Possible to do PageBreaks with Javascript?

Hi,
i like to know if it's possible to initiate page breaks in my form with Java script.
There are attributes like Subform.break and Subform.break.before(target)
but I can't get them to work properly... can anyone post a correct syntax for these features?
For example do a page break to top of next page on click of a button or something.
Thanks in advance!

For more complex logic use can use create a boolean array and convert it to a number.

  • Javascript question. Possible to save bookmark with javascript in Safari?

Is it possible to save a bookmark using javascript in Safari?
    In IE I use:
    window.external.AddFavorite(url, title);
    In Firefox I use:
    window.sidebar.addPanel(title, url,'');
In Safari I have no clue.
Any thoughts, is it even possible?

I'm going to call this bookmark function from inside a Flash application and I don't want the URL to be the exact URL that the Flash application has.
If you have a solution to the problem I would be very happy if you could post it!

  • Is it possible to add color context row with javascript?

    Hi,
Is it possible to add color context rows for a graphic object with javascript?
    Thanks.

The match syntax changed between version 12.0 and 12.1, so my recommendation to you is to build an iGrid template the way you would like to do it with javascript, then export the display template from the workbench.
Open the template in a text editor and observe the format for the MatchValues, MatchColumns, and MatchColors strings.
Then your javascript will follow the document.APPLET.gridObject().setMatchXXX("xxxx"); as shown in the script assistant.

  • Is it possible to downsample an image with javascript?

A colleague of mine has created a PDF with functionality in place to allow the user to add pictures into predetermined locations in the document.  His concern is that without the ability to downsample these photos automatically, the users may end up attaching photos from their 10+ MP cameras and this would result in enormous PDF documents.
Is it possible to downsample these images automatically with javascript?  The dimensions of the images can remain unchanged, but the resolution must reduce to bring down the potential size of the resulting PDF.
Any advice or pointers would be welcome.
    Thank you

Are there any other options you can think of to accomplish this using the Acrobat API and not necessarilly using javascript exclusively?  Could a plug-in accomplish this?

  • Problem with JavaScript in URL iView

    Hi,
I am facing a problem with javascript when i am trying to access my application through URL iView. In the javascript window.top is used to access the frames in the window. But the EP is not recognizing it as valid. what exctly the problem and please suggest me a solution.
    Ashok.

    Hi,,
thanks for the quick reply. But what i asked was different. I will put it in different way. I have deployed a application in Web Application Server and trying to access it through URL iView. My application is pure J2EE application with html, jsp and JS files. In javascript we used window.top property of the java script which is working fine MS IE. The problem is window.top is a IE specific property which is not having any equallent open standerd so EP is throwing a java script error. As I know the only possible solution for this problem is inherating IE rendaring capabilities to iView(i.e iFrame). is there any way to do that?

  • Change page attribute with JavaScript

    Hi,
    hope someone can help.
Is it possible to change a BSP page attribute with JavaScript??
I have a JavaScript array with some serialnumbers. After push a save button, i want to save the array data into a page attribute.
    Some ideas?
    Regards Anton

    Hi,
The only way of passing vars from JS to page attributes is submitting them via (hidden) values in a form or via params in an URL.
Alternatively, you can try to let JS store things in a client cookie and let the BSP read that cookie.
I didn't try that out yet though.

  • Printing PDF attachments with Javascript?

I am very new to Javascript (and not a programmer) so please excuse my basic or un-correct terminology here! I've created an interactive pdf, and have set buttons (with javascript code) to print specific ranges of pages from the document. I've now been asked to have said buttons print attachments (which are also pdf's) in the same style... is this possible, and if so, does anyone have example code? The code that I used to print the page ranges, for example:
    print ({nStart: 0, nEnd: 5});
Any assistance/guidance/help would be greatly appreciated!

The document first has to be opened. You can do this via JavaScript with the doc.openDataObject method: http://livedocs.adobe.com/acrobat_sdk/9.1/Acrobat9_1_HTMLHelp/JS_API_AcroJS.88.509.html
This method returns a doc object, which you can use with the print method to print the document. You should then use the closeDoc method to close the document, as mentioned in and demonstrated in the documentation linked to above.

