gurus,
i'm using following -
Database --> Oracle 9i
Portal --> Oracle Portal 9iAS Release 2
there are about 10,000 portal users. i would like to pre-populate the OID from the existing employee repository (employee repository is a custom Oracle database).
question - is there a white paper that gives u all the api's required to do so. i've to accomplish the following tasks -
1. create users
2. give them privileges
3. assign them to groups
4. assign a default groups to users
i need to achieve above as part of pre-populating the OID.
ideas anyone ....?

Use the DBMS_LDAP package in the database and SQL commands in a PL/SQL package to create the database account and then create the OID account with a RAD for the database login connection.

I just went through an exercise were I did a bulk load of users and did exectly the four steps you're asking for. I also applied the users to desinated groups.
I'm on a HP-UX but solution can apply to any O/S.
How do I get this to you?

Develop pre-populate adapter in request dataset in OIM 11G

Hi Friends,
I have a field say UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA on the process form which is going to be populated based on the value of a field SAY UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB on the request dataset.
So my request dataset will have only one field which is UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB.
And my process form will have two fields UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA and UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB.
And I developed a pre-populate adapter on the process form to populate UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA field based on the value of UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB during provisioning. But pre-population is not at all getting triggered during provisioning. I believe I need to put UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA also on the request dataset and pre-populate its value in request dataset itself and pass the value from request data set to process form. Is this correct?
If so, as per the documentation, we need to create a request dataset with pre-pop adapter in the below format.

As per my requirement I am going to keep UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA (Group Owner) and UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB (AD Group Name) in the child forms and I am going to use the below pre-populate adapter code to get the value for UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDA based on value of UD_TEMP_FORM_FIELDB.
My question is:
If I raise a request with only one value in the child form, then the below code will code work. But, If I add more than one value say AD groups in the child form while raising a request, this code is going to retrieve same owner value for all AD groups as it will go by FOR loop.
How to pre-populate the individual owner for the individual AD group given in the child form? Please let me know.

PDF vrs. XML Pre-populate fields in PDF created in Acrobat 7.0

After converting some interactive/dynamic templates from Acrobat 5.0 to 7.0 we can no longer pre-populate fileds, including the barcode. With the 5.0 version we use FDF to populate the fields including the barcode 3 of 8, but with 7.0 it does not work and we were advise to use XML.
We've been trying XML but can't make it work. Does any one know where I can get some sample coding?

Can you elaborate a bit more on "converting some interactive/dynamic templates from Acrobat 5.0 to 7.0" and "pre-populate"?
If you were converting the template in Adobe LiveCycle Designer (comes with Acrobat Professional), then FDF import wouldn't work.
However, if you are executing the same action via Acrobat then FDF and xFDF import/export should still work.
Also, for designer based forms, you also have the option of merging the data into the PDF form using Adobe LiveCycle Forms (A server based product).
Another server based solution is to Reader Extend your PDF form to allow local import/export of data using Adobe Reader.
It really depends on what you want to do.
So options are this:
If your form is a Designer based forms:
- Manually Import Data (in XML) into PDF Form using Acrobat Professional
- Manually Import Data (in XML) into PDF Form* (Reader extended PDF form) using Adobe Reader
- Merge Data Programmatically (in XML) into PDF Form using Adobe LiveCycle Forms
If your form is an AcroForm (acrobat based form)
- Programmatically merge FDF data into PDF Form using the FDF toolkit/Acrobat SDK
- Manually Import Data in FDF/xFDF into PDF Form using Acrobat Professional.

SSRS 2005 report: Cannot bulk load Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.)

I built a SSRS 2005 report, which calls a stored proc on SQL Server 2005. The proc contains following code:

It's ok when I manually execute the proc in SSMS.
When I try to run the report from BIDS I got following error:
*Cannot bulk load because the file "\aseposretail\c$\nz\promo_names.txt" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.).*
Note: I have gooled a bit and see many questions on this but they are not relevant because I CAN run the code no problem in SSMS. It's the SSRS having the issue. I know little about the security of SSRS.

I'm having the same type of issue. I can bulk load the same file into the same table on the same server using the same login on one workstation, but not on another. I get this error:
Msg 4861, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Cannot bulk load because the file "\\xxx\abc.txt" could not be opened. Operating system error code 5(Access is denied.).
I've checked SQL client versions and they are the same, I've also set the client connection to TCP/IP only in the SQL Server Configuration Manager. Still this one workstation is getting the error. Since the same login is being used on both workstations and it works on one but not the other, the issue is not a permissions issue. I can also have another user login into the bad workstation and have the bulk load fail, but when they log into their regular workstation it works fine. Any ideas on what the client configuration issue is? These are the version numbers for Management Studio:

Notifications are not being sent when Bulk Load is done

I have OIM 11g setup on my machine. I use the bulk load utility for loading the user data. Now in my OIM setup, the notifications are being sent for all stuff like Reset Password. New account creation and other. However when I bulk load the users, notifications are not sent to their mail ids. I am running the scheduled job "Bulk load Post Process" which is necessary so that the users are synced to the LDAP repository. I have the LDAP Sync option checked and also the Notifications option set to yes in this scheduled job. Though the users are loaded successfully and are synced properly, the notifications are not sent. Can some one please guide me as to what could be the problem here?

