Possible to make clients sharepoint alias direct to new server sharepoint?

I'm replacing a Mac OS 10.2 server with a 10.6 server. Ideally, the (approximately 100) client machines' network aliases would, somehow, find the shared folders on the new server. "Somehow" in my mind, would be for the new server to assume the IP of the old one, and if necessary replicate the path to the shared folder(s).
My experimentation tells me this is not possible*, but I don't want to believe it.
Background - I have no DNS on the LAN; the aliases were setup using the 'Connect to Server' command with the (static) IP of the server.
* I renamed the new server, could no longer authenticate to it, and had to erase the HD and re-install and re-setup. hrmph!

It's clean enough, although if I remember correctly you can't bulk upload the data to an external list. If bulk upload isn't available, writing a little script that syncs the data is probably the easiest way to do it, and then delete the old list.

I have numerous PDF's in a document library. When the PDF opens in the browser, the PDF's contain links to various other sites; however, when the user clicks the link on the PDF from the document library, the link opens in the same window as the PDF. I would

I have searched Google but cannot find anything for SharePoint 2013. We are hosting our SharePoint on the Office 365 package. I found one solution that is repeated on many forums, but I do not see the "Convert to XSLT data view" anywhere
in SharePoint designer 2013. The solution states:
"Edit the document library in SharePoint Designer.
1. Open the site in SharePoint Designer and then open the document library allitems.aspx.
2. Right-click the document library web part and select “Convert to XSLT data view”.
3. Locate the name column, you will see this tag “<A onfocus="OnLink(this)" HREF="{@FileRef}"….. ”, add “target=”_blank”” in tag.
4. After this, the documents will be opened in a new window."
I do see my allitems.aspx and can open that with a text editor. The contents of that file are:

Not possible to make full check in email client?

I saw that doesn't exist the possibility to make a "full check - check all" into the email settings.
Is nice that the checks can be done individually, but I think will be useful to have a "check all" option, in case that you want to move all emails into another folder for example (supposing that you have hundreds of emails, which is another issue because the email client is not able to save the received messages)

You can check all in the Hub for emails or text to mark them read or delete, but no option to move all. Just click an hold on the date and slider appears on the right to Mark all read or delete.

Is it possible to show a 'My Activity' web part on a SharePoint site if 'My Sites' is not available?
For example, say there's a SharePoint installation dedicated to particular (custom) SharePoint site. The users go to the site to carry out their tasks. There's no 'My Site' set up in this installation (and for other reasons I'm told it's not an option).
Is it possible to show a web part here that shows the user's recent activity? The built-in web part for this fails with the error 'Invalid URI: The URI is empty', and the details of it appear to say it's looking for the user's My Site to find out what to show:

So, while I'd be happy to write a web part (or app part) to display the information instead of using the default part, I'm not sure SharePoint is even storing the activity in a way I can access.
Some pages like the following: http://sharepointmystery.com/2012/07/22/activity-feeds-in-sharepoint-2013/ make me think it won't be possible - it says: 'The major change from 2010 is that all the [activity] content is stored in the user’s personal site, not
in a common database.'
Are activity feeds dependent on 'My Sites' or is there a way to access the information when 'My Sites' is not present in the deployment? I can't find a definitive answer in Microsoft's documentation.

To clarify, do you have the User Profile Service (including MySite Host) up and running on this environment? That's subtley different to the full MySite experience which is clearly not applicable...
Interesting question - thanks for that. Until now I didn't realise there was a difference.
The User Profile Service is up and running, but no MySite Host is set. (I don't believe MySite will be available anywhere here. I guess that means there's no valid MySite Host for me to use.)

1. Is it possible to make .exe file in Oracle Forms 6i ?
2. In Oracle 7.3 / Forms 4.5/ Reports 2.5, it was necessary to install Oracle Enterprise at the server and install forms and reports runtime at the nodes. What is the case with Oracle 8i and Forms 6i and Reports 6i.
Do we need to install the runtime at the nodes.
3. If I develop a software using D2k (Forms 6i/Reports 6i) using Oracle 8i, what is required at the client's place to run it. Do they need to buy Oracle 8i as well as D2k(in full) or D2K Runtime is seperately available?

- You cannot create a single exe file for Forms. You will have to install the runtime and then deploy the application fmx files.
To deploy, you will need to install the Forms runtime on each machine which will be running forms. So if you are running client server and you have 100 client machine you would do 100 installs. Alternatively, if you are installing on the Web then you install the runtime on a server and your 100 clients only need to connect from browser.
I'm not sure how the licencing sales are worked out - your account manager would have a better idea but you don;t have to have an 8i for every client (!) - the Forms runtime and the database are separate.