  • Setting User Preferences With Javascript In Acrobat X

    Hi All,
Is there a way thru Javascript to programatically set a value in the User Preferences?
I am trying to create a batch sequence that exports PDFs to HTMLs. In the Acrobat X preferences, there is a conversion option that sets the option of "Run OCR If Needed" to true or false.
Edit --> Preferences --> Convert From PDF --> HTML --> Run OCR if needed (True|False)
Depending on conditions, I need to programtically set the value of this preference during the batch sequence before I export the document to HTML. Is this possible? Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
    Thank you,
    Teri

There are very few user preferences that can be controlled with JavaScript, and this isn't one of them.

  • Change TextView value with Javascript

    Hello,
I'm trying to find a way of changing the value of an HTMLB TextView on the client side with javascript.
Do you know how to do that ? Cannot work it out...
    Many thanks
    Nicolas

    Hi,
this can be a bit tricky, because you have to know, how to access the element. that means you need an unique id or an absolute position of the TextView-element
if you can see, how to access the specific element in your client-pagesource, a possible javascript could be:
    document.getElementById("<id of element>").firstChild.nodeValue="My new Text"
or access by name/count of the element:
    document.getElementsByName("<name of element>")[#position of occurance].firstChild.nodeValue="My new Text"

  • Change "choiseListe" values with javascript

    Dear,
Is it possible to change "choiseListe"  values  with javascript.
Exemple il have a choseListe :
         Country //// Values
          USA            us
          France         fr
          Spain           sp
When il click in a botton i whant to change this choceListe :
         Country //// Values
          Morocco           ma
         Portugal           pt
    Thanks

    Hi,
Listboxes and dropdowns can be scripted against without too much difficulty.
You would need something like this in the click event of the button:
    listbox1.rawValue = null; //clear previous choice
    listbox1.clearItems(); //clear the list items
listbox1.addItem("Moocco", "ma"); //add new list items
    listbox1.additem("Portugal", "pt");
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Replacing comma with Javascript

    Hi,
How to replace commas in an array with Javascript???
For eg, i have an array that contain the values 1,2,3,4.
Here i want to remove the comma. So the solution i am looking for is
    1234.
How to do this. Can we the Java functions like replace() in javascript?
How to import the Java classes in Javascript???
Please do provide a solution for this.
    Regards,
    M.Ananthu

I'm not aware of any mechanism in Javascript that can help with this. In our fully-internationalized web applicaiton we choose to perform all locale-dependent validation server-side. This includes dates, numbers, currency values etc. About the only thing we check in Javscript is that required fields are filled in.
I'd be interested in knowing if anyone has solved this in Javscript. Its possible that you could dynamically generate a Javscript validation routine based on the locale-specific formatting symbols, but we decided it wasn't worth it.

  • How to detect JRE with Javascript and without any help of class file

Please tell me how to detect JRE with using the Applet file. Is it possible to detect only through Javascript

It is possible to detect the Sun JRE using only Javascript without any class file.
However, it is rather complicated due to difficulties with Internet Explorer.

  • Changing applet parameters with Javascript

Is it possible to have an applet read a param value which has been changed with Javascript after the applet loads?
I've tried changing the param value in this way, but the applet doesn't read the new value. It reads the default value in the HTML when the applet loads, and getParameter is in the main loop of the applet which runs and updates other (internal) values fine...

Well that page says that param values can't be changed at run-time. Never mind though because I read some more and found out how to implement a method in the applet (which can be called from Javascript) that reads the host page's DOM, thereby achieving the same result.
    Thanks for the pointer.

  • Controlling Flash timeline with Javascript

I have a project I'm taking over from a Flash designer. The
way he created the project isn't the way I would have done it, and
I'm trying to salvage what is there. My question: Is it possible to
control the timeline of an .swf from Javascript?
Basically, the movie has four different sections, each noted
with a frame label. I'd like to be able to have the user click on a
text link in HTML, and using javascript, load the movie in a new
window, and immediately go to the frame label specified.
    Is this possible?

Yes, Flash and Javascript can communicate. I would try using
    the toolkit from

  • Resize and hide a movie with JavaScript Fonctions

    Hello,
I've read your topic about JavaScript Scripting Guide for QuickTime and I want to know if there is a solution for to rezise and to hide movie with JavaScript fonctions.
    Thank in advance

It is very strange, most users who have focus on JS try to do everything with it, whereas lot of simple actions can easily be done with advanced/shared actions. I will only go to JS when it is not possible with advanced/shared actions.
You are lucky, I was just restarting to work on an advanced training for next week when your question showed up.
