears from the SP
    In all earlier versions of iTunes, playback would continue with the next song, so I could set that Rating, etc etc. Worked really well to churn through a chunk of songs in say 15 minute blocks
    With iTunes v11, playback stops as soon as I set the Rating.
    How can you help ?????????? Set up a smart playlist with whatever criteria you like - make sure you have a number of songs returned and ensure Live Updating is set, have a song playing, and make that song no longer valid for that SP. Anyone doing this in earlier versions of iTunes should have the next song begin, and if this is a bug, then those using iTunes 11 will have playback stop
    Sorry for the long post, but in order to determine a potential bug, you need to describe the situation and how to test it.
    Thanks for reading
    PS I'm on a 2010 Mac Mini with OSX v10.7.x (whatever the current release of that is) and just upgraded to iTunes 11

    Soo, maybe it isnt possible bug, but the way Apple have changed iTunes when going to v11. Stooopid
    Anyway, found this link about downgrading to an earlier version. I've just completed it and found one or two "errors" in the method, which I'll detail below
    http://www.emacconsulting.com/apple/itunes/downgrade-itunes-11-to-itunes-10-7/
    In the latter part of the instructions
    11) Open your iTunes Music Folder.
    If you never moved your iTunes folder it’s located here:
    Your HD/Your User/Music/iTunes
    Or go to the Finder type:  Command + Shift + G
    Paste this into the the dialog:  ~/Music/iTunes
    If you moved it to another hard drive, you will know where to locate your iTunes folder.
    12) Open the “Previous iTunes Libraries” folder.
    13) Find the most recent copy of the “iTunes Library 2012-xx-xx.itl” file.
    Normally it will the last file at the bottom of the list.
    14) Drag a copy of the file into the iTunes folder.
    15) Delete the “iTunes Library” file.
    16) Change the name of the “iTunes Library 2012-xx-xx.itl” to ”iTunes Library” with no .itl extension.
    In #11, I simply went to "My HD"/Users/"My User"/Music/iTunes
    Copied the latest .itl and moved it up a directory level
    The old file in #15 is called "iTunes Library.itl" - which I renamed, and renamed the copied version back to "iTunes Library.itl" = though I do have extensions showing, some people may not and hence wont see the .itl
    Anyway all is fixed in my world, and when I launched v10.7, it asked me if I wanted to upgrade to v11 - I said No and not to prompt me again. Playcount issue is resulved, as is changing SmartList criteria with playback continuing
    Apple - please correct these bugs before releasing any new versions of iTunes... you've made a very large number of people unhappy

    In the "View Preferences" there does not seem to be an option to insert a "file type" column. If it isn't possible to do this, I'd suggest that this option be made available. If it is possible, how is it done? thanks Custom   Windows XP Pro
