Possible to process multiple files from one folder?

Hi All,
I have a scenario where four files with different structures will generarted at a folder and these four files need to pick up and process them to find dublicates and merge them... Is it possible? How BODS will identify these four files as they have different strucutres?? Please suggest.

Hi Rajeev,
Only if the structures are the same then you can use wildcards in the filename. Do your files have a header record ? If yes, then it's a really quick and easy job to create four file formats since BODS will generate most of the field names and datatypes using the header récord and sample data, once it locates the file and you specify to skip the header record.
If you really wanted to have only one file format then you would need to define it with a single very long varchar field and then do the parsing of the single long string manually in a Query for each file, using the filename to identify which file structure it is. Way more work and not an elegant solution.

Move files from one folder to another javascript?

I am running a 3-action droplet automatically using windows task scheduler. Here are the 3 steps:
1.    Batch file to move files from hot folder to processing folder
2.    Run IPP (dr brown's image processor pro) using preloaded settings to make several sizes copies of the files.
3.    Bat file to move the files from processing folder to archive folder.
The problem I am observing is that Step 1 works and IPP begins to run. It only processes the first few images, and then moves on to the 3rd step where the bat file is ran to move all files from processing folder to archive folder.   The trouble is, only a few images were processes (about 10 or so), yet all of the images get moved to the archive without being processed. Is there a way to make sure that step 2 (IPP) doesn’t begin until all files have successfully been moved from the hot folder to the processing folder? IPP starts right away and files are still being transferred to the processing folder.
Does anyone have a script that will move files from one folder to another?

I'm sure I have see a way to close down Photoshop in a Photoshop script. I never had the need to. It may be a simple statement like app.close(); I don't know javascript and only hack Photoshop script mostly by looking at others code. app.close(); is a guess on my part. Let me try it. I was wrong its photoshop.quit();

Move files from one folder to another

I am brand new to the application and have spent a ton of time googling various topics, but need some additional help. Seems easy enough, but I can't figure out how to do it...
I would like to move pics from one folder to another. I can drag files from one folder to another, but they still reside in the original folder as well. Is there a way to cut and paste or a similar function to accomplish this move?

Hey, HawaiianHaole, as a multidecade Mac user, let me tell you, Aperture is about the worst example of Mac-iness one could imagine. Ironic, as it's (of course) made by Apple. Please don't make Aperture the basis for your judgement of the Mac OS. Many long time Mac users are having as much trouble with Aperture as you. Mac OSX has significantly reduced customizability but at the benefit of much improved stability and indeed usability. Old school Mac users had to learn to accept this, which most did. You'll hear people talk about the "Way of the Steve". As irksome as Aperture can be, you'll actually have a better time of it if you adopt the Way of the Steve, and accept that you can't do things the way you might want to. This is imho antithetical to the original Mac many of us knew and loved, but it's the way things are today, so we mostly shut up and take it. You can fight with your software all day, or just accept that there are ways you have to adopt and adapt to them.

On my MacBookPro I am trying to move files from one folder to a BSB drive. I can copy, but I do not want the files left in the original location. What do I do?

Drag the files, or press Option when pasting them; this accesses the Move To function.

I suddenly can't move files from one folder to another in my FlashHelp project.

I have RH8 (8.02). I have been working on this project for a couple of years now.
What changed? I had imported a Word document and then removed the document and the folder it created from the Project Manager. Now I cannot move any of my files from one folder to another in the Project Manager pod. I susptected a corrupt CPD file so I closed the project, deleted the CPD file. Next I opened Robo from Programes (I never open from the .xpj file), went to Tools>Options and deleted the pinned most recently used project. Select Open, and locate/open the xpj file. I've also re-generated the output (no errors) and completed all these steps again. Of course Robo only goes haywire on me right before I have to publish for our new software release.

From what I'm seeing my own guess here is that RoboHelp is still believing that the content belongs to word.
I might suggest the following steps.
Open Winows Explorer and make copies of the HTML files involved. Then from RoboHelp, delete or remove the content. Then use the Import function to add the desired HTML files back into the project into the desired folder.
My thought is that by taking these steps you will have effectively disassociated Word and the topics should now be independent topics that RoboHelp should allow you to manage as you wish.

