Posting period is showing in future date

Hi,
This is issue am facing in my IDES system.
The error it is showing is as below:
Posting only possible in periods 2015/03 and 2015/02 in company code z001  and message number M7053
other inputs: MMRV :  Current peiod   : 03 2015
                                       Previous period: 03 2015
                                   Last period in previous .year 12 2014
And one more input about this is, in my system  the system timing was showing 2011, this i did not recogbise, and when i tried to do the post goods issue(PGI) system shown some Posting error then i cloed the periods through MMPV t code, and closed upto 02 2015, then i reliazed why still system is allowoing to close the periods. then i checked the sytem timing and corrected it to current date.(13 th July 2014).
In OB29 my Fiscal year variant is K4 (number of posting periods 12 and no of Special periods 4) is assigned to my company code z001 in t code ob37
In OMSY "also showing the 2015 3
Now even after changing the sytem date to correct date still system is showing the periods problem, when i tried to initialize the periods in t code MMPI sytem is showing the below message "Follow the instruction note 487381 before initialiazation"
I found many treads similar to this issue, but all of them faced past date, needs to be closed the periods until current date, where as in my case the periods alredy open in future date.
am not much familiar with this periods problem as am SD consultant.
Please help to resolve this issue.

Nobody needs help of an ABAPer to close or open periods, this is just normal customizing.
Goto service.sap.com/notes and read the content of the OSS note mentioned in your message and just follow it, as it is the only way to run period initialization. It does not matter it you rolled it to far into the future or if you still have stone old periods like in the hundreds of other discussions on the same issue.
And since this is that often discussed I am locking this thread.

  • Segment Count updated date shows a future date

    Hi all,
    When the cursor is moved on the Segment's count it shows future date as 'Updated Date'.
    It's happening for the fresh update count of any Segment/Segment Tree in the application. When the cursor is moved on the counts of any segment which was updated in the past show correct date.
    We tried doing a fresh 'Update Counts' and saving the Segment, still when the cursor moved on the count it shows a future date as updated date.
    Web server and Analytics server system dates are set to correct date.
    But in the Marketing Administration tool sessions show correct dates.
    Any quick update/help is greatly appreciated.

  • Wish to include Posting Periods rather than hard coded Dates

    Hi Guys,
    I have this query that I would like to have it look for the financial year based on the posting periods rather than hard code in the year - i.e 2011. The reason being that the financial year is from 1st October to 30th September, so my query below will not give me accurate information when going from December to January as the Year is Hard Coded in currently.
    Does anyone have any ideas how I can achieve this, I must admit to be totaly stuck.

    while doing vendor creation in XK01, i m not getting the data screens like address, ..etc.i m getting error..posting period not open". what does it mean..

    Kris is right, that message means you can't post a FI document in the period 1 (probably Gennuary) of the 2008, but this can't mean you can't create a new vendor.
    So are you sure on trx?
    If the trx is right perhaps somebody has inserted a control in a user-exit.

    If you are sure Open period in MM: 01/2011 (12/2010) & 02/2011 not opened( can be cross checked in MMRV)
    As you want post in 12/2010,then use t.code: OB52 and open the 12, 2010 period in Account Types A, K, D,M, S and specially Account Type u201C+u201D which stands for valid for all accounts type and save.

    I able to post cashdesk document in customer incoming payment tab and i cannot cancel due to posting period 05 & year 2020 not open.
    Currently we are in 05 2011 not 2020, is any expert can advice where to set cashdesk fiscal year configure?
    I need to open FI period until 05 2020, then my cash document cancellation is successful.

    Hi,
    First check the Current period in OMSY trx...for your Comp code..
    Then go to MMPV and enter Comp code, Period & Year
    and execute...
    Ex: if the current period in OMSY for your Comp code is 01,2008
    then you need to enter period 02, 2008 in MMPV trx...
    so, that period 01 will be closed & Period 02 will be opened automatically...
    You need to close periods one by one like this..
    until the period you want use...
    Remember you can not Roll back the closed period
    Be careful in closing the MM period in PRD client.