There are two possible form types that you can add to your website. One is using a 3rd party form provider that, when filed in and sent, goes directly to you. Expamples of them, JotForm and Wufoo can be seen here: Add Form
Further down that page is the second type, Form action forms, that use the visitors email application to send the response. That may put off responders. Take a look at both types.

That was the first step.
In the second step, you need to create a JDBC System in the portal. Go through the following doc which explains how to create BI JDBC system for VC. All you need to change is that on Page 10, choose JDBC system instead of BI JDBC system, and do the necessary configurations.

As rightly said by Marcel, you can use stored procedures as well as SQL statements. As far as stored procedures are concerned, all you need to do is go to Enterprise Manager, and create procedures in your database in the same way by which you create new tables and users (Refer my article). Then you can use these procedures in your Visual Composer provided you have properly created the JDBC system in portal properly.

Mine works with the tel URL syntax already in there.
A couple of thoughts, if that's not working for you you could make your own hyperlink to look something like this:

We have the clients install the forms runtimes before installing our application.
As an alternative, you can use the Oracle installer to install both the Forms Runtime and the forms files. You need to search Oracle TechNet for the Oracle Installer documentation. The oracle Installer does not build a single executable, but can handle installing both the Forms Runtime and the Application in one step.

Alias directive value

You can find it in your httpd.conf (or any of the included files).
AFAIK it is not possible to get the value from apache with some server directive / environment variable.

Alias directive case-sensitive?

I've come across an issue with the Alias directive... I set an alias in the ServerAdmin and realized that upon saving it converted everthing in the target path to lowercase.
The directive subsequently did not work. When I edit the path manually via the shell to be uppercased, the directive works fine.
My filesystem (per Disk Utility) is HFS Journaled, bot NOT case sensitive. So what gives? Is this a bug in the WebAdmin (shouldn't really convert to lowercase, should it?) or a bug in mod_alias? Or am I missing something alltogether?

I do not know of a fix but I have implemented a work around.
1. Quit Server Admin as you are about to edit the config files by hand.
2. Open terminal and go to the sites directory containing the config files. Apologies for not being more specific, but it's been a while since I have had to edit these files and I am no longer dealing with a server.
3. Open the desired site conf file in your choice of editor. You will probably need to sudo to gain privileges to save the changes.
4. Find the section that contains all the aliases. I think this is the <IfModule mod_alias.c> section. Take note of the format of the aliases.
5. Add an Include directive (http://httpd.apache.org/docs/1.3/mod/core.html#include) to include a file that you will create in a few steps. This file will contain aliases defined by hand. For example, if my web site was website.com I might call the file website_aliases.conf.
6. Save your edits and quit editing the file.
7. Create the file you referenced in the include directive and place your aliases in there. Example line from website_aliases.conf: Alias /image /ftp/pub/image
Check and make sure the privileges on the new file match the privileges of the other conf files.
Server Admin will not bother the include directive and will not touch any entries in the extra file referenced in the include directive. Server Admin will also not be aware of any of the aliases in the extra file referenced. This means that all aliases containing upper case letters must be manually entered.
Caution: My description is purposely vague in places because messing with config files by hand can get you into trouble if you are not careful. (Or I simply forgot to mention something My advice would be to use apachectl configtest to check your changes before you attempt to soft restart the web server. If you have made a mistake, the web server will fail to restart.
As far as restarting the web server after making changes to any apache config file, you can either use apachectl from the command line or simply open Server Admin, select the web server service, and toggle an option. This will cause the save button to be enabled and cause apache to soft restart and reread it's configuration.

Well, there is no direct way to do it but you could use a screen recorder to make an mp4. Then you can import the mp4 in PS and if you have the plugin for gif then you just save aa a gif.

I'd like to clarify a little.
You <b>cannot </b>restore directly an Oracle backup from HPUX to Windows.
As it is a different OS it is called "Heterogeneus" system copy.
If you want to create a sand box, then ( not knwing your DB version ) you will have to export the data with R3load and import it on the new system.

The exact location depends on the SAP Version.
If you are already on Oracle 10, perhaps you can take a look at the note <a href="http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1003028">1003028: Enhanced support for system copy in BR*Tools</a> as it explain a method to use transportable tablespaces for the heterogeneus system copy.