Why can't i move files from one folder to another by sliding them?

Go to Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences trash these files:
com.apple.finder.plist
com.apple.sidebarlists.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

Moving files from one folder to another caused freeze

I now have a list of files stuck in the center of my screen.
I'm sure a reboot will fix this (I hope!) but I thought it was a bug worth reporting.
All I did was move a copy a collection of files from one folder to another folder. It made the "move" sound, and the files have been copied, but something clearly went wrong

Have java.io.File objects pointing to the three folders. Get the list of all the files in the folder. Start a loop and check if the filename ends with Data.dat. If it is so then copy file to the final folder.
To Copy file you can use any of the two approaches.
1. You can read that file as byte stream (java.io.FileInputStream) and write it to the other folder as bytes (java.io.FileOutputStream).
2. You can use shell commands to do this. (java.lang.Runtime.exe() method)

OS X is all about keyboard shortcuts.
To cut       cmd+x
To copy     cmd+c
To paste    cmd+v
With the Mouse, hold command and drag to your destination.

Can't process multiple files on one of three catalogs

After getting straightened out about getting my catalogs in order, which I've done, I've run into another problem. I have three catalogs one for People, one for Things and one I call Workplace where I try out things that are new to me so I don't mess up my main catalogs.
I've straightened out the files in my Things catalog. I have one catagory that contains images of autograph book pages from the late 1800s. Those scans were done in JPEG some time ago. I've tried using multiple processing to change these 55 images to psd in the original file to be consistent with the rest of the catalog. Each time the process fails.
In order to see what the problem might be I have copied the catagory file into both of my other catalogs and have been able to process the catagory file back into itself as psd. I have also created another small file in the Things catalog and tried to convert it and had the same result. The warning info box that appears when copying back into the same file states that the original files will be overwritten. The psd files do not overwrite the jpg files. They are added to the original file. That may be the way it is intended to be. That's not a real problem.
The real question is why can't I process multiple files in the original catalog. I have looked at the error file and, although I don't know much about most of it, I found the following in the first part of the file.
crash exception="EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION"
I run XP SP3 and PSE 8. I am a single user with administrator rights. I find no mention of a permission filter in the PSE 8 program.
I'm stuck until I solve this problem and I need help getting it done. Any suggestions or information will be greatly appreciated.

One thing to try : instead of using 'process multiple files', can you use the 'export' feature in the Organizer to export the jpegs of that category in psd format into a new folder ?

Reading multiples files from a folder and processing

Hello everyone,
Im working on a project to analyst and process Acoustic Emission Signals. My problem is that I have a folder that containts several files .txt. Every file contains 16 waveforms (16 channels) that I need to process with an equation to detect the arrival times of the waves.
I have been working in this way : Running the labview code that open the file that I select .. then the processing happens on every wave and I click stop to select the file where I want to save the solutions. The solutions is only a vector of the 16 arrival times detected. Then I have to stop the code (by clicking Abort Execution) and repeat the process ... Run the code and bla bla bla .. and save on the same solution file that I used before.
The ideal situation is to read the files whitout stoping the execution of the code .. For example clicking a buttom to pass to the next file and saving all the solutions to the same file. That is beacause sometimes Im going to have more than a 100 files and this will give me a hard time if a forget in which file I was working. The idea is to make an automatic process.
Please .. I have been trying to find a solution to this while Im working in other part of the code. If someone could suggest me a solution it would be great.

Well Im sorry if I didn't post my .vi ... I was working on it ... and I found a solution (whit some help that I found on the forums) but Im not happy at all ... because I still have to give the last part of the file name.
For example at the beginning I have to input the file name without the final number of the event ...
C:\Users\Irish\Desktop\Hydraulic Fracturing\E1_evento
then I finish adding the file number that I want to process on the folder
C:\Users\Irish\Desktop\Hydraulic Fracturing\E1_evento2.txt or 9.text or ... just the number ...
This is the case when I want to process every file specifying the file .. but what could you suggest me to do process all the data file by file ?
I attached the part of the code that Im using for this specific problem ...