    The year field on a track is showing up as "2018" on my mac and "2009" on my PC when I download the same track. Any ideas why this may be happening?

    Same here. I decided to re-download all the Itunes U material I had before under podcasts (deleted from podcast section, the re-downloaded with get-all or subscribe depending on courses)
    While the file is downloading, the track show a proper release date (say Nov 3, 2007)
    Once it is downloaded, all tracks show a future date of June 24, 2018

  • Posting Period text display

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a report where i have my GL account hierarchy on my rows and my key figure in column. i have posting period on top of my key figure and my client wants to display the report as
    jan, feb, mar etc till dec. the problem is when i run it through posting period it shows me 1, 2, 3 ...12 instead of text.
    my key figure is populating value based on user exit and i cannot use other time fields like fiscal year/period. i cannot create 12 restricted key figures as my key figure is getting value from exit variable.
    how do i change the text display for 1,2,3 .....12 to jan, feb, mar....dec. is there any sap exit text variable?

    over there display as text only and not key
    this way it iwll display just text

    u have refer above solutions as mentioned by xperts so that u can load texts for 0FISCPER3
    then follow the busines explorer tab changes i suggested...

    MM periods follow as
    First go to OMSY and check the current period for your Comp code..
    Then go to MMPV trx..
    and Enter Comp code, period & year..
    Here you need to enter the period you wants to open..
    Ex: The Current period in OMSY is 10,2007
    Then you need to enter period 11 & year 2007 in MMPV.
    So, that period 10 will be closed & Period 11 will be opened automatically..
    Like that you need to close the periods one by one till the period you want to post.
    You can not reopen the closed MM period.
    Pls becareful while doing in PRD client
    and in OB52 maintain Like this

  • Can a weekly fiscal year variant have different number of posting periods?

    Hi Friends,
    Our demand planning team needs a weekly fiscal year variant (X) that will be assigned to all material master data.  X is year dependent and needs to be consistent with our fiscail year variant Y which is assigned to all company codes.
    I input "52" as number of posting periods for X, but the problem is: every 6 years, there is an additional week in this fiscal year. 
    This means, the number of posting period is also year dependent.  Although most of fiscal years have 52 posting periods, some will have 53 posting periods instead. 
    I cannot create another fiscal year variant Z just for these 53 posting periods, because the material master data is not year dependent, I can only assign either Y or Z.
    Have you ever encountered this situation?  If so, could you please share your solution?

    You can always have 53 period year independent fiscal year variant as explained below.
    We have 365 days in normal year, and 366 days in leaf year(comes every 4 years).
    In leaf year you will get 8 days in period 9 and 1 day in period 53.
    In normal years all periods 7 days and 1 day in period 53

    You can have the same Fiscal year variant always.

  • SAP 2007 posting period problem

    Hi , Ask for help please.
    I am trying to add the invoice into system for the customers who have 60 days terms, which leads the due date falls into 2010, however the system pops out error says: invoice is not allowed cause not permission date. Just wonder why, and how can I fix it? The posting period has been set up correctly and have year 2010 . thanks

    I think you need to extend the due date upto 2010 , since you are in 2009 . Then you should be able to create your document .
    Go to current posting period and extend the due date .

    Hi All,
                On 1st of  every month we close the Previous moth Posting Period, so that No user can Add or Update any Documents which belongs to the previous month. But we had to give authorization to few managers to update.
                We tried to achieve this in this way:
                1. Previous month Posting period set to Closing Period
                2. Set Authorization to all users No Authorization for Period Status: Closing Period & Period Status: Unlocked Except Sales in Authorization window.
                3. And Set Posting Periods to NO Authorization in authorization window.
                       By Doing this should make all users who have got NO Authorization to Period Closing should not be allowed to  Update OR Add any Documents which belongs to Previous month.
                       But this is not happening. I am able to cancel the document and add the document in to previous month logging into the user who doesn't have authorizations to do so.
    Is there any other way to Achieve this.

