PrE 8 used assets not checked in Task Pane

I recently upgraded to PrE 8 after using PrE 3 for years. My first project in 8 is quite involved with a lot of sound drops and still photos.Since I'm trying to learn and apply a lot of new features, I've brought into the project a lot of assets I ended up not using. Now the project is complete and I want to clean up my assets (ie, remove the ones I didn't use) before I archive the project ... but for some reason the check marks in the "USED" column in the Task Pane aren't there so I can't easily confirm which assets were/were not used. I do incremental saves with different file names as I build the project and it looks like the "USED" column may only be checked for new assets brought in initially under each file name.
Does anybody know an easy fix for this, or something I should check? Otherwise I love this version (after the update for the NVIDIA display problem).

I have not encountered the Used Column not displaying correctly. The only instance that I can recall reading of was when a user had duplicate, or very similar Asset names, and found that they did have the checkmark, but that they were looking at other Assets and the names were so similar, that it appeared that used Assets were, in fact, not used.
PrPro has one neat feature, Delete Unused, that will rid the Project Panel of any Imported Assets, that are not used. I was thinking that PrE had that too, but could not find it in PrE 4. Do not know about PrE 7, or PrE 8.

PS if you are getting some checkmarks, I would assume that this would preclude a graphics issue
PPS are the unmarked Assets showing as Off-Line?

    1. You mean to say, on left side you do not see a link for your application to initiate a task. Am I right ? If so, first check if you have some Users added to that first Initiator Role. If you deployed your app one time from JDev at that time only all the participants you add for that role will be stored in the db. Any later redeployments with more participants will not be reflected. This is part of design of bpm itself. So from BPM Workspace, login as admin. From Adminstrator link, add the users to that Role and see if that helps. If you added particpants in the JDeveloper IDE itself, they may not be reflected, even though you see them listed in admin console. So better delete existing participants or add some new participants and see if that works.
    2. I hope the first user task, that submits the task has actions like Submit and it should be Initiator type user task. When you edit the user task and add a human task, at that time, select from drop down as Initiator with only one Action like Submit.
    3. Restarting the server helps sometimes. But this may not be the root cause for your issue. Everytime you add a new participant to initiator role, we cannot expect to restart the soa servers. Add a new user from bpm admin console and thats all we need.

  • Collect Signatures workflow using Firefox not showing Workflow task "This document requires your signatures" Open this task...

    I am assuming FireFox does not support the Collect Signatures workflow in SharePoint 2010.
    We are testing things now, and if the Outlook link is opened via IE, the workflow task shows up when the Word 2010 document opens for signing...and I can sign the document.
    If we open the hyperlink in Firefox, I go through the initial prompts and get to a stopping point where I cannot sign the document and the message states:
    "Signatures can't be added or removed because this document was opened as read-only".
    It looks as if we have to tell our users to use IE since there is ActiveX involvement in this entire collect signatures process.

    Yes, I did see this under the ActiveX Controls area (3/4 down the page) from the same link you mention above:
    Connect to Outlook, Connect to Office, and Sync to SharePoint Workspace >> Works with an ActiveX control and the stssync:// protocol. Therefore, functionality may be limited without
    an ActiveX control, such as the one that is included in Microsoft Office 2010. The feature also requires an application that is compatible with the stssync:// protocol, such as Microsoft Outlook.
    ...which I'm assuming is the whole ActiveX control issue...and hence the Firefox problem.

  • "Enable Disk Use" is not checked, but my iPod is behaving as if it is.....

    I downgraded my firmware a few days ago when I was having issues with videos and sound... well, when I put the old firmware back on, my iPod seems to be enabled for disk use, even though the option is clearly unchecked. Whenever the iPod is plugged in, I have to manually hit the disconnect button for the ipod to stop saying "Do not Disconnect" on it, and the ipod shows up in My Computer as well.... leading me to believe that it is enabled for disk use. I have already completely restored my Ipod, and it worked fine for a few times, but now I"m having this issue again. I dont want my iPod enabled for disk use.

  • Premiere Elements 8.0.1 not showing task pane on launch

    When I open an existing project or create a new project, PE8 is not showing the task pane at when I start the program.   Menu items such as get media are not working either.   I had this happen before and did reinstall of PE8 but wanted to see if there is a known issue or a better workaround for this.
    Running on HP dv8 with 8GB memory (Intel Corei7) and Nvidia GeForce.

    I have not been able to resolve the original problem of sessions opening without the task pane or monitor showing and the menu items not working.   Since I could create a new project which behaved normally, I went ahead and created a new project and edited from scratch, chalking it up as a character-building exercise.
    I found some postings on the CS5 forum reporting success with the same model and config laptop, so I went ahead and downloaded the CS5 trial to check it out myself.   I considered using PE8 to convert my AVCHD to AVI and then edit in CS3 (which I already own) but it takes far to long to justify the small cost savings.   I'm hoping that the upgrade to CS5 will be worthwhile once I make it past the learning curve.

    i have upgraded my owb from version 11gr1 to 11gr2. the installation is complete and all my mappings and objects are imported successfully.
    i was able to execute the mappings using the sql code:
    @/oracle/product/11.2.0/owb/rtp/sql/sqlplus_exec_template.sql
    by logging into sqlplus as the user in whose schema mappings are deployed.
    hOwever, suddenly i am getting the error since sometime back - not sure what might have happened or what might have gone wrong. can someone please help me understand what might be wrong - how to decode this?

    Yes - if you have an Oracle database the JVM is being used.
    There is NOTHING to 'clean up' as far as the internal JVM that is part of Oracle.
    You can NOT modify it or upgrade it. And if you remove it Oracle will also remove your database.

    In the Inventory screen, select the Oracle home and the products that you want to remove, then click Remove.
    Note:
    If you choose to remove Oracle JVM, Oracle Universal Installer removes all installed products that depend on Oracle JVM, including Oracle Database 11g.

    That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
    XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

    Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Try using Firefox. Flash usually works on Firefox when it won't on Safari. I noticed that the Safari does not show the same version as Firefox does. Iwonder if that could be the problem. Safari on the left shows 10.1, Firefox show 10.3

    Thanks for the response gakker, but I've double-checked the camera / iPhoto / Image Capture scenario, and I'm 100% positive it's got nothing to do with that.
    Plugging in my iPhone has no effect on anything related to this.
    The other thing I should have mentioned is that when iTunes on my Mac is NOT running, then nothing happens on my iPhone screen when I plug it in to my Mac. I only get the "Sync in progress" message when iTunes IS running.
    It's interesting though that you say you also get this "Sync in progress" message, albeit only for a second or two though.
    Can I just double-check something with you however... When you say:

    do you mean the iTunes on your Mac? Because the problem I have is that the iPod-playback on my iPhone is interrupted.
    So can you clarify that for me, please? If you have music playing on your iPhone, and you then plug your iPhone into your Mac when iTunes is running on your Mac, does the music playback on the iPhone get interrupted?

    Got the same problem. When I click the itunes icon,the hour glass shows for about 20sec, then does off and nothing. I have checked the task manager and it does not show its running. When I come to log off the computer, I get the little window to wait or end the itunes application. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a zillon times and it still will not run. Can anyone help please?

    We have created full text search indexes using the default syntax -
    CREATE INDEX FTI ON DOCUMENTS(DOC_FILE) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT;
    How can I find out whether the INSO filter is used or not. Also a basic question, INSO filter helps in reading and "crawling" some 100+ document formats and creating an index against which search could be executed.... right?

    you can specify the inso filter in index code creation.
