POWL Refresh when passed new parameters

Hi Guys,
I have created an application implementing POWL functionality.
I have 5 tabs with 5 respective queries.
In the last tab i have an option of doing a search on the data and return the result in the POWL table.
When i click on the 5th tab a search creteria button is enabled , after clicking on the button i have called a web dynpro component view.
The user enters the value in the input field of the view and click on search button.
Problem:
After clicking on the search button i want to collect the data based upon the search parameters and refresh the POWL query table.
How to pass the selection creteria to already available query and refereh it based on the selection parameters.
Aprreciate much needed help.

It may be a late reply but now i got the same question about the POWL REFRESH .
My feeder class is 'CL_IBO_INBOX_FEEDER_ALERT' and i have a 'E_DO_REFRESH' parameter.
Now let me explain.
I am working in SRM WEB UI enhancement and i need to refresh the POWL component AUTOMATICALLY .
I am trying to achieve this by a BADI. so by the feeder class how can i acheive my requirement .

Crystal crashes when add new parameters to a stored proc in a subreport

This one has been driving me nuts so any help much appreciated...
I have a stored procedure (Oracle 9i) that is used as the datasource for a subreport (needs to be in the subreport as I need to pass multi-value parameters to the proc - something I've done in numerous other procs/reports). All of the parameters from the proc are linked to data/parameters on the main report.
The report works fine at the moment.
I need to add three new parameters to the proc with an If statement on each one to run various bits of code depending on what is passed in. This is where the trouble starts.
The proc works.
If I create a main report based on the new proc, it works.
If I create a subreport based on the proc and DON'T link it to the main report, it works.
If I create a subreport based on the proc and DO link it to the main report, Crystal crashes with no explanation (just that painful error that apologies for the inconvenience). It is not all the parameters that cause this problem - it's not even restricted to just the new parameters or even just to ones that are used in the IF statements.
This is not the first proc to do this to me - just the first one where the new functionality was too critical to strip out for now.
I have been trawling the net and trying all sorts of things for days so I am hoping someone out there has a suggestion!

Hi Daniel,
Starting from the basics, after you've inserted the subreport don't link it yet. Edit the subreport and verify the database. Once it's verified, try linking the reports and adding a parameter.
Verify the linking you are using. I've seen where the field from the main report was passing invalid or coruupted data and caused the subreport to die a horrifying death.

Master detail refresh when adding new record

Guys,
Can't believe I need to ask this question ....but here we go
when adding new master record --> I want to refresh the detail record..... in my case old detail records stays as it is until i click the save button
for detail panelformlayout-->partial trigger--> i set the ids of master panelformlayout and newMasterrecord button..... but still it doesn't refresh the child record when new master record is being created.....
any thought will be greatly appreciated

In application module it works fine......
Even on the page when i click next/previous button on masters it refreshes details information.
but when i click the button "create" it doesn't refreshes details...... (but when i save the information, i certainly see the updated details)
seems like there is some settings or binding i need to check but can't able to find one.....
any help is greatly appreciated

How to stop newtab-page flickering/refreshing when opening new tabs by ctrl-clicking thumbnails?

Often when opening new tabs from thumbnails in newtab-page (about:newtab) the whole newtab-page refreshes itself or otherwise flickers. This sometimes causes that some new tabs are not opened when ctrl-clicking multiple thumbnails in a row. Does the newtab-page recalculate after every click what thumbnails it should show and this could cause the flickering effect? (Although I don't see changes in thumbnail order.)

Disk Utility doesn't refresh when inserting new DVDs

I'm in the process of copying a few DVDs by making an image of them first and then burning the image onto a blank DVD through Disk Utility.
After I'm done with one and insert a new DVD to copy, Disk Utility doesn't refresh to show me the new disk is in the drive. Is it normal?
If it is, is there something I can press so that Disk Utility manually refresh its listing of drives?
I find that quitting and restarting Disk Utility just to make a new image is so inefficient.

