Possible to decode an IRIG-B timestamp with NI-6601 (cross-posted on LabVIEW)

We are preparing for a test that requires both time-varying data and quasi-steady data to be recorded and coordinated with a sort of timestamp.
We can feed the IRIG signal into one of our NI-4472  channels in one DAQ system, but we need to coordinate with another DAQ system which is
sampling at much lower rates and time-averaging the data (using a 6224 card and external devices).
We have a PCI-6601 counter-timer card available but I only see examples and discussion of reading the IRIG-B signal with counters on the 6608 card.
Can I do the same thing with the 6601 card?
Thanks
Dave

  • RMI with SSL problem (cross post under RMI too)

    Hi,
    I'm having problems using RMI with SSL. I posted in the RMI forum originally but now realise the problems are with the SSL really.
    Perhaps someone who follows this forum could help.

    Thanks.

    There's more dukes in the other thread too.

  • Oracle ODBC driver and TIMESTAMP with timezone

    Does anyone know if it is possible to return data from a "TIMESTAMP WITH TIMEZONE" column using the Oracle ODBC driver and an ADO Recordset?
    I am using the Oracle driver version 10.2.0.2 and TIMESTAMP fields work fine.
    I can call Recordset->Open() with a query like "SELECT * FROM TABLE" when the table contains a column of type timestamp with timezone but when I execute a statement to see if there are results as in
    if (!(srcRecsetPtr->BOF && srcRecsetPtr->EndOfFile))
    my application throws an unhandled exception and exits. The exception is not a COM exception and I'm not sure how to get back additional information if that's possible.
    The only information I've been able to find in searching TechNet and MetaLink is that a workaround is to wrap the columns in a TO_CHAR or TO_DATE conversion first but that's not a good solution for my problem since I am executing user specified SQL which may join multiple tables.
    I've found one other note that says the documentation should be corrected and that these fields are NOT supported period (Bug #4011640).
    I've experimented with the Bind Timestamp as Date option in the ODBC connection and with various ALTER SESSION settings to attempt to change the NLS_TIMESTAMP_TZ_FORMAT but I have been unable to get past the problem.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Troy

    Hi Justin
    Thanks for your help.
    I tried what you mentioned and I could connect myself via SQL*Plus without passing a password and a login, Extern authentification seems to work and my user seems to be right configurated.
    But he problem goes on via ODBC. When I test connection in the ODBC Data Source Administrator of Windows XP, test fails and seems to forbid connection without userID and password. When I try to connect via ODBC in my program the same problem appears : "Unable to connect SQLSTATE=28000 [Oracle][ODBC][ORA]Ora-01017: Invalid username/password;logon denied" I could not connect in this way.. What's wrong ?

  • Is it possible to create a timestamp with an accuracy of 1ms?

    I want to acquire data with PCI-6023 and write them with a precise timestamp to a file. Is it possible to create a timestamp with an accuracy of 1ms?
    Maybe somebody can tell me experiences with logging data over a time periode up to 24 hours (and time-accuracy of 1ms)?

    Hi Hans, This forum is related to one of National Instruments' automation products rather than data aquisition. Perhaps you will acheive better results if you post your question to one of the "Measurement Devices" forms instead.

  • Partitioning on a table on the field TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE

    Hi I have a very large size table which has grown to a size that we are not able to query it efficiently. We have decided to partition the table. But the issue is the table has a TIMESTAMP WITH TIME ZONE field and not DATE. I have found some links on the web which state this might cause an error. I am planning to create a temp table with the partition rules and at the same time copy data from the original one.
    using CREATE TABLE XYZ PARTITION BY RANGE (ABC) ( ---- Partition rules ------) NOLOGGING AS SELECT * FROM XYZ_ACTUAL where 1 = 2;
    Then if it works fine, I would rename the table with partitions to the actual name.
    Should all this be fine?
    The database is very critical. Hence the dilemma.

    Have you tried converting the timestamp with time zone to a character string as a partition key, possibly using an edit mask to control the timestamp components used?
    Your plan sounds OK to me - if you can get the partitioned table created - but I would test in a development first o see where the lLw of Unintended Consequences might decide to manifest itself.

  • Can I creat timestamp with the help of 6601 in labview?

    I need a timestamp less than 1ms. So far as I know, 6601 can measure the time interval at the accurecy of us. Can this help to creat timestamp?

    Jimmyjimmy2000,
    The simple answer is probably, yes. I think you can timestamp using the 6601.
    I know this is my usual "answer" - to ask more questions, but more information is needed to propose a good solution.
    Do you need absolute time or relative time accuracy?
    By absolute I mean, do you need a tracable timestamp with clearly definable accuracy to GMT or the NIST clock?
    Or is is good enough to measure intervals of time accurately?
    For instance,
    Absolute:
    1st datum logged at January 2, 2003 0847.105 hours EST
    2nd datum logged at January 2, 2003 0847.107 hours EST
    Relative:
    1st datum logged at January 2, 2003 0847.105 hours EST
    2nd datum logged after an additional 0.002 seconds
    Both structures are possible
    and useful for different purposes. In the first case the best evidence is needed to fix the time of the event under examination. In the second case the begining of the acquisiton is fixed as absolutely as possible, but subsequent data are acceptable as timed by the clock of the 6601 card.
    I noticed example code at ni.com that allows a clock update using the global positioning system by wireless means. This is for PXI-6608.
    There are VI that ship with LabVIEW for GPS timestamping (find examples search for: NI-TIO). The measure buffered pulse VI measures the time between 2 digital edges and builds an array of those intervals as they occur.
    Also, what will trigger the timstamping event? A digital pulse? Do you need to trigger at a particular voltage level?
    Triggering at a set voltage level could be tricky. It might be important which data acquisition card you are using.
    For further info search at ni.com:

    lso, if you can, call NI at (800)433-3488 in the US. Documentation is limited for counter/timer applications. But, the engineers at NI can help you figure out how to get going on the phone.

