Possible to synch with two calendars?

I use an iPod touch to synch with my home Mac with my personal calendar. Can I also sync with my work Outlook calendar but keep the home and work calendars separate so that when syncing at home my work items don't show up on the mac and when syncing at work the home items don't show up on the corporate system?
Any way to do this syncing at work without iTunes?
Thanks.

No, you'd need to use iTunes at work to sync, unless you are able to access your work email/calendar via Exchange (but then you'd lose the iTunes sync capability at home and have to switch to MobileMe for iCal).
Alternatively, you can use a utility like O2M or the free iAppointto export your Outlook calendar as a .ics file, bring it home on a flash drive or email it to yourself, then import that into a new calendar on your Mac and sync it that way. Note that this option has some difficulty with recurring appointments in Outlook and Leopard's iCal.

  • How do I synch with google calendar?

I can synch my google calender to my iPhone 5 calender, but I can't get it to work the other way around.  I've tried setting up an Exchange account, a CalDAV account, and my standard Gmail account (that I started with) and none of it changes the problem.  Any advice?

    Sorry
    I asked the wrong question
I realize if I do it that way I end up with two calendars, mobile me and google. I want the mobile me and google to be one and the same. Is that possible? So when I synch with my phone and mobile me it updates google but not in a separate calendar.
When I followed the import directions on google I ended up with two calendars on my phone, mobile me and google. I want them to be merged.
    Thanks

  • Synch with Yahoo Calendar

I have a new computer and downloaded Blackberry Desktop ver 6.0.2.44. I am unable to synch with yahoo calendar. It looks like it picks up the info from the count bu then I get error message "connection to yahoo server lost" What is the fix?
    BIll

    Try this:
    http://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=content&id=SLN5728&actp=search&viewlocale=en _US&searchid=1349366800736&locale=en_US&y=PROD_MAIL_ML
Instead of signing up for calendar, sign up your yahoo e-mail.  Then go to system prefs>Mail, Calendar and Contacts
There you can check Calendar and if you wish un-check e-mail.
Calendar has been syncing with no errors since I did this.
    Success!

  • ICalendar synching with multiple calendars

I work for different people and therefore need to keep different calendars for each person. I currently color code the different people, however, I am now looking to be able to synch up with everyone's calendars using their .Mac accounts. I have an iMac at home, which currently has 3 different users set up (one for me, one for my husband and one for shared/admin use). Question: in order to keep calendars separate and be able to synch with my various client's .MAC accounts, do I create additional users in order to keep the calendars separate?

Thank you for your response. Here's the thing:
I work for different people and keep their separate calendars. Therefore, when I synch to their separate .Mac to update their separate calendars, I do not want to synch everyone's calendar information on their .Mac account, but only the information pertaining to them individually. I have generally done this from their own office computers, but since I do some of this work from home, I would like to be able to synch the calendars onto my own laptop as well.
The question is whether I need to create different user within my own laptop for each client, to do this, or is it possible to only synch a particular within one user. Or
    Does that make sense?

  • ICal Alerts Disappear (synching with Google Calendar)

I'm synching three Google Calendars to iCal: two work accounts and a personal account, all running on Google apps. These calendars are all synched to my iPhone as well. I have the default alert setting in iCal set at 10 minutes. The problem is that the alerts don't seem to be synching up to Google calendar.
I noticed that none of my alerts were happening. After being late for a couple meetings as a result of this, I investigated. Here's what I've gathered.
The default alert don't seem to stick.
Additional alerts created in iCal don't stick either.
Alerts created on my iPhone stick and synch up to Google Apps just fine - they show up in the Google Apps web interface as expected. However, these alerts dont' synch down to iCal.
The problem is universal across all three accounts.
Unlike the ongoing "can't delete events via iCal" issue that's well documented (and incredibly still not fixed) there's no mention of an alerts synch issue on the CalDAV known issues page.
I had originally set up the Google accounts to have no default reminders added, so I wouldn't have to deal with the extra email/SMS reminders. I have now added a ten minute reminder to all these accounts as a workaround. Now, when I create events in iCal, the ten minute reminder sticks. I have no real idea how this works, but it's as if when synching, iCal sees that Google Apps has a ten minute reminder as well, and there's no conflict. However, if I change the reminder interval, it just disappears. Also if I add a second reminder, say 40 minutes to remind me to leave to drive somewhere, those simply disappear as well. It seems like the correct behavior would be to pass up whatever reminder is set in iCal to Google Apps - that's not happening.
This is happening in iCal 5.01, running on OS X 10.7.2. Really frustrating - anyone have any ideas on how to fix or further troubleshoot? Thanks!