I am suddenly having the same problem. When I insert a blank disc either cd or dvd it does not show up in the left column in disc utility. I have tried closing and then relaunching disc utility but nothing. The disc shows up on my desk top but not in disc utility. I fear this is a Snow Leopard problem. Toast has no problem recognizing the disc and burning to it.

WLS Instances don`t refresh when getting New content

          new HTML and JSP content in a already deployed web directory, i.e. a client is
          only able to access the old stuff.
          The Clients are communicating via an Apache PlugIn with the WLS Instances (we`ve
          got a small cluster with 2 instances). Is it possible that either the apache webserver
          or the WLS Admin Server have cached the old content ?
          Is hot Deploymewnt of new content not possible on WLS 6.0 ?

WebAppComponents can be hot deployed, i.e. refreshed without having to
          redeploy the whole application. This will work for any static content (html,
          gif, jpeg, etc.) as well as jsp files.
          In 6.1, use the weblogic.deploy command to refresh. In 6.0, there is a
          separate command-line tool
          (weblogic.management.tools.WebAppComponentRefreshTool) which is in a rolling
          patch for Service Pack 2.
          Please contact WebLogic Support to request the Rolling Patch.

Search Term Issues when passed as Parameters in Opening a PDF file in Browser (Updated)

I am wondering if there is a solution to the following issue.
We are working with PDF files that have been OCRed (invisible text layer). We use a search engine to search the PDFs for terms. We then pass the search terms as a parameter to the PDF when we are opening it in Acrobat or Reader in the browser. It brings up a list of instances and the context in which it is found -- much like the native search function -- but it is not possible to only search for the exact phrase when it is passed as a variable..
In some cases, what we see are two lists -- so it has the filename with a list underneath that is expanded showing search results, and then a second instance of the file name after that list, but it is collapsed.
Is there a way to just have one list or both lists expanded at the same time?
Also, is there a way to ensure that it shows instances where more search keywords are found at the top of the list.
For example, if we pass the search phrase "wanted to buy a car" it might show instances of "to" at the top of the list, but later on in the collapsed list it might show instances of "buy a car". Again, is it possible to prioritize the results, or at the very least, expand everything? I am not sure what else we can try.

Follow up: I should note that some times the two lists appear to be the same or similar terms found twice. At the top it would say 2 documents with n instances (where n is the number of instances). I have noticed this when the search keyword count goes up.
Follow up #2: It appears that this occurs more often when using more than 2 keywords, but I have seen it happen with only 2 words.

There were documents available in the knowledgeable that I no longer have the urls for. I have had communication with Adobe Acrobat support personnel that have made the same statements. I do not have the habit of asking official Adobe tech support people to prove their statements by providing documentation. I have also seen Adobe employees give presentations on computers that have had both installed. When they were asked about the incompatibility, they did say the equivalent of phooey. However, enough people on this forum have had their problems disappear when they have removed one of the two programs that I feel comfortable giving that advice. Yes some people have no problems running both until one of the programs or a system component gets updated and then things stop working. My advice is not to have both on the same computer. When two programs share system calls and can fight over who gets to handle the call it makes sense that it can cause a problem. It doesn't make a difference if it is Reader and Acrobat or any two other programs you run. If you are not having a problem with running both GREAT. However, if you are running both and have a problem, it is a simple step to eliminate one and see if the problem disappears.

Change properties to refresh when opening new workbook

I am trying to change the properties of queries and saved the workbook, when i am tranport those changes into QA environment it was not reflecting the changes in QA.
Please help me on this issue, this is an urgent.

You have to check two areas
1. Have you chekcked bex refresh checked in the workbook properties
Right click on workbook result ->properties -> Interaction -> 3rd option
Refresh workbook when query is changed
2. During transport, you have to transport the workbook ..have you did that?

