Power Point Attachments

Hello,
I'm new and this is my first post. I'll be purchasing the 2 GB, 17" iMac come spring as this is when Apple will be releasing the new OS Leopard.
My contacts send me .pps files of which I cannot view at all and being on dial-up does not help. When I was speaking with my salesperson I asked about iWorks and he told me that it will NOT help me view power point attachments. Yet I've read in your forums that it WILL.
I'm so confused and I'd like to get this straigtened out before I make my new purchase. Please help.
Oh and I'm in Canada, so am I on the right site?

Keynote, a part of the iWorks package, will display PowerPoint presentations. Whoever your salesman is, he's quite misinformed.
In addition to using Keynote there are other options. NeoOffice Aqua, Open Office, and ThinkFree are all MS Office compatible suites that read and write Office files including PowerPoint.

  • Lost sound on Power Point (.pps) attachments to eMails

Since I have upgraded my Mac to MAC OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.1), I am unable to get any sound on .pps attachments to eMails (the same attachments to the same eMails received on my PC laptop do produce sound). In an attempt to maybe solve this problem, I remove OpenOffice from my Mac and downloaded anew OpenOffice 3.1.1 I still cannot get any sound. I also have the Microsoft Office suite on my Mac, installed before my upgrade to Mac OS X, and its Power Point program also fails to produce any sound for .pps slidesshows.
I do have sound on videos of any kind.
    Can you help?
    Thank you for your attention.

Mistake in title of my post. Should have read ".pps". Sorry.

  • Power Point Viewer

    Hello Everybody,
I'm looking for a viewer that can show me some Power Point Slides (Not OOo and certainly NOT MS Power Point)
I would like to use it as a viewer that captures .pps attachments in my mail.
Does anyone here ever heard of such a program, and where to get it ?
    Thanks !

As I recall, the power point viewer was often sent along with the power point data.
I suggest that you may have luck if you put power point viewer on a CD for your use in presenting the power point materials that you wish to display.
The only viewer I can find must be running inside Wine, but that's not what I want.
Isn't there something similar to epdfviewer that can view .pps/.ppt files ?

  • Power point report using LabVIEW

    Hai,
i am trying to generate some kind of reports in power point tthrough labview.
I have been searching in the net. i don't get the complete details like creating new slide , editing it and so on. Rather i could get details only for running the slide show.
i have tried with activex vis automation open.vi with the reference as MS- power point documnet window, slides ,etc.
that vi throws "not creatable object" for almost all reference except power point application reference.
Has anyone done this kind work with labview.
If anyone has idea about this please tell me how to do this.
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I think you also sent an email.  I'll post some information for the masses as well:
The following is a very useful msdn.com document - a useful place to find information about microsoft products such as powerpoint.
    Microsoft PowerPoint Objects http://msdn.microsoft.com/archive/default.asp?url=/archive/en-us/office97/html/web/006.asp
For adding a slide, see the quoted text in that document and corresponding example which starts "The following example adds a slide to the beginning of Sample Presentation."
Remember, the ActiveX API exposed by Powerpoint (or any other application with an ActiveX Server) is entirely independent of LabVIEW, so even a text based example suffices to elucidate the necessary calls to the API.  It turns out that with a "presentation" reference we can get a "slides" reference using a property node, and then get to the "add" method using an invoke node.  The attached screenshot (also shown below) shows how to expose this method in LabVIEW.
    Thank you,

  • How do you load doc's and power points etc on the IPAD2?

How do you load doc's,power point, etc on Ipad2?

You first need one or more apps on the iPad that supports those document types, otherwise you won't have anywhere to store them (except as email attachments) - the iPad is not like a 'normal' computer which has a file system, on the iPad each file/document has to be stored/associated with an app. Once you've decided on the app(s) then, depending on the app, transfer may be done by the file sharing section of the iPad's apps tab on your computer's iTunes, wifi, Dropbox, email attachments etc.
Documents To Go supports word, excel, and powepoint files :

  • Can I prepare power point presentations on my mini iPad?

Will my Ipad mini support power point?

There may be restriction on creating complex presentations.
All of the "Office" document editing applications on the iPad have limitations.  Best try them out to see if they meet your needs.

I am contemplating purchasing an iPad to use at work, however we use a lot of microsoft poer point and excel and I need to be compatable with the rest of the office. Will iPad display Power Point presentations and excel spreadsheets?

I wanted to edit my post for you but you read my post right away ---- anyway - right out of the box - these are the file formats that the iPad can read as mail attachments. If you want to save and edit the files - you will need to purchase a third party app that is compatible with those files.

  • New to apple and wondering if using keynote is easier than power point.

    Hello all,
I have only been using os x for about 6 months, and I was wondering if using keynote is easier than power point? I am in school so I need to know if keynote will save in ppt format. The school that I go to only uses MS office 97 to 2004 format for all docs and power points. Is using keynote that much different?

i find keynote MUCH easier in almost all areas. it did take me a little learning in the beginning. the main thing to know is that apple uses a floating pallet call "inspector" to control just about all the details of the presentation. they also have a "formatting bar" which is conceptually similar to the formatting bars microsoft uses in the previous versions of office (font size, etc...).
the basic entry for slides is the same, where one just types into the fields on the slides. what i find much better is the control i have in the "inspector" to fine tune anything. i've gotten completely dependent on keynotes "staging" which is how one makes the slides animate. if i have a series of bullets and a diagram, i use the staging to get the diagram to be revealed in stages and to get the bullets appear one at a time in sync with the diagram i'm explaining. nothing is more boring for an audience to have someone just stand up, thru up a slide with 100 words and read the text bullets.
i find keynote to be much easier to develop diagrams or to copy and paste in a PDF picture. then add the staging effects i need to develop the story to explain the diagram or picture. it does take a little learning how to do it the first couple times. but the interface is consistent and it's not hard to learn it.
the only aspect i find a little easier in powerpoint is the indenting style, which is controlled in one of the editing buttons in office 11 and before. keynote controls the indenting from the "inspector" instead of having a little button in the formatting bar. but in every other way, i find keynote to be MUCH easier to use. and it has other features that powerpoint doesn't have. plus iwork is very inexpensive compared to microsoft office. finally, if you are near an apple store, they have free seminars on iWork fairly often. the 1st time i used keynote, i went to the apple store workshop and got a few answers. just see how easy it is to get person to person help for microsoft office...
the only other game in town are the various releases of the open source programs, "open office" and "neo office". they are free, also read and write ppt files, but are a little harder to use than keynote and don't have as many features.
    anyway, that's my experience.
    good luck!

  • Report download to power point doesn't show all records

    dear experts,
I have a report with a tape deck below, so it shows only records 1-25. When I click download to excel, every record is downloaded (1-all rows) and this is fine. But, if I download to power point, only the records shown on the dashboard (e.g. 1-25) are downloaded into power point.
Our quality assurance claims, that the behaviour for both download options should be the same, and not downloading to excel having every row and the power point showing limited rows.
Is there a way to download the whole report, each row, to power point (without clicking on tapedeck to show all) ??
    Thanks in advance.
    best regards,
    Thomas

    problem solved
modify report - results(answers) - click on printer icon (PDF and Print Control) - Print Rows - set to "All"