So I got to researching again today, because the utility of calendars is greatly reduced without functioning reminders.
There's a thread over on Google Groups that started in December about this very issue. There wasn't much helpful info until two days ago when someone posted about types of alerts and support between Google and iCal:
If you set the default reminder in your google calendar preferences, when you add an event in ical, the default reminder shows up.
In google I selected "pop-up" for my default reminder type.
When you look at the type of reminder that is set in ical, if you had selected "pop-up" in google, you'll see ical calls it "message".
I've always preferred to use the "message with sound" option in ical. So I tried changing my default alarm within ical.
The reminder/notification/alarm disappeared when I changed it to "message with sound".
When I added a new reminder that was just a message, it showed up, and didn't instantly dissapear. It also synced with my google calendar as expected.
I can live without the "boink" sound when my alerts pop up on screen, so long as they're popping up and not disappearing. Hope this helps some, at least until it starts working like it used to.
I had looked at the type of messages supported, but assumed that "message with sound" would simpy become "message" which is a "popup" to Google. Seems like that would be a more elegant handling of message incompatibility - "translate" the alert to a similar alert type, instead of just dumping it. Lame.
Anyway - this is good enough. I don't care as much about the sound as simply having reminders again.

  • Why are some of my recurring events not synching with my calendar on my ipad2?, Why are some of my recurring events not synching with my calendar on my ipad2?

I use multiple calendars and one of them includes all my recurring events such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. That calendar shows as included in my iCloud and it seems that all of the events synch with my iPhone, but very few of the recurring events synch with my iPad2. I can't identify any difference between those that do synch and those that don't.
    Any suggestions??

Did you try to deselect all apps, sync to remove them all.
If you where able to remove all of them, sync them back.
Resetting the sync history in iSync may also be helpful.

  • Problem Synching with Google Calendar

Having difficulty syching 8900 with Google calendar. Downloaded google synch to phone. When I check the Calendar Properties it show Wireless Synchroniztion as "No". It won't let me change this.. When I try to synch. I get the message that says"Login failed, due to network problems, please check your settings" Service is with Tmobile. Not sure which settings are not right.

The calendar options should say no. It will only say "yes" is if you're on a BES. I think I had that error when I first started using Google Sync a while ago. I think I just uninstalled and reinstalled the program after getting that error a few times and then I was able to log in and setup the program

  • Synching with Zimbra Calendar

I'm trying to synch with Zimbra, and it's asking for an iCal URL. Anyone know where to find this, or what specifically this means? Does it require a .mac account?

    Chris,
An iCal URL should be available for any published calendar which is published either on .Mac or a private WebDAV server. The URL will appear when the calendar is published.
You may have better luck obtaining more thorough answer from Zimbra Support.

  • Slow synch with huge calendar

I have a Torch 9800, Outlook 2003 and Blackberry Desktop Manager 6 that is really slow (>15Min) synching.  There is 28000 records in the calendar, but I did try and change the synch to only look at the past 30 days and 365 days into the future.  Does anyone have tips to speed this up?
Note: CPU is at around 20% when doing synch
desktop manager  7 was tried, but it would hang on the synch

OK, I did some testing and can confirm that backup AND Bonsai are my problems.  Here are the sync times:
    FULL = 23 minutes
    NO Backup / Bonsai = 5 minutes
    NO Backup = 13 minutes
    NO Bonsai = 12 minutes
For comparison, a full sync on my older XP desktop took 3 minutes.
I'm OK with turning backup off by default (thanks Reb1) but I have to have Bonsai sync each time.  Are there any Bonsai users around here?  Natara's forum (maker of Bonsai) isn't very active.  I'm running Bonsai desktop 4.2.7 and 4.2.5 on my T|3.  I also have Back-2-Bonsai turned on (links Bonsai to Palm To Do DB) but I don't use it so I may experiment with turning this off.
Any thoughts on how to speed up the Bonsai part of my sync?
    Thanks,
    Mike

  • Synching with two Macs

I have had my iPod Touch synched to the Apple address book and calendar on my iMac G5. Now, I have just bought a 13" MacBok, and I would like to synch my iPod Touch to that as well, but I'm afraid that the first time I do so, the empty files from the MacBook address book and calendar will empty those on the iPod Touch, and I will be worse off than when I started. Also someone told me that you are only able to synch an iPod to one computer. I know I could just join MobileMac, but I would like to avoid that option – there's enough expense and complexity in my life already. Any advice would be most appreciated.

If it were me, I would wait until my primary Mac was available.

  • Is it possible to communicate with two different devices using two seperate serial ports in the same labview program?

The two bits of the program will talk to each instrument successfully if the other part of the program is not running. i do not need them to communicte with both serial ports at the exact same time, just within the same program, one after the other. i am using labview 6. any ideas of what i could be doing wrong?

    Hello,
If you are using the Legacy serial VIs, you should really switch to the VISA VIs. Also make sure you are opening a session to each of the com ports at the beginning of the program and closing each at the end of the program. Problems can arise if your try to open a session to a port that already has a session open. Also you should update LabVIEW to 6.0.2
If you are still having problems post the error code and error message you are getting.

  • OPM Inventory and Cost Calendars not in synch with GL Calendar

What are the risks to the OPM subledger and GL of not having calenders in OPM the same open/close dates as GL?

Normally there is a sequence of period and application close. After performing period close you are suppose to run the reports to validate and reconcile data. Now if you have closed say inventory period and performing inventory valuation, you won't able to reconcile to GL balance. Closing period helps to keep integrity and find out issues if any.
In ideal conditions it may not matter if two are not in synch, but real word issues (both technical and business) make it very difficult to maintain. Benefits of keeping in synch normally way more than not keeping in synch.