The code is probably only called in the Event method of the event handler that sends the notification. You can check the mds files and find the notification you are looking for and then use a code decompiler to find the class that is called. You can then use this code as a sample, or write your own notification code and create an event handler that runs in the BulkEvent.
And on another note there is also this System Configuration Variable: Recon.SEND_NOTIFICATION which is set to FALSE by default.

in documents i learned that it its used to allow customer care to bulk load the data to siebel crm on demand,
i want to know, how the data will be uploaded by customer care, so whats the procedure of doing that actually? We must give our database to customer care?

This is mostly done the v first time a customer moves to production. You just need to enable this option and contact customer care. Siebel consultant will upload the data onto the database. This is done when customer has huge volumes of data that needs to be uploaded into OnDemand.

Bulk Loading using remote sql statement execution

Well, i have a different scenario. I want to bulk load the tables like we do in MySQL with LOAD LOCAL DATA sql command.
I have a file populated with data, what sql statement would bulk load the data into specified table using that file?

In Oracle, you would either use the SQL*Loader utility to load data from a flat file or you would create an external table (9i and later) that loads the flat file.

Yes, as J stated earlier, you can do this by creating a file using the .jfl load file format. The file structure is documented in the HFM user guide.

Pre-Populate field with a local XML

Hello,
What I want to achieve is to pre-populate fields on the opening of my PDF with an XML. It seems I have the choice between xfa.host.importData("filename.xdp") or xfa.datasets.data.loadXML(filename.xml,0,1).
I know Acrobat have a limited access to filesystem for security and I don't want to start a web server.
My question is Acrobat Professional have a default location to look if no path or HTTP address is provide?

ORA-06502 during bulk load

I am using v11.2 with the new Jena adapter.
I am trying to upload data from a bunch of ntriple files to the triple store via the bulk load interface in the Jena adaptor- aka. bulk append. The code does something like this

Loading the first set of triples goes well. But when I try to load the second set of triples, I get the exception below.

1) I dont think this is data problem because I uploaded all the data during an earlier test + when I upload the same data on an empty database it works fine.
2) I saw some earlier posts with similar error but none of the seem to be using the Jena adaptor..
3) The model also has a OWL Prime entailment in incremental mode.
4) I am not sure if this is relevant but... Before I ran the current test, I mistakenly launched multiple of java processes that bulk loaded the data. Ofcourse I killed all the processes and dropped the sem_models and the backing rdf tables they were uploading to.

The addInBulk method needs to be called twice to trigger the bug. Here is a test case that passes only while the bug is present! (It is to remind me to remove the workaround code when the fix gets through to my code).

You will need to do this in the following sequence of steps...
1. Populate the user entries in OID, and assign the default group
2. Create the groups in OID and assign the users to them
3. Assign the appropriate portal privileges to the groups
For step 1 and 2, I'll have to refer you to the OID Administrator's Guide for Release 9.0.2.

and describes the schema elements needed for the IAS user accounts.
For step 3, the easiest way would be to assign the privileges to the groups through the user interface. Once the groups are defined
in OID, you can select them via the Portal UI to assign the portal privileges to them.
The proper place to locate portal instance-specific groups is under the portal instance group base, which is
cn=portal_groups, cn=groups, <subscriber_base>. The following white paper
may be helpful to understand the organization of the directory information tree.

Generating Manager field in OID by using Pre-populate Adapter

I am generating the value to the manager field in OID.I found this value getting generated in the OID user form.But this value is not provisioning during provisioning the user.
In the OID Configuration Lookup table i found the manager is mapped to ldapManager.But when i connected to OID through ldap browser i didn't find this attribute.The manager attribute is not there.
So can you help me to solve this.

Pre-populate the process form as part of Role Alignment - Need suggestion

As part of implementation we are going to take over the Provisioning of AD (Via Groups-->Access Policy) using OIM which was initially configured to provision manually. Now as part of migration we required to assign a base group to the users who has already AD reconciled resource (and align it with policy via SQL updates -->POL_key is process form, OIU_POLICY_BASED in OIU table). We are doing this as part of direct SQL updates. The other part of the requirement to align the process form values using the configured pre-populate adapters (for e.g. if the current value of any attribute is X and the prepopulate adapter suggest that it should be Y then the migration should also update this attribute.) We tried to use the prepopulateProcessForm API of tcFormInstanceOperationsIntf but it seems this is working only when the System Validation is in Pending state. The other option we are thinking of putting java code and then call the prepopulate adapter by passing each input params and updating tha value via API if any update is required. Just wondering if there is anything else we can use as part of bext practices. If anyone has done this kind of implemntation please let us know your inputs. Thanks

and describes the schema elements needed for the IAS user accounts.
For step 3, the easiest way would be to assign the privileges to the groups through the user interface. Once the groups are defined
in OID, you can select them via the Portal UI to assign the portal privileges to them.
The proper place to locate portal instance-specific groups is under the portal instance group base, which is
cn=portal_groups, cn=groups, <subscriber_base>. The following white paper
may be helpful to understand the organization of the directory information tree.
