Power Point and Leopard

I'm not able to view my slide designs before choosing them because I can only see the name of the design, not the design itself. When the design menu window opens, there's a generic symbol for each design, with no graphics. I have to choose a design and apply it just to see what it looks like. A real pain!!
Help!

This isn't an Apple Problem. Are you using Microsoft Office? If so, Microsoft Support will help you.

If you absolutely must have the Microsoft applications, you can purchase and download them from http://microsoft.com/mac.
Free software suites LibreOffice and OpenOffice offer similar functionality (word processing and spreadsheets).
Or you could do worse than look at Apple's Pages, Numbers and Keynote, which should already be installed in your Mac and can export to Microsoft formats if need be.

My MacBook Pro with Retina display displays power point and not other windows when connected to a projector. Can anyone help out please?

You should also ask this in the MacBook Pro forum. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

  • Can I save a keynote presentation in Power Point and then use the power point on my Macbook?

My library has a Toshiba TW 650 projector that is used by PCs. I am going to be giving a presentation created on Keynote.
My DVI-VGA connector did not work for my 2009 Macbook to the projector. Can I sve the Keynote presentation to power point and then
show the presentation on a PC with the Power Point version?

    Hello redffox,
You can export the project to a .PPT file as outlined here: Keynote '09: Creating a PowerPoint slideshow http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3698
    To create a PowerPoint slideshow:
Choose Share > Export, click PPT (PowerPoint) and then click Next.
Type a name and choose a location for the file, and then click Export.
    Additional Information
Note: PowerPoint doesn’t support some Keynote features:
Some bulleted text items may be lost. If you hide the bulleted text on a slide (by deselecting Body in the Slide inspector), it is deleted from the outline when you export.
PowerPoint doesn’t support alpha-channel graphics, so if you use a photo cutout frame, the image behind it will appear in front. You may also notice slight variations in other graphics.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

Go to System Preferences - Accessibility - Voiceover - turn off Voiceover. The shortcut is command-F5, so possibly you pressed that accidentally.

  • Importing Power Point and Embedding Video in Captivate Question

I am new to Adobe Captivate, but I have heard the following:
    1)     I can import a power point slide directly into Captivate 5.5.
    2)     I can add a action buttion that when click, can play a short video embedded within one of the slides.
    My objective is:
    1)     When I click that action buttion, I want to play that short video embedded within one of the slides.
    2)     Each slide will have an action buttion, and embedded slide of video (different video).
    3)     When the video is completed, it returns back to display the original slide
    4)     The user can just look at the slide and just move to the next slide without showing the video.
To accomplish this in Captivate 5.5, can I do this ?
    1)     I understand that one must place a button on the converted slide and also embed the video to another slide.  This is done by using the tool bar.
Is it possible to do this using programing scripts or anything ???    I would have a many slides to do, and I would like to automate this process.
I would appreciate any suggestions and help.
    Thank You,

  • Financial Reporting Export in Power Point and Excel

    Hello Gurus,
I am experiencing a problem with the export of FR in .ppt and .doc.
Basically when I export in those formats the report shows only the first page unless the rows are from a row template,
any idea why this happens? any workaround to suggest?
    Thanks!

    Hi Mike,
This won't work when you export to PDF/PPT. You have to publish the SWF to the SAP BW system and launch it from there if you want to run it with live data from BW.

I just bought a macbook pro. Made a spreadshhet and a powerpoint to send to a coworker. My coworker coul not open it on work pc. I thought the compatability isses were resolved. How can I format to send to a pc?

    In Office 2011 in PowerPoint
Create or open the document that you want to check.
On the File menu, click Save As.
Click Compatibility Report and if you receive a message that you have at least one compatibility issue, click OK to look at the issues. Otherwise, click OK to close the compatibility check.  If there are compatibility issues, the Compatibility Report pane opens.
In the Compatibility Report pane, on the Check compatibility with pop-up menu, click the version of Office that the document might be opened in, and then do one of the following:
    If you want to
    Do this
Try to fix the Compatibility Report issue

Learn more about the Compatibility Report issue
Under Results, click an issue, and then click Help.
    Ignore the Compatibility Report issue
Under Results, click an issue, and then click Ignore.