Avoid report refresh when updating cascade parameters

I have a report with 3 cascade parameters. The first parameter, region, is independent. The second parameter, zone, depends on region. The third parameter, store, depends both on region and zone. These are multi value parameters. The report is
viewed directly in the "/reports" URL, so there are no custom applications that can modify it.
I have a data set for each parameter and obviously use parameters to limit the results of the second and third paramters. My user doesn't want the page to refresh after you set the first and second parameter. I'm not sure that's possible because it's a native
reporting services action.
I've tried to bring all the results in second and third datasets and use filters based in the previous parameter, but the lists go blank even though the "Always refresh" property of the parameter is selected.
Is there a NATIVE way to avoid the page from refreshing?

According to your description, you want avoid the second parameter and third parameter to be refresh after change the value on the first parameter, right? In Reporting Services, the report will reload after the parameters value were changed no matter the parameter
is a cascading parameter or not. This is default setting, so as Martina said, your requirement cannot be achieved currently.
Besides, if you have any concerns about this feature, you can submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product.

Passing multiple parameters to attribute value

Hi All,
My requirement is, the notification message should get a link, by clicking the user should navigate to the form. I kept the attribute type as form and attribute value as INV_INVIDITM:ITEM_ID=41817 where inv_inviditim is the form function name and item_id is the parameter.
The problem is when passing multiple parameters. I am passing multiple parameters as INV_INVIDITM:ITEM_ID=41817&ORG_ID=204.
Can any one help me to solve the above problem?

Problem with empty report parameters when passed to PL/SQL function

Hi,
We have come across what appears to be a bug in the JRC. When passing a report parameter to a PL/SQL function as a parameter, empty parameters are changed before being sent to the function. More specifically, an empty string "" ends up as the value "(')" in the PL/SQL function parameter. In our report we print the report parameters on the first page so we know that the parameters are OK before being passed to the database.
The problem exists for version 12.2.203, 12.2.204 and 12.2.205 of the JRC.
We have identified a workaround, but it is not exactly elegant: Before executing the report we modify all empty parameters ("") to " " . In the PL/SQL function, we trim all parameters before using them.
We call the function using a command object with a sql syntax like this example:
select * from table (qa_batch_release.get_qa_br('{?p_report_id}','{?p_reg_set_number}','{?p_cr_number}','{?p_change_id_decode}','{?p_country_id}','{?p_mfg_item_no}','{?p_4_no}','{?p_5_no}','{?p_7_no}'))

using #COLUMN_VALUE# would probably not make much sense, because normally a report has multiple columns and not just the numeric column which you want to verify if it's negative. But APEX will fire the template condition for each column, because the report template is a column cell template.
What you can do to make it more generic is to use for example
#CHECK_AMOUNT#
in the template and provide a not displayed column in your SQL statement which contains your value which is named CHECK_AMOUNT. For example:

, BALANCE
, BALANCE AS CHECK_AMOUNT
FROM XXX;Because this CHECK_AMOUNT column would be a generic name, you can use this template in all your reports as long as you provide this column.

Any Easy Way to pass initial parameters to a VI created with New VI?

In LabVIEW 2010 I can use OpenG's New VI function to create and launch a VI that is built from a template.
Is there any easy way to pass initial parameters from the VI that creates the New VI to the New VI that will be available as soon as the New VI starts?

Check out the Control Value Set invoke node. I personally don't like this node, and tst has got a great suggestion to promote cleaner, less fragile syntax for launching VI's dynamically that require input parameters.

Error when passing parameters in a link

i have a report and a form. i've created a link that will point to the form from the report. So i've associated the link to a field of the report and edited it so that a key field in the form will be equal to a value passed from the report's key field. The fact is that passing static values works properly, but when passing parameters from a column it raises an error:

Also, is that a function NO you're trying to use? I'm not sure what that is, so it's possible when Portal tries to parse the sql string and execute it, it's not a recognizable function in the Oracle language or the appropriate grants on that function have not been made to the schema executing the report/form