  • Compare Timestamp with a number in hours

    Hi,
    Need help with this question.
    I want compare a timestamp with a value like 24 or 36 hour.
    For example:
    Timestamp: '16-jul-2010 13:00:00' when the 24 hours is pass ('17-jul-2010 13:05:10') then I want to update a table.
    Is it possible to to this in pl/sql or have Oracle 11G a function in it.
    I appreciate some help.
    Thanks.

    Having article_id in both tables you could try something like (not tested as I don't have database access)
    update table_1 t1
       set result = 1
    where 24 * (sysdate - timestamp_placed) > (select time
                                                  from table_2
                                                 where article_id = t1.article_id
                                               )Regards
    Etbin
    sorry (working doing it from home and someone posted a not completed template)
    Try to do it with a single update or else ... - you'll hear from damorgan ;)
    update gkr_droogkamer1 dgr
       set result = 1
    where result = 0
       and 24 * (sysdate - timestamp_placed) > (select dry_time
                                                  from gkr_artikel
                                                 where article_id = dgr.article_id
                                               )You'd better come up with a data sample and someone will provide a tested solution asap. Something like:
    create table gkr_droogkamer1
    select 1 article_id,sysdate - 50 / 24 timestamp_placed,1 result from dual union all
    select 2 article_id,sysdate - 40 / 24 timestamp_placed,0 result from dual union all
    select 3 article_id,sysdate - 30 / 24 timestamp_placed,0 result from dual union all
    select 4 article_id,sysdate - 20 / 24 timestamp_placed,0 result from dual union all
    select 5 article_id,sysdate - 10 / 24 timestamp_placed,0 result from dual;
    create table gkr_artikel
    select 1 article_id,36 dry_time from dual union all
    select 2 article_id,36 dry_time from dual union all
    select 3 article_id,24 dry_time from dual union all
    select 4 article_id,24 dry_time from dual union all
    select 5 article_id,24 dry_time from dual;Regards

  • Data Migration from 11i to R12 Global - Open POs,lines, receipts & on hand upload, Is it possible to do the onhand qty upload with over riding of all receipts which uploaded against Open PO lines?

    Hi Friends,
    We are in a phase of data migration from 11i to R12
    I was discussed with client & they wants extraction of all open POs which was generated after 01 Jan 2014 to till date in 11i.
    Condition for open POs is PO qty-received qty=>0
    critical Example for open PO is :PO no: 10 has 4 lines, 3lines full qty has been received & for 1 line partial qty(say 50 out of 100) received.
    in this case he wants in R12 uploading as PO no:10 should entered as open PO with all 4lines & 3 lines complete receipt should be done, for 4th line partial qty i.e 50 should be received.
    the question is if we upload on hand qty first, then open POs & receipts, it will increase the onhand qty in new system(mismatch of on hand qty's 11i to R12)
    Is it possible to do the onhand qty upload with over riding of all receipts which uploaded against Open PO lines.
    Or Please advice best solution.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Access of possibly undefined property number through a reference with static type...

    Hello everyone !
    I run into this problem today ... take a look on the code :

        var fire:TeraFire = new TeraFire();

        fire.number = j; //This line is causeing the problem
        addChild(fire);
        fire.buttonMode = true;
    TeraFire class creates fire particles. The compiler error is :

    Anyone can help me to find a solution to this problem.
    I can do that ".number" with a movieclip but not in this case. What can I do ?

    I borrowed that class from the internet.

  • Is it possible to create a variable in bex with the last work day?

    Hi Gurus
    Is it possible to create a variable in bex with the last work day?
    Actually end-user every day open queries,
        - Put in selection date day - 1 or
        - put last Friday if the day is Monday or
        - put last Thursday if the day is Monday and Friday is holiday (in a calendar for example 25 the December).
    Please do the needful. It is urgent
    Thanks in advance
    Raj

    Try this logic in a customer exit:
    DATA:  l_s_range TYPE rsr_s_rangesid.
    DATA:  X_PERIOD LIKE T009B-POPER,
               X_YEAR   LIKE T009B-BDATJ.
      CASE I_VNAM.
      WHEN 'ZPREVWORKDAY'.
        DATA: l_DayOfWeek(1) TYPE C,
              l_act_date     TYPE d,
              l_prev_date    TYPE d.
        l_act_date = sy-datum.
        CALL FUNCTION  'DATE_COMPUTE_DAY'
             EXPORTING DATE = l_act_date
             IMPORTING DAY  = l_DayOfWeek.
        CASE l_DayOfWeek.
          WHEN '1'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 3.
          WHEN '2'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 1.
          WHEN '3'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 1.
          WHEN '4'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 1.
          WHEN '5'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 1.
          WHEN '6'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 1.
          WHEN '7'.
            l_prev_date = l_act_date - 2.
        ENDCASE.
        l_s_range-low  = l_prev_date.
        APPEND l_s_range TO e_t_range.
    ENDCASE.

  • Is it possible to export a file from Organizer with the list of all the images in an album?

    Is it possible to export a file from Organizer with a list of all the images in a certain album? In filling one of my albums I did not save my edited images to the same file... they are spread out a bit.... Now I want them to make a book with them (outside of Elements).

    As far as I know, Elements does not have the ability to create lists.
    The solution to your problem of making a book outside of Elements is to place all the desired photos in an Album and then select File->Export->As New Files which gives you the ability to make a copy of every photo in the album in a new folder, from which you would create your photobook.