Hmmm...are you by chance on BES? If so, they might have some restrictions on saving attachments (they can do things like that).
It might be that your attachment service is somehow corrupt. You should probably try pushing service books:

    and
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
I don't know why Apple recommended you to upgrade to Mountain Lion, because it shouldn't solve anything related to your documents.
As I can see, you are not using the latest Office update, so install 14.2.5 update for free > http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads?pid=Mactopia_Office2011&fid=0F4E073F-4FEC -440D-A9BF-1E01EE9E92AD#viewer If you can't install it, install 14.2.3 first

  • When I connect my MacBook Air to iPads through a powered USB hub the power cord for the hub explodes and trips the fuse on the building. I've tried different iPads, cords, power points to no avail.

When I connect my mac air to some iPads through a powered USB hub for VPP/Configurator, the power point for the hub blows out (tripping the fuse in the building). I've tried different iPads, cords, power points and of course hubs. Also the computer has a habit of shutting down when any type of USB device is removed from it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've done some experimenting, and this is what I've found out:
    1) The problem persists when I reformatted the USB HDD devices to ExFAT, so the problem apparently wasn't due to NTFS for Mac OS X by Paragon.
    2) The problem persists even when BackBlaze is paused, so I don't think that it's due to BackBlaze.
    3) The internet cuts out as soon as data begins transferring either to or from a USB HDD device and won't reconnected until I eject and unplug the device.
    4) The problem affects data transfers through either USB port.

  • FCP and Power Point

I have a power point presentation that I need to incorporate into a Final Cut project. I have no problem converting slides to video. The problem is keeping the resolution high enough to see details clearly. I have tried using power point and Keynote. Both creat files that pixelate in final cut. Any suggestions?

    Kevz,
Just a guess . . . But sometimes if the RT (Real Time) is set to Safe it can pixelate the preview to allow a real time preview instead of a 'sharper' unlimited one.
Sometimes if you can afford to (time permitting)coninue and encode the file, you may find the resolution of your original is still there.
    Hope that helps

  • Animation and Power Point : urgent

    Hi
I have to prepare a presentation very soon and i am looking
    for the following answer:
I have a Power Point presnetation witn animation and i will
like to import this power point presnetation in a Captivate
presentation. Could you tell me if it is possible to import the
power point and get also the animation.
If it is not possible to get the animation, is it possible to
export a Captivate présentation in a power point presentation.
Finally, could you tell me if it is possible to give effect
to an objet. I mean, i will like to show an object get in the slide
    slowly.
    Thank you

    Hi ocimada
I'm not suggesting what Mark offered here isn't valid. But if
you don't have quite the budget in mind for Flash or Swish...
You can accomplish the sliding in of objects using a
different product. Admittedly Flash and Swish are stronger in the
flexibility area, but there are other tools out there you can use
that are in the lower price range and without the hefty learning
curve associated with Flash or Swish. One such tool I've used in
    the past is called "Firestarter".
the site There is a free download that will let you try it out.
    Maybe it will help?
However, if you have Flash or Swish and are well versed in
using either tool, by all means use them. But my guess is that you
don't, because if you did, you wouldn't be asking the question of
    how to do it.
LOL, hey Mark. Was that by chance a Freudian slip?
(Contact me offlist if I left you wondering with
    this statement)

  • Creating something different to Power Point using YouTube video

    Hello
In two weeks, I must show a discussion about Office 2007 As a Development Platform (see http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX102204261033.aspx). But I dont want to create the classic Power Point presentation, instead something different or more interactive. For example, for the opening of my discussion, I was thinking in create a video intro like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1W85xbHGB0 (yes, I played this game: I want to replace the characters pictures (YuGi, Bakura, Marik and Seto) by Word, Excel, Power Point and Access pictures(icons). A classmate told me I can use AdobeAfter Effect, but I dont know if I want is possible to achieve. Can you help me, please?

I don't want to rain on your party, but...
Is that possible to make with After Effects? Yes, sure, no problem!
Is that possible to make with After Effects if it's your first project and have never used the software, based on some advice given on a web forum? Probably not.
