Posting msgs based on populated fields

I have a field on a form called CLOSING_DATE which decides if a record should stay closed or opened (archive the record and don't show the record to the user or continue to show the record to user). That is, when a user enters a CLOSING_DATE, I want to ask the user if they really want to close the record by displaying a msg on a wondow with the YES and NO button. If the user clicks on YES, I want to set the status of the record to CLOSED and archive it (don't show records with CLOSED status to users), and if the user clicks on NO, I want to leave the record the way it is and clear the CLOSING_DATE field.
I have a trigger that monitors the CLOSING_DATE field and as soon as the CLOSING_DATE is populated, trigger will fire and the status of record will be changed to CLOSED.
However, I am having issues with the msg box asking the user if he/she wants to close the record. How can I setup this msg box based on CLOSING_DATE field being populated. Please note that I want to ask the user for confirmation PRIOR to user saving the record with a CLOSING_DATE.

Sure...
1. Modify the code sample to fit you page. This just means change PXX_CLOSING_DATE to fit your page number and get the submit values as you would like as well.
2. Place the code sample in the HTML Header of the page.
3. Configure your submit button to use the Option URL Redirect,Type = URL, and enter the following for the URL:
javascript:comfirm_close_record();
4. Make sure that your processes have conditions or conditional logic that picks up on the value of the request. This can be referenced with :REQUEST
If you need more help, please put up an example on apex.oracle.com and provide credentials that I can use to get it and get it working for you.

i am looking for a way to change a field based on another field. if i have item 2 and item 8 on the page and item 8 needs to be required based on item 2 based on a requirement, how would this be done.
ex if item 2 has a PO inputed, when it is moved off the field, item 8 should be changed from required false to required true. i have tried in both the process request and process form request with no luck

Ordering/Ranking based on Character field

I need to ordering/Rank a column based on varchar field.
Here is my input
Create table #InputTmp
CustomerNumber Varchar(10),
AccountNumber Varchar(10)
Insert into #InputTmp
Select '1234','123121'

Union All

Union All
Select '434','232122'
Expected output:
here because customer number is same (1234) for first records i need assign 1 to 123121 and 2 to 4728272. if the customer number is not repeating then i have populate 1 in ordering field.
I have do it without using WITH clause.

I have a unique requirement.We are adding a new field into our system and want to know which all t-code contains that field ? So that we can update the user training manual. Can some one tell me the ways and means of finding the list of all the t-code ( or where used e.g functional area ) based on " a field" ?

2. click on the text "Cost Center"
3. hit F1
4. Click on the technical information
5. in the next screen double click on Field name :KOSTL
6. Select the row for the component KOSTL
7. Click on the display list
8. In the next screen, in the object name:KBAS
Drilldown to transactions.
Here you get a complete list of the transactions.

I am looking for an user exit which allows me to hide some fields based on other field's value.
For example, I have field 1 and field 2. When I open my notification, if the value of field 2 is 'aaa', field 1 has to be hidden.
There should be an user exit but I can't find it...

Table Control: make a field editable or not based on another field value

HI All,
How to make a column field input enabled or disabled based on another field value in a Table Control.
Here's the scenario:
I have a table control with two columns, KTOKK and LIFNR. Now for certain KTOKK, the LIFNR field should be editable and for certain KTOKK it should not be editable.
Eg., KTOKK = 0001 => LIFNR field is not editable.
KTOKK = ZKTO => LIFNR field is editable.
But these fields are in a table control.
Please advice.

Multiple IDOCs based on multiple fields in File to IDOC mapping

Hello Experts,
     I have a requirement to create multiple IDOCs based on multiple fields.
     Earlier my requirement is to create IDOCs based on ShipID (i.e., for every ShipID new IDOC...I achieved this).
     But now the requirement was to create IDOC based on two more fields like
Source:
     ShipID1
     FieldA with value1
     FieldB with value1
Target :
     1 IDOC to create
and If
Source:
     ShipID1
     FiledA with Value2
     FiledB with Value2
     ShipID1
     FiledA with Value1
     FiledB with Value2
Target:
     2 IDOCs based on FiledA
Like wise IDOC should create for every change in FiledA and FieldB.
If FiledA and FiledB has no changes then create IDOC based on ShipID
please help me in achieving this as this is an urgent requirement.

Just concat all the three fields - shipID1, FieldA and FieldB and
remove contexts
split by value (value changed)
collapse contexts
This way whenever there is a change in any of the above fields you'll have separate IDOC..

Hi,
Let me make sure u r working with table control.
First u have to create a event(VALIDATE) to do the validation.
Inside the event,
1. First get the current index where user has pointed the curson
2. Once u get the index read the internal table with index value.
3. Now u can compare the col1 and col2 values and populate the error message.
1. DATA : lo_elt TYPE REF TO if_wd_context_element,
l_index type i.
lo_elt = wdevent->get_context_element( name = 'CONTEXT_ELEMENT' ).
CALL METHOD LO_ELT->GET_INDEX( RECEIVING MY_INDEX = l_index.
above code should be written inside the event.

Multi-mapping based on content field

Hi guys,
I'm doing a scenario with mult-imapping 1x2, based on content field I'll create message1 or message2. If the source content has both key fields (ex. A = message1 and B = message2) the scenario works well, but if only one key field comes (ex. A to create only message1), an error occurs inside the transformation step of BPM. It seams BPM is waiting for message2 ...
(note: I'm using BPM because one of these messages is an IDoc)
Anyone has faced this issue?

Thanks for the prompt answers.
I already have the occurrences with 0..1 (optional) and it doesn't work :s If I look into message mapping, I see that message1 and message2 are always 1..1 and there is no way to change it. In the messages tab you can only change the occurrence for the low level of each message1 or message2. Every time I test this mapping the header of message2 is always created even without content and thats the problem and I don't know how to fix it...
Any ideas?