       1. The implications of different Posting Period Status.
    When Posting Period status is set as:
    Locked
    any data entry or journal entry will be disabled for all users.
    Unlocked
    data or journal entry can be done by any user in this period provided that General Authorization does not restrict the user from certain actions.The functionality is as the following combination of fields values 'Active'=Yes, 'Locked'=No from the previous versions.
    Unlocked Except Sales
    data and journal entry can be entered within all document types appplications and tools except any Sales document under (Sales - AR). The functionality is as the following combination of fields values 'Active = No, 'Locked'= No from the previous versions. Work under this period status is allowed only for those users who have assigned 'Full Authorization' in General Authorizations form -> General group -> Period Status: Unlocked Except Sales.
    Closing Period
    data and journal entry can be performed within all document types, applications and tools. Work under this period status is allowed only for those users who have assigned 'Full Authorization' in General Authorizations form -> General group -> Period Status: Period Closing.
    NOTE: The Period Indicator set for certain Posting Period does not influence on the possibility of entering data (marketing documents and journal entries).
    NOTE: When you log to a company after its upgrade from previous versions then SAP Business One checks for "Unlocked" and "Unlocked Except Sales" periods whether their 'To Date' are older than Actual System Date. If YES those period statuses are changed to "Period Closing".
    It is also possible to switch on / off this automatic update of periodstatus and also define a delay in days. For more details please refer to the 'Automatic change of period status' section.
       1. Automatic change of period status:
    Period status of just ended posting period (based on actual system date) should be automatically changed from "Unlocked" or "Unlocked Except Sales" to "Period Closing" after the very first log into the system in a new subsequent posting period (based on actual system date) when "Automatic Change of Period Status to 'Closing Period' " checkbox is checked and value in "Date When Automatic Change Is Applied" field equels 1 (what are actually their default settings after upgrade or when new company is created). However, if authorized user would change the period status back to "Unlocked" or "Unlocked Except Sales" from "Period Closing" and the system would be started again e.g. next day or simply in a few seconds later, automatic change would not be applied any more.
    User can decide to disable function of Automatic Change of Period Status by unchecking "Automatic Change of Period Status to 'Closing Period' " checkbox.
    User can also decide to execute automatic change on the second or later day in new period or even the period after by entering a new value in "Date When Automatic Change Is Applied" field on Posting Period. When the value = 1, the change is applied on the first or later day of new period depending on the first login into the system. When the value = 2, the change is applied on the second or later day depending on the first login into the system. Default value for new company and after upgrade is 1.
       1. "Posting Date To" field is disabled.
    When you try to add a new Posting Period, SAP Business One offers the next free year which has not been defined yet. For example, when you have already defined Posting Period for 2006 year and then you want to add a new one, SAP Business One proposes you the next 2007 year (in Administration -> System Initialization -> Posting Periods -> orange arrow callingparticular posting period form -> 'Dates From... To' fields) automatically. Moreover, when you want to add a not annual period (e.g. quarter, month, etc.) then even if the "Posting Date To" field is disabled and has wrong value in process of adding, after the period is created the value of the field "Posting Date To" is recalculated and changed to correct date (usually end of the year).
       1. When any data or journal entry is being created behind some system document (exactly when a user tries to add the document), SAP Business One checks whether the entered date value in 'Posting Date' field fits any defined posting period. If NOT i.e. there is no posting period defined coveringthe entered Posting Date, the following system error message will appear as a pop-up: 'Posting Date deviates from the defined range. To complete the action, define posting period matching the entered Posting Date.'
       2. When deleting Posting Periods (by sub-periods) SAP Business One checks whether there is no data entered within the particular period, additionally SAP Business One checks if at least one very last posting sub-period remains defined in the database. If not, the deletion will not be allowed under any circumstances. As part of this restriction, the following system error message will appear for the user: 'Cannot remove the last period'.
